A change is coming, and yet Sunset Shimmer goes about her soul-draining routine utterly unaware, having lost touch with her friends in Equestria.

Trapped in the cycle of her mundane world, Sunset jumps at the first opportunity to travel beyond, and finds some wayward and kindred spirits.
