A Night with a Changeling

Zodiac and Ocellus had accepted their feelings about one another, despite the fact that she was a changeling and he was a Pegasus. But they had managed to see to it that that would not get in their way, it was going to be a good evening for themselves, and they planned to keep it that way. The two lovers made plans for their first date, a wonderful night at Goldmare's Paradise, the best restaurant in all of Canterlot, after many moons it was still in business and still serving great dishes and cuisines. It had all been accounted for, thanks to Zodiac managing to order a reservation for them from his weekly funds earned in guard duty.

At that same time, Rarity had managed to create the best apparel for them. Zodiac would wear a tux identical to what Fancy Pants wore, Ocellus would wear a silver colored dress with a black skirt at the bottom, the top would be covered in beautiful rhinestones that shined like clean glass. This had really been an exciting moment for the two, as they had been looking forward to it all week.

It had finally come to the moment for Zodiac, he had just exited through the door of his penthouse. He looked rather sharp in the tux that Rarity had made for him, closing the door and locking it behind him, he trotted through the hallways of his condo building towards the elevator, riding until it hit the bottom floor. Coming out as it opened up, Zodiac walked through the crowd of ponies entering the building, completely oblivious as to them consumed with shock at how handsome he looked. Once he left the building, he could already see the sun going down, meaning that the reservation time he had set was getting close to ready.

It took several minutes to walk there, but he knew he could make it in time, the only thing that mattered to him right now was seeing his date. Goldmare's Paradise would already have a long awaiting line stretching out to the street corner, however, the ones who made reservations got lucky because they had a special line for them. Zodiac trotted up to the location of the line that was made for the ones who booked reservations, just as he thought she would be, he saw Ocellus in her beautiful rhinestone dress that Rarity had made for her. Ocellus could not have been equally astounded to see her date in his handsome tuxedo any better.

"Oh Ocellus, you don't know how much I have been looking forward to this night."

"I can't say the same for you babe."

As Zodiac and Ocellus approached the front door, they were stopped by the greeter who was taking reservation papers from the ponies who made them. Zodiac went into his jacket pocket and pulled out the reservations he had ordered, as soon as he gave them to the greeter, the greeter then undid the rope that separated the entrance from the outside line.

"Enjoy your evening here." said the greeter.

"Thank you." said Ocellus.

Zodiac and his changeling date were now inside the beautiful five-star restaurant, it had been through renovations over the past six months. But it was now the most beautiful eatery in Canterlot, there was a lovely decoration pool that had a small waterfall, a band that played adoring imported music, and decorated custom made tables and chairs for every customer.

Zodi wasted no time as he led his changeling date to the table he had reserved for them. He slid out a chair for her to sit in while he pulled out the one he was going to sit in, once they were fully settled into their table, both of them took up the menus that were placed in front of them.

"I must say, this is a well organized menu."

"That's for sure."

"They really have upgraded the cuisines here."

"Not to mention all the flambes."

"Well, you do know the menus do not have anything the changelings eat right?" asked Zodi.

"Of course I understand." Ocellus answered, "I've actually wanted to try some fresh royal cuisine."

"Well that is what Goldmare's Paradise is here to offer us, Princess Twilight did tell me that they have the best daffodil chowder."

Ocellus shrugged, "Maybe if that is the only thing they have for soup."

"We'll then I guess we'll have to just keep reading the menu now won't we?" said Zodiac, Ocellus giggled at this.

Before they knew it, they were approached by their waiter, he was a stern looking unicorn wearing a tux and had a rounded mustache.

"Good evening, I will be you server." he said with a French accent, "To start with drinks, we have wine and fresh champagne, which one do you two prefer?"

After a quick stroll through the brands of wine and champagne, Zodiac picked the best kind he was told of.

"I'll have a glass of the Luna I Magnum."

"And you mon ami?" asked the waiter to Ocellus.

"I'll have the same."

"Very well, I will be back to take your orders." said the waiter as he left to get their drinks.

As they waited, Ocellus and Zodiac just decided to chat for a moment, in all whenever the waiter came for them. In just under five minutes, the waiter came back with a bottle of Luna I Magnum champagne and two wine glasses, carefully putting them down on the table. He soon levitated out a pen and a memo pad.

"Have you all decided what you would like this evening?"

Zodiac was quick enough to make his decision, "I'll have the daffodil and daisy rigatoni, extra herbs."

"And you madame?"

Ocellus saw that the menu also contained cooked foods that other creatures who visited Equestria had made. Looking downward at the changeling menu selection, she saw one dish she just cherished, a dish so delicious that she had wanted the recipe for it.

"I will have the fungus chowder, no basil please."

"As you may, I will be back soon, feel free to ask me for anything." said the waiter as he took their menus. Once he left their sight, Zodiac and Ocellus then started pouring the alcoholic drinks they had chosen into their wine cups.

"Here's to a good night together." said Ocellus, lifting her champagne filled cup, Zodiac knew this was a position of posing a toast. In return, he lifted his champagne filled glass as well.

"To an awesome day with the best GF."

"And BF."

The two lovers tapped their filled glasses together and took a sip, then put them down on the table.

"I really got to hand it to you Zodi, you really did good planning all this for the both of us."

"It's all in the idea."

"But how did you even manage to get reservations?"

Zodiac gave a sly smug look, "Look Ocellus, let's not forget one thing, I was raised in royalty. Ponies raised in royalty tend to grow up on the rich side of the street, therefore, royals can easily earn more by working for it."

"I chose Goldmare's Paradise because it provides a decent outlook of rhythm and advancement towards how we can establish our new relationship."

Ocellus did not hesitate enough to show her greater side towards everything. She knelt her forelegs onto the table and pressed her chin onto the top of her hooves, at the same time, giving her boyfriend a loving yet beautiful, bedroom eyed look.

"Zodi, you have no idea how much I adore you right now." she said with a flirting tone.

Zodiac blushed and chuckled rapidly, "Oh yeah, well I..."

"No need to explain, I am just thankful right now, however, I do have a favor to ask."

"Anything for you babe." Zodiac said as he took her hoof.

"Can I stay with you for the night, I want to.............sleep with you."

Zodiac was surprised, this was only their first night out together, yet she was wanting to stay and sleep with him. But because he loved her very much, he could not turn down the favor.

"Ocellus, of course you can stay with me, just let's not go off the deep end with anything understand?"

"Of course." she answered as they kissed on the lips, the waiter coming with their meals.
