5. Where And When?

Because Fluttershy did not care one little bit about family law or its many technicalities and intricacies, there were only three questions left on her mind: Where should the wedding take place, on what date, and at what time?

Concerned about the welfare of her animal friends, she asked Twilight Sparkle, “Would it be OK if we had our wedding in private?”

What do you mean, Fluttershy?” asked Twilight.

“I want all my animals to be witnesses to our wedding,” explained Fluttershy.

I don’t think that that would be legal,” objected Twilight.

“Oh, but my animals would be so sad if I left them all behind—especially Angel!” countered Fluttershy, pleading for Twilight to reconsider her advice.

Does Dr. Fauna make house calls?” I chimed in, addressing Twilight.

“Actually,” she answered, “she does!

All your non-pony friends will be in good hooves during your wedding,” she told Fluttershy. “You must not worry about them.”

“But I still wish that my animals could know that I had the wedding,” sighed Fluttershy, still a little sad.

A wedding is a legal procedure, Fluttershy,” explained Twilight. “There are tons of documents involved!”

Besides,” she continued, “you did very well rehearsing your lines and vows!

I’ll ask the mayor about sending you a photostatic copy of the marriage license,” I offered.

“Then,” I continued, “you can have all your furry and feathered friends sign it in their own ways!”

You’re the kindest pony I ever met!” cried Fluttershy, giving me another hug.

Now, at last, she and I were ready to go to the Ponyville Town Hall to schedule our wedding.
