The life of Nightrider is not the happiest, most interesting life in Equestria. There is no friendship, love or harmony in her tale, just pain, suffering and a constant fight for survival. She is an outcast from all that we know and love. To cope, Nightrider fights evil and tries to rid as much of it around her as possible.

But this time, the evil around her is more than just a couple of bozos robbing a jewelry store, or holding up an old mare for her pearl necklace, this time its something more... much more!

Ponies around her are getting sick, losing their magic and harmony, and that's only the beginning. It only gets stranger from here as there are rumours of viscous attacks and the sight of the most unnatural horrors pony kind has ever seen.

Nightrider doesn't want to interfere, but she knows she must, as if it's somehow her destiny, and as things around her get stranger and stranger, she knows she must act.

Nightrider sets off on an adventure that will take her away from what she calls home for the first time. Along the way she sees what makes Equestria the land of harmony, and the horrors that seek to destroy it. Most of all, in her quest to uncover the truth of what's happening to her world, she uncovers a truth within herself and for the first time in her life, she learns friendship.

And when ponies begin dropping dead in the streets around her, and the Princess of Friendship herself falls, Nightrider must rely on her newfound friends, and confront her demons for the sake of Equestria.
