"I can't take it anymore Zach", Morty was saying to his best ( and only ) friend.

"What, the bullying or the adventures?" Zach was probably one of the only ones outside of the family that knew of Morty's adventures with his grandpa.

"I guess a little bit of both? I... I just feel like the underdog sometimes you know?" Morty said.

"Well why don't you tell him how you feel? Maybe he'd understand", Zach tried to suggest.

"Most likely he'd just say to suck it up or he wouldn't care at all", Morty said unenthusiastically.

'Speak of the devil he's coming' Morty thought as he saw a familiar portal open up in front of him.

Out stepped Rick.

"H hey Morty we have to go on an adventure. I'm--"

"No. You know what Rick? I'm done."

Morty was finally putting his foot down. No more would he go on an adventure without his consent.

"Excuse me? I'm sorry did you just refuse you sack of shit?" Rick said.

Despite what Rick just said Morty would still not go.

"What are you deaf? I just said no. And I mean it", Morty replied.

Rick seemed to be struggling with something in his head then he said "You know what? Fine. Don't go. I'll just take care of this myself. And don't come crying to me when you have a fucking problem again."

"Oh don't worry. I won't", Morty called after him as he stepped back into the portal to who knows where.

20 years later

"Come on Morty! We have to go!" Zach was panicking.

"I know! But where?" Morty asked.

"I don't know somewhere far away?" Zach said, unhelpful.

It was the start of the apocalypse. People outside were running as aliens started either abducting people or just vaporizing them.

"Hmmm... I got it! We can use my Portal gun!" Morty said.

"Um two things. One: didn't you get that from...you know...him? And two: I thought you said you made some modifications on it to make it more efficient. Please tell me I'm not going with you", Zach said almost pleadingly.

"Well unless you want to stay here and end up like that guy", Morty said pointing to a pile of ash that used to be a soldier.

Zach sighed then said "Ok let's go."

"Lets hope this thing doesn't send us to the blender dimension", Morty said as he fired it on the ground.

"Wait the what dimension?" Zach said looking around frantically for something.

"Never mind. Let's just go in the portal", Morty said.

The portal due to Morty's modifications was now a blood red as opposed to a sickly green.

"Um are you sure about--" Zach said before he was pushed into the portal.

Morty took one last look at the planet he once called home.

'Well here goes nothing ' he thought as he jumped in the portal.

Meanwhile

It was a beautiful day in Equestria. The birds were chirping the sun was out...

And seemingly out of nowhere two bipedal figures came falling out of the sky.

"Morty this was a bad idea I wanna go home!" Zach screamed at Morty over the wind.

"We can't go back now you idiot!" Morty screamed back.

"Oh yeah why not?"

Morty facepalmed and said "Did you not see the destruction of our planet around us?"

Before Zach could answer Morty then said "You might wanna hang onto me!"

Zach said "What are you gay?"

Morty said "Unless you wanna die!"

Zach then did what he told him to.

Once Morty was sure Zach was secured he then pointed his portal gun back at the ground.

Instead of splattering on the ground like Zach expected at the last second Morty fired at the nearest object which happened to be a tree.

So what happened instead was they hit the ground as expected but came out of the tree if that makes any sense.

Once they had both caught their breath Morty looked at his portal gun and said "Oh crap."

"What now?" Zach said sounding irritable.

"Well I have some good news and some bad news", Morty said. "The good news is that there is no good news. The bad news is that the portal gun...well..."

"Shut up and get to the point!" Zach yelled.

"Dude keep it down! The portal gun is very overheated", Morty said.

"...So?"

"So that means we can't get home until it cools down all the way", morty explained.

"And how long will that take?" Zach said fearing the worst.

"About 6 to 12 months", Morty said sheepishly.

"Great. Just great! We're stuck in not only a forest from the looks of it but also in another dimension!"

"Well at least it can't get worse",Morty said.

Just then they heard a growl.

"Was that you Morty? Please tell me that was you",Zach said almost pleadingly.

Then out of the brush emerged 3 wooden wolves.

They both stared at each other.

"Don't move and it can't see us",Morty whispered.

Then without warning one of the wolves pounced.

It would've gotten Zach if Morty hadn't pushed him away in time.

"Run!" Morty yelled.

And so they did.

"Well I didn't want to say I told you so but I told you so!"

"Yeah rub it in a little more why don't you?"

It was about 3 hours since they lost their pursuers. To make matters worse...

"It's getting dark", Zach said.

"Oh thanks for that Captain obvious. Any more bright observations?" Morty asked mockingly.

"Um yeah. I think I hear something."

"It better not be your stomach or I swear to God I will--"

"No seriously I hear something. Don't you?"

Morty listened and though it was very faint he did indeed hear something.

"It almost sounds like--"

"Voices! We're saved! If we get out of this alive--"

"Quiet!" Hissed Morty.

"I dont see what the problem is", Zach said.

"What if they're hostile? What if they--"

"Oh you're worrying too much man. We'll be fine!" Zach said and went off to find the source of the voices.

"Wait Zach! Oh my God he's gonna get himself killed", Morty sighed as he trudged along after him.
