Pokémon: Sparkling Violet
On a TV Screen, a battle can be seen playing on a small TV screen. Showing what looks like a huge monstrous bear standing on its hindlegs as a huge quadroped bug evades one of its attacks. The screen fades in as it shows a live battle going on.
"Looks like Barreetle was too fast for the towering Grizzstellation, but can Grizzstellation still pull a win out of this fight?" An announcer announced. The creature known as Grizzstellation flashed its yellow eyes as the buggy creature known as Barreetle started to float up into the air, and then get slammed into the ground, causing the crowd to roar out in cheers.
"Oooohhh!! A devastating Psychic from Grizzstellation, can Barreetle still pull through?" The announcer exclaimed. Barreetle got up, and was soon enveloped in a red light as it was returned to a Poke Ball. "Looks like the challenger is switching Pokémon, what will the challenger do now folks!" the announcer exclaimed. A shadowy figure pulled out a Poke Ball, with a green top and what looked like fangs on the side of the ball as out came a winged serpent creature with Chicken like features.
"Holy jeez, It's Cobblrooster! This winged Pokémon is always great for sweeping teams, ladies and gents, hold on to your seats, because this fight just got cranked up to an 11!" The announcer exclaimed as the crowd cheered.
The screen fades out to show a dark skinned girl with straight dark purple hair with pink highlights in blue pajamas as she sat on a bed and watched the TV intently with a big grin and sparkling eyes, holding a notepad in hand.
"Twilight Sparkle is a 21 year old woman, who plans to go to the professor's lab tomorrow to get her first Pokémon, and venture out of Ponivylle Town, so she can become a Pokémon Master."
"Ooohhhhh!!!! I can't wait, I can't wait! Tomorrow I'm actually going to go on my journey! I can finally do something with my life, and not be cooped up in my room every day. I swear, as Celestia's apprentice, I will become a master!!" The girl exclaimed happily.
"Twilight Sparkle!!" A voice called out. Twilight flinched as she turned around to see her dad, Night Light, looking in with a stern look. His stern look turned into a look of excitement as he pulled Twilight into a big ol' bear hug as they both excitedly celebrated.
"My daughter's gonna make something of her life! If your brother were still here, he'd be so proud of you, pumpkin pie!" Night Light stated happily. Twilight smiled as she saw her mom, Twilight Velvet, looking over Night Light's shoulder as she was happy for her daughter, but still had to be the stern one as she smiled.
"Alright, alright, let's let our little master-to-be get her rest, hon, otherwise she may miss out." Velvet stated. Night Light kissed her daughter's forehead as he left the room. Velvet grabbed the TV remote and switched it over to another channel, showing a stoic and wise old man with a white beard with streaks of gray in them, as well as gray skin, wearing a lab coat with twinkling star patterns, pointing to three Pokémon selected to be starters.
The first Pokémon would be a mint green bunny rabbit, slightly scowling as it quickly chewed a carrot to crumbs as its leafy bunny ears swayed every which way as a small bud was present above a small green bushy cottonball tail. The second Pokémon would be a deep blue shepherd puppy with wavy and wet fur and gills as a stream of water formed into a small fish tail as fins sprouted from its front and hind legs. The third Pokémon was a small baby bird with red and orange feathers, as well as ashy black and white feathers with a lit ember atop its head as it cooed.
"I want you to watch that, and when it's over, get some sleep honey. You have a big day tomorrow... I'm so proud of you." Velvet said happily, quickly leaving the room as she wiped tears of joy from her eyes, leaving Twilight to sit down and take notes on the program.
Many Hours Later...
It was 4 in the morning, Twilight had nodded off and on her notepad was a bunch of formulas and hypothetical scenarios to determine which starter was the best choice, to the point where the eligible stuff that can be read or understood, was still incomprehensible due to her lack of sleep. She slowly woke up to the sound of her alarm, and almost immediately turned it off, chucking it into the trash can as she slowly fell back asleep, only to be interrupted by the light in her room flickering on as party favors go off, causing her to jolt awake.
"Come on, honey! Wakey Wakey!" Night Light exclaimed. Twilight groggily got up out of bed as she put on a black and violet t-shirt and some jean shorts. She tied on some sneakers as she tossed on a backpack and a hair clip in the shape of a Poke ball with a sparkling star with 6 points jutting out from the sides, tying her hair into a ponytail. Twilight grabbed a pair of glasses as she put them on and slowly walked downstairs, shouldering her backpack as she slowly made her way out, smiling as the dawn's light shone upon her.
A couple hours later, Twilight was wide awake, slowly jogging towards a big fancy cottage with a bigger lab connected to it up on a hill. 'Take a breather, Twilight. You're about to make an important decision, and you can't allow yourself to be distracted. Just calmly slow your pace and-'
"Out of the WAAYYY!!!" A voice called out, interrupting Twilight's train of thought.
Twilight barely had any time to react, and collided with someone as they fell to the ground. Twilight grabs her glasses and adjusts them, picking herself up as she rubbed her now aching head.
"My goodness, I'm so sorry! I'm usually more focused... are you alright?" Twilight asked, looking down at the person. This person was a girl, a blue skinned girl with a fiery passion in her eyes as her white flowing hair shimmered in the light of the sun. She wore a blue hoodie with a silver necklace and some jeans, as well as sneakers and a yellow undershirt. As well as a bright Purple beanie with yellow stars.
"I was, no thanks to you, ya klutz! I just got my starter Pokemon, and I plan to become the greatest Pokemon Magician ever! I'm already behind due to this unforeseen encounter." The girl stated, sounding full of herself with confidence as she scowled up at Twilight. Twilight frowned as she helped her up.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you, I was just in a hurry myself. I think we got off on the wrong foot, I'm Twilight. What's your name?" Twilight introduced. The girl scowled and sighed, frowning.
"I'm the great and powerful TRRRRRIXIE! Remember that name, because the next time we cross paths, I won't be so inclined to let this slide next time. I bid you adieu, Twilight. It wasn't much of a pleasure to meet you." Trixie stated, walking off as she unhooked a Poke Ball from her belt and glared back at Twilight as she went along.
Twilight sighed and balled her fists as she collected herself. "Grr, I'll show that Trixie. I'm gonna get a great Pokémon, then we'll see who remembers whose name, then." Twilight told herself confidently as she ran towards the lab, walking inside.
Inside the lab itself, was a bunch of papers that were quickly stacking up as a tall young guy with orange skin, messy and unkept scarlet hair and silver glasses carefully carried a box of poorly balanced items as he set it all down on the table.
"Professor Starswirl, are you sure we just can't get any more of this stuff if it goes to waste? It seems so easy to produce in such little time, for how important it is to our research." The boy asked. The professor, going by the name of Starswirl, walked over with a cane, with a gilded chrome Poke Ball on its top, acting as the handle. Starswirl knocked the boy over the head with a bemused look.
"Our research pertains to understanding what the limits of Pokémon have as a connection to what our own limits are as a species. And we can't afford another waste of resources on mediocre theories without the right proof or flow of knowledge on the subject. Besides, I still have a job to do as a Pokemon Professor, the next trainer to walk through that door, will be the last trainer to be chosen to go on a menial adventure, Sunburst. You're my apprentice for a reason, not just so you can bounce theories off of my research." Starswirl explained bitterly. Sunburst frowned at this and continued to work on several small trinkets as the front door swung open, revealing Twilight, smiling from ear to ear.
"I'm here for my Pokémon, Professor!" Twilight called out proudly. Starswirl grimaced as he groaned and walked over. "Ahh yes... the Champion's apprentice. How could I forget..." Starswirl stated sarcastically, motioning for Twilight to follow him to a metal pedestal, revealing three Poke Balls. Twilight's eyes shimmered as she got giddy, almost immediately ready to make her choice.
"These three Pokémon were selected to be the starting Pokémon for your journey. The first Pokémon is the grass type, Bunnibud. The Second Pokémon is the fire type, Flintchling, and the Third Pokémon is the water type, Guppup. Pick one, and choose wisely, mind you." Starswirl said unenthusiastically.
Twilight immediately grabbed the Poke Ball that contained Bunnibud. "I choose this one, I did a very detailed calculation on how beneficial a grass type would be, and I think my calculations will prove to be superior." Twilight stated. Twilight held up the Poke Ball, and it opened up revealing... nothing. Twilight was confused as she didn't consider the scenario of when the last one would be already taken.
"Well that's a shame. I remember this shy woman coming in, requesting a Pokemon from me, and she took the Bunnibud before I even introduced it. That was the last one, I'm afraid." Starswirl stated.
Twilight perked up and immediately grabbed the Poke Ball that would've contained Guppup. "Then I choose this one, it's the second best starter for any journey across any region, and with a water type, exploring the deep depths of the sea will be a cinch." Twilight stated. The Poke Ball opened up, again, revealing nothing. Twilight nearly collapsed if she didn't look so cheated.
"Unfortunately, a girl with crossed eyes came in looking for a starter as well, and intended on taking the last Guppup. When she did, it somehow learned Splash of all things. If I recall, she then simply told me, 'I just don't know what went wrong', I think. I could be mistaken, but the poor dear still took the last Guppup I'm afraid." Starswirl stated.
Twilight was a bit worried as she took the Poke Ball, that would've contained Flintchling. "Then if all else fails, fighting fire with fire always works out in the end... sometimes. I pick Flintchling." Twilight said. The Poke Ball opened up, and revealed absolutely nothing. Leaving Twilight to be upset and her mouth open agape.
"Unfortunately, a big bulky man came in, looking for a starter. I didn't have any fighting types to give, but he was willing to be civil and settle on taking the last Flintchling, I think his name was Bulk... or was it Snowflake? I'm not quite sure. I'm sorry, but there are no more Pokémon. Maybe next time when you're-" Twilight fell to her knees, sulking as she felt everything crumble around her.
Starswirl did not want to see anyone moping around in his workplace, and soon thought of something. "Well, maybe there's still a chance you can get a Pokémon, dear." Starswirl stated, watching Twilight slowly pick her head up, looking slightly hopeful. Starswirl pressed a button on the machine, bringing up 3 more Poke Balls. One with a Lightning bolt, one with a pink eye wide open, and one with a Dragon's head in a deep navy color. There was also an empty spot, where it seemed like a 4th ball should've been.
"I already gave that annoying Trixie woman the normal type starter, which was just an Eevee. These three balls contain Pokémon we collected from far off places in Canteiquis. The electric type is a Pokémon known as Possuvolt. The Psychic Type is a Pokémon known as Espiguana. And the Dragon type is a Pokémon we just discovered, called Drakonid. Drakonids are very difficult to train, and very impressionable, according to the last 50 trainers who could barely keep up with the Pokémon's aggressive distaste for greedy trainers and it disobeying most basic commands. Make your choice." Starswirl explained.
Twilight looked over each individual Poke Ball, and thought real hard, as these three weren't apart of her original calculations.
'Ok, Sparkle... you can do this. Three fresh starters, and you have to make the decision on what is best. Drakonid... it sounds incredibly rare, but it's also very difficult to train, according to Starswirl... but it's not everyday you get to be offered a Rare Pokémon for a starter choice...' Twilight thought to herself. Twilight reached for Possuvolt's Poke Ball, until she felt something radiating. She felt a form of energy radiating from Drakonid's Poke Ball, and due to her own curiosity, Twilight found herself in the position to make her final choice.
"I choose... Drakonid." Twilight stated confidently, grabbing Drakonid's Poke Ball as a creature came out of the ball in a flash of bright light. On the pedestal was a small newborn sized dragon trying to stand on its hind legs. Its scales were a purple color, and the scales growing out were rounded, and in a bright shade of green. It had no wings, but it did have shining green eyes as it wore a brown egg shell on its back like a turtle shell. Twilight looked at it and smiled as she carefully carried the Drakonid in her hands as it smiled back.
"It's perfect. I think I know just what to call you... Spike." Twilight stated as she petted the dragon. Spike attempted to try and say its name, until it belched out a huge stream of green flames onto Twilight's face. Twilight's face was blacker than before and she coughed out a puff of black smoke as Spike laughed at what he did.
"Seems he's already warming up to you." Starswirl stated, chuckling at the sight. He reached into one of his coat pockets and pulled out a Cool Blue device as he punched in some sort of combination on the device before handing it to Twilight.
"Here, this is a Pokédex, think of it as an on hand encyclopedia on any and every Pokémon species. If you intend to branch out and grow your team, use these." Starswirl stated, handing Twilight 5 smaller Poke Balls. "These are empty Poke Balls, and they are made for catching Pokémon. You will have to battle them if you want to have a better chance at catching the Pokémon you want. Go on, Twilight Sparkle, go and become strong." Starswirl stated.
Twilight smiled as she pressed a button on the blue device, showing a small pixelated face smiling.
"Greetings, I am Dexi, the AI built for recognizing and analyzing data of unregistered Pokémon. This device is made by Professor Starswirl, and owned by Newbie Pokémon trainer, Twilight Sparkle." The voice spoke as the device went idle. Twilight walked to the front door, pocketing Spike's Poke Ball as she opened the door, motioning for Spike to follow. The Drakonid instinctively followed as it rode on Twilight's shoulder.
Twilight smiled as she walked down the hill and saw her parents waving at her, looking at her happily as they saw Spike perched on her shoulder. Twilight was reminded to have clean clothes and such, and immediately went off to the first route between her and the next city, Route 49.
Twilight casually walked onto the dirt path as she waded through the grass, hearing Spike casually sleep and snore on her shoulder. Twilight managed to find a clear opening in the grass as well as a tree, which Spike immediately ran up as it tried to resume sleeping.
"Spike! You get down here right now! I can't go on without you, you're my only Pokémon!" Twilight stated, yelling up at the tree. Twilight turned around and saw a new Pokémon strut into view. A small peacock-like bird with vibrant patterns on its small frail feathers. "Woah, what's that?" Twilight asked. She pulled out the Pokedex and pressed a button on it as it soon displayed the image of the Pokémon.
Peaqwail, The Quivering Bird PKMN
These small Pokémon may be frail, but their vibrant patterns on their feathers are used as a method of causing a distraction while it pecks and kicks at its enemies while they are in a daze. The small size of this Pokémon, combined with its lack of wings and pudgy body type, is the main reason why it can't achieve flight without aide from its mother.
Twilight looked up from the device and looked back at the Peaqwail, it's light brown feathers clashing with its shiny white and blue feathers makes it seem beautiful, but still brimming with potential to be a valid party member.
"Alright, I got this. Go, Poke Ball! Hyah!!" Twilight exclaims, taking an empty Poke Ball and throwing it at the Peaqwail, who then went inside the ball as it was enveloped in a bright red light. Twilight smiled as she watched the Poke Ball shake, and the Peaqwail break out, scared as it runs off into the tall grass.
"What just happened?!" Twilight exclaimed. The Pokédex beeped and showed an image of a Poke Ball.
"The Pokémon was not weakened enough to be captured. You must battle the Pokémon with your own to increase your chances of catching new team members." Dexi stated. Twilight frowned as she looked up at Spike, who was laughing at how Twilight failed. Twilight kicked the tree and Spike fell into her arms, frustrated.
"Are you done, little mister? Come on, we're supposed to be partners on this. Please, Spike?" Twilight asked. Spike shrugged as he grabbed a pebble with his tail and flung it up the tree, knocking a Pokémon out from the tree.
"Aha! Another Peaqwail. Good eye, Spike. Now let's see if I can't finesse this." Twilight said happily as she prepared another Poke Ball, only to realize this Pokémon wasn't a Peaqwail. The Pokémon was very cat-like, but it was also comprised of horn nubs on its head and a rattlesnake's tail. Twilight flinched as she quickly put the Poke Ball away and fished out the Pokédex again as the angered Pokémon got closer.
"T-Th-That's not a P-Peaqwail!" Twilight stuttered as the Pokédex registered the Pokémon, pulling up its entry.
Catombine, The Mismashed PKMN
Catombine are rare and aggressive creatures made up of the DNA of most Cat, Ram and Snake Pokémon that existed 1,000 years ago, as well as having the DNA of an ancient tree around the same yearly span. These Pokémon are very feral, and should only be handled by very skilled trainers, as these Pokémon are prone to attack everything that provokes it by the most minor of means.
Twilight gulped as she saw the Catombine looking up at her, fangs barred and claws out as it growls. "N-Now now, let's not do something we might regret, Spike, Help me! Please!" Twilight exclaimed to the dragon Pokémon. Spike just lazed about while the wild Catombine lunged at Twilight, scratching her up a bit while Spike laughed at the scene. Soon though, Spike was singing a different tune when the Catombine's claws glowed white and grew in size as it attempted to unleash a few Fury Swipes on him. Spike rolled out of the way and spat out green embers at the Catombine, who then started to retreat up into the tree.
Twilight's clothes were a bit mangled, but other than that, Twilight seemed fine as she picked up Spike. "Are you okay? I bet that'll teach you to just laugh at someone's misfortune." Twilight scolded as Spike lightly snickered. As Twilight began to walk through the grass, she heard the sound of running, and saw a small herd of Catombine running towards her from behind. Twilight screamed as she began to sprint through the route and into a wooded area as the Catombine herd chased after her.
"This is not how I thought this would go!!!" Twilight exclaimed as she ran through the forest. She quickly made a sharp turn into the thick woods as a cliff began to show. Twilight knew she couldn't just run back when those things are after her, so she held Spike in her arms and made a big ol' jump into a huge body of water, hoping with every fiber in her being that those Catombine wouldn't follow her.
Down the stream is a shore, where a regular guy with bright tanned yellow skin and spiked back blue hair with a black jacket and a white tshirt is sitting, petting some sort of electric canine Pokémon during a fishing trip. He notices his line getting pulled in and immediately starts pulling it in, reeling in whatever might be worth the catch.
"Electrike, get ready! We might've caught something big! We hit the jackpot!!" The guy exclaimed, reeling the line in as he pulled on the rod. A huge mass was washed up onto shore, and it was a shivering torn up girl holding a Pokémon in her arms. The girl coughed up a bit of water, as did the dragon Pokémon as the guy helped them up.
"Hey, are you okay? You look absolutely worn out. Here, let me give you this to help you warm up." The guy stated, taking off his jacket as he wrapped it around the girl's body. The girl wiped the water from her eyes as she looked up at the guy, smiling as she got up and picked up her Pokémon in her arms.
"I'm Twilight, nice to meet you." she introduced.
"I'm Flash, nice to make your acquaintance. How'd you end up in the water, anyway?" Flash asked. Before Twilight could answer, she could hear the chittering growls of the Catombine horde chasing after her. She panicked and put the jacket on, grabbing Spike as she quickly ran off.
"Sorry!! Gotta go!! I'll give this back to you someday!!!" Twilight exclaimed as she ran. Flash panicked as several Catombine sped past him and his Electrike, leaving the both of them dazed and confused.
Twilight runs as fast as she can until she suddenly trips and groans, feeling a paralyzing sensation in her knees preventing her from moving anywhere. She looked up and saw the Catombine closing in and she shielded Spike from them, bracing herself for what fate might await her.
"Go on! Attack me! But you won't lay a claw on my Spike!! Come on, Catombine!! Do your worst!" Twilight exclaimed, bracing herself as they lunged towards her. Spike looked up at Twilight and jumped in front of her as the front of his muzzle glowed a bright blue color as a huge wave of bright blue flames erupted out of nowhere, knocking 30 Catombine out as Spike's little body collapsed beside Twilight's, smiling weakly.
"You're a brave little dragon, Spike. I'm glad I chose you." Twilight stated, trying to fight the paralyzing feeling in her knees as she picked up Spike in her arms. She heard a cry of some Pokémon, and looked up, seeing a huge sonic boom forming in the sky, shining a plethora of rainbow colors as Twilight basked in the sight of a flying equine Pokémon with Bat-like wings covered in feathers, 3 legs on each side of its body, and Marble white eyes on a shimmering Velvet coat of fur with a long flowing dark gray mane and vibrant rainbow tail with gray detailing, plus two curved devil horns curling up from the head. The Pokémon whinnied as it galloped across a path of black glittering sparkles as Twilight looked on and marveled at the sight.
"Wow, what kind of Pokémon is that? It's so... majestic." Twilight stated, scanning the Pokémon. The Pokédex beeped and provided a form of an answer.
"This Pokémon cannot be identified at this time. There's still so much to explore about Pokémon and the mysteries behind them." Dexi stated. Twilight smiled and lightly chuckled at the machine's answer as she carried Spike further down the road, knowing that if she was gonna be the Pokémon Champion, and Celestia's true successor, she was going to have to earn that title, and she knew there was only one way to do that.
"I need to find more Pokémon, and then I'll formulate the perfect team... Let's get you healed up, Spike. You outdid yourself pretty well." Twilight stated, lightly jogging down the path.
'This is just the beginning of the amazing adventures of Twilight and Spike. Their journey is destined to be packed with non-stop action, millions of laughs, heart-pounding perils, and endless excitement. Together they'll encounter fantastic friends, evil enemies, and meet creatures beyond their wildest imagination. and as their story unfolds, we'll unlock the magic and mystery of Canteiquis' history.'
(To Be Continued)
Author's Note
So by this point, I've introduced several new Pokémon, and one familiar Pokémon, as well as re-write what happens for the Sonic Rainboom to still be relevant in igniting the eventual meeting up and formation of the Main 6, or in this case, the Trainer 6. Twilight as you can guess, is gonna be our Ash Ketchum, but her adventure will not end in Canteiquis... I will definitely show her going to other regions like Ash does, except she won't forget the basic fundamentals of what being a trainer is about.
But her going to existing regions is for another story. Now it's time to work on Chapter 2, which might be out eventually.
Pokémon: Sparkling Violet
'Last time, Twilight, our heroine from Ponivylle, chose Spike, the Drakonid, a Pokémon who was at first, not too thrilled with its new Trainer. Soon, they found themselves fighting a horde of fearsome Catombine. Spike saved the day with his amazing Dragon Rage, but the blazing encounter made Spike weak, and his fate was in Twilight's hands.'
"We beat 'em. We actually beat 'em, Spike. You're gonna get strong from this, and I'm gonna make sure we become the best." Twilight reassured as she ran towards a nearby city. Spike weakly growled lightly in response as he smiled and let black smoke pour out from his nose.
[Police station in Stablestocks City]
Inside a wooden tower with speakers on top of the roof is a woman, clad in a police style uniform with hints of armor on the body, as well as looking very studious and serious as she adjusts a pair of glasses on her face before reaching for the receiver to broadcast a message. "Attention, citizens of Stablestocks City! We have reports about possible Pokémon thieves in our area! Be on the lookout for suspicious looking strangers! Repeat - Be on the lookout for suspicious looking--"
Her sentence stops as she looks out the window, to see Twilight running to the Pokémon Center. "Huh? Speak of the Devil, and he shall come forth. Time to do my favorite part of the job." The woman states as she quickly makes her way down from the tower and runs towards Twilight, blowing a whistle as she catches her attention.
"Stop! Hold it! And just where do you think you're going with that Pokémon, young lady?" She calls out. Twilight turns around, scared as Spike continues to spew black smoke weakly.
"It's my Pokémon, and it's hurt! And I gotta get it to the center right away, he's suffering!" Twilight exclaimed in a panic.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you might be stealing it. I'm Officer Jenny, by the way, sorry for the misunderstanding. Just show me your ID and you can go on your way. Simple as that." Jenny states. Twilight looked confused for a moment, until she finally remembered something. Handing the officer lady her Pokédex, who then pressed a button on it, displaying the small pixelated smiley face.
"I am Dexi, a PokéDex programmed by Professor Starswirl for newbie Pokémon Trainer, Twilight Sparkle of the town of Ponivylle. My function is to provide Twilight with information and advice regarding Pokémon and their Training. If lost, destroyed or stolen, I cannot be replaced." Dexi stated.
"Boy am I glad that I remembered my ID is in my PokéDex, otherwise I would've been in big trouble." Twilight said, blushing like crazy as she nervously laughed. The woman examined the device and handed it back to Twilight, who promptly put it back in her pocket. "So, may I be able to take Spike to the Pokémon Center now? I don't know how much longer he'll last, and I don't even know where I'm going." Twilight added worriedly.
"Ah might be able to help ya." A new voice calls out. Twilight and Jenny look around and see a lightly faded, but tanned orange skinned girl with green eyes freckles, and a long set of blonde hair tied back and bunched with a thick red rubber band. She wore a cowboy hat and a white shirt with green detailing and a brown leather vest with black spots on it. She wore baggy jeans with a brown belt holding them up with an apple shaped belt buckle. She wore thigh high Cowboy boots and had three Poke Balls hanging off of her belt notches. She hopped out of the front seat of a wagon, which was being pulled by a Mudsdale and a Rapidash, and approached the two casually.
"Mah name's Applejack, I couldn' help but overhear ya got yerself a problem with gettin' to the center? I can get ya there in no time at all. I just got done with making deliveries, so you can ride safely in the back of tha cart. We'll be quick, but we'll also be gentle-like, as to not hurt the poor critter." Applejack offered, gesturing to Spike. Twilight knew she didn't know her way around Stablestocks City that well, and smiled, shaking Applejack's hand.
"Then let's go. I don't want to see Spike suffer anymore than he already has for my sake. I'm Twilight, and thanks for doing this for me, Applejack. It means a lot to me, even if we just met." Twilight said, climbing into the back of the wagon. Officer Jenny went back up to her tower as the cart took off, moving fast through the streets as the equine Pokémon picked up the pace.
Near a cross walk, was Flash, who was still a bit dazed, but was getting around fine as his Electrike guided him through. Flash looked and saw a wagon being pulled by two strong equine Pokémon, with a country girl in the front, and that Twilight girl sitting in the back.
"Holy cow! Twilight must be in trouble! Electrike, come on! We gotta go help her!" Flash stated, shaking off the dazed feeling and running after the cart as the Electrike followed.
Above in the air was a hot air balloon shaped like a square with fake holes painted on it as two individuals look out from above and grab a stray poster in the wind, consisting of two people, presumably a wanted poster.
"A wanted poster. How indubidably flattering." A deep and flamboyant voice responded. A hand snatched the poster away.
"Flattering? This picture makes me look terrible, like a fate worse than death." A feminine and rash voice objected in an offended tone.
"Then you should be happy that the photographer captured the real you." The deep and flamboyant voice stated. The first person was a man with dark ashy gray skin and red eyes, slick and wavy black hair, and was wearing a purple uniform with a huge fluorescent H on the back, holding what looked like a gemstone studded Poke Ball.
"Exactly. Hence why I look drop dead gorgeous when being nasty~" The feminine and rash voice agreed in a sultry tone. The second person was a woman with darker and blacker skin that shined in the light like it was a glaring plastic sheen. Her hair looked blue and sickly, looking like it had holes in some strands of locks and fierce green eyes that shone with a fiery passion. She wore a slightly skimpier version of the man's uniform, with the same big fluorescent H being on the back, but she also sported some slightly torn up green leggings. She also had a Poke Ball with spider web patterns on it.
"We'll show these bumpkins, Chryssi. We'll make them rue this day and never forget it." The man stated evilly, rubbing the woman's shoulders.
"The people of Stablestocks City will be sorry they ever saw this face, Umbros. I will make sure I see that their love will be shattered and thrown back into their eyes as we knock them flat!" Chryssi sinisterly stated. From between the two humans came a Pokémon, one with a monkey-like body and small stature with white fur and fangs as well as a small lightning bolt shaped tuft of fluff on its head and a slightly jagged tail. It grinned maliciously.
"We're all sorry to see your face, lady. Stay focused. We're here to capture rare and unusual Pokémon, especially ones of the more... mythical status. Don't forget, Zap!" The small Pokémon stated in a goofy, but commanding voice.
"Absolutely." Umbros stated dignifiedly.
"But of course, Kilochimp." Chryssi stated casually.
"Zap! Zap! Hahaha!! And just remember, I'm the ape with the plan to escape." Kilochimp stated sporadically.
"You got it." Chryssi said.
"Zap zap!! Hoho!! Ha!!" Kilochimp exclaimed excitedly.
Back on the ground, Twilight and Applejack are still riding on the wagon, which is now hurtling down the road at top speed. Ahead of them was the Pokémon Center, coming into view.
"There it is, Twilight. The Pokémon Center, Finally, at last!" Applejack stated, trying to get the cart to slow down. Twilight looked at the center and was a bit intimidated, but also impressed.
"The Pokémon Center... it's huge! Gigantic, even!" Twilight said aloud, clutching onto Spike more. The cart showed no signs of slowing down as the Mudsdale and Rapidash were heading for the door.
"This is gonna be tricky, hang on tight, sugarcube!" Applejack exclaimed as the cart clears the staircase at the front entrance, and the equine Pokémon pulling it break free and run back to the farm as the cart slides through to the inside as the doors open. The cart comes to a sudden stop at the front desk, and Applejack helps Twilight up as she holds onto Spike for dear life as Applejack engages its emergency brake. The pink haired woman, dressed in a more professional doctor's uniform with a floating bird Pokémon not flapping its wings as it just hovers in the air with a strange mask just looks on bemusedly.
"We have a driveway, you know, Miss MacIntosh." The woman's caring and soft spoken voice says with anger and irritation.
"It's an emergency! We had to go on a Pokémon Crusade to get this poor girl's Pokémon here for treatment." Applejack remarked.
"Please, help Spike! He's my Pokémon, and he pushed himself against a bunch of Catombine who were chasing after us. Please tell me you can help him?" Twilight asked desperately. the Nurse looks over and notices Spike's condition.
"Looks like a Drakonid, which is rare for newbie trainers such as you. We’ll do what we can, don't worry." The nurse stated, going over to one of the computers at her desk and directing the floating bird Pokémon over to look at the screen.
"Quickly get me a stretcher for a small dragon Pokémon, Stat!" the Nurse commanded. The Pokémon cooed in an unsettling way as it suddenly phased through the doors, watching them open as it used some form of telekinesis to move the stretcher to Twilight.
"Don't worry, your Drakonid is in safe hands. Spirinscent, be nice and don't overdo it with the gemstone therapy, ok? Take it to the Critical care unit, Pronto." The nurse reassured. The floating bird Pokémon, Spirinscent, telekinetically rushed Spike to the back room where the doors closed, and the process was going to be long and tedious.
"We'll begin the treatment right away." the Nurse stated. She looked at Twilight with uncertainty, but had a hunch about her that she needed to reassure.
"Uh..." Twilight said, a bit nervous that the nurse was staring at her.
"Who are you, young lady?" Nurse Joy inquired curiously.
"Her name's Twilight. She's that there Pokémon's trainer." Applejack stated, patting her back. The nurse's expression soured a bit as she looked at Twilight.
"Please, miss. If there's anything I can do for Spike, please just tell me." Twilight said.
"You can be more responsible. If you want to became a Pokémon trainer, young man, you don’t let your Pokémon battle till it’s at critical condition. Pokémon abuse is no laughing matter." The nurse said firmly.
"But you don’t know what happened. I was being chased by a horde of Catombine and Spike overexerted himself trying to save me. I'm not a Pokémon abuser! Who would be that sick in the head to do something so cruel?!" Twilight argued. The nurse's expression lessened and softened up.
"What's past is past. Now we have to heal your Drakonid." The nurse stated.
"Wait, is there anything I can do to help at least?" Twilight asked.
"Just leave everything to me. You got it here just in time thankfully." The nurse said.
"Well hooey, ah guess e'erything's in your hands now, Doc. Ah'd leave Twilight and the Drakonid in your care, but ah think ah'll stick around, see how this plays out. Besides, ah finished my deliveries anyway, and my cart's obviously not going anywhere." Applejack stated, pointing to the slightly collapsed and broken cart.
"Yes, I can see that. Though you must understand, next time, use the driveway. We have it for a reason. Twilight, you and your friend here will have to wait in the waiting room." The nurse responded, walking into the back.
"Spike... I better call home, let my parents know everything's fine." Twilight said, walking over to a video caller device.
"Hello, this is Twilight Velvet speaking, how may I help you?~" Velvet asked in a singing tone.
"Hey mom, it's me. Twilight. I'm calling from the Pokémon center in Stablestocks City." Twilight replied.
"You're there already, sweetie? You got there fast! I guess Spike's been having your back the whole way through. Your father just left for a meeting, but I'm sure he's just as proud of the sparkling apple in his eye as much as I am, Twilight." Velvet responded happily.
"Yeah, a rotten apple, that is... I almost died, I could've drowned or got mauled by a horde of Catombine... Maybe... Maybe Celestia was wrong about me..." Twilight responded somberly.
"Oh honey, don’t get discouraged. You’re doing fine, Twilight. You’re growing up right before my eyes spreading your wings and soaring like a Spearow." Velvet encouraged.
"I feel more like a Pidgey with clipped wings, mom." Twilight responded.
"Twilight Sparkle, I won’t let you talk about yourself that way. Just be confident! You can do anything that you set your mind to. Do you understand, young lady?" Velvet stubbornly encouraged her daughter.
"Yes, thank you mom, I've just been in a funk recently." Twilight stated, smiling a bit.
"And are you changing your contacts every day?" Velvet inquired.
"Yeah, I am. I'm gonna turn in for the night, Goodnight, Mom. I miss you." Twilight stated, smiling.
"I miss you too, Twilight, Goodnight. I love you!" Velvet stated, hanging up the call. Twilight sits back as she sighs, wondering about a lot of things as she saw this Applejack girl sit by her, trying to help her feel better.
"Not too used to bein' this far from home, are ya?" Applejack asked, like she knew something with that smile of hers.
"I didn't think things would be so difficult right from the start. First I get my starter Pokémon, then I get chased down by a horde of wild Catombine, and then... and then I see this huge, beautiful, mysterious Pokémon flying in front of what looks like a sonic boom made... of rainbows." Twilight slowly got up and saw a big ancient mural of that same Pokémon she encountered.
"That’s the flying Pokémon I saw... I have to get some form of confirmation." Twilight stated, rushing back to the communications device and was about to make a call, until the video thing suddenly started ringing. Twilight answered and hoped it wasn't a wrong number.
"Hello? This is Twilight, who's calling?" Twilight asked cautiously.
"Yes, Twilight. It's me, over here. Professor Starswirl. Don't you recognize me?" Starswirl stated, his head turned away.
"Um, not really, probably because you're not facing towards me, and I can see the back of your head?" Twilight stated.
"Ugh, wrong camera. I'm gonna have to get Sunburst to re-familiarize me with video communications. But nevertheless, I just got a call from your parents, saying you made it to the Pokémon Center in Stablestocks City, is this true?" Starswirl inquired.
"Yeah. I mean, I wouldn't be talking to you if I wasn't here, Prof." Twilight responded with a smile. Starswirl nodded and chuckled lightly as a saccharine grin formed on his bearded face.
" I suppose that proves it to me that the other new Pokémon trainers made it there with no problem and I’m pleasantly surprised you got there so soon. I admit, when you left, I had my doubts that you cloud handle your Drakonid, but my ex-student Trixie said that you wouldn’t have a single new Pokémon by the time you got to Stablestocks City. I bet her a million dollars that she’d be wrong. On an unrelated topic, how many Pokémon have you caught so far?" Starswirl asked sheepishly.
"It's still only me and Spike, but I will build up my team, I'm not going to let one bad hiccup derail me from becoming a Pokémon Master." Twilight said with determination in her voice. Starswirl chuckled happily.
"Hey Professor, while I have you on the line, do you recognize this Pokémon in the mural? I saw it flying overhead on my way to Stablestocks, but it seemed to have created a sonic boom, but with rainbows. it sounds incredibly farfetched, but I can guarantee you, I'll be looking into what that Pokémon is as well." Twilight stated, letting the professor examine the mural of a winged equine Pokémon with long and slightly curved horns and 6 legs.
"Hmm... definitely looks interesting. If you truly did see this Pokémon on your way here, then this is a sign. I want you to look into what that Pokémon is, but don't stop trying to become a Pokémon Master, let that be your main ambition, for Celestia's sake anyway. Ah, There’s my pizza. It was very nice talking to you, Twilight. And Good luck. Anchovies, spinach and sausage pizza, what a delicacy." Starswirl stated. The call is ended and the front doors of the center burst open, revealing an exhausted but determined Flash, as well as Electrike.
"Don't... *pant* worry... *huff* Twilight, I'm here to... *huff* to help." Flash said exhaustedly, trying to catch his breath. Applejack looked at the sweating guy and back at Twilight, who was veritably confused.
"What happened to you, Pardner? You look like ya fought a twister in a Cabbombage patch in a rainstorm." Applejack said, helping Flash to a chair. The guy rubbed his head as his Electrike hopped into his lap, resting lazily as it drifted off to sleep.
"Oh you know, just trying to get my jacket back. Not that I don't mind you having it, I offered it to you so you could dry off after I fished you out of the lake. I hope I'm not interrupting anything important." Flash explained, gesturing to the jacket Twilight was still wearing.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to suddenly run off. I was just scared." Twilight apologized, bowing her head.
Flash chuckled and pat her shoulder. "It's fine, besides, if you hadn't run, those Catombine would've had you and your Pokémon cornered... speaking of which, where is your Pokémon?" Flash asked curiously, not seeing Spike anywhere.
"Pardner, chill. The Drakonid is getting the best care from the nurse. Is he a friend of yours, sugarcube?" Applejack asked.
"We only just met a little bit of a ways back on the previous route. He quite literally had me hooked as he pulled me and Spike out of the water. I knew from extensive research and study that Catombine hate the water, as they can't swim. I guess I didn't count for the fact that the air got knocked out of me by a rock, and it left me dazed while me and Spike were in the water, drifting down stream..." Twilight explained.
Flash sighed and pat Twilight on the back. "Hey, you couldn't have known. Besides, newbies make mistakes, and so do even elite trainers. I mean, I hear that the champion in Galar once ended up in Kalos just trying to get to the front door. And yet, he's still the champion. Don't let it bother you so much, just learn from your mistakes." Flash stated smiling.
Soon after, the doors open up, the Spirinscent and the Nurse walk out, pulling the stretcher over with Spike wrapped a bit in bandages with ash on his body. Twilight immediately shot up and ran over, worried out of her mind.
"Spike, are you alright?" Twilight asked, wiping her eyes as she looked down at the exhausted dragon.
"Your Drakonid’s resting. It’s a good thing you got it here so fast. The procedure went well and it should be fine. Just try to be more careful with your inability to properly care for your Pokémon." The nurse stated, her last few words being lined with a bitter feeling.
"Thank you so much, I don't know what I'd do if I lost Spike." Twilight said, carrying the dragon in her arms.
"Mighty kind of ya to lend a hand, doc." Applejack stated.
"Now your Pokémon needs a good rest in the recovery room. You should go in there with him, Twilight." The nurse stated.
As Twilight was about to go into the back, the sound of a microphone screeching in the distance flares to life.
"Attention, citizens of Stablestocks City! We have reports about the Pokémon thieves in the area! They are on their way to the Pokémon Center! Repeat - They are on their way to the Pokémon Center! Exercise Extreme Cautio--" The door to the center blows open, revealing three individuals. One being a tall man with a thick cigar in his mouth and a slightly taller woman with a muffin in her hand and crumbs on her face. The third individual was a small but evil looking ape-like Pokémon.
"Prepare for trouble, you plebian fools..."
"And make it double, we'll break you like tools..."
"To assess carnage and devastation..."
"To conquer cities to claim for our nation..."
"Chryssi~"
"And Umbros~"
Team Hivemind, growing at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to FIGHT!"
"Ohohoho!! Kilochimp!! Let's zap these whelps!"
Twilight, Nurse Joy, Applejack and Flash looked at the individuals with silence and confusion.
"So... who are you guys again? I don't think I heard you over the spontaneous amounts of flamboyancy reeking off of you." Flash retorted seriously, readying a Poke Ball as his Electrike stood up, growling at the individuals.
The tall man seemed to have popped a nerve upon hearing Flash's comment as his hair seemed to wave like a flame as his gray face got redder with rage. "WHAT?! FLAMBOYANCY?! HOW DARE YOU MISTAKE DRAMA AND THEATRICS FOR FLAMBOYANCY!!!" Umbros exclaimed, his voice getting lower and hoarse as he got angry, clutching on his gem studded Poke Ball.
"Calm yourself, Umbros, we're here for the Pokémon, not to discuss sexuality." Chryssi stated, grinning.
Twilight gritted her teeth as she held Spike close to her chest. "You aren't going to lay a hand on my Spike!" Twilight responded with anger. Chryssi just laughed.
"Please, we're here for the strong and rare Pokémon, not your stupid sick gecko." Chryssi remarked.
Applejack stood by Flash, pulling out a Poke Ball of her own. "Ya'll are startin' to piss me off like a Tauros who got nicked in the backside by an ornery Cacturne! There's only weak and helpless Pokémon here, ya shady varmints!" Applejack gritted.
"Ugh... that may be true, farm girl, but there's still gotta be a few rare gems amongst the common filth. And if you won't step aside, then we'll go through you plebs by force! Ready, Chryssi?" Umbros stated, looking to the woman beside him, who was already pulling out her web patterned Poke Ball.
"Born ready. Come forth, Durant!!" Chryssi exclaimed, tossing the Poke Ball up as a new Pokémon appeared. This Pokémon looked like a big gray ant with beady red eyes and a metal shell with steel pincers.
"Fight for me, Sableye!!" Umbros exclaimed, calling forth a small dark purple gremlin shaped Pokémon with a sharp toothy smile and gemstone eyes as it cackled menacingly.
Electrike stood in front of Flash, setting its sights on the Sableye as Applejack threw up her Poke Ball. "Get on out 'ere, Applin! Show these varmints what for!" Applejack exclaimed. The Pokémon that came out was a small red apple creature with two angry slug-like eyes and a slugworm-like tail.
Twilight backed away as she held Spike in her arms, dreading what might happen. Nurse Joy suddenly got an idea. "Twilight, I want you to stay right here, and do not move or let that Drakonid out of your sight. I'll be right back!" Nurse Joy stated, running into the back.
Sableye and Durant lunge forward, ready to attack as Applin and Electrike dodge out of the way, letting the two Pokémon crash to the ground. Twilight held Spike close, trying to shield him from the battle until the medical ward doors slammed open, with the nurse holding a glowing rock in her hand.
"Twilight, feed this to Drakonid!" The nurse stated, tossing the rock to Twilight. She barely catches it and feeds it to Spike gingerly as Spike suddenly leapt up to his feet, his green eyes burning with determination.
Chryssi and Umbros both chuckled. "Oh, and what are you going to do? Shake your tail at me?" Umbros teased. Spike's light green fins began to glow, igniting in a bright blue hue of light.
"Twilight, tell your Drakonid to attack!" The nurse instructed. Spike growled as it smiled at Twilight, nodding its head.
"Right! Spike, use Dragon Rage!!!" Twilight exclaimed. Spike took in a deep breath as a similar color of energy swirled around his muzzle as he grunted out and spew a beam of energy at the invading intruders, blasting the roof of the Pokémon Center into the sky, as well as sending Umbros, Chryssi and Kilochimp flying out of the area.
"Well, safe to say, that was no ordinary Drakonid. Never saw or felt a Dragon Rage that strong!" Umbros stated in surprise.
"Naturally. Looks like we may have a new main target, and while we get other weaker Pokémon, we'll get stronger and we'll take that stupid girl's Drakonid with ease!" Chryssi plotted.
"Yeah, that'll be fun! We'll make sure that Purple haired twig gets slim to none! Ohhohoho!!!" Kilochimp agrees.
"But for now..." Umbros states as they start to get out of view.
"We're blasting off for the first time!!!" They exclaim. A glinting star shines in the bright blue sky.
As Nurse Joy and Spirinscent are fixing the Pokémon Center, Officer Jenny pulls up as the doors are fixed.
"I assume those kids were a bit much for you, Joy?" Jenny asked coyly. The nurse smirked as she hooked the door back into place and walked over to greet the officer as she wiped some sweat from her forehead.
"Those kids weren't the issue, those thieves were. they went down that way, but I hope they can make it through the Whitetail Woods alright, things have been getting dangerous, even for such a small wooded area." Nurse Joy remarked.
"Don’t worry, from what I heard about those three, they can take pretty good care of themselves well. I even heard that Twilight girl was supposedly the champion's apprentice. Kind of a big honor to have her ask you to help heal her Drakonid, on behalf of Celestia no less, huh, Joy?" Jenny said with a smile. The Nurse's face flushed as it went white as it shivered.
[The entrance of Whitetail Woods]
A shrill scream echoed through the wooded area, and it shows Applejack panicking as she scrambles to climb onto Flash's back.
"Applejack, what's wrong? What happened?" Twilight asked, looking at her frantic friend.
"Look at tha ground, pardner! Look at what's lookin' back at me!!" Applejack exclaimed as she frantically pointed towards a new Pokémon. It was a type of worm, but it also seemed to have grub-like features, like small thin and stubby black legs, and three big ol' red eyes. Twilight chuckled as she reached down and pet the bug Pokémon as it seemed to smile and let out a gurgled cooing sound as it snuggled into Twilight's hand.
"Applejack, it's just a Grubborm. It's one of the common Bug Pokémon found in the Whitetail Woods. Usually they try to block paths because they're hungry. I wonder why this one isn't." Flash stated.
"If that's the case, shouldn't ya'll do something? Even it is a Pokémon, Bugs are disgustin' little varmints who terrorize my orchard every harvest season, along with them pesky Murkrows and Cardinace. I don’t like 'em. Knock it out, Twilight!" Applejack reprimanded, shuddering as she looked at the bug Pokémon.
Twilight smiled, ignoring Applejack's rude comment for the moment as she pulls out a Poke Ball and reels her arm back. "I'll do one better, I'm gonna catch it! This should be a piece of cake. Poke Ball, Go!!" Twilight stated, throwing the Poke Ball at the already giddy Grubborm.
'After a hectic trip to the Pokémon Center, and clashing with the likes of Team Hivemind, Twilight will have to really buckle down and build her team and help them be the best. Will Twilight capture the Grubborm? What sinister Plans are being concocted by Team Hivemind? Will Flash ever get his jacket back, or will he get a new one? All these answers will be on the next chapter! As the journey continues!'
(To Be Continued)
Author's Note
So, from here on out, I'm going to definitely change the story of how things are structured. And I do want to clear up a few things.
Umbros and Chryssi. Obviously I made Sombra and Chrysalis into humans and not stand alone powerful Pokémon. I'm not doing that, especially since I have plans. And for some of you who watched the MLP Movie, I'm sure you can figure who I made Meowth, and no, it wasn't Grubber.
Now, why did I make Sombra/Umbros this way, when in canon, Sombra is no team player?
Well, I looked for close parallels to who could match up with the canon Pokémon characters. Naturally, I made Chrysalis into Jessie, cause both seem like queen bees, and they are both leaders in some sort of way.
And Sombra was to replace James due to a more manual connection to their characters. Assumed to be Flamboyant, Both are from rich, powerful or royal families, but their similarities end there. Sombra wanted a royal lifestyle as a dark and shadowy leader, while James wanted out of such a lifestyle in his former life as an heir to millionaires. I'll be incorporating both of these stories into something that can definitely work.
So, with Flash paling around with them, it makes sense since Flash is taking the gym challenge as well, but with Applejack coming along, she basically had Twilight and Flash wait at the center so she could take the broken cart back to the orchard in Stablestocks City, and was able to come along with them just to help them out of a tight spot, whenever that may be.
Anywho, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and my explanations after for my process of writing this chapter specifically, because my good gracious... if enough people like this, lemme tell ya, it's gonna be a pretty good story if people enjoy it. I went in on this story, and it won't be the end, that'll just be a massive cuckold to people who actually enjoy this story.
Anywho, my fellow Bronies, Pegasisters, and everyone else, I'll see you in the next chapter if you really enjoyed this. And remember...
Gotta Catch 'Em All!!
