"Mother what are we gonna do without you" A small red changeling Queen exclaimed, terrified at the reality of being left alone with just her sister. Queen Metamorphosis remarked, "Nephrite, Chrysalis, my daughters, you are more than ready; you have each other to seek advice and help from." Weakly, Queen Metamorphosis addressed her daughters. "Yes, it will work out. We can rule together, just like the ancient royal sisters our mother told us about," Queen Chrysalis said, attempting to sound upbeat as she grinned at her sister. Queen Nephrite cried and lifted her head, feeling a hoof of chitin beneath her chin. "But without you, it won't be the same you won't be here to make us happy or see us Rule," she continued. Placing her other hoof on Nephrite's heart, Queen Metamorphosis whispered, "Nephrite even after I'm gone from this world remember and I will always be with you in here," before bringing them back to her side. While waiting for her mother to answer, Queen Nephrite remarked, "Yeah your Right, we will always remember you in our hearts and the memories," and then she realised that her mother was not breathing. "Mother" Nephrite spoke weakly, her voice breaking before she broke down completely and started crying aloud while her sister gave her a tight hug. "Let it all out, it's okay, your big sis will comfort you," Chrysalis embraced her smaller sister and said, a little tearful. In the Changeling Thorne chamber, 113 years later "My Queens the head love collectors here to see you," Says a royal guard Nephrite remained silent when Queen Chrysalis ordered, "Send him in." "My Queens, we are running out of love and aren't getting enough from making our own identities. We need a new way to harvest love. It will be about 16 months before we go completely extinct," the chief love collector remarked, bowing to them, informed them. As Queen Nephrite remarked, "Thank you for the report, please return to your duties," The changeling gave a nod and departed to resume his tasks. Afterwards at the Queens' Meeting Room "I knew this would happen what did I tell you!" With a furious expression, Queen Chrysalis gazed at her sister, who was now wearing a frown. Looking at her sister determinedly, Queen Nephrite stated, "I know but what we were doing was wrong we can't just replace loved ones it may be effective but I will not reinstate if we do we are no better than the tyrants of old who enslaved everyone." "Why do you even care what happens to them, they are our prey, we are the hunters as it should be!" That her sister was standing up for the ponies infuriated Queen Chrysalis. "you know as well as I that I will not support this no matter what and as long as we are ruling together I won't let it be put in service and that is final Sister!" Before going to her chamber, Queen Nephrite said, and Chrysalis simply sighed and looked down. Queen Chrysalis thought to herself, Have it your way, but if this leads to our species becoming less than 3000, I will take action with or without you. Nine months later, at Queen Metamorphosis's burial Nephrite continued, staring at the grave and expecting no response, "Hey mom, it's been bad at the hive lately, our subjects are starting to die by the hundreds and I don't know what to do, Chrysalis thinks reinstating the policy you used but they don't deserve it." However, she did receive a response, though not from the grave. "I knew I would find you up here," Chrysalis remarked as she landed beside Nephrite and cast a sombre glance at her. As she looked at her sister, who had been pleading with her to bring back the impersonation act for months, Nephrite said, "What are you doing here? I already told you I'm not reinstating the act no matter what, as long as I am Ruling alongside you I won't allow it to return." Chrysalis calmly agreed that it is high risk but that it comes with major benefits, telling her sister that she knew of her friend. "I will agree that it does come with high risk but it also comes with high reward seeing as it gives us 4 times the amount of making a new identity which is why I am confused why you won't support it unless is it to do with that Pony you have been talking to behind my back, nephiy" Chrysalis said. Nephrite stared at Chrysalis, who was a little irritated at her sister for adopting her previous moniker, and said, "Chrysalis, no matter what you say or ask, I won't put the act back into service. It will bring us nothing but pain and suffering in the future when one of our infiltrators is found out and I won't back it as long as I am alive and as long as I am your fellow ruler I will never let it pass into law again." "I hoped you wouldn't say that nephie" Chrysalis lamented, Why is she using her magic, nephrite thought to herself "What do you mean by tha-" As soon as Nephrite realised that an anti-magic Ring had been put on her horn and that her wings were bound together by what looked to be a magic rope, she stopped talking. Chrysalis continued, "I'm sorry, but for the survival of our race there can only be one Queen on the throne," in a low voice that was barley understood before Nephrite realised she was just a few feet from the edge and understood what Chrysalis meant to say. Nephrite, looking at her sister sorrowfully and aware that her sister already knew this, stated, "So it has come to this just like the Royal sisters of old, the older will live and continue to rule while the other will die and be forgotten, so we are like them just the sides of evil and good are switched." Voice cracking in the middle, Chrysalis stated, "Please just support the act I don't want to do this please I don't want to lose you as well." "You already did the moment you decided that chaining me up was the only thing you could do, but sorry sis, unlike the sisters of old, only one will live to be on this plane of existence," Nephrite answered to her sister's bewildered face. "What do you mean?" Chrysalis spoke haltingly just as she noticed Nephrite begin to move towards the brink of the cliff. Realising what her sister was doing, Chrysalis hurried forward, yelling, "Stop!" at her. "Sorry, sis," Nephrite said. As she stepped off the cliff, chrysalis fell to her knees and sobbed when her magic rope reappeared a few minutes later, signalling that the Wings they were keeping together had either vanished or had lost all lifeforce. After sobbing for two hours, she finally said, "I'm sorry." After gathering her courage, she realised that she wasn't the only person responsible for her sister's death. It's all that pony's fault; if she hadn't existed, Nephrite would still be alive, and well, if she hadn't been making friends with her, she reasoned. It's time to get rid of the reason my sister never passed the law in the first place, Princess me-amore-cadenza If it's the last thing I do, I swear to turn your life into Tartarus. The DroneView OnlineThe Unknown changeling Royal-Rewrite being doneThe DroneThorax's pov:30 minutes after the declaration of war Why would Cadence do this she was always so kind-hearted and Nephrite may have been A pacifist like me but she's not dumb, she would of at least Brought a couple of guards along with her, something about this just doesn't add up Now that I think about it, wouldn't the equestrian government announce that the changelings were still alive and report any suspicious activity knowing how Celestia would only accept hard evidence that Chrysalis and Nephrite died even if her niece said that they were both dead she would need the bodies, maybe I'm just overthinking this but at least one person has to consider another viewpoint other then Chrysalis, since ever great leader can have flaws in ut hell even metamorphosis had flaws now and then 2 weeks after the declaration of war Why does pharynx intent on becoming a soldier, he might have always wanted to be one but the fact that he's trying to get me to become one is strange considering he's never done it before, actually why are so many people becoming soldiers now it makes no sense, we have always kept to the shadows, maybe? New beginnings part 1View OnlineThe Unknown changeling Royal-Rewrite being doneNew beginnings part 18 years after Chrysali's betrayal Former Queen Nephrite after exiting her hibernation pod after 8 years of healing What I am going to do Chrysalis has probably already told the Hive some fabricated story and if I did appear out of the blue my Sister would try and frame me as an imposter to the hive I could try and contact Equestria but I shouldn't reveal myself because if I do they would interrogate me for the location of the Hive the only other option is to go blend in and live a normal life in a pony town yeah that sounds like a good first step now I just need a good town to go to let's see whitetail no too close to the hive, Manehatten can't go there either too many opportunities for me to get revealed,canterlot definite no too close to the Royal family,Ponyville not as populated as Manehatten, a good distance from the hive and just out of range of the Royal family the perfect Town to blend into 4 days later near ponyville Ok now I need to think of a disguise, one which isn't too oblivious but also a role I can play quite well with no suspicion first a name, Morning Star no too common A name, Nighten Gale no that doesn't sound right either, Lucina Dawn yea that sounds like a good name, gender will be female, the colour of my coat will be dark purple, my hair colour will be a combination of red and dark blue, now backstory and what my home town is. whitetail would be good a home town with me being an orphan who grew out of the system, now what Race would I be Unicorn would be nice I am better with magic when I am with my wings yea Unicorn I will be, now age it would have to be young as to match me having no job before maybe 19 years old, yea that would work now what date my birthday will be May the 18th yea that should work now time to start my brand new life I thought as red flames surround me and I became Lucina Dawn a 19-year-old orphan from Whitetail As I walked into town I noticed that there were loads of stalls selling a variety of items from Juice to medicine however I was quickly pulled from my thoughts as a pink pony appeared in front of me radiating happiness and love "Hi are you new to town cause I haven't seen you a round and I know everyone who lives in ponyville!" The pink pony said so fast that it was hard to keep up with I almost fell before getting my balance back after the surprise appearance of the pony "Sorry just didn't see you there yeah I just got here" I told the pink pony Truthfully "I knew I was right so what's your name, mines pinkie pie," Pinkie pie said Asked me happily still radiating happiness and excitement "Right where are my manners I'm Lucina Dawn but you can call me Luci," I told pinkie pie excited at talking to another being again "Well, Luci you can just call me pinkie, oh I need to plan you a welcome to Ponyville party!" Pinkie said even more excited the before "Why would you throw me a party we've only known each other for 4 minutes," I said not expecting her to throw a party for a Stranger she met recently "Because we are Freinds now and that's what friends do for each other and it's just something I love doing, I do it for every new person I meet in ponyville even those who don't stay long," Pinkie told me "Thank you pinkie I will attend I mean what would a party be without the person it's being hosted for not being there," I told her equally excited for the party "Ok talk to you later and I'll get someone to come to get you when it's done bye for now!" New beginnings part 2View OnlineThe Unknown changeling Royal-Rewrite being doneNew beginnings part 2I walked towards what appeared to be the town hall if I had to guess as I got there was a receptionist "Name," He asked "Lucina Dawn" I responded already accustomed to saying it "You not listed as a citizen of ponyville, are you planning to move or just stay here for a while" He Questioned me "Moving I wanted to move somewhere secluded from all the big cities but close enough to canterlot so I could visit my friends up there," I told him lying about 'friends' in canterlot but had to add another reason other than secluded since there were loads of other towns that would have been suitable if that was the case "Ok all you have to do to become an official citizen of ponyville is fill out this form and also do some labour work for one of the following industries," he told me as he handed me the form which I filled in quickly until I got to the bottom which showed what industrie I had picked they were three of them farming, baking and modelling usually I would have gone for modelling but I hated standing still for hours on end so, in the end, I picked farming After I handed him the form he gave me a sort of 'ticket of labour' which needed a signature "Ok just take this to one of the members at sweet apple acres and they will give you some labour work to do" he said as I went for the door 5 minutes later I found myself outside a massive orchard as I entered orange coated mare struck a tree and all the apples came falling off she also had three apples for a cutie mark which probably meant she was one of the apples "Hello are you one of the apples," I asked her without her knowing I was there she jumped back and almost bucked me in the face good thing I had good reflexes or I would have lost a tooth or 2 "Oh sorry you'll, you just frightened me is all," She said as she said apologetically while setting her hat straight "It's okay I should probably try to sneak up on people less, "I said with a bit of sarcasm in "Yeah you probably should, anyway I'm applejack nice to meet you..." she said questioningly while holding a hoof out which confused me until I remembered that she didn't know my name "Lucina dawn, nice to meet you applejack," I said as I went to shake her hoof when she started shaking however she was almost making them go up and down quite fast "So what can I do you for," She asked "Well I recently decided to move to ponyville and I have to do labour work so I picked Farming and the receptionist said I should come here and give this to you," I said as I handed her my ticket of labour "Sure I could use some help with some crates of apples but no magic please, us apples like to do it the old fashion way," She said as she led me to a farm which had about 4 carte and 8 bunches of apples "Ok all I want today is for you to put 2 bunches of apples in each crate ok," She asked me "Yeah I can do that" I responded calmly and objectively "Now since I only just met you my brother big mac will be watching you make sure you don't use magic, ok, "She said as a massive stallion came out from behind one of the doors I just nodded in response"okay ill come check on you in an hour, "Applejack said before she left and the only thought I had was is it that easy to get a job and to make friends here Unfortunately for me, I was going to regret the job part in about an hour 1 hour later I had filled all 4 crates finally but they weren't kidding when they said that having to do work for a living would be hard Big mac had been silent almost the entire way through, and thats when I heard hoofs "I see you are all done with the crates, that's all you got to do today since it's your first day" She said as she handed me 40 bits or so "Thanks, I have a question applejack can I work here even after my ticket of labour expires," I asked exhausted, even though I might not like it I need a job and if I can keep this one I wouldn't have to look around for one "If you continue to do well for the rest of the ticket labour period sure I could give you a permanent job here after it's over oh and call me Jackie all my friends do," Jackie said to me happily "Ok well in that case you can call me Luci," I told her before I said goodbye and made my way into town once more to see what this little community had to offer especially since I had already made 2 friends superfast
The Lie and the truthView OnlineThe Unknown changeling Royal-Rewrite being doneThe Lie and the truthQueen Chrysalis returned to the badlands hive and gave the tragic news of Nephrite's death at the hands of Princess Mi-Amore Cadenza who had lured Her and Nephrite to A meeting under the guise of trying to find a way that the changelings of the badlands could be saved from their extinction. when in reality it was just to get the Queens away from the hive with Mi-Amore using an illusion spell to hide crossbows on the wall which she fired off with multiple of her royal guard bursting into the room chrysalis dodged the shot at her however nephrite not so lucky. where in her case it had hit her right in the heart causing instant death chrysalis explained that she pretended to flee and fall into a ravine which had water at the bottom where she finished her recount of it, after which chrysalis declared that the Badlands hive was officially at war with Equestria, the changelings who were in shock at first didn't believe it but the amount of detail that was presented was convincing enough that many started to scream for Mi-Amore's head Unbeknownst to Chrysalis and the Changelings of the badlands hive, Nephrite wasn't finished off like chrysalis thought when the rope holding her wings had come back in fact Nephrites wing's were torn off on the way down where she had fallen into a river and had been able to get the anti-magic ring off her horn, now Nephrite knew that she would have to lay low with the knowledge that chrysalis knew she hadn't died or at least that's what she thought when in reality Chrysalis thought the opposite Candace was waiting for her friend Midnight who was one of the first thestrals she had ever encountered but they had become quick friends, however, she had always had a red glow in her eyes she was told in confidence by Lucina that all thestrals had a glow of some sorts but after hours of waiting she hadn't come deciding to try again enough day she left thinking of the next time she would meet Midnight unknown to her all she knew about Midnight was A lie Author's Note a bonus chapter
