The Balance

So bright, why do mornings have to be so bright? Kinda annoying if you ask me.
It feels like i'm in a Disney movie, birds are tweeting, other animals are mewling outside and it sounds like Fluttershy is singing to them, it's a sweet soft song and it almost lulls me back to sleep but hunger is a powerful mistress and my stomach is a cheerleader for her it seems.

I tried to lift my left arm to reach the glass of water set next to me and surprisingly I felt no pain.
“Awesome!” I said out loud and being maybe a little bit silly I tried to lift my right arm and lo and behold I could lift it no worries, wait I thought Fluttershy said it was broken? I flexed my arm and no pain struck me, maybe she was wrong? Anyway feeling pretty good about not being in pain I gingerly sat myself up...no pain at all, what was in those potions? I could make a mint with those back at home.

I sat there enjoying a wonderful glass of water when Fluttershy trotted in.

“You shouldn't be stilling up!” she said with concern.

“But I feel amazing!” I stated matter of factly, “What was in those potions? They work like magic”.

“Well they are Zebra Magic but that is beside the point, those potions shouldn't work that well?”
“They are meant to help with speeding up the healing process but this is incredible, you only had two treatments” Fluttershy said with a little bit of wonder.

“Well i have always healed pretty fast, my mother told me it has something to do with my blood or some such, i just thought my blood clotted well and I stopped bleeding pretty fast” i said feeling quite amazed with myself.

“But could you heal broken bones and torn muscles in just a few days?” She said with a questioning look walking over to me.

“Well..no, never anything that sevier” I had to admit.

Fluttershy gently poked and prodded at my limbs gently and her face just had a confused look on it.

“Do humans heal fast like this?” she questioned me.

“No, not at all, it would take months to heal broken bones and torn muscles can lay people up for weeks. I just assumed that the potions and magic from Twilight Sparkle healed me” I said with now growing concern.

“Twilight's magic is very powerful but without in-depth knowledge of your anatomy all she could do was a basic healing spell that closes wounds, Healing wounds like this...I don't know how that could happen?” she said whale looking me in the eye with a slight frown.

“Well i seem to be in very good health now right? I motioned to my body questionaly.

“ As far as i can tell your bones and muscles are healed, but how are you feeling?” she said this while leaning forward looking deep in my eyes like she was seeing if i was faking it or something.

“ I feel amazing!” I said smiling “but I am incredibly hungry” at this statement my stomach grumbled its agreement.

A chuckling Fluttershy gave a small smile and hopped up and moved toward the kitchen.

“I’ll get you some oatmeal and fruit” she said in a happy voice.

I continued to flex my limbs while Fluttershy was in the kitchen and as I did it reminded me that I was unclothed, this got me thinking where my clothes were that I was wearing when I was found. I looked around and none of my clothing was present, Fluttershy walked in with my oatmeal and an apple on her back.
As she got next to me I reached over and lifted the tray from her back, and as my fingers brushed her fur she let out a shocked “eep” and jumped away from me.

“Sorry” I said quickly, lowering the tray to my lap. “I didn't mean to scare you”

With a calming breath she said “ I..Its ok I wasn't expecting you to take it off my back and your paws touched my back”

“Hands” I said, holding up my hands “Humans called them hands”, “ And on the end of hands are fingers” wiggling them like I was telling a small child.

“Hands and fingers, Ok” Fluttershy said, sitting a little closer to me.

I started to eat the oatmeal, and i'm not a foodie or anything but this oatmeal was crazy good, and the apple was like candy it was so sweet.

As I ate I asked Fluttershy what happened to my clothes, and if it would be possible to get them back.

“Yeah there,” she said, getting up and walking outside.

She came back inside with a scrunched up nose and a basket in her mouth which had a bundle of cloth in it. She placed the basket near me as I finished eating and took the tray to the kitchen.
I picked the clothes out of the basket and I immediately grasped why Fluttershy had kept it outside, it stunk to high heaven, blood and mud staining almost every inch of my clothes.
The T-shirt was cut up the centre and in a T shape to the collar, i guess that's how Fluttershy got it off me to bandage me, it also had rips all across it and the right arm from the neck to just under the sleeve was almost completely ripped off, “My arm was in this?” was all I could mutter slowly rolling my right shoulder. My pants didn't fare any better, blood and mud caked them and Fluttershy had cut them from waist to the bottom of each leg, they were torn to pieces too, sadly my underwear were destroyed from Fluttershy's cutting.
That was it, not a single item of clothing had been left intact.
A sad sigh left me as Fluttershy walked back in, she looked at me with an apologetic smile.

“Were they Expensive Clothes?” She asked, looking a little sick staring at my gross pile of clothes.

“Expensive, no, but they were my only clothes” i said looking sad

“Oh thats ok then, we can find you some clothes next time there is something fancy you want to” She said with a smile.

With a confused look on my face i said “But i’ll be naked until then” i said kinda embarrassed

“So?” came her quick reply “Most ponies go with out clothes, unless they want to be or go somewhere fancy, well most nobles wear clothes all the time but nobles like to show off”

“Fluttershy, humans wear clothes not just to dress up but because we don't have fur or tough hides, were kinda squishy and vulnerable so we wear clothes to protect our skin and protect ourselves from the hot or cold, and well i don't want to be naked in front of other people its embarrassing” i said kinda slipping in to lecture mode.

“Are you embarrassed because your penis is always out?” she said kindly

I couldn't help but feel my face flush, “Yeah, most humans don't like being naked in front of others that aren't their lovers”

A kind smile came to Fluttershy's lips, “I don't really get it, but i know someone who loves making clothes, maybe we can ask her to make you some clothes?” she said with a happy tone.

“Sounds great”, “maybe i could wrap a blanket around me in the meantime?” I said, putting the basket of clothes on the floor.

“You don't have to cover up in front of me, I’ve seen you naked anyway” Fluttershy said very innocently, but very quickly a blush came to her face. She laid down covering her face.

A knock on the door saved both of us from the strange conversation we were having.

“Fluttershy?” came the voice of Twilight Sparkle.

“Twilight!” called Fluttershy bouncing up to get the door.

Fluttershy let Twilight Sparkle in and almost immediately.

“Are you feeling ok Fluttershy?” asked Twilight Sparkle looking at Fluttershy's face.

‘O..Oh i'm ok Twilight just a little warm” stuttered Fluttershy

“Ok” Twilight Sparkle said, trotting over to me and setting down her bags.

“How are you doing today Samuel?” Asked Twilight Sparkle levitating a quill and paper, maybe parchment now i'm looking closer

“Just call me Sam, and I'm feeling amazing, not a single tingle of pain, magic potions and healing spells are incredible!” I said flexing my arms.

“Ok Sam, just call me Twilight then, no need to be formal” she said with a smile.

Twilight began to examine me like a comedic routine, mouth, eyes ,ears, lifting my arms..
“Do humans usually regenerate this fast? She asked and started to lift the cover from my body.

“Woah, nope that's far enough Twilight” i said bringing my arms down to grab the cover,
“Humans take months to heal from broken bones, as i was telling Fluttershy”

Twilight gave me a raised eyebrow look as she stopped trying to move the cover, Fluttershy walked up to Twilight.

“Humans have a taboo about being seen naked’ Fluttershy told Twilight.

“What? Why? Is it because his penis is always out?” Twilight asked matter of factly.

“That's part of it, from what he’s said it just seems to be a human culture thing” explained Fluttershy with a slight blush.

“That doesn't bother me” Twilight said with a blush as well, “the princess has tasked me to take custody of the human till she can come and see if he is a threat to Equestria”

“Well I mind” I said, holding the cover firmly over my form with a bit more annoyance in my voice then I meant to come out.

“Oh, yeah of course, sorry” Twilight said with her head and ears drooping, “I kinda get carried away sometimes when research is involved” she chuckles.

The feeling in the room was a little awkward for a bit until I asked.

“Twilight, Fluttershy said she wasn't allowed to tell me where I am, till you asked the princess, can you tell me now? I said with the best smile I could muster.

“Yeah, sorry I was a little paranoid when I told Fluttershy that” Twilight said with a small laugh and rubbing the back of her neck, “I wasn't sure you weren't a creature sent to hurt us ponies, and just bungled your infiltration”.

“Infiltration?” I said with confusion.

“Sorry,”Twilight said again, rubbing her neck. “I’ve been reading a story called ‘The Creature from the Badlands’ and maybe my imagination ran away a little..”

All i could do was start laughing, a deep truly rolling laugh tears and all, Both ponies present just looked at me with confusion,

“Sorry Twilight but that's just amazing, I used to get that way reading ghost stories when i was younger, turning off the light running to bed, things hiding in the wardrobe, I'm just glad i wasn't being kept in the dark because i was in trouble or something” i said trying to control my laughter and wiping away my tears.

Twilight looked quite a bit embarrassed and was scuffing the floor with a hoof while Fluttershy giggled into her hoof with a big smile on her face.

“So where am I exactly? I'm pretty sure I'm not on earth” i said mostly under control.

“Earth?” was Twilight's first reaction completely forgetting her embarrassment.

“I can tell you later, if that's ok with you?” I said quickly

“Sure you’re going to be staying with me for a bit anyway, that will also give me time to tell you about Equestria” Twilight said without skipping a beat.

“Is that what you mean by taking custody?” Fluttershy said a little sadly

“Sorry Fluttershy, princess’s orders” Twilight said, patting Fluttershy on the shoulder.

“It's Interesting talking to him, he’s so different,” Fluttershy said, hiding her face behind her mane.

“You can always come visit, anytime you want,” Twilight said with a smile to me.

“Yeah any time Fluttershy, I like talking to you too” I said with a smile to Fluttershy,
“Though i have no idea where that will be”

“Oh, my house is in the center of Ponyville, I live in the local Library, Fluttershy has been there many times before, it's only a half hour trot away” Twilight said standing and collecting her things.

Watching Twilight collect her stuff I thought I was moving now, and kinda panicked being quite under dressed for a long walk outside.

“Hey Twilight are you taking me now?, because i'm not sure i want to go for a long walk undressed, also the walk will probably rip up my feet as i don't have any shoes” I said lifting my foot and wiggling my toes.

“You wear shoes?” Twilight said, looking at your soft fleshy foot.

Instantly putting two and two together “Not shoes like hor...pony shoes, metal attached to my foot, humans use Tough materials to envelop our feet to protect our skin” catching myself hopefully quick enough.

Twilight and Fluttershy let it slide thankfully.

“We don't do that anymore, but I get what you mean” she said looking at my foot, “A sharp rock could do a lot of damage to your feet” Twilight said using my nomenclature with ease.

“I said I would introduce him to Rarity later on to help with clothes, and maybe we can get her to make him some shoes too?” Fluttershy said helpfully

“That's a great idea Fluttershy” Twilight said with a smile “I would teleport us there but I’m not sure how teleportation would effect Sam, and something weird happens to my magic when i use it on him” This last bit was followed by a thinking frown appearing on her face.

“Im fine walking there but we will have to go slow, i'm not risking ripping my feet up,” i said trying to stand.

It was a little difficult to stand. My limbs felt tight, like a day or two after a good workout, no pain as such but tightness all the same. I tied the cover over myself kinda like a toga, a little breezy but it covered me up a good amount.

Collecting a few bits Fluttershy walked around one last time checking her animals before stopping in front of a small white rabbit and telling him to take care of the house, and to my shock he gave her a salute. That's another impossible thing i have seen now being here and it's only past breakfast.

Off we set to Ponyville, with two legendary creatures walking beside me, what could i do but go with the flow, that or i could go crazy.
I hope this walk doesn't take long, my legs are stiff already, and I'm hungry.
