//-------------------------------------------------------// A Human's Adventure -by MyAwesomePony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Something Strange //-------------------------------------------------------// Something Strange It was an early morning in the town of Ponyville as everypony was just starting to get up, ready for the day ahead of them, at the castle of friendship, Twilight Sparkle wasn't any different. She yawned and stretched in her bed, swiftly getting on her hooves, her mane was frazzled as she did so. She then walked over towards the mirror and saw how messy her mane really was, trying to look presentable, she picked up her comb with her magic as her mane quickly turned back to normal. Walking out of her door, she made her way down the hallways and stood in front of the door to Spike's room, knocking on the door. "Spike, it's time to get to work." She said in a sing song voice. "The bookshelves aren't going to sort themselves." She waited for Spike's reply, but.. nothing, Twilight then knocked on the door again, but a little bit louder than before, trying to wake up the lazy dragon. "Spike!" Still no response. Frustrated, she swung the door open so hard, that it almost broke off the hinges, Twilight then walked inside with an enraged look on her face. "Come on, Spike. You can't just.." Just when Twilight was about to go on a rant at the dragon, she quickly noticed that Spike's bed was empty. Usually, Spike wouldn't be out of bed this early, so Twilight was confused by this. "Spike?" She asked, all matter of anger gone in her voice. "Spike, come out. This isn't funny." Twilight then looked frantically around the room, desperate to find her assistant. At first, she was mad at the little dragon for not getting up, but now he was possibly missing, needless to say, Twilight was panicking. She'd drawn so much noise, that her student, Starlight Glimmer walked up to the entrance of the room to figure out what all the commotion was about. "Twilight, what's wrong?" She asked in a mixture of nervousness and confusion. Twilight then ran up to the unicorn. "Starlight, have you seen Spike anywhere?" "Uh.. he did say that he was going somewhere." Starlight began, but then Twilight rushed away before she could finish. "Glad I could help." She yelled out, but Twilight didn't hear her, she was too focused in finding Spike. "Anypony seen Spike?" Twilight asked nervously. She was now racing through Ponyville as a few ponies looked at her in confusion, wondering where Twilight was going at this time of the day. She then galloped past the Carousel Boutique, unbeknownst to her, Spike was right inside of the place that she had just ran by. Inside of the Carousel Boutique, Spike was there, helping Rarity putting together a new outfit, being her model as usual. "It was so nice of you to help me with this outfit, Spikey Wikey." Rarity said, flattered by the drake's kindness. "Of course, Rarity." Spike replied as the fashionista put in the safety pins with such careful precision. "I just apologize for the.." Rarity then cleared her throat before continuing. "...early schedule." "Are you kidding me? I'm always happy to help, no matter the time. Especially for such a pony like you." Spike said, blushing slightly. "Oh, Spike." Rarity laughed. "You really are a sweet talker." "Heh, I know I am." "Now, hold still. This dress is for the fashion show in Manehattan next weekend and we simply can't have any ruffles in it." Rarity clarified. "Yeah, that would never do." Spike chuckled to himself. Meanwhile, Twilight was still looking for Spike around Ponyville, but to no avail. Now Twilight was getting worried about her faithful assistant, but just when she was about to give up on the search, a realization popped in her mind. "Maybe he just went digging with Rarity in the Everfree Forest." Twilight thought as she made her way to the spooky forest. Even though the sun was out, the Everfree Forest was still in complete darkness as the purple princess trotted through it, slowly, but surely. She hoped that this wasn't just one wild goose chase. She darted her eyes around the forest. Spike? Rarity?" Twilight called out into the dark, but there was no reply. Twilight then walked through the bushes and into a part of the forest, but then, she saw something laying in front of her, the sight causing her to gasp loudly. The creature laying down in front of her, was something that Twilight had never seen before, this creature had no hair on its body, except for a little bit on its head, it looked like it was knocked out unconscious. Strangest of all, it was wearing some sort of clothing, but not the type of clothing that she had ever seen on a pony. At least, she thought that this was a pony. "What in the name of Equestria is that thing?" She asked dumbfounded, walking up closer towards it. "I've truly never seen anything like it in any of the books I've read." Twilight then examined the creature closer, she still couldn't wrap her head around the fact that she had made a shocking discovery, she had discovered another species. "I'm going to need some help with this." In a bright flash of light, she appeared in the castle library with the strange and unusual creature. Twilight then decided to tell Starlight about her discovery, maybe she could help her study it as well. With that decision in mind, she rushed out of the library to get her student. Unaware that the creature was starting to wake up, rubbing its head in pain. "Ugh, my head... what happened?" It asked with a groan, looking around its surroundings in confusion. "Where am I?" The creature then got off the ground, but before he could explore the room, he suddenly heard the sound of hoofsteps, scared about being discovered, he jumped behind the table, covering his mouth to stop his breathing as Twilight and Starlght walked in. "And so I put the creature in here and..." Twilight was then cut short when she noticed that the creature wasn't there. "Oh no, where did it go. I left it right here." Twilight said worriedly. "Well, I'm sure it can't be far." Starlight declared. Both her and Twilight left the room, slamming the door behind them in a quick manner. The creature peeked over the table, seeing that the coast was clear. "Were those... talking ponies?" He asked in pure disbelief. "Is this all just some weird dream? I should test it." He then tried to pinch himself all over his body multiple times, but after a couple of pinches, he had come to the conclusion that this wasn't a dream, he was actually there. "Okay, so this leads to one possibility, I am in an alternate dimension, this is not the kind of day I was expecting." Meanwhile, Twilight and Starlight was searching the castle top to bottom, but there was no sign of the creature anywhere. Needless to say, Twilight was pretty distraught about this. She had just discovered a new species Equestria had never seen before, and now she lost it, possibly never to be found ever again. "Starlight, have you found it yet?" Twilight asked her pupil. "Not yet, I'm not even sure what it looks like." Starlight said honestly. "Oh, this is terrible. The creature is lost forever, and it's all my fault." Twilight groaned. "Hey now, don't blame yourself here, you didn't know that this was going to happen. I'm sure we'll find it eventually." Starlight said in a comforting tone. "I hope you're right." Twilight sighed, before they continued their search. The creature still couldn't comprehend about the situation he had found himself into. He looked around the library in amazement and wonder, interested about this new world. He then decided to look out of a nearby window with a golden frame around it, quickly running towards it and looking out. He looked out into Ponyville and was absolutely speechless at what he was seeing. "Woah, that's a lot of ponies." He said quietly to himself. Twilight and Starlight were running around the castle hallways, still looking for the creature. Then, Spike came in, he then saw that two of his friends were running around like wild animals. "What are you guys doing?" He asked, catching Twilight's attention. "Spike?!" She exclaimed, stopping in her tracks to look at the little dragon. But she stopped too quickly that Starlight rammed right into her, causing both of them to slide on the floor and crash into the wall, feeling dizzy. Twilight quickly got off of Starlight, making her fall off the purple Alicorn's body. Twilight then ran up to Spike. "Where have you been?" She asked. "I've been at Rarity's helping her with an outfit." The dragon then pulled out a shiny ruby in his claws. "She even gave me a complimentary snack." He then shoved it in his mouth, swallowing it and licking his lips. "Anyways, care to help us out?" Twilight asked the dragon as Starlight got up. "Uh, with what?" "Long story short. Twilight had discovered some other species and now we can't find it." Starlight explained. "Well, what does it look like?" Spike questioned. "It.." Twilight paused for a moment. "Actually, I don't know how to describe it." "Woah, that's helpful." Spike said sarcastically. Twilight sighed in disappointment, thinking she had lost the creature. "I guess we've lost it." But neither Twilight nor Starlight noticed the creature walking right behind them, he had snuck outside the library and was now exploring the castle, when he saw the two unicorns, he quietly tiptoed by, hoping nobody would see him. But Spike did. "Uh, Twilight. I think I found him." He shuddered, pointing at him. Twilight and Starlight glanced behind them, seeing the creature as plain as day, they had finally found him. Without having any more options, he quickly ran away as fast as he could, Twilight wasn't about to let the creature out of her sight again, "Come on, we gotta catch it." Twilight declared. So with that, her, Starlight and Spike started to chase after him, he looks back and saw that he was being chased, so he tried to run faster. He looked around for something to slow his chasers down, and saw a nearby banner. Desperate to stop them, he pulled down the banner, spreading it on the floor, before running off again. Everyone tried to stop, but it was too late, they all slide on the banner and crash into the wall again. Twilight then sees the creature running around the corner. "He's getting away!" She exclaimed before giving chase to him once again. The creature looks back and sees that they were getting closer, worse of all, when he looked back around, he saw that he was approaching a dead end as he hit the wall. Twilight, Starlight and Spike walked up towards him, causing him to flinch back. "Please don't hurt me." He pleaded. "Hurt you?" Twilight said in a confused tone. "We're not going to hurt you." "You're not?" The creature asked. "Of course not, we just want to ask you a few questions." Twilight informed him. "Oh okay, well, ask away." "First of all." Twilight began. "How did you get here?" She then gave Spike a quill and paper, signaling him to take notes, much to the little dragon's annoyance. "Well, I.." The creature then paused as his face goes blank. "Actually, I have no idea how I got here. Last thing I remember is waking up in a forest, but I was too tired to carry on. "Oh, very interesting." Twilight said, nodding her head. "What were you doing before you got here?" Starlight asked. The creature then pondered to himself for a brief moment, before replying to Starlight's question. "Oh yeah, I was walking home from school one day, then I crossed the road, and suddenly I saw a car approaching me at full speed, then, everything goes black." "Wait, what's a car?" Spike asked, putting a claw up to his chin in confusion. "Well, to put it simply, it's like a vehicle which we use for transportation." He explained. "Oh, I see. So it's like a cart?" Twilight wondered. "You could say that, I guess." "Wow, this is all really interesting." Remarked Twilight. "Now, one last question, what are your species called?" "I am, what you would call, a human. Think of them as hairless monkeys." He said, but then saw that Twilight, Starlight and Spike all had looks of shock on their faces, the human was confused by this. "Um.. hello?" "Did.. did you just say that you were a human?" Twilight stuttered. "Uh.. yes?" The human said confusingly, freaked out by their change in behavior. "I... I thought those things were just a myth." Spike whispered. "Wait, so that means. I'm basically the only ever human in this world." The human said in shock. "This is truly amazing." Starlight remarked. "I never thought I'd see the day where I saw a real life human being." "Me neither." Agreed Spike. "We need to tell the princess about this." Starlight thought. "Good point, Starlight." Twilight replied. "But maybe we should tell the others before we do that." She then turned to look at the human. "Anyways, what's your name?" "Oh yeah, my name is Lukas Hart, but you can call me Lukas for short." "Well, it is certainly nice to meet you Lukas. I am Twilight Sparkle, and this is Starlight and Spike." Twilight said. "Nice to meet you all, too." Lukas replied, before saying.. "Wow, this is defiantly the craziest day ever." Lukas said with a smile. Sometime later, the other girls, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity were on their way to the Castle of Friendship, being urgently summoned by Twilight. "What in the name of all things cinnamon swirl could be going on this time?" Applejack wondered. "I don't know, but I had to drop a new outfit I was working on." Rarity whined. "I had to leave in the middle of my latest baking creation, I hope Gummy can handle it." Pinkie worried. "Maybe a villain is back for revenge?" Rainbow Dash hypothesized. "Oh goodness, I hope not. That's starting to become a common thing these days." Fluttershy said nervously. "Well, whatever it is, we gotta hurry ya'll." Applejack called out. "AJ's right, come on." Rainbow declared, before zooming off, the others quickly following behind. Back at the castle, Spike and Lukas were talking to each other while Twilight and Starlight waited for the others to arrive. "Wait, so what you're saying is that you guys have vehicles that make you fly?" Spike asked in disbelief. "Yep." Came his short reply. "Wow, you guys have a lot of cool stuff." Spike said. Suddenly, the others burst through the doors to the castle, causing the conversation between the human and the dragon to get interrupted. All of the ponies looked tired out from their running, looking like they had just finished a full marathon. "Girls, thank you for coming. I have big news to tell you." Twilight said, walking towards them. "What's going on, Twi? You know how-" Rainbow Dash started, but cut short as soon as she noticed Lukas next to Spike. "AAH! Get away from Spike!" Rainbow then flew straight towards Lukas, but just when she was about to tackle him, Starlight got in her way, causing the speedy Pegasus to stop at the last second. "Rainbow, it's okay. This creature isn't any harm." Starlight informed the Pegasus. "Oh, is that so?" Rainbow asked in a pompous tone, Lukas nodded in response. "Well, in that case, sorry about the aggressive behavior." She said, before flying back to the group. "Is.. is that what I think it is?" Asked Applejack. "Why yes, Applejack." Twilight said. "This, right here, is Lukas, the human." Everyone gasped as Twilight said that, they couldn't believe that their friend had actually discovered a species that they thought was an old pony tale. "Wow, he looks kind of like a hairless monkey." Pinkie pointed out. "Actually." Spike began. "Lukas here did evolve from monkeys." "Well land sakes, Ah never thought I'd see a human in my whole life." Applejack gawked. "Lukas." Twilight said to the human. "I'd like you to meet my friends." "Hi, Lukas. I'm Pinkie Pie, feel free to come by Sugarcube Corner anytime you like." "Hello there, darling, my name is Rarity, proud owner of the Carousal Boutique." "I'm Applejack, pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lukas." "Um.. hey there, I'm Fluttershy." "Sup Lukas? The name is Rainbow Dash, member of the Wonderbolts and the fastest flyer in all of Equestria. "Now, Rainbow Dash, no need to impress him." Applejack said jokingly. "Well, you know it's true." Rainbow remarked, the orange mare rolled her eyes in response. "Anyways, I need your girls' help with something." Twilight began. "It's going to take a while for Lukas to get used to living in Equestria, which is why I need all of you to make him feel welcomed. Can I count on you to help me?" Everyone agreed at the idea as they nodded their heads. "Thank you girls, I don't know where I'd be without you." "Well, I don't know where I'd be without cupcakes." Pinkie said, before shoving a tray of cupcakes in her mouth. Everyone in the room laughed at the pink pony as she still had cupcake frosting all over her mouth. "But, we should go tell the princess now." Twilight thought, turning to her faithful dragon assistant. "Spike, take a note." "I got ya." Spike said, pulling out a quill and paper as he wrote the following: Dearest Princess Celestia I have discovered a human being in the Everfree Forest and now we need you to come over to Ponyville urgently, that is if you're not busy. Look forward to seeing you. Yours faithfully, Twilight Sparkle After Spike finished the letter, he rolled it up, taking a big breath and blew a green flame on the parchment as it turned into a purple mist, going out a nearby window. "Now, let's get the rest of Ponyville accustomed to Lukas as well." Twilight thought. The ponies of Ponyville were out and about, taking in the fresh air. Ponies were setting up food stands, shopping, and some were relaxing on the benches as the sun shone on their bodies. Then, they see Twilight and her friends walking through the town with Lukas, they had never seen anything like him in their lives. Needless to say, they were interested as they gathered around the group. "Everyone, this is Lukas, he is the only human in Equestria, please make him feel welcome." Twilight announced as everyone cheered, making sure to do just that. Then, the princess of Equestria herself, Celestia, was coming down on a golden chariot as everypony bowed down to make the princess feel comfortable as she got off her chariot. "Twilight, I came as soon as I got your letter." She said, the chariot quickly flew away into the air. "Well, the human is right there, princess. His name is Lukas." Twilight declared as Celestia examined it closely. "I've got to say, this is truly an amazing discovery, I am very proud of you Twilight." "Thank you, princess. So, I'm assuming you want me to send him back home." Twilight asked her teacher. Princess Celestia glanced at the human, who shyly waved at her. She was about to say yes, but then she heard Lukas say.. "Please, princess, please don't send me back. I actually like it here, everyone is really nice and friendly, nothing like my old, abusive home." The princess couldn't help but feel sorry for him. "Actually, Twilight. This could be the perfect opportunity for this human to learn about friendship." She said to her prized pupil. Lukas gasped at this. "So, what you're saying is.." "That's right, Lukas. You are now the newest citizen of Ponyville." Celestia announced. "Welcome to Equestria." Lukas then smiled from ear to ear as everyone cheered once again. He looked around at all of the new friends he had made, and although it may take a while for him to get used to living with talking ponies, he thought that it would be a fun adventure for him, and he couldn't be any more happier.
