Chrysalis is back, to take over Equestria. Certainly, other attempts have failed, but the one that almost succeeded is still not the worst idea. Could it work if she tried again, but more carefully?

Looking back over every attempt to take over Equestria and devour the love of the ponies that live there, Chrysalis stews in her chambers. While her army of changelings has been cut back to such a diminished capacity, she's no longer seen as a threat, but an annoyance that would be cast aside the moment she showed up. Worse still, she's been kicked from her hive, and had to start at the very beginning.

The beginning.

Her first plan had almost succeeded. It was fraught with failures, which only when added up had spelled her abjuration. If any of those small failures hadn't happened, she would be sitting on her throne while Celestia and Luna licked the bottom of her hooves, their kingdom in ruins. She very nearly had it all. The day had been just perfect. Even the downturns hadn't stopped her until the very end. She had been more powerful than Celestia.

It was time again to taste that power. But this time, there was going to be a twist. This time, she would not fail. This time, she would be more subtle.
