The Fallen Archangel
A heartbreaking truth: Chapter 3.
Previous ChapterNext ChapterHeaven wasn't the same after Kalaziel's fall. The angels missed their brother dearly. After all, they had known him since their creation.
But most of all, God missed his son. After seeing the look in his wife's eye it all became clear.
Smugness and pride. Pride at banishing another one of her children.
Did that mean Samael never rebelled? It was his wife the entire time?
God couldn't help but feel guilty, but also shame for his actions. For not hearing his sons out.
Contrary to popular belief, God never intentionally favored any of his children over the others.
And despite what some of his offspring believed, his affection for humanity didn't hold a candle to how he felt about his celestial creations.
But having feelings and expressing them properly were two skills that many never mastered even without the added struggles of omnipotence and a sinisterly abusive ex-wife.
Still, God could only shift so much of the blame away. He wasn't perfect by any means. He made mistakes.
Like favoring two of his children slightly more than the rest.
It wasn't a conscious decision. He loved all of his children equally, of that he was certain, but he liked some much more than others.
Having coexisted with so many beings for so many millenia, God supposed it couldn't be helped that he wouldn't enjoy every single one of his offsprings' personalities.
He may have been a miracle worker sometimes, but that fell outside the realm of plausibility-even for him. Unfortunately, it often seemed as though reconciling with his two favorite sons was also out of reach.
God just wished he could find a way to reconcile with them, and try to rebuild those bridges.
Samael had helped make the stars in the night sky, and Kalaziel had helped create a consistent flow of time. He had made the first clocks for humanity.
God couldn't be prouder of his two beloved sons.
While he was still mad at Kalaziel, he understood that all he wanted was to end suffering and pain for humanity. He just wanted them to be like angels, immortal and wiser. Something which could never come.
God felt bile burn at the back of his throat as he saw Kalaziel fall from Heaven and through the reality warped portal.
That was when he'd noticed the condition of his son's wings. They looked broken. Who was it that had broken them?
Although he had a suspicion, he didn't want to confirm it.
Who else was with his son as he was about to be cast down to hell?
Zadkiel.
Without a second thought, God teleported out of his chambers and into Zadkiel's.
The sudden appearance of his father had startled him.
"Father, what are you here for? What's wrong?" The question seemed as though not only he but all angels currently feared the worst.
"Nothing is wrong, Zadkiel. I just wish to know who it was that broke Kalaziel's wings. I saw they looked broken as he fell through that rip in reality. I blame myself for that. I shouldn't have taken his powers. He's never misused them in any way."
That was true, the only time he believed he had misused it was when a human woman was dying of cancer. Kalaziel and Raphael had tried to heal and save her using his time powers and Raphael's ability to heal others.
Kalaziel would use his time powers to reverse the effects of the Cancer to before the lady had it by a few days. Then Raphael would try to remove and destroy the Cancer and restore the lady's natural hair back to how it was.
God had saved the woman and cured her of the cancer. Only for the benefit of his sons.
He wanted them to learn that not everybody could be saved all the time.
Kalaziel and Amenadiel were the closest brothers. Both having the ability to control and manipulate time.
Zadkiel, like Lucifer, wasn't a liar.
"It was Michael, he thought you wouldn't find out about it." That statement made God's blood boil. He wasn't mad at Zadkiel, but instead Michael.
Michael had always been selfish, arrogant, cocky and spiteful. He loved creating mischief like a demon. Spreading lies and rumours and using his power of fear to scare people to death. Purely for the fun of it all.
God felt like banishing Michael to Hell, but it would be pointless. He and Samael had always disliked each other. Almost like rivals.
God left Zadkiel's quarters and entered Michael's. He was going to give him a stern talking to.
Michael could see the anger and fury behind his father's eyes. Had he found out what he did to Kalaziel? Not like he didn't deserve it.
"Father, what are you doing here?" Michael asked with fake confusion. He wanted to make it seem like he hadn't done anything.
God could hear his son's thoughts. After all, he did create all of his children and could therefore hear all of their thoughts, but often left their thoughts to themselves. Not wanting to disturb them and their privacy.
God felt sick at what michael had just said. The little brat really thought he break his brother's wings and get away with it?
"What gave you the right to break your brother's wings?" God thundered, his expression darkening.
Michael felt fear of his own fill him as he saw how mad his father was.
"I was only messing around." That was a lie, he had always hated Kalaziel for his ability to warp time, space and reality itself.
God couldn't help but listen in to his thoughts.
"You thought that just because you were jealous of your brother for his gifts that you could assault him without me finding out?" The fury in God's eyes shone even brighter. He wasn't an unfair and injudicial God after all. He was fair and would show justice to those who had been wronged or had wronged others.
"As punishment for your actions, you are to remain in Heaven for a month until I deem you fit to be allowed to travel between realms once again." This was not a request, but an order.
Michael begrudgingly obeyed his father's command.
"Yes, father."
God felt pleased in that moment. Michael had deserved it after what he did to his brother.
God only wished he could recreate the reality portal Kalaziel had made with the remainder of his powers which he had stored subconsciously. He wanted to find his son and make amends with him. Even if it meant he would hate him for all eternity.
