Several centuries have passed since Rune had found peace. Through this time many changes have happened. Humanoid species died out due to their body's inability to adapt to the influx of magic flowing through the air after multiple apocalyptic events happened, and species that held humanoid features reverted to their more animal-like appearance as the later generations were born. With none of the evils truly slain though, how long will this peace last? A disturbance along the bottom of the ocean ripples to the surface. Equestria, the land once known as Rune, is unaware of the nightmare that is awakening at the bottom of the ocean. Will they be able to fend off this threat? Will a new Shining Force rise to the challenge, or will more than just the evil of old return to them in their time of need?
