Maybe, just maybe, they should have listened, but how could one predict what would happen? Many would have I suppose, but I guess they were too blind to see it.

"You have a lot to think about." She said as she passed by Twilight.
"No." Rainbow, who was ready to say something turned her head toward her marefriend
"I do not. Since the start, again, and again i warned you all, I added proofs and seen more and more signs of this pony not being cadance." the princess stopped and, hearing the voice of twilight with such animosity made her friends stops. "Again and again you told me 'She is stressed because of her wedding, she has a lot to manage, you should understand.' 'It's not her fault, a wedding can be stressful' and you? Oh no! The all-lnowing princess of Equatria has more to do than to listen to her student, surely she know more about a pony than the one who spent her entier childhood with, how could I even dare think to know better of her!"

"Twilight! I order you stop immediatly!" said the princess, anger pointing in her voice.
"I don't care what you want, Rainbow was here, I showed up and she understood what I meant, and this because she cared enough to listen to what I had to say! Not like my friends that decided to suddenly forget that they had promised, after an incident that should have taugh us all something about friendship, that they will never ignore a problem of mine if I started to become hysterical about it" she scoffed a bit
"Oh no! They were too busy looking good for the Princesses of Equestria and the captain of the royal guards! How foolish of me to think that THEY WOULD EVEN CARE A LITTLE ABOUT THEIR OWN FUCKING FRIENDS! YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN DEEPSHIT COWARDLY FUCKERS!"

"Twilight! How could you say somehi-" Rarity was cut short by Twilight. "Oh? So that all that matters? the fact that 'Im being FUCKING vulgar when FUCKING Speaking? Let me laught a bit! You four are meant to be my friends, to support me when things aren't going well, listen to me when I need to be listened to, but you? YOU? You are the worst being that coudl ever exists!" She took a deep breath, anger clearly seen on her face and the five other mare frozen from what they just heard.

"Twi-" started the princess before being cut off again
"All of you! I hate all of you! For two years I've been your friends and for two years you've been using me to get closer to the princess and your own self-gain! You nearly killed us both with rainbow at the last summer sun celebration! and for what? Because you were too dense to leave us alone for our first days as marefriends! Then you have the promise that you broke of today multiple times because, how could a pony know better than the Princess that we all love and cheris! DO YOU EVEN HAVE SPINES?!" she turned toward Celestia.

"And don't get me started on you, Celestia! The O-great immortal ruller of Equestria, all-knowing and all-wise, not even Capable of defending her nation HERSELF?! Hiding behind mares like us to do the dirty work that you are too busy to do? Training a student but not even listening to what she could say? Sending her to fight foe that she can't beat without pretty-looking stones while she could have done it alone? Wait..." She marked a pause before a smirk appeared
"Oh, my bad. I said you were too busy to listen to me but you obviously have all the time needed time to spare some and see your niece enough and know her more than me. That's why you know about the bride being that real cadance, how stupid of me to think you wouldn't! That's why you probably know everypony better, beause you have all the time you want to meet them!" she let out a chuckle "How foolish of me I would have even a chance to be listened to with an all-knowing methor and power-carving friends. I guess I was too dense to see that you were all using me.

she started walking toward the exit of the room but just before leaving she turned back to her former friends and menthor. "I am leaving, I do not want to see any of you again nor to hear of any of you. Do not search for because even if you did found me, it would be pointless. When everything will be over and the true cadance is back, I'll let you explain her why I am not here and what happened, it will be very fun to explain! Too bad I won't be here to see it." she started to go again before stoping "One last thing, knows that Cadance, the true one, and Luna are still dear to my heart, and consequently, the only ponies I still think as friends and trustworthy. May you all live a life full of regret!" and with those last words, she left the room.

There was a tense silence in the room for a moment, before the blue pegasus in the room decided to break it. "You know, I liked you all. You were my friends and I am loyal to my friends. Sadly, I can't consider ponies that don't care about their own friends mine." she looked at all of them one by one before walking toward the exit herself. "I would hold my breath if I were you, you broke her heart and there's nothing you can do. Don't you know? True friends stabs you in the front. But I guess you wouldn't know that do you? it's not like you cared for anypony else, even long-time friends." and with tose last words she left down te hallway, leaving behind five mares and a dragon silent and alone in the throne room.

'Why would the castle be so calm and empty, didn't they had planned the wedding for today?'
As she waked toward the dining room, the silence only growing the feeling of wrongness, more question started to arise.
'Shouldn't there be more guards? It's an important wedding from what I had heard from sister. Could it means that the wedding has ended? Have I slept that much?' she checked on the moon's position 'It does looks like I did' she suddenly stopped
'wasn't there a few guards that came during the day? This is probably why i slept so much, I'll have to tell sister to warn her guards not to wake me up in the middle of the day, I fear I might hurt one' as she continued, lost in her thoughts, she didn't see the remanents of the battles that occured outside, open for all to see.

Opening the doors of the dining room, she looked around and seeing that he sister wasn't alone only said "Greeting, I appologise, for I apparently missed your wedding, dear niece. How has been your day sister dear?" only then did she noticed the heavy silence reigning in the room.
Without a word she walked to her sit. Once she reached it, she decided to enquire more about the situation.
"Am I right if I guess that the missing of Twilight Sparkle and her marefriend at this table might be one of reason for the silence of this room?" No words were spoken but the looks of every pony at the stable was everything she need. Only Candance held her head high, looking angrily to everypony at the table.

"So that's how it's gonna be? We are gonna ignore what happened, act like nothing wrong was done and in a few week everything will be forgotten?" seeing the lack of reaction, Luna decided to intervene "May I enquire about what you just said?" Cadance let out a sigh before speaking

"As you can see, we are missing Twilight and Rainbow Dash and you may have not noticed it, I do know you are not one to fully wake up quickly, but there have been fightings outside the castly." she took a deep breath and held it a little before continuing, "Around five days ago I was captured and replaced by changelings, more precisely by a changeling queen. Apparently no pony noticed since the usurpator continuously put it off any unusual behavior as stress from the wedding's preparations, I-" she was cut off by a small laugh from Luna "you don't mean to tell me that none of the here present ponies noticed that you, of all ponies, should not be stressed by a wedding? You are joking right? If there is one thing I did learned about you since I returned, it is that you can not be stressed over a matter of love" looking around she noticed that he words did not appeared to be understood as she intended. looking back at Cadance she noticed that, she too didn't reacted as intened and was, again looking at the ponies around her with a mixt of anger and disapointment.

"Sadly, aunty Luna, it seems that you were to only one to think that way, at least at this table. Now, on the reason why Twilight is here, she came to the same conclusion as you, not believing the excuses and trying to make her friends and mentor see it too. In short, they didn't believed her, even after she showed them more proofs. The last time she tried, she got told not to come at the wedding by her brother and your sister here told her to think about everything that happened." the dark look the two got as she was speaking showed how unhappy she was about what happened.

"Where I first though that she would have tried to excuse herself to the usurpator, it appeared that the event of last summer sun celebration and the fact that Rainbow Dash didn't believed and understood Twilight's though made her reaction a bit more... extreme. I do not know what she said exactly but I do know that she left after it saying that she would never come back, Rainbow naturally followed, adding the fact that, as the element of loyalty, she didn't want to be friend with ponies using others for their own gain." she looked back at Luna before saying one last thing "They truely left, we have no idea where and the events of the day did not gave us the time to search for them."

Luna nodded before looking back toward her sister, "May I ask you, sister, what happened to the changeling queen? taking in that the main preoccupation is Twilight Sparkle's disapearance, I suppose no pony has been badly hurt and that they have been succesfuly pushed back from Canterlot.
Celestia sighed before talking, "On the contrary of the current state of their relations, when Chrysalis, the Changeling queen, attacked, Shinning Armor and Cadance were still in love, we were losing and overwelmed but when they managed find each other, Cadance gave enough magic to Shining Armor so he could recreate a shield and eject all changelings from the city."

"I suppose I will have to start looking for Twilight then, the night has come and you all seems very tired, you should all go to sleep, you too sister." said Luna before standing up "I will see the cooks for them to prepare me a coffee, I think they forgot about it inthe coffusion." as she headed out of the room, four ponies noticed that, even if her tone was as polite as when she entered the room, there was a new coldness that appeared when Celestia was evoked.

Slowly, they all got up one by one and left the room, only lasted one dragon that hadn't said a word since Twilight left. He left sometimes later, still silent.

Looking out toward the sky, he waited.
He should have listened, she might not have gotten as angry as she was.
He might have beenable to do something.
What was he waiting for?
for her to come back?
For her to pardon him?
For him to accept that he has been a bad assistant?
For her to tell him he was a bad one?
He should have listened...
Now it's too late, he knows it.
They all have hopes, he knows it.
He doesn't have any.
He knows it was already prepared long ago.
He though it was just another useless 'just-in-case' plan that will never be used.
He knows it's already waaay too late.
But they won't believe him, they are too hopeful.
They don't understand that it's for good this time.
They didn't even took the time to look out for him.
He was left aside again.
Unimportant.
Useless.
Funny.
Mascot-ish.
Nothing.
Why didn't she looked at him? she usually do it in those moments. It would have made him happy.
She doesn't care enough.
There wasn't ever any moment like that before.
How foolish to think she would do it.

"Spike?"
The dragon turned around instantly. It was her! she came back for him!
Nothing.
An hallucination...

"Why are you still awake? I though you were supposed to get to sleep early?"
He turned around once more.
Nothing again.
Turning back to the window he noticed the fait glimmer.
"Princess Luna?"
Why would she be here? she said she was going to look out for Twilight...
"You know something, do you? You don't have the false hope of finding her again, you don't have the will of making things right again like the other elements."
she walked slowly to stop beside him, looking out toward the sky.
"You know that you will never see her again."
"I... She had it all prepared. She's always so meticulous and preventing. I think she first did it because she though that her relation with rainbow could make problems. i think she first though to prepare it in case she needed to leave alone, or with me. The last summersun celebration made her really axious of her relation, she enjoyed it so much, I know it and she wouldn't be able to deny it. But the events from back then made her believe that it might be a problem."
the dragon sighed, looking at the stars.

"I do know where she has gone, I know she won't come back and I know she was sincere."
"If they knew, I will probably be forced to tell them where she went." he continued
"I can't tell them. She said she didn't want any of us to follow her, even if we knew where she was, i can't do this to her" slowly, a few tears started to fall on the ground.
The princess of the night looked down on him, she smiled, a compassionate smile. "You care for her, more than any of them. You care enough to let her go even if you know where she has gone. I do not know whether or not she noticed that you knew where she went, but if she did, the fact that you stayed here and let her leave will prove that you care."

"You may never see her again," she turned her look toward the sky, "But if you do, it would be better if you could show her that you really care, not with words and excuses, but by respecting her will and accepting that you dd something wrong for her." She too let out a sigh.
"I lied aerlier. I won't be looking for her, I only said that to see the reactions you all would have. Cadance doesn't want me to do it, you find it useless, The other hopes I will succes. My sister don't seem to have learned anything in the last thousand years."

She turned toward the little dragon once more. "No matter what, I will always be here if you have any problem. You will probably have to live with the other elements back at ponyville, and seeing how affected they are, things might not be as good as they were before for a long time."
He looked up at her, he already knew it, nothing will be the same, but at least now he has somepony to talk to, somepony who came to him seeing that he wasn't alright.
he nodded and looked back to the sky, a small smile on his lips.
"you should be alseep by now. Do not fret, I will watch over your dreams for you need a lot of sleep"

A bit later, as he fell asleep, he couldn't stop the though that, one day he will be able to see her again.
One day, things will be better, not as they were before, but a different kind of good.
