“So what’s the verdict, Ms. Mayor?” I asked, standing next to Twilight Sparkle at the Ponyville Town Hall.

“You passed!” cheered Mayor Mare.

“Congratulations—you’re officially a citizen of Equestria!” she told me, very proud for me.

“Well, Lonesome Knight,” piped up Twilight Sparkle, “are you going to stay in Ponyville?”

“You bet,” I answered.

“Where in Ponyville would you like to live?” Mayor Mare asked me.

“I have my heart set on a certain mare who lives quite a long way away,” I answered. “Her name is Fluttershy,” I added.

“Technically, Fluttershy does not live in Ponyville,” she warned me. “However,” she explained, “her mailing address is in Ponyville.”

“I didn’t know that!” I told her. “All the same,” I added, “I want to move in with her.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to live in the library?” Twilight Sparkle asked me. “I, for one, would love to live there.”

“My mind’s made up, Twilight,” I answered.

“Enjoy your new home—wherever it might be!” Mayor Mare told me, and then, the three of us bade one another good-bye.

Author's Note

To the best of my knowledge, the canon never explicitly says whether Fluttershy’s cottage is in Ponyville or not. I resolve that problem with this very chapter.
