Morning Already?

Twas a normal day in upstate New York; cold and damp. I went about my usual morning routine: shower, comb my hair, eat breakfast; just a normal day I thought.

“Jade! Where are my keys!” my mother, Kristine, shouted from downstairs

I immediately sprung for the keys that I had laid on my end table the previous night.

“Coming mom!” I hollered down the brown carpeted stairs half haphazardly, nearly tripping halfway down.

I had immediately came around the corner of the stairs and ran towards the kitchen running avoiding the catastrophe that I would be scolded for trying to clean. “Organized chaos” she says. I have lived in this same house for nearly 17 years and I can't seem to recall the color of the carpet. The wood? I don't remember anymore. I went back upstairs to my room, the only room(excluding my bathroom) that was upstairs and launched my face directly into my large stock pile of pillows. I honestly don't know why I even get up in the morning. That's when It hit me.

I immediately pulled my laptop away from my end table and set it on my bed, being sure to leave space for it to cool; It overheats on a regular basis. I had left Google Chrome open the previous night, checking all of the best websites before bed: Facebook, Equestria Daily, MyLittleBrony. The usual. I had skipped passed that, disregarding the 14 Facebook notifications that were asking, no, begging to be checked and opened up my media player. I went and I opened the first episode I saw: Dragonshy. One of my personal favorite episodes. I have seen it about 6 times already but I couldn't seem to get enough of the shy, pink and yellow pegasus, Flutterhsy. Then again, who couldn't? This is the one thing in life that I stayed for. If not for My Little Pony, and especially Fluttershy I wouldn't be here today. I jumped and immediately paused the episode when I heard yelling. Being all the way up-stairs, It was somewhat hard to hear over the tiny net book speakers.

“Jade!” Kristine shouted “I'm going out, I'll be back soon. Your dad's keys are on the counter.”

I honestly had no idea why she still called him my father. He left me and my mother a few months back in a drunken rage. He had come and picked up some essentials but left the piece of crap car, which I received as an early birthday present from my mom. I decided I needed to get out of the house. Being that I have no friends, I didn't exactly have many choices.

I looked in the mirror to try and make myself look presentable, where ever I was going I wanted to look decent. I looked into the still misty mirror and wiped away an area to see my face. I had a Shane Dawson-eske hair style but it was blonde and blue. It was all blue at one point but it faded. I moved down to my white/pink, freckly face. I could never tan, just more freckles and sunburns. My eyebrows were still a dirty blonde and my eyes a piercing blue. I looked farther down, wiping more steam from the mirror. I was a little overweight but also a pretty strong guy. Though, I managed to look much better with my choice of clothes. Though I was always sweaty, I always looked good. After deciding I looked presentable, I grabbed my favorite CD and head for the car.
