AN: Darn these ponies, why are they so awesome? Alright, so I’ve recently been inducted into the ranks of the bronies, and as you can see from the title, you obviously know my favourite character. If you don’t, however, here’s a clue: she could clear the skies in ten seconds flat. Still not getting it, even though I gave you the most obvious of hints? Fine, I’ll tell you. It’s Rainbow Dash. She’s my favourite pony, because she’s the most stallionlike out of them, and since I’m a colt, that makes it make perfect sense to like the least fillyish of the mane six. But, as I’m sure you’ll notice from my previous stories, I’ve written quite a few reincarnation fics which I’ve abandoned. Those who are in FIMfiction disregard this, however. Well, this is attempting to insert myself into Rainbow Dash, and I’ll try not to abandon it because I get bored. Oh, and for the purpose of this fic, Dashme (portmanteau of Dash and me) can only go Mach 5 until Sonic Rainboom, when I can go 10. So, Allons-y, Geronimo, Cowabunga, whatever all you ponies out there wanna use, but I prefer to use this: LET’S. ROLL.
I groan. I yawn. I do whatever the hay you would expect someone to do when they wake up at 3 O’clock in the morning. Seriously, I dunno if they put something in the meat or something, but for some reason, I usually do wake up at, oh, I don’t know, 3 or 4 O’clock. I really wanna be a pony, where I can do anything I want. As I get out of my bed, I scratch my neck, and then move to the computer room and put on the mini-laptop. It’s like a laptop… only mini! So, anyway, after turning it on, I go onto the internet and search up my new favourite series, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The episode I’m watching starts off as usual, and then, at the end of the theme song, after the music stops playing, it… Wait, what the feather?* Rainbow Dash just disappeared? And now the camera’s back on Celestia and it’s showing her gasping? I’m pretty sure that didn’t happen in this episode… Wait, Celestia’s looking at me? I’m pretty sure she doesn’t have Twilight’s ability to break the fourth wall (If you research, Twilight does have a slightly bigger history of breaking the fourth wall than Pinkie, who is usually just staring at people on the other side of the camera). She then says to me, and I repeat, SAYS to ME, “Ah, an observer. He’s a male one too. Perhaps…” Okay, this is getting creepy. Probably seeing me creeped out, she says in a soothing voice, “Don’t be scared, little colt. However, one of my little ponies has disappeared, or rather never existed, due to a successful attempt by something to divert her soul to somewhere else. I need someone to replace the soul from birth… and it just so seems that you are the one I require.”
I blink, and then shake my head. I look back at the screen. She’s still there, waiting expectantly. “I must be imagining things,” I say out loud, to which Celestia laughs, a beautiful melodious laugh.
“No. I am sorry to say this, but you are not experiencing a fit of imagination, little colt.” At this, my mouth gawps open. She’s really talking to me, not anyone else, but me! “I believe you have the heart of a pony. Well, technically all have the same heart and feelings, but I require someone special. Someone who is amazingly loyal, above all else. In all of this world, you are one out of many who share this trait, and one out of very few who are fanatics of the show which is the window to our universe. Touch the screen, and I will transport you to a special limbo where I will evaluate you and the few others.” I touch the screen, still wondering why this is happening… and get sucked into the screen! What the hay! I get dropped into a white world, somewhat reminiscent of the ‘Guns, Lots of guns,’ scene from the Matrix. There are around 13 other ponies here, some of them with their hooves in salute (I tend to use pony slang) of Celestia. Celestia is in front of us, and pacing in front of us.
“I still don’t know what the feather is going on, but I’ll go along with it,” I say. “So why are we here, Celestia?” I ask bluntly. Everypony else in the line, including those who are saluting, suddenly turn to me, with their mouths open in shock. I shrug. “What? I’ve never really seen that treating everypony above you with respect. I give them the respect they earn.” They still stare at me. I sigh, and facehoof. “Have any of you actually asked what we’re here to do?” They stop gawking at me, then start murmuring about how I have a point, and stuff.
I look back to Celestia, who seems to be taking a note to self, then says “We’re here to find out who will be the next Rainbow Dash, after somepony else decided to divert her soul. You are here physically, but for these tests, that will change. Until then, I need to make sure about something else.” Wait, we’re choosing who goes into Rainbow Dash? After her soul is diverted? Even though she is… well, a she, I’ve always wanted to be her. My gender identity would still be male, though, I just would have a female body. “For the first test, we-“
“This is gonna be so awesome!” I interrupt Celestia, causing everypony else to glare at me, except for Celestia, who is just amused and seems to be taking another note to self.
“As I was saying, the first test is that, after I take your souls out of your bodies, which will look the same, I will change your souls into your pony selves, and then separate you to give you courses which are designed for pegasi. After this I will do 1 last thing before deciding who to reincarnate as Dash.” We all step forward, and then Celestia pulls us out of our bodies. She then reshapes our souls into our pony forms, which is nothing like the conversion bureau, because I kept my old personality, thank gosh, and don’t feel different in my mind. My body, or rather soul, does feel rather different though. Before I can look at myself, Celestia transports me to the course. I then take a good look at myself. First, I raise my hooves. Apparently souls have colour, because my hooves are cyan. I feel along my body, and I have wings! Awesome! Then I brush my mane in front of my face. It’s a rainbow mane!
“Omigoshomigoshomigoshomigoshomigosh!” I go. I even sound like Rainbow Dash! Wait a second… I feel under my body, then feel like screaming. My area isn’t there! Anyway off to the course. “I’m willing to bet I can do this in Ten, Seconds, Flat,” I say, grinning because I sound so much like Rainbow Dash. On the other hand I’m female, but still… ANYway, I complete the course in ten seconds flat. Just like I said. AWESOME!! I’m 20% coolerer than everypony else here (I know coolerer isn’t a word, just roll with it) in truthfulness. It does make me a bit tired though, so I use my instinctive Pegasus powers to create a cloud (It’s really cool! It’s like you have instincts to make the cloud, due to the body) and laze on it waiting for everypony else. I mean, there’s nothing else to do here except lie around, since it’s not like there’s any books or computers or anything else.
***5 hours later***
“Wake up idiot! Everypony else is here now!” somepony yells at me, as I hear the clip-clops of feet. I wake up, get up, go ‘wuh’ and realise that everypony else, even the other pegasi, is below me and can’t see me on my cloud.
I poke my head out, and yell “Hey! I’m awake, no need to yell!” I then recognize Celestia there. It looks like she’s been waiting for ages! She goes ‘Ah!’ at me, and then gets down to business, while everyone else… gapes at me for some reason? Maybe it’s ‘cause I look like Dash. Anyway, back to Celestia getting down to business.
“Now that all of you are here,” she says, glancing around the area at everypony else, such as the yellow unicorn with red eyes, the white Pegasus with black eyes (ironically) and a green mane, and the green earth pony with light green hair, and then continues with “My next test is for the pegasi only.” I perk up, jumping off my cloud and floating down to the ground. “Now listen carefully. Here, I will create a sky where there are many clouds, and each pegasi will take a test on how long it takes them to clear it. I will time the clearing.” So, Celestia creates the sky (Man, I never knew I would actually say that), and says, “Do we have any volunteers?”
I put my hoof up, and shout “I’ll do it in ten seconds flat, or my name’s not ***** *******-****!” She laughs, while the others start whispering to each other, also presumably because I look like Rainbow Dash, and sound so much like her. Nevertheless, she gives me the go-ahead. I jump up, and fly over to the clouds, bucking one, then another, then another, and another in quick succession, so quickly that by ten seconds, there’s not a cloud left. I fly down, and touch down on the ground, declaring proudly, “See? Ten seconds flat.” Everypony’s stopped whispering now, and is gaping at me, except for Celestia, who seems to be taking another note to self. I smirk, and say “What? Scared that you can’t beat me? It’s not like I’m the next Rainbow Dash or anything. Oh yeah, it kind of is!” The next Pegasus steps up, and tries to beat my record, but takes 30 seconds rather than ten seconds, and the same happens with the rest of them. Celestia takes another note to herself, and then calls for us all over here.
“Okay, everypony. I’m going to ask you each a question, which you answer truthfully. If you are lying, I’ll be able to tell,” says Celestia. She asks everypony aside from me their questions first, which are always the same questions. Finally she gets to me. She asks me, “If Fluttershy, Twilight, Spike, Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie were in a fire, which would you have saved?”
I think for a little, and then say “I would save all of them. I never let anything happen to my friends, even if they can kind of be jerks sometimes.” Celestia smiles and then seems to take another note to self, then goes out in front of all of us.
“I have decided.” Seeing that that doesn’t get the result she expected, I hear a clearing of her throat, signalling the beginning of the ROYAL CANTERLOT SPEAKING VOICE! “I HAVE DECIDED!” This elicits the attention of everyone, aside from me, who was already paying attention. “The one who will replace Rainbow Dash’s mind will be…” she pauses for dramatic effect, and then says “Her, possibly previously him!” Weeell, that didn’t have as much effect as I thought. Wait, who is she pointing at? Never mind that, why is everypony still staring at me again? Oh… THIS IS GONNA BE SOOO AWESOME! SQUEEEE! SHE’S POINTING AT ME, IN CASE YOU DIDN’T GUESS!
“Why does SHE get to be the next Rainbow Dash? I would want to be her!” says a stallion. I stick my tongue out at him, and make silly faces.
“As immature as she is, she is the closest analogue to Rainbow Dash currently here, as the original Rainbow Dash had a personality almost completely like hers. Also, she, maybe previously he, looks almost exactly like Rainbow Dash as well.” I gape. I knew I kinda looked like Rainbow Dash in this body, but not exactly how much. She also takes out a mirror. “Take a look if you like,” she says to me. I look. Rainbow Dash is staring back. No, seriously, it looks like Rainbow Dash is staring back. I take a step back. So does she. I breathe in. So does she. I do funny faces. So does she. It’s… actually kind of creepy, sharing an appearance with one of the main characters of your favourite shows. “That is why she will be the next Rainbow Dash,” finishes up Celestia. I blink. It’s still there. Wow! That really happened! Sooo awesome!! “Unfortunately, I cannot just let the rest of you go back to your world. Fortunately, I can move you to other ponies.” They look excited. “No, no more of you will be an element of harmony. Others will, however, be anypony you want.” Everyone else is happy, but I’m especially happy. Yay! This is gonna be the best life ever!
“Have you all chosen?” asks Celestia. Everyone nods. “Well, prepare to be reborn!” she says, and we all cheer.
I say “This is gonna be so awesome! But wait. How come I look exactly like Dash in my pony form?”
Celestia, hearing me, says “You were that dimension’s version of Dash. Strange, how a colt in one dimension can be a filly in the next.” Oh yeah! I’ll be awesome as Rainbow Dash, 20% cooler than the original! Suddenly, the place disappears, and everything suddenly goes dark.
‘Great, I’m about to get born.’ I just reckon we should leave this part out, though, for the sake of everyone. I can’t wait until I grow up, though.
AN: Alrighty then, chap 1 is finished! I love this! Btw, sorry to keep you hanging from a cliff, but it’ll be a time montage, where it shows the different stages of Dash’s/my life. And next time, and all the others, I’ll only keep this note at the end. Seeya!
Chapter 2: Before the Beginning 1
Becoming Rainbow Dash
Today is a pretty good day. It’s my first day of flight school in my new life as Rainbow Dash. I can’t wait for the series to start! On the other hand, I feel kind of weird, my gender identity still being male but gender being female. My new mum isn’t helping either, with her expecting me to be the very picture of femininity (but not showing it to anyone, even me. It’s just so obvious though). “Rainbow, dear! Breakfast’s ready!” I grumble, leaving the room.
“GOOOOD MORNIIIIIIIING RAIIIINBOOOOOOOW!” Annnd there’s the 8:00 old man express, flying at me with his wings out and legs back. I dodge, then smirk, and kick him right back in the face. “OWWWW!” he yelps, then starts crying, and says “Dear Celestia, what did I do in my past life to get a daughter so terrible?”
“In your face! I’m still 20% cooler than you, dad!” I yell out, standing bipedally triumphantly, with my wings balancing me on 2 legs. You know, I wouldn’t be surprised that Celestia put me with 2 of the most insane parents, one of them all towards me being feminine, and the other towards training me. I now know how Ichigo Kurosaki feels, with the ambushing dad. “Oh, and coming, mum!” I walk down to the kitchen. Mum's there, and she looks up at me.
"Oh, hello, dearie. I've got breakfast," she says. I sit down near the table on my flank, and get the food. It’s toast (I learnt ponies have no problem eating toast in my first few years), so I take the toast in my hoof and put it in my mouth. You see, there’s some kind of magic which allows non-unicorns to hold things properly. That’s why you see the pegasi in the show holding things normally and such. While I’m eating, mum says “I got you an invitation to a fabulous school! The Canterlot Academy for gifted ponies!” Once she says that, I do a spit take.
“Wha-bu-how?” I say, stuttering. Okay, for those of you not in the know (which is pretty much everypony), the Canterlot Academy for the gifted is a place where the top gifted ponies from all over Equestria go to learn and study. That’s where Twilight went, her being a year older than me due to her school starting at the Sonic Rainboom day and all, before she became Celestia’s apprentice, as the school has three branches, one of them being Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. “I mean, the qualifications for that are to either be extremely intelligent, or to have performed some sort of feat to do with magic or flying, and I’m pretty sure I’m neither of those things,” I say, regaining my composure.
Mum scoffs. “Dear, you did a Sonic Rainboom last year. And you’re six years old, yet have a… what’s that word again…” she starts muttering, saying stuff like ‘tip of my tongue,’ and the like. “Ah, yes! Yet you have a vocabulary which is more extensive than some stallions or mares. I think that, dear, would qualify you for both of those categories. OH! I forgot! You look horrible! We must go out and get a dress!”
“NO!” I yell. “NO! DRESSES! AND! THAT! IS! FINAL!” I can almost feel a black alicorn on the moon sneeze, and chuckle in my head.
“Nonsense, darling! You simply must wear a dress, I say!” She then drags me to her dressmaking area (I don’t know how she makes dresses with her hooves, although I have some ideas. Don’t question it.) and starts measuring me. I groan. Did I remember to mention that, aside from the mane, lack of a horn, inclusion of wings, and cutie mark, she’s almost completely like Rarity? Well, she is.
“Nope! Nothing is small enough or is your colour! Wait… maybe… my final dress…” she brings out the dress, which I won’t bore you with descriptions and instead just say it was rainbow coloured. Nice taste in colours, as in my opinion, as a fan of the previous G4 dash (you know, the one before her soul was redirected, I found out I’m an alternate universe version of her, and I got sent to her body? I still don’t know how the alternate universe version of her works, though) even if it’s a dress. She fits it onto me and it fits perfectly. I grumble. If mum wouldn’t whine at me if I didn’t wear this (and trust me, her whine is even worse than Rarity’s), I wouldn’t. “Oh, and did you know that we’ve been officially proclaimed Second-tier Royalty by the Princess?” My head whips around at mum.
“…You’re kidding, right?” I say. When she shakes her head, I groan. “So WHY exactly did C- the Princess make us royalty?” She sighs dreamily, and starts explaining.
“Well, the first reason is because you were the first non-alicorn to do a Sonic Rainboom! I’m still proud of you for that!” She goes to smother me with kisses, but I pull away. Ugh… I wish I didn’t have to be a girl in this life… But being Rainbow Dash makes up for that, so what am I saying? “The second is because you turned in that dreadful criminal, and saved that wonderful little girl after that!” Ah, she must mean when I first met Scootaloo! I remember the first day I saw her kind and innocent little face, even if she was traumatized… Oh yeah, FLASHBACK TIME!
----Flashback----
“YES! I’ve done it! The Sonic Rainboom!” I dance, remembering what happened yesterday. I’m in a walk in the streets of Cloudsdale Shades, the place where I live, and where the most evil pegasi in the land live, aside from my family, who are angelic. I hear a little muffled whimper. I look in where it’s coming from, and see that in there, there’s a stallion holding a knife in his mouth and a filly who looks awfully familiar, with those tiny wings, and that lavender mane, and the tan coat- wait… That looks like Scootalo! Oh, no. I’ve never met her before now, and I like her. It seems like this man… Memories of ‘A Fun Day’ are coming back to me extremely fast. I read the MSTed fic, and I couldn’t bear it even then. THAT is why I would never want Scootaloo hurt or abused. I hope the evil man who wrote that story will burn in hell AND Tartarus, even if he was drunk. Anyway, Scootaloo’s hogtied, with a handkerchief tied around her mouth. I never knew how Rainbow and Scootaloo met… I dash into the room, hiding in the corner. I look around, and that guy is laughing evilly.
“Soon, you will die, Scootaloo, filly, for what your parents once did to me!” If there was ever any doubt about it, then it was quashed by this sentence (What does quashed mean anyway? It just seems like it’s a rich pony’s squashed). I zoom out of the corner, and hope dawns on Scootaloo’s face. She looks like she’s about to yell out, but I put a hoof in front of my mouth, and get back to untying her.
“Run,” I whisper to her. She smiles, and runs. At the sound of the clops of her feet, the stallion turns around, and anger starts to appear on his face.
“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! I’VE WANTED TO GET REVENGE ON HER PARENTS ALL THESE YEARS, AND FINALLY KILLED THEM AND WAS ABOUT TO KILL HER!” After this he laughs insanely. “I would never have had to kill them if they didn’t refuse to buy my watch! That drove me to kill many ponies, and finally get to them! But YOU decide to come in and foil my plans! I’ll kill you now!” He says, still laughing insanely. I dash around him, and bonk him in the back of the head. He spins a few times, and then faints. The physics of worlds like these tend to happen in the most disturbing of circumstances…
“Thank gosh I got that bastard,” I breathe under my breath (Repetition, much?). I pick him up, and decide there’s only one place for him to go.
----Flashback Canterlot----
I burst in through the doors of the castle. “Princess Celestia!” Sure enough, she’s on her throne, with Twilight Sparkle doing her work at a place near her. “Thank gosh you’re here! I saved a pony from this insane pony, and then knocked him out to bring him to you! And apparently, he’s… murdered… somepony…” I say, just recently noticing my tiredness.
I’m hearing some voices, now. “…She alright? …better…was.” Everything becomes clear, then I wake up properly. There’s some doctors above me, one of them being tall, thin and having a cutie mark of a red cross, that one standing out the most. They’re looking at me. I then remember what happened. That criminal! I get up, and try to bolt to the throne room, but I’m stopped by Celestia, who is already there. Huh. Didn’t see her there…
“What is your name?” asks Celestia patiently.
“The name’s Rainbow Dash, the fastest pony in all of Equestria!” I boast. Of course, it’s not really boasting, since it’s true that I’m the fastest pony as far as I know… oookay, maybe I should stop this now, because I’m kind of starting to sound like the ‘GREEEEAAAT and POWWWEEERRRFUUUL Trrrixie!’ with these conceited thoughts. I then say hastily to the princess, trying not to offend her, “Uhh, aside from your majesty, of course.” Because it would save face to not be arrogant, you know. Celestia has an amused look on her face. “Oh, and remember that Sonic Rainboom yesterday? I was the one who did it,” I say, with a smug look on my face. “Oh, and what happened to the guy I brought in?” I ask, curious.
“He was a wanted criminal in all of Equestria. Your family, and you, will be rewarded for this,” says Celestia, a mysterious smile on her face. Ookayy, so I’ll be rewarded for it? That’s not completely vague at all. “But for now, I think you should get back to your family. They are worried about you,” she continues. I blink. Oh darn it! I run for the door, go through the corridors, bumping into some people on the way-hey is that Twilight Sparkle-and reach the outside, after which I fly up high, start flying down at an incredible speed, do the Rainboom, and speed back home.
----Flashback Over----
And that’s how I met Scootaloo, did my second Sonic Rainboom early, saw Twilight Sparkle, and saved Equestria from a criminal. By the way, summer flight camp is a pre-school thingy for pegasi to teach them the basics of flying and weather manipulation.
“ Anyway, dear, I just got word from Canterlot that the term starts soon!” mum says, excited. I grumble. Hopefully it’ll be over just as fast.
A/N: Hey there peeps! Thanks for the reviews, and I edited the first chapter a little. If it wasn’t obvious, though, Celestia didn’t know me/Dash. My explanation is that that Celestia was from the future, and went back in time, not causing a time paradox, to get the new Rainbow Dash recruited. Me/Dash already suspected this, however, and that’s why he/she wasn’t surprised about Celestia not knowing him/her. Also, you don’t really think Celestia would just have an academy for unicorns only, would you? That’d be almost downright racism, and anyone who said she was racist who liked bananas would become a beeyotch who likes bananas on the moon who said Celestia was racist. Also, the life cycle of the ponies in this story, who are a species of horse named Equus Sapiens Sapiens, is that they live up to the same age as humans, except for alicorns, of course, who are immortal, but start school at 6, and finish at 12, where they are then considered legally adults. Also, the mane characters are these ages: Applejack is 13 and 9 months old, Rainbow Dash/me is 12, Twilight is 13, Pinkie is 11 and 6 months under the Cakes’ apprenticeship, Fluttershy is 12, and Rarity is 16, considerably older than the rest to account for her more mature behaviour than most of them and older voice. The CMCs are 9 years old each. I believe I have been rambling, but I’ll be able to stop in 10. Seconds. Flat. Seeya next time!
Chapter 3: Before the Beginning 2

I groan. When are we gonna get to Canterlot? Darn, I wish I could bring mum, Scootaloo, and dad with me when I did a Sonic Rainboom. Oh! Did I mention that after Scootaloo was kidnapped, Mum and Dad adopted her since her parents were dead? Well, they did. And have I ever told you that Scootaloo is adorable as hay? Well, she is, so I wonder if mum and dad will let me bring Scoots with me to Ponyville (both cause I don’t wanna miss her and cause I don’t want canon to be completely ruined), or even- “We’re here!” yells the Pegasus at the helm of the airboat.
“Finally,” I groan. I then perk up. “When are we going to the school?” I ask, mum and dad getting out, with mum holding Scoots on her back. They look hesitant for a moment, then dad answers.
“My beautiful daughter, we’re going there immediately to enrol you! Would you think otherwise?” dad booms boisterously. I facehoof. Typical dad behaviour…
“Alrighty, let’s get going then! I wanna get this over with as quick as possible,” I say. Mum and dad move in a direction, and then turn the corner. I follow them, and the school is right there. Ah! That was easy. “Ah! That was easy,” I say, voicing my thoughts. There are three doorways, with one saying ‘Pegasi’ above it, another saying ‘unicorn’, and the last saying ‘earth pony’. I go into the one with Pegasi above it, and there’s a Pegasus at the desk. I ring the bell, and she looks up. I look back at mum and dad nervously. They nod at me. You see, I have a little trouble opening up to people I don’t know, as part of my Asperger’s syndrome, PROFESSIONALY diagnosed in my past life and this one. It’s a lot easier than it used to be, but I still get a bit nervous when first meeting someone. “Uhh… I’m Rainbow Dash…?” I say nervously.
“Oh! That new one! The principal headmaster said that she wants you in her office.” And yes, she did say principal headmaster. I believe that means that the headmaster who is in charge of the other headmasters. And that would be…
“Princess Celestia? Did I hear you right?!” asks mum, still shocked.
“Yes, you did hear right,” she says. “I want to take on your daughter as an apprentice.” I don’t show this, but I’m really surprised by this. “Besides, my current apprentice requires some more friends. It doesn’t really help that she has Asperghay’s syndrome, either,” she finishes. Oh, did I forget to mention that Asperghay's syndrome is the pony name for Asperger's? Well, it is.
“But she’s not a unicorn!” mum almost screams. At this, Celestia flourishes her wings. “…Oh.”
“Yes, I can teach her to fly and use weather magic, both to an extremely high degree. However, I can also teach her to use proper magic. She has an aptitude for proper magic. I cannot say right now, but soon, I can…” says Celestia, although her face is shifting around for some reason… nah, must be coincidental. I’m happy, because this awesomeness just will… NOT… END!!!! AWESOMETASTIC, MEANING 20% COOLER THAN ANYTHING ELSE!!!!! AND THAT IS NOW OFFICIALLY A WORD!!!!!! INCREASING EXCLAMATION MARKS AT THE END OF MY SENTENCE FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!
Anyway, enough of that randomness. Now it’s time to get goin’ and start learnin’. “Hey, Celestia? Could you just let me say bye to my parents?” I ask. Celestia nods. I go to hug mum, and she launches into my arms.
“I’ll miss you, Rainbow… Oh, and if you ever go to Ponyville as part of the apprenticeship, then say hello to your cousin! Her name is Rarity, by the way,” says mum. I blink. Oh, darn it! Of ALL the ponies to be my cousin, it HAS to be Rarity. You see, mum always mentioned a cousin that she wished I could be more like, but never said who it was. Anyway, I finish the hug, and go to hug dad, who literally – I repeat, LITERALLY – jumps into my arms.
"Rainbow, my daughter! I will miss you!" he cries, hugging me. I hug him back. I'll miss him too, but it's not like I won't see him in the special events of the year seeing as they're moving here too. Then, Scoots (I like that nickname, and remember, she's my adopted li'l sis) comes up to hug me.
"I'll miss you, sis," she cries into my arms. I smile.
"I'll miss you too, Scoots," I say. "Well, bye everypony," I say, letting go of Scoots and saluting my family. Celestia nods at me, and I follow, waving at my family until they're out of sight. "So, what first?" I ask.
"I have another student other than you, Rainbow Dash," says Celestia. What is it with royalty and being so formal, anyway? It's like they're - actually, I better not think that in case Alicorns can read minds consciously. Anyway, I'm guessing she means Twilight, and my theory is confirmed by her words "Her name is Twilight Sparkle. She requires a few friends, you see, and I would like you to make friends with her before she grows up to consider them unimportant." Ah! So she's basically asking me to make Twilight friendlier by the time we grow up! This should be easy.
Apparently it's not going to be as easy as I thought it was, since Twilight isn't opening up as easily as I thought she would. You see, even though in the episode Cutie Mark Chronicles, she doesn't come off as shy, apparently, that's only when adults are around. With other children however...
"...Why are you here?" she asks, in a voice so quiet that it could give Fluttershy a run for her money! Well, the original one, anyway. This one's a bit... different.
"Hi! My name's Rainbow Dash!" I say boisterously, smiling at her. She retreats back into her mane. Awwww! So cute, I could just pat her like a dog (Hey, even guys can occasionally pet things and call them cute too)!... No, wait, be strong, Rainbow! Wow, that was the first time I referred to myself in the third person in my thoughts, and it's kinda weird. Anyway, I have an image to uphold! I decide instead to smile at her some more, and say "Wanna play a game?" She looks at me under her mane, and then whispers something inaudible. I ask "What was that?" She says it again, even quieter. I sigh, and then pick out the syllables and discover that she said maybe.
“What game?” she asks. I sigh, a little louder this time, and think for a little. What would be a good game to play? Ah! I know!
“Let’s play tag!” I say loudly. This makes her squeak and retreat into her mane a little more. It’s kinda creepy, how much young Twilight is like Fluttershy. I’m guessing she’s only like this around other children, considering that she was bullied a lot about her Smarty-Pants doll before she transferred to this school rather than her original school, which she probably stayed in for about 3 or so months before she moved. Redundancy for the win! Aaanyway, I also say “Don’t be shy. I won’t bully you.” At this she perks up. It’s nice to see her happier.
“So, how do I play this ‘tag’ game?” asks Twilight. She’s talking in a normal voice now. That’s good.
“One pe-” Whoops, slip of the tongue! I quickly amend, and then continue, it with “Pony is ‘it’, which means that they have to go and ‘tag’ the other pony. Tag means tap them with a foreleg hoof. After the pony gets the other pony, then the other pony has to go and tag the other pony,” I explain. Wow, I never thought that I’d have to explain the rules of tag to somepony. She seems to be interested, so I say “I’m it first! I’ll give you 10 seconds to run and hide, and then I go get you!” She nods, and then runs off. I’m gonna hold back on her, of course. She wouldn’t really stand a chance against a future Wonderbolt. I laugh, and we start playing.
It’s the end of the day, and Twilight and I have finished playing together. I asked Celestia about why she let us have a day off, and she responded with this: “Twilight needs friends. You are the perfect friend for her, of that I am sure. I let you have a day off because you needed to get to know each other more.” That makes sense, I guess. Anyway, Twilight and I had a lot of fun.
“Hey Twilight!” I say. “You’re a pretty good friend.” She smiles, as well as looking truly happy, the happiest I’ve ever seen her. Oh, and I bet you’re wondering where Spike is, right? Right now, Spike is being taken care of by the royal guard (I know this ‘cause Twilight told me that earlier), since Twilight’s not old enough to have a child. Anyway, I go to my room, which Celestia showed me earlier today before introducing me to Twilight, and go to sleep thinking about the Wonderbolts.
The Wonderbolts. The most awesome group of pegasi in Equestria. They’re just as awesome as the original Rainbow Dash said, and you wouldn’t know just how awesome they are until you saw them firsthand. They’re much more impressive than they are in the show. That’s one reason why I want to get in them like the original Rainbow Dash did. The other reason, however, is because of the gender-concealing outfit. And that’s all there is to know about Wonderbolts! So, I better get to sleep. I’m starting… t’ ge’… ti’d… I ge’… I’… m’… be’… and then blackness.
----One Year Later----
I wake up. Ahhhh, what a good past year! In the last year, Twilight has gotten a lot less shyer than she was when I first met her. Also, I’ve learnt a lot about the biology of the creatures of Equestria, both sentient and non-sentient. I get up out of my bed, and go to leave my room. My eyes still half-lidded, I open the door to see Celestia in front of it. This, of course, jolts me wide awake. “Celestia! What are you doing here?!” I say, in a shocked tone. She just giggles slightly, but then her face turns serious.
“Rainbow, I need you and Twilight to meet me in the royal archives at 8,” she says, her voice as serious as her face. I frown. Something so serious must be bad for Celestia to call us both to the archives. She’s only done this once before, when there was an impending invasion of Equestria from the Griffons, who we’ve had, well, let’s just say that ‘Bad’ is an understatement, political relationships, even if individuals were friends, such as Gilda and I(Gilda was actually pretty cool most of the time, and wasn’t a jerk. Something must happen in between the series and the original Rainbow saying goodbye to Gilda, and in this case me saying bye to her).
I nod, and then I run to Twilight’s room. I knock on the door. “Coming in a second,” sounds her response, in the form of a little groan, from the door. When she opens it, and sees me, she groans, probably assuming it’s one of my times when I wake her up to show her tricks. “What is it, Rainbow?” she asks.
“Celestia said we need to meet in the royal archives,” I say, with a serious look on my face. Twilight immediately stops with her groaning and perks up, her ears going up alongside her mood.
“I wonder what it is that the princess is going to show us, or tell us. Maybe it’s something like how we’re actually an extremely advanced race of predecessors to everything else in the galaxy, and most people in Equestria don’t know that. Oh, or maybe it’s…” Twilight goes on. She sometimes does tangents like this, and they usually don’t take too long to calm down.
---7:59, Royal Archives----
“…And that’s why Starswirl the Bearded is my favourite pony ever!” continues Twilight. Gosh, I can almost see why she’s so excited. That was sarcasm by the way. “Oh! It’s 5 seconds until 8! I better finish up-” says Twilight, and at the end of the sentence, in teleports Shining Armour and Celestia. Shining Armour is a pretty cool guy, eh kills monsters and doesn’t afraid of anything. But in the last year we’ve become pretty good friends. He’s one of the only non-stuffy unicorns here. Seriously, you would not believe how stuffy the unicorns here are. They give Blueblood a run for his money, and that’s why I was so relieved when I met someone who wasn’t stuffy. So, onto the topic!
"Why is it you've called us here, Celestia?" I say, looking confused. Celestia just shakes her head.

"The reason I have called you two is to reveal a secret that has been kept for seven years. A secret that nopony knows or should know." At this, Celestia's face goes to a grim reprise. "The secret is..." She pauses for effect. Twilight stares at her. My face goes serious. "Rainbow Dash, you are not a pegasi like you thought. Rather, you are much more than that, with so much potential." I'm confused. If I wasn't a pegasi like the original Rainbow Dash probably (and I say PROBABLY) was, then what was I? Celestia leans in. "You are..." she looks around to make sure they're ready, and then finishes up with, "an Alicorn."
AN: Bet you weren't expecting that! Anyway, to combat the Mary Sue/Marty Stu archetype, I would like some other writers to write stories which happen in the same universe as this. Okay, the story is the mane six and another (Derpy), as well as the CMC aside from Scootaloo, have had their souls diverted, aside from Twilight. So, the first 7 who comment get to write those sections of the chapters on google docs, and those chapters. It can be an OC who gets reincarnated, or a self-insert; it doesn't really matter. Anyway, seeya next time!
Chapter 4: Before the Beginning 3
Becoming Rainbow Dash
Everything is quiet for a few seconds. Then, I start to chuckle. Soon, the chuckle turns into full-blown laughter. “Did you really,” I wheeze in between laughs, “think I would… fall for that?” I mean, seriously, this is probably all a prank. “Such a stupid… prank?” I then see the look on Celestia’s face. It’s not a laughing look. I immediately stop laughing. “It’s… not a prank?” Celestia shakes her head.
“No, this is not a prank. It is far more serious than that.” Woah, I’ve only ever seen Celestia so serious once before, and that was when she told me about Discord. Wait… if I’m an Alicorn, where is my horn? “You may be wondering where your horn is. Actually, it has been there all along, just invisible to the eye, as it is extremely tiny due to a spell I cast on there when you were born, and cannot be touched due to a phasing spell. Just let me remove the spells…” she says. Her horn glows… and I don’t feel any different. “Feel your forehead,” instructs Celestia. I reach my hoof up to my forehead. It stops, and I feel something that wasn’t there before. A horn.
My eyes light up with joy. “SO AWESOME!” I say, making the famous /^3^\ face. Since I’m an Alicorn, I should be awesomely powerful! And I’m probably the god of something… maybe weather. All the Alicorns I’ve seen are gods, Celestia of the sun, Luna of the moon, and Cadance(or Cadence, I can never get the right one) of love. Also, I’ll be… immortal… Oh Tartarus. Being immortal means I outlive my own family, and sisters… and Scoots. Oh Alicorn… Alicorn darn… Wait, someone’s shaking me. I shake my head, and notice it’s Twilight who’s shaking me.
“What’s wrong, Rainbow?” she asks. I shake my head. She probably wouldn’t understand, but I’ll tell her what’s wrong anyway
“I’m immortal, Twilight. That means I’ll outlive almost everypony I know. That means while you grow old, I’ll still stay like this for years.” Actually, she’ll grow old except if the Elements of Harmony make her immortal, which is a possibility. That way, we can all live to the same age. Hmmm… should I ask about Alicornal biology? Yeah, I probably should. That way, I’d know what things would be like. “Hey, Celestia? Could you give me a crash course on Alicornal biology?
“Of course, Rainbow Dash,” says Celestia. “Well, first you need to understand that Alicorns are completely different from the pegasi, so forget everything about pegasi biology, except for,” and at this she blushes, “the wing pomfing.” I chuckle. She continues, however. “Now, Alicorns are a lot more endurant than all other races of ponykind, other than the bearers of the Elements of Harmony, who can endure the same amount of punishment as Alicorns. Also, all Alicorns have a special gene in their biology which depicts the Alicornal relationship between them and other Alicorns. You see, Luna, my sister who became Nightmare Moon, and I are not biological sisters, but we are Alicornal sisters. That means that the special gene indicated the two of us as sisters. When you were a baby, I checked your Alicornal gene, and it turns out your gene marks you as our Alicornal sister.” I groan. This sounds really corny. Like something from a cheap fanfic. Actually, somewhere in the multiverse this is probably being written as a fanfic. Anyway, she continues droning on about Alicornal biology, with her words being “Alicorns also have extremely high-level immune systems, so they cannot get sick, and photographic memory, which helps them remember everything they’ve seen, except for some specific times, such as birth.” Huh. That explains why I can remember everything so clearly, and the reason I remember my birth must be ‘cause I’m a reincarnation. “Only reincarnations can do that, and I know that there are two in this very room.” Two? As far as I know, I’m the only reincarnation in this room, but I also know that this Celestia shouldn’t know about me being reincarnated. Twilight is confused, while I try to act confused while panicking, but fail, and panic, looking around the room in frenzy. While I’m panicking, I notice Shining also panics… does this mean he’s the other reincarnation?
This has gone on long enough, though. I sigh, and for some reason Shining also sighs. At the same time. Yeah, like there were enough clues that he was the other reincarnation already! “How did you find out?” we both say, at exactly the same time to Celestia.
“I found out about you,” she gestures to Shining, “when you told me about something that you probably would have known, if you had been there at the time. It was telling me about how you think Twilight’s exam went and the things she did the day after she joined, when in actuality, you could have never known that, as her parents did not send a letter to you until the day after that, and you only saw Twilight the day you got the letter. As for you,” she points at me, “my future self informed me about you. So please explain how you knew that information, Shining?”
“Well…” Shining says, obviously a bit shocked by being found out, “in my past life, I was a fan of a show which showed this world’s happenings, and-“
“Brony or Pegasister?” I ask, interrupting him. He looks at me, then shrugs and responds.
“Brony,” he says. “I’m guessing you were from the same world?” I nod. “So were you a Brony or a Pegasister?” he asks.
I grumble. “Guess,” I say, with a look on my face saying how I feel (which is annoyed). He thinks for a minute, then starts chuckling. Soon it turns to full-blown laughter.
“You-” he says, in between laughter, “You were a- a brony? That is just…” He laughs even harder.
“Like you know what it’s like to be a female after being years of a male… not to mention having WINGS,” I grumble, my face in a look of exasperation
Celestia is confused to say the least. “‘Brony’? ‘Pegasister’? What do those terms mean?” I look at Shining. He looks at me. He pouts. DARNIT, WHY THE HAY DO PONIES HAVE TO HAVE SUCH CUTE FACES?! I sigh, my eyes half-lidded.
“‘Brony’ is a colloquial term describing older males with an interest in... uhh... watching this world through magic," I lie, out of my teeth, "in our previous world. ‘Pegasister’ is the colloquial term for a female.” I sigh, hoping that that explained it to them. Twilight, however, is starting to giggle. “Anything wrong, Twilight?” I snark, looking at her.
“This explains why you were always looking at the mares in the garden!” she says, bursting into laughter. WHY is everypony so insensitive to my plight?
“Imagine that you suddenly, unknowingly, transformed into a stallion after years of your life!” She suddenly goes quiet, and emits a squeak. I scowl. “Would you still act the same if that happened?!” After a bit of thinking, she nods her head, retreating into her mane. Oh, darn it! I scared her. I forgot that when Twilight is scared, she acts like the Fluttershy from the show. She taps her hoof on the ground, squeaking, and looks away. I smile awkwardly. “Hey, Twilight? I’m sorry about scaring you.” She looks at me for a second, and then goes out of her mane a little bit.
Then, she says “I f…ve…u,” very quietly. I know that means I forgive you. I could pick out the basic syllables.
“Anyway, I have not told you everything about Alicorns yet, SISTER,” interrupts Celestia, with her trademark trollface and everything. “As an Alicorn, you have many responsibilities, especially since you have become a princess due to a particularly obscure law, right in the back of the book of laws next to the law saying ‘Antidisestablishmentarianism is illegal in Equestria,’ saying that ‘All Alicorns are immediately made princesses or princes depending on their gender.’ This law may be slightly weird, but imagine that you had all sorts of laws like that. Also, Alicorns have alternate names to their original names. This is so they can tell ponies their real, or birth name, while still being a princess.” After a minute of thinking, I have an idea. I whisper something into Celestia’s ear, and she nods, almost imperceptibly, and says “Alright, so you shall take the name of ‘Spectra’?”
“Yup!” I nod, excitedly. I mean, it sounds awesome! However, I dunno what Celestia thinks about this anyway… “So when am I introduced to the public?”
“Tomorrow, at noon. Now, I just have one last thing to say to the three of you, this time concerning Twilight.” At this, the other two stop talking to each other, and start listening to Celestia. “Twilight, you have much potential in magic, but if you do not keep it under control, it could backfire, in a potentially deadly manner. Many mares may meet me and ask any way how they can stop this. The only way is through control of your magic, and not overexert yourself.” So, if Twilight ever overdoes magic, she might die? There’s only one thing I can think to that. Well, shit.
“We are done here. You may go and gallop off to whatever you’re doing,” says Celestia. I pump my fist… hoof… WHATEVER! The point is, I’m excited.
We’re out of the building, and Shining comes up to me. “Hey, dude,” he says. I nod.
“Hey, Shines.” He stares at me. “Hey, what? I couldn’t just come up with an awesome name for you.” Mostly because I’m reserving those for other ponies… “I’ll call you that if you don’t tell me your past name,” I snicker. He scowls at how I’m trying to… ‘Persuade’ him (Blackmail is a stupid word, anyway. Who would wanna mail something black to someone? What’s the etymology for that stupid word, anyway?).
He looks conflicted for a few seconds, then answers. “It was Rick.” When he says that name, I struggle to not laugh. Oh, Celestia, please don’t crack up, please don’t… I crack up. Rick! I mean, such a stupid name! It makes me remember the rick roll!
“I think I like Shining Armour better than,” I struggle to stop myself from laughing, “Rick.” He glares at me. “Sorry, dude, I just can’t help it!” I say, still stopping myself from cracking up. Wait a second… “Why is your name Shining Armour when your parent’s last names are Sparkle? Unless… Armour is your middle name?” He looks away, embarrassed. I burst out into laughter again. “Oh, Shining Sparkle! I can’t believe that your name is Shining Sparkle! Haha, this is priceless!”
He glares at me. “You can stop making fun of my name now. Oh, and I wonder what your past name was, Dashie,” he says. I grin.
“Sure! I’ll tell you! It’s more awesome than ‘Rick’ at least!” I snicker. He scowls, then waits expectantly. “It was *****.”
“Wait, what? But that means-” I nod. “Really? I would’ve expected somebody else to have that name… Anyway, what’s it like being female?”
I reply with “Yes, I know, I know, to the first, and it’s not really too different from being male, except that, you know, your ‘Bishop’ isn’t there… Anyway, friends?” I ask, putting my hoof out.
“Friends,” he smiles, putting his hoof out. Rather than just shaking it like he expects me to, I bump his hoof twice with one of mine while hitting my chest, or abdomen, or whatever the official pony definition is, with the other. You know, like in that live-action show Community? He smiles, and goes along with it.
“RAINBOW!” I hear Celestia calling. “It is time!” I groan.
“Well, see ya, I gotta go introduce myself to the ‘Sophisticated poshlings of Canterlot,’” I snark, getting a laugh out of him. You know, he’s a pretty cool guy, now that I’ve got to know him a little. I fly off, to Celestia. I wave to the gardener, who’s a unicorn pony (That donkey who looked like the gardener in the ‘Best Night Ever’ episode can also be seen in the background at the start of ‘The Ticket Master’ episode). I see all the awesome plants and trees and animals. Finally I get there, and sigh. “I’m ready,” I groan. Celestia nods almost imperceptibly, but not TOO imperceptibly, otherwise I would have caught it.
“Go on,” she beckons to the curtains there, which are in front of a stage. I start moving towards there, but before I go through, she says quietly “And good luck.” I take a deep breath, and step through the curtains.
AN: Finally, I’ve finished this chapter. I’m sorry, I get distracted kinda easily, but now it’s all done, but not necessarily dusted. Hopefully it went a little slower than my other, previous chapters of fics went, so I’d like you to be brutally honest about it. The reason I write these fanfics isn’t because I wanna be well known, by the way (although I kinda do), but rather for fun. Even though I do want to be well known. Also, any nitpickers who think that ponies say only “Everypony” and the like, they also say “Someone”, as AJ does in Winter Wrap-up song, and “Somebody”, like Rainbow in ‘A Bird in the Hoof’. Oh, and three things: one, I’d like some volunteers to write portions of this story about themselves as the reincarnated mane six then submit them to me (except for twilight, of course, since she already has an established personality), and have me judge the best which I like and they can work on this story with me, and have other people write other fics about Celestia doing this to them, causing this be a mini-verse or something like Chess Game of the Gods. And two, Rick is my OC, not anyone I know or anything, so you can be forgiven if you think otherwise. Finally, three: Could someone please post a better name for this in the comments? I’ll choose the one I like the most. Anyway, see you next time on this fic!
Chapter 5: Just Before the Beginning

Actually, that was a lie. I don’t step through the curtains immediately. “What about my magic?” I ask Celestia. She stiffens, her eyes widening slightly, but after a few seconds of waiting she sighs and beckons for me to come to her. I trot over to her.
“The introduction can wait for a few minutes,” says Celestia. She then tells a lone guard to tell the announcement guards to stall for a few minutes. Once the guard is gone, she turns back to me. “When I told you that you were an Alicorn, I knew you would ask me that. I had suppressed your magic at birth significantly; enough so that you could only do basic unicorn spells. The reason is because your magic is extremely powerful, equal to only one other creature in history. That creature is Discord.” BEEEEEP! All aboard the Mary Sue train! Seriously, I’m probably gonna be overpowered by the time the actual show starts. I won’t be perfect, though. “The reason that is dangerous, however, is that creatures that powerful only have to think about something for it to happen. Have you ever thought about killing somepony?” I pause for a moment, then hesitantly nod. “Well, were your magic at full strength, it would have killed them.” What? I can kill people with a thought? I can kill people… with a thought… with my magic at full? This is not good. I’m lucky that that she suppressed it at birth… “However,” says Celestia. I perk up, excited at a chance of this not happening. “I can cast a filter on your magic that makes it happen only when you do a certain action; in your case, click your tongue.” That sounds pretty cool! “However, you can’t do that all day, so you have to not do it so much, or else you’ll become obsessed with that power.” Ahh, that rings true.
“I Pinkie promise.” At Celestia’s confused look, I quickly add “Pinkie is a pony from the future who we’ve seen who has a special promise which can never be broken. Cross my heart,” I make cross motions over my heart, “Hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my- OW SON OF A-!” when at the end I stick my hoof into my eye. At this last bit, Celestia chuckles a little.
“Language, Spectra,” she chides. Oh, forgot I needed to be referred to as my ‘Princess Name’ (On second thought, it should be ‘royal name’. Princess name sounds a bit too… girly for my tastes). “And remember, you are going to be introduced to the public soon, so at least try to be a LITTLE polite. And remember, you are not eligible for ruling until you reach 12,” she says, and I’ve gotta say, she’s kinda got a point there with the politeness thing. Because the public wouldn’t take it well if their newest ruler was ‘uncouth’… Actually, I’ll be impolite to them. It makes sense. I wonder if Blueblood is there. This may seem like quite the non-sequiter (Ahh, the wonders of fake sophistication), but it’s actually because I wonder how he would treat a princess who is ‘uncouth’ (Yay for thought air quotes!) the majority of the time. “Spectra? It is time,” says the princess – actually, she’s technically my sister now, and sometime in the future my trico-ruler or whatever.
I nod. I move up to the stage and exit the curtains. At this the lights go off, and a spotlight focuses on me (Yes, there is modern day technology in Equestria. Like TVs, and all that stuff). “Heh,” I smirk. It’s time to introduce myself. “HEY THERE EVERYPONY!” I Yell. Yes, Yell with a capital Y. At this, the crowd jaw-drops. “Yeah, that’s right. I’m a filly. Who the hay cares about that anyway? I feathering hate that ponies just think I can’t do anything just because I’m a little foal. Well, I’m the new princess, Princess Spectra. And that’s all I have to say about that.” I leave, smirking at the reference at the end. I enter backstage, and see Celestia. “Hey Celestia!” I yell at her. She looks over at me. “I’m done.”
“Good. Now you may go.” I cheer.
Now I wonder, where would Blueblood be?
I grin. Today was a pretty good day, after that thing. You know, the princess introduction thing. Anyway, I played some video games (Yes, they exist in Equestria. Don’t question it), including Super Marihoof (Lame puns abound!) Sunshine. It was pretty good, to be honest. FLUDD, however? Let’s just say he’s the same as ever. I also did some racing, and right now, I’m going to see Shines. I like to call him that, mostly ‘cause it’s t- NO! BAD RAINBOW! OVERUSED JOKE! Hehehe… Sorry ‘bout that. I nearly had to make the Suited for Success joke. Anyway, it’s a cooler name than his real names. You know, I’ve always wondered why ponies – or I guess I should say ‘we’ now, considering I’m a pony – name their children exactly what they’re gonna be when they grow up. Maybe it’s some sorta latent prophetic powers? I dunno. Anyway, I think I can see Blueblo- “Hey, you!” Yup, definitely Blueblood. I look at his cutie mark just in case… and it’s Blueblood’s star thingy anyway. I walk up to him, considering he’s looking right at me. He glares at me. “How an uncouth felon like you is an Alicorn is a mystery, but you are one, which makes you a princess. “Any rude and uncouth filly like you is certainly of no royal blood.” He sticks his nose up into the air and walks away. Hopefully he’ll stop being a jerk to me. Eventually. Anyway, I continue walking. What was I thinking about before that? Oh yeah. Latent talent prophecies. I don’t see why that would be – WHOA WHOA WHOA! Lucky me. That I stopped, that is. I was gonna crash into Discord. I sigh.
I wonder if Discord is able to read thoughts and communicate through them. “‘Actually I can,’” comes a voice outta freaking nowhere! “‘So, I see there’s a new princess! Ahh, the wonders that the chaotic world of genetics can produce. And this voice isn’t coming outta freaking nowhere. This voice has a name, you know.”’ Shut up, Disco Dude. “‘Ooh! Nice one, Rainbow-bow! Anyway, I’ll shut up if you don’t want to go insane because Alicorns cannot be tainted by chaos. But personally, I don’t see anything wrong with being insane. You probably do though.’” Good. Anyway, I run away from there as fast as I can. Discord is kinda… weird. I mean, he just took my insult to his face and complimented it. But that’s the kinda guy he is. And yes, Discord is a male. It was obvious from his voice, just in case any of you had any doubts about that. Anyway, I’ve gotta get to Shines. ----5 Years Later----
I wake up. Ahh, these past 5 years have been so eventful. /sarcasm mode disengaged/ Seriously, it’s been boring. I mean, as a princess, it’s all ‘Paperwork’ this, and ‘Pass a legislation’ that. Even though I’m mature for my age (due to the whole reincarnation thing), they don’t need me to do that! Anyway, it seems more like a demonarchracy (yay for portmanteaus!) than a monarchy. There’s a democracy, except there are also monarchs. Actually, it’s technically a triarchy, or will be when Luna comes back! Anyway, I’m on my way to visit Twilight.
Tomorrow is the Summer Sun Celebration. I look and sound exactly like the show’s Rainbow Dash. Furthermore, it’s the 1000th year since Nightmare Moon escaped. That’s why I’m visiting her. You know, I never thought that ponies became officially adults at 12 (That’s my age, don’t wear it out). It’s almost as if Celestia expects nothing to happen. Oh, that’s right! Nothing does happen in most of Equestria! In fact, so much nothing happens that things actually happen! Becau- “Hey, Spectra! What’re you doing here?” I shake my head and look at the being (hey, you never know in Equestria) who talked.
“Oh, hey there Spike,” I say. “Wait, am I at Twilight’s already? And I thought I told you that you can call me Rainbow Dash!”
“Okay, okay. And yes, you’re here. I was just gonna get my present for Moon Dancer wrapped up. Wanna help?” I smile, and nod. After all, who could refuse such an awesome dragon? Oh, and since I helped raise Spike, he’s… well, let’s just say slightly more manly. And by that, I mean he’s the same Spike from the show, just slightly more like his older counterpart from ‘A Dog and Pony Show,’ except his size is about up to a pony’s head. That’s pretty big, though.
“So, where does this thing go?”
----3 minutes later----
Everything was wrapped up around a minute ago. Geddit? Wrapped up? “Hey, Dash? I’ll go now,” says Spike. He goes to the door. 3… 2… 1…
The doors burst open, and Twilight rushes in. “Spike? Spectra? Anyone?!” she yells out.
“I told you to not call me Spectra! Oh, and you ran into Spike,” I point out. Twilight looks down. She sighs.
“Okay, Dash. But I need to find something on the Elements of Harmony!” Twi yells. I sigh. I use my telekinesis to grab ‘Legends of Ponykind’. That, by the way, is the book that Twilight uses in the first two episodes to discover about the MacGuffins.
Spike shakes Twilight’s charge off, and sighs with a depressed face. “I was gonna give that to Moon Dancer…” I give him a pat on the back.
“Sorry buddy, but there’s a lesson of life you need to learn: Sh-” At my statement Twilight glares at me. Not the kind of glare which says ‘I hate you. Die,’ but the kind which says ‘Don’t say that stuff around the kid.’ “I mean, stuff happens,” I chuckle nervously.
Twilight goes back to her book, and opens it. “Elements, Elements, Elements… Aha! Elements of Harmony, see Mare in the Moon?”
“Mare in the Moon? But that’s just an old Flutterpony tale. Even if I do wanna fight her…” says Spike. Oh yeah! Did I mention Spike likes to fight now? “But anyway, I don’t think this is a danger…” he finishes.
“Mare in the Moon. Imprisoned by the princess using the Elements of Harmony on the longest day of the year, Summer Sun celebration invented to celebrate her victory over the evil Nightmare Moon, on the longest day of the 1000th year of her imprisonment the stars will aid in her escape? Dash, do you know what this means?!” says Twilight. I sigh.
“Yeah; you’re gonna send a letter to Celestia,” (or as I like to call her, CelCels) “she’ll send one back and tell you to oversee the Summer Sun Celebration,” I snark, deadpannily. As a deadpan snarker.
“That makes sense! You see, that’s where the old legends say that Nightmare Moon will show up! Spike, take a note!” yells Twilight. I do a tiny smirk. Good that Twilight figured that out. Spike takes out a scroll, and starts scribing for Twilight.
“Dear Princess Celestia, I have discovered something important, and we are now on the precibus of disaster!” Spike looks confused at the last word of Twilight.
“Preci…? Pre…?” asks Spike. Same old spike from the show.
“P R E C I B U S, buddy,” I tell Spike. He perks up and writes it down.
“Nightmare Moon is going to invade Equestria tomorrow, and plunge it into eternal darkness! It is imperative that we solve this at once!” Spike looks confused again. “Just write ‘really important!’ Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.” Spike finishes up with a dot, and breathes fire out to send it to the CelCels (she really hates that name, and that’s why I call her that).
Spike burps up the answer. "Good! I knew Celestia wouldn't doubt me!" At this, Spike starts reading the letter.
“My faithful student Twilight, you are a very smart pony,” reads Spike. At this Twilight nods, satisfied. “But you simply must reading those dusty old books!” At this, her head twitches. “Speccy,” Damn it! Celestia knows I hate that nickname! “You also need some time off of work. You need to accompany Twilight. However, you must be accompanied by a guard at all times. Lieutenant Shining Armour has offered to accompany you to this event.” Ah! So Shines is a Lieutenant right now!
The door bangs open. “Twiley! Dash! I’m here! I’ll accompany you to Ponyville.”
“What do you mean, ‘Ponyville’?” asks Twilight. Me and Shines smirk at each other. “Hey! Why am you smirking at each other?”
“My dear Twilight, I’m sending you to the Summer Sun Celebration to oversee the preparations. However, I have an even more important job for you: Make some more friends!” At this, Spike smiles. Twilight is suddenly all shy. Oh, did I mention that she’s still shy around new ponies? Well, she is.
“But I d-don’t need a-any more f-f-friends! That is, I don’t think so… I can if you want me to…” She squeaks. Oh, she’s so like Canon!Shy. Even though this may or may not be Equestria Prime… Making canon obsolete if it is.
“Actually, it’s gonna be good making new friends! I hope I meet some nice ponies here.” That was me, by the way.
The guards suddenly touch down. Twilight’s in a catatonic state, so I thank them. They fly off. Shining smirks. “Looks like today’s gonna be a pretty good day! Hey, Twiley, you should get to know some of the local ponies. Like the pink one!” Twilight approaches Pinkie Pie hesitantly, like Fluttershy would approach a sleeping dragon…
AN: Sorry to cut this off here, ponies. I just need some writers to collab on this story with me if they don’t mind. That’s why I stopped it off. Because the Pinkie from this universe is a reincarnation, like me/Dash and Rick/Shines. AND, that pony will be a self-insert of another writer from this site and will act possibly different. You can also post your pre-story lives in your own stories. That’s why I stopped it, because I need someone to take over Pinkie’s writing. Last call! Or I write it without any collabs.
