Chapters One fine day in Canterlot City, three friends were bored out of their minds. They were the Canterlot Movie Club or CMC as they liked to go by, a strong, tight-knit group of close friends. Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Apple Bloom were house-sitting for Rarity as she and the other girls were out on a trip.
"I'm soo bo-oo-red" Scootaloo proclaimed for the fifth time.
"With you on that one, Scoots" Apple Bloom said, from where she was laying upside down on the couch.
Sweetie Belle was strangely quiet during all this.
"Earth to Sweetie Belle" Apple Bloom waved a hand in front of her friend's face "Are you there?"
Sweetie Belle grinned mischievously.
"Say girls" she began "Why don't we...you know.... go explore around the house?"
The other two grinned back mischievously, bringing their hands together for a three way high-five.
"CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS EXPLORERS,YAY!"
"I'm taking Rarity's room" Sweetie Belle announced.
"Living room for me" declared Apple Bloom.
"Basement it is" Scootaloo said to no one in particular as Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle had already run off.
In Rarity's room, Sweetie Belle could hardly contain her excitement. She couldn't wait to search through her sister's room, eager to find blackmailing material. First she checked the drawers, then under then bed, then in the drawers again, and at last settled in rooting through the closet.
Apple Bloom was having quite the time, exploring around the living room. Giddy with excitement, she played around on the fancy looking instrument for some time, then replaced all the pictures on the walls, so that at first glance it looked normal, but upon close inspection, one could see that the pictures were tilted ever so slightly. Oh, Rarity was in for a time when she got back.
Scootaloo walked towards the basement and flipped on the lights. Down here, Rarity usually kept her spare materials or old, unused products. As she looked around, Scootaloo could see there was an old dusty almirah, a table with some scraps of paper and rolls of fabric and some spare mannequins. She opened the almirah door with some difficulty and immediately regretted it as she was greeted with a face full of dust. Scootaloo coughed and waved it away. From what she could see, it was mostly empty except for the trunk sitting at the bottom.
She hefted it out, but it was so heavy that she toppled backwards, the trunk falling from her hands with a loud crash.
"What was that?" Apple Bloom's voice called somewhere above her.
"Come down here AB and bring Sweetie with you" Scootaloo hollered back. She opened it up and stared inside. It was filled to the brim with costumes and play props.
Leaving whatever they were doing, Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom rushed downstairs as fast they could. AB offered a hand to help Scootaloo up, while Sweetie inspected the trunk. Looking back at the other two girls, she could figure out what they were about to say.
"CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS ACTRESSES, YAY!"
The three girls rushed outside, careful not to trip over their dresses. Scootaloo was delighted to find out that she could ride her scooter just fine, Sweetie Belle's roller skates were no trouble, and Apple Bloom, well she was just content with running.
"ONE!"
"TWO!"
"AND THREEE, LET'S GO!"
On their scooter, roller blades and shoes respectively, Scoots, AB and Sweetie set off towards Diamond Tiara's mansion .She had changed considerably, and now she and Silver Spoon were close with the CMC as any one could get.
As they sped past, many heads turned to gaze at the commotion.
"Is that the Canterlot Movie Club?"
"And in medieval dresses?"
"How adorable" someone gushed.
Rumble was just passing by when he happened to overhear them. He looked up and indeed it was Scootaloo in a blue dress as she zoomed by on her scooter. He flushed slightly when she waved at him and ignored Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom's knowing looks.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the Rich Mansion.
"HEY"
"DIAMOND TIARA"
"AND SILVER SPOON"
"LOOK AT US" The CMC chorused as they struck a pose in front of them.
Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon looked up, and their jaws dropped open.
Sweetie Belle led the way out of the basement, with Scootaloo and Apple Bloom following behind, each carrying both ends of the trunk. Upon reaching Rarity's room, Sweetie Belle immediately dove into the trunk, opening it and pulling out various clothing items. Apple Bloom followed, and giggled with glee as she held a prop sword in one hand and a pirate hat in another.
"Scoots, take a look at this,” Sweetie Belle said, holding up a dress.
It was a Edwardian style dress, royal blue in color, with lighter blue stripes going down it. Full-sleeved, with a drawstring bodice, and lace cuffs, the dress had a matching bonnet connected to a light blue fabric and blue high heel boots.
Scootaloo stared. It was actually quite pretty.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" urged Apple Bloom "Go try it on, you'll love it."
"I'm not so sure,” Scootaloo admitted "Dresses are not really my thing."
Sweetie Belle rolled her eyes. "Come on, we're not asking you to wear it forever. Besides, didn't you wear one at the Fall Formal?"
Hesitantly, Scootaloo agreed. "Geez, alright Sweetie."
The other two girls came over and helped her get into the dress. Sweetie Belle smoothed out her hair and fixed the bonnet on, while Apple Bloom brushed away non-existent wrinkles.
"Viola, you're done," Sweetie Belle announced, leading Scootaloo to the mirror.
"Totally suits you," added Apple Bloom.
"Oh, wow," Scootaloo murmured "So awesome."
Not too tight or too loose, the dress was a perfect fit. Scootaloo loved the way the skirt moved around her legs, not restricting any movement. The skirt fell just above her ankles, ensuring she wouldn't trip if she was walking or running.
While Scootaloo admired herself in the mirror, Sweetie Belle had gotten dressed in a pink one with ruffles, and Apple Bloom in a mauve and gold one with frills.
"Whoa, you girls look good," commented Scootaloo.
"I know right?" Sweetie Belle squealed, clapping her hands and twirling around.
"Now, we match," Apple Bloom said smugly.
They brought their hands together for their signature high-five.
"CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS PRINCESSES, YAY!"
"What? Not fair," Diamond Tiara pouted. "You didn't tell me you were having a dressing up party."
"Yeah," added Silver Spoon "We want to wear pretty dresses like you guys too."
"Why don't you?" Apple Bloom asked matter-of-factly.
Diamond and Silver looked at each other "Why not."
Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom waited as Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon rushed inside and soon came hurrying outside, Diamond wearing a black and gold dress with a wide skirt, and Silver wearing a deep green one.
"Now, this works," said Diamond, satisfied.
"Are you sure you can walk in that thing," Apple Bloom asked skeptically as she looked at Diamond Tiara's dress.
"She can walk as much as Scoots can jump rope in hers," Silver Spoon replied confidently.
"Ooh ooh, I have an idea," Sweetie Belle jumped up excitedly "Competition between Scootaloo and Diamond Tiara to see who can move the easiest in dresses."
Diamond Tiara shrugged. "Sure."
She then had the butlers bring in some skipping ropes, a trampoline, hula hoops, and a wooden plank.
"So, Scoots," Diamond Tiara said, smirking "Bring it on."
Scootaloo grinned back "Challenge accepted, DT."
The other three girls watched in fascination as Scootaloo jumped over the skipping rope, moving effortlessly without even tripping over her feet. Diamond Tiara matched her pace equally, not once did her hula hoop fall down. Next, Diamond Tiara jumped on the trampoline, all the while skipping on the rope. Not to be outdone, Scootaloo raced her scooter on the ramp, did a jump in mid-air and smoothly landed down.
Sweetie Belle clapped enthusiastically.
"So, who won?" asked Scootaloo.
"Sorry Diamond," Silver Spoon said apologetically. "But gotta give it to Scoots on this one."
Diamond Tiara smiled "Fair game."
The Crusaders then said their goodbyes, it was quite late and they had to go home now. On their way back, they ran into none other than Rainbow Dash.
"Squirt?" Rainbow Dash said surprised. "What are you doing here and why are you dressed liked the medieval ages?"
"Rainbow!" Scootaloo exclaimed, also surprised. "We're just playing around. But aren't you supposed to come later today?"
Rainbow Dash shrugged. "Trip ended early. Rarity's probably reached home by now."
Sweetie Belle froze.
"Sweetie Belle, you got the house keys don't you?" Apple Bloom asked calmly.
"Of course I do!" Sweetie replied......rather hesitantly.
Scootaloo winced "Oh no."
From across half the city, a very distinct screech could be heard echoing around.
"SWEETIEEEE BELLEEEEEEE!!!"
