"Come on, J! We're gonna leave ya if you don't hurry up!" Yelled my friend Cody, dressed as MegaGargomon. Though he seemed not the type for ballistic battles, he enjoyed the moments his cosplay character had in the Digimon series.
"I'm coming! Sheesh, you know how hard it is to make sure the wings won't fall off this!? Sorry for causing you to grow old, 'your majesty.'" I explained while also retorting at his impatience.
I bet you're curious as to what is going on and why this is in a fiction area dedicated to MLP, right? Well, this is how my adventure started. The name is Jason Vacs, but many call me simply J. As for what I'm dressed as, I decided to recreate Gallantmon: Crimson Mode as a cosplay. And yes, the wings are also a pain to keep on as they are styrofoam and the clasps don't want to stay latched. Me and my friend Cody are heading to a convention dedicated to Digimon. I will say about the newest series Digimon Adventure 2020 that it's so far an interesting series, but enough of that. Apparently, the original cast of Tamers was going to be there answering questions about the series to fans who had speculations on the future.
As Cody and I entered the hall, I was left speechless by all the cosplays I witnessed. Seeing a Beelzemon Blast mode to even Justimon, I was practically holding myself back from admiring the works. Cody nudges me back to reality and I look to him (a bit hard with how my costume was designed), nodding as I recalled our plan. Get some souvenirs, head to the open talk with the voice actors, and then head to the food court. That was our plan.
As we walked, I notice in one of the many stalls a replica of Gungnir, the lance Gallantmon Crimson Mode wields and also a mini Grani figure. I walk to the stall, followed by Cody as he seemed to have noticed something as well in the same stall.
"My.... very intricate costumes of two mighty Mega levels, you two." Came a voice from inside the booth. Said voice apparently belonged to a man dressed as a creepy figure known as The Merchant in Resident Evil. Recalling a rumor I heard, I decide to question if I should buy something.
"Thank you, sir. My friend J put a lot of effort to replicate his favorite Digimon. I can't say the same for myself, though. The only main issue is that I couldn't make the gauntlets 'or match MegaGargomon's height.'" Replied Cody, joking on the last bit. The merchant chuckled, liking the joke and also seeming like a good person.
Seeing this, I relax and point to the Grani and Gungnir lance. "How much for these?"
The merchant seems to think about it, looking over my costume.
"For you while missing your main weapon, I'd say $50 for the Gungnir lance and another $15 for the Grani figure." He then looks to Cody and pulls out two wrist gauntlets that would perfect his costume. "And for you I'll charge just $30 for these wrist blaster gauntlets."
"I don't know... These items seem all too good to be true, and the price you are giving us smells of a hitch. J, let's-"
"Here you go!" I happily exclaim, handing over the exact amount for all the props for my Gallantmon costume. Cody face palms as I giddily give the Gungnir lance a couple practice swings.
"Thank you my good sir. I hope you have a safe yet heroic journey." The merchant replied, a sinister smirk slightly shown from under his hood. As I began to walk away, I began to notice everything around me began to fade into white, the last sound I could hear was Cody.
"Jason!"
Everfree Forest: Outside the Castle of the Two Sisters
Pain.
"Uhhhh.... My head....." I said, reaching a claw to my throbbed cranium.
Wait.....
I open my eyes, looking at a scaly red arm with three claws. I then recalled my voice sounded more childish, like that of....
I jump up, finding it awkward for a moment as I notice I now have red scaled feet with three toes each. Feeling something on my rear make contact with some bushery, I turn my head towards my back and see a red tail with black striping. Feeling the top of my head, I confirm my final suspicions as I find two wing-like ears on my head.
"I AM GUILMON!?"
Fluttershy's cottage
As Fluttershy tended to feeding her animal friends of the forest, several birds quickly fly in and knocked a couple squirrels off their perch and start chirping in hysteria while the squirrels wobbly recover from their sudden drop.
"Oh my, are you all alright?" Asked Fluttershy, only to get an outburst from the birds. Waving her hands, she calmed them back into silence.
"Okay, okay. Calm down and repeat one at a time."
One bird hops off the branch and lands on Fluttershy's head, explaining the situation.
"Oh my! A scream scared you from near the Princesses old castle? Do you think it's a hurt animal?"
The birds shook their head, showing they were in the area before getting spooked.
"Well, what was it then?"
After a few more chirps, Fluttershy paled at what they described.
"A-a r-r-red dr-dragon?" She asked to confirm. The birds all nod in unison.
Suddenly, the joyful yell of a cyan mare with prismatic hair came from nearby and drawing Fluttershy's attention. Her friends Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Twilight Sparkle came over, carrying baskets and a giant blanket for a picnic they had planned.
"Heya 'Shy. You seem spooked. What happ'ned?" Asked Applejack, her southern drawl easily identifiable.
"M-my bird friends from the Castle of the Two Sisters seen a d....dr........"
"A what?" Suddenly bounced Pinkie Pie.
".....dragon."

Guilmon (Jason) meets the Mane 6
Panic. Ignoring all the previous pain I was feeling, I was now pacing back and forth in front of the giant old castle. Adrenaline pounding through my head as the panic wouldn't lessen.
"Okay, okay. I bought props from a suspicious vendor, who apparently was the widely rumored Merchant . I'm now in some alternate universe as Guilmon, the rookie Digimon who becomes who I cosplayed as! So far, I have readjusted to having three claws on each hand, yet..." I continue to pace, making a turn and smacking my tail into a tree and wincing at the sudden sting.
"I don't know how to adjust with my new tail sensations, apparently." I finish through gritted fangs.
As this was occupying my current thoughts, I was unaware of a massive figure soon looming over me until their shadow covered me. Looking up slowly, I find myself staring into the eyes of what seemed to be a lion with bat wings and a scorpion tail.
"Um..... nice kitty?"
"ROOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAARG!"
Somewhere on the path to the Castle of Two Sisters
"Huh? Did ya'll hear that?" Questioned Applejack, while Fluttershy listens as well before gasping
"That's Mr. Mitt!"
Before the others could ask who that was, Fluttershy bolted down the path to the castle.
"C'mon girls!" Shouts Twilight, rushing after the pale yellow pegasus.
As the group soon arrives at the bridge to the castle, they see a manticore attacking a red bipedal creature that was screaming in fear.
"Please! It is only a misunderstanding, sir!" Shouted the red creature.
After several minutes of seeing this, Fluttershy steps in front of the manticore.
"MR. MITT!"
"I want to know why you are chasing this creature?"
The manticore, now revealed to be Mr. Mitt, grumbles and growls a little.
"He woke you from your nap? I understand what you mean by that, but is it right to chase him like that?"
The massive cat beast mews sadly in a no, which causes the red individual to approach.
"Um, Mr. Mitt? I'm sorry if I woke you. I guess I had a moment of panic from not knowing my surroundings. Plus other changes to me."
Mr. Mitt stares down the individual, but soon smiles and gives him a massive lick and hug.
"Hehehe, okay. Cut it out, you big lug. I'm ticklish. Heheha!"
After seeing Mr. Mitt getting along with the strange individual, Fluttershy slowly approached the two and looked over the newcomer. He did seem to be draconian, more feral while still bipedal, and yet he gave off an aura of a child.
"Fluttershy, what are you doing?" Asked Twilight, holding Rainbow in place as she seemed to be on the verge of attacking the individual before them all and Mr. Mitt.
Instead of replying, Fluttershy kneels to eye level with the red dragon-like creature.
"Hi there. My name is Fluttershy. What's yours?"
The red individual sees this and finally is able to get away from Mr. Mitt, soon responding by extending their clawed hand out.
"I'm....Guilmon. Nice to meet you, Fluttershy."

A New Experience, First Battle
Jason's POV
"Nice to meet you, Guilmon. I'm Fluttershy." The pale yellow individual in front of me said, smiling warmly. I look to the others, waving shyly. I notice she also has a pair of wings.
"Hello darling. I'm Rarity Belle. It's a pleasure to know you're not a ruffian of a dragon, at least." States a white skinned woman with violet hair anda horn on her forehead. I could tell from her accent she'd be a fashionesta, but I pushed that thought aside for the time being.
"Hi there, Guilmon! I'm Pinkie Pie!" Shouts a pink skinned and red-pink haired woman who suddenly appeared in front of me. "So, howdidyougethere? Wasitadigitalgate? Whereisyourtamer? Areyouawilddigimon!?" She suddenly asked extremely fast, yet I was unnerved she knew apparently about Digimon. I mean, isn't this an alternate reality?
Suddenly, I am saved as an orange skinned girl with a cowboy hat lassoed Pinkie away and tied her up.
"Sorry 'bout Pinks. She means well, but she sometimes goes overboard. The name's Applejack, by the way. Just call me AJ if you wanna be friendly, 'kay?"
I chuckle a little until the cyan colored girl with wings gets close and eyes me up and down. After a few minutes, she backs away smiling.
"I guess having two dragons as friends wouldn't hurt. The name's Rainbow Dash. Fastest flier in Equestria and soon to be member of the Wonderbolts."
"Hello there, Guilmon. I am Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship." Replies the last of the group of six, a lavender colored girl with wings on her back and a horn.
Suddenly, a trio of screams echo from somewhere in the forest followed by several howls.
3rd POV
Suddenly, Guilmon disappears into a bush and the sound of a yelp followed by the crash of something hitting a tree is heard. Stepping through, the six friends find Guilmon standing between a pack of Timberwolves and the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
By one tree that had a noticeable indent, there was a pile of wood which seemed to vibrate a little before ceasing. A timberwolf had fallen, and it's packmates wouldn't take that kindly.
"Go Guilmon! Wooooooo!" Yells Pinkie Pie, somehow wearing a ball cap shaped like Guilmons head while waving a flag that said "Guilmon #1".
One of the packmates of the fallen Timberwolf barks to the others, and they grunt as they all start to surround Guilmon. At this moment, Guilmon smirks as he puffs smoke out of his nostrils.
"Pyro Sphere!" Yells Guilmon, aiming his head between the two wolves more close to each other and released a single fire ball. They make no movement, considering as he wasn't looking directly at them that he missed. The fire ball hits the dirt, but explodes enough to catch both wolves with sparks.
The two wolves suddenly yelp in surprise as they try to put out the fire on them, one even biting off the bit of branch that was ignited before it spread. This was all the time Guilmon needed as he sprinted at the one that was faster at putting out its fire.
"Rock Breaker!"
With a single strike of his clawed arm, Guilmon shatters the wooden wolf's chest, which is followed by the rest of its body falling apart as kindling.
The second wolf that was on fire, now relieved of the flames, notices this and howls in anger. It seemed ready to leap, but the third wolf gets in the way, grunting to its team member. Reluctantly, the wolf leaves with its remaining pack member, giving Guilmon a deep and angry growl.
With the threat gone, Guilmon looks to the CMC and approaches them gingerly.
"You okay?" He asks Sweetie, who is currently wincing from backing away out of fear before Guilmon. Seeing though he was not a danger to her, she nods slowly.
"That. Was. AWESOME! Not as awesome as Rainbow Dash, but a close second!" Shouts Scootaloo.
As Guilmon is suddenly swamped by questions from the filly, Twilight was fininshing jotting down some notes on what she witnessed from Guilmons performance. Aware also that the Timberwolves might return with more of their pack, she clears her throat.
"'Course, Twi. Can't let 'er walk on that sprang until it is better looked at." Replied Applejack.
As the group heads for the exit of the forest, a pair of eyes watch Guilmon behind them.
"So, this must be fate in a way. Eh, Pineapple Head?"
