Twilight's First "Friend"

Three days had passed since Twilight and her friends had defeated Nightmare Moon and the lavender unicorn was still adjusting to life in Ponyville. She had lived up in Canterlot her whole life so living in a small village among ponies with a different mindset was different for her. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing given the snobbish attitudes of some of the Canterlot residents but one little thing did bother her, not having Princess Celestia there if she needed her.

On what was a peaceful morning Twilight woke up and looked out the window. What shocked her was that she saw Fluttershy put a letter in her mailbox. She wasn't exactly sure why but she was going to find out. Normally going and getting mail would be Spike's duty but given this was delivered by Fluttershy and he was still peacefully slumbering, she figured that she would go and see what was up.

She got dressed in a rather modest outfit given what time of day it was. She got into an oversized shirt and a pair of sweats before heading out. When she got out to the mailbox she discovered an envelope with her name on it. She looked at it and it read, "For Twilight."

One thing she couldn't help but notice right away was that the letters i in Twilight had a heart above them. She thought to herself, "Huh, I wonder what that is about?"

She then opened the envelope to find a letter that read,

"Twilight,

Hi, it's me Fluttershy. I am hoping that you are adjusting to Ponyville and our way of life. I was wondering if you could come over to my cottage the moment you get this letter. I do ask that you come alone though because I don't think Spike should be here for what I want us to discuss. See you soon!"

Twilight was shocked by the contents of the letter. The one thing she couldn't help but wonder was why Fluttershy seemed so adamant that she come alone, well that and how she signed it.
