Tyrant sparkle
war or peace
Load Full Story“ Breath in and out”, Twilight Sparkle, equestria's newest alicorn, said to herself as she tried to calm herself down in preparation of making the biggest speech of her life in front of the equestrian parliament. Her eyes dotted around the ornate house room floor. She rarely went to the floor despite her status as one of equestrias 4 princesses, but when she did she was always amazed( and somewhat concerned by the cost of) by how much gold was adorned on these ancient walls. They helped to highlight the various classical paintings and busts of various important aristocrats, the bright royal red carpet, the polished obsidian desks, and the giant crystal chandelier in the very center of the circular room. The most underwhelming part of parliament, Twilight found, was the supposed statesman who looked less like dignified intellectuals and more like bored lobbyists ``They don't seem to respect me in any way, unlike Celestia''thought twilight, as for when Celestia spoke all were in attention to her mentors worlds, while most of them now seemed to be getting ready for a nap. "Luckily they aren’t the ones I must convince”, she thought to herself as she looked at the cameras around the room. “ Well it’s now or never”, she thought as she uncoiled the knots in her stomach and opened her mouth.
“Sixteen centuries and 7 years ago our ancestors met in these sacred halls, to bring forth a new nation. A nation unlike any other in history; for you see it wasn’t created out of conquest, to protect against an overwhelming adversary, or for the political benefit of a group of psychopathic aristocrats, but instead it was created upon an ideal. An ideal that anyone from any corner of this world could come and work hard, and have the ability to succeed in life no matter their gender, race, or class. A utopia in which the ideals of progress and enlightenment trumped those of bigotry, sexisms', superstition, and illiberal populism.”, twilight sparkle weighed her next words before speaking once more to the camera.
“However, our way of life is in grave danger. There are those in the world that seek to destroy our way of life either due to jealousy, or due to their cultures innate hatred of civilization in all its beauty. During my trip to saddle Arabia, our so-called “ally”, I have witnessed crimes against our way of life that everyone in the harmonic world should find ghastly and appalling. Women are not allowed to step a foot outside their husbands house without being chastised and beaten, and their religion asks for mere children to become soldiers and kill non-believers in genocidal jihads. They have already used our hard earned taxpayer money, given to them by corrupt bureaucrats, to train religious extremists in their rival’s territories. Many might stand here and proclaim that since they are our allies that these monstrous atrocities do not affect us, but we must ask ourselves “how long will these mongrels remain allies”. They don’t share our ideals or beliefs, in fact they actively fear and despise them. They only ally with us because we provide them protection, and in exchange they back us in regional disputes. Expect, oh wait!”, she said with flair as she pulled a news article showing equestrians waiting in ridiculously large lines to get oil from 100 years ago through space using her immense power.
“They don’t! As most of us should know, during the Carter ministry we saw record breaking oil prices , and we suffered a recession due to an oil embargo placed on us by the Saddle Arabs themselves. And for what reason you might ask? “, she growled in exasperation .
“Good question my dear viewer. The reason for this fundamental betrayal of our alliance, was because they were mad at us for helping the democratic nation of Zion protect itself from getting annihilated a second time by religious zealots. The kicker to all of this, they have never EVER embargoed the flow of oil to any of our adversaries except for the Xerxian empire. Such great allies they are”, the purple alicon said sarcastically as she contemplates the irony in how the princess of friendship is the princess with the most hatred in her heart. Her throat feels dry as she looks around to see the hall has turned silent, as all of the Leeches stiff with worry and dread. “Time to end this' ', she told herself as she took a sip of water and readied her voice.
“ So gentlemen and women, what will it take? What will it take for you to realize the danger saddle Arabia poses to us and the world at large? Will it take the world trade towers in Philadelphia to go down to a terrorist attack, or will it take sucide bomber to blow up a train station before you pull the stack of Saddle Arbaian dollars out of your ears and realize that these terrorists are not our friend? Would a Saddle Arabian in our own nation beating and raping his wife to death for trying to leave with the kids and then forcing his daughters have their reproductive organs removed with hot iron, just for the sake of their stupid twisted version of their religion, be what it takes?” roared Twilight. She was near tears as images of beaten and brutalized women and minorities flashed in her eyes, before she gathered the metal resolve to compose herself once more.
“My friends in the equestrian parliament, I hope that you have realized that the only way to protect our great nation from the evil influences of our so called allies, and to ensure our economic security is to declare war on Saddle Arabia, free their women and children, and take their oil to pay for a series of tax cuts I wish to pass”, she added to make sure that special interest would be amiable to her ideas. She looked at the faces of her assorted colleagues motionless and stunned by her words as if they were spoken by Celestia herself. Yet the silence wasn’t the result of immense bliss that they would receive from Celestia's speeches but one of fear. That fact would become abundantly clear as the equestrian parliament devolved into a screaming mess of speeches of speeches and insults as everyone tried to talk over everyone else.
“Celestia is going to kill me”, Twilight said to herself as she staggered out of the room, still emotionally drained.
