A three headed family
8: Little one(s) meet little ones
Previous ChapterAuthor's Note
Hi!
So... at least it didn't took two years to have an update? That's something, right?
Sorry for not writting anything sooner. I'm quite busy and am also working on other fictions on other websites, so this story went under my radar for a while.
You may have noticed the status was changed to hiatus. That's because I know I can't update frequently, and can't give a date for the next update. I like the story, but don't think about it enough to promise anything.
Again, sorry for the long, long delay, and enjoy!
8: Little one(s) meet little ones
A couple of days passed with nothing much happening, only the daily routine of living in Ponyville.
For the little family that was Fluttershy and Unified, and Angel Bunny, if he could be called so, this means that they spent the day in a somewhat organized schedule. Fluttershy was the first to wake up and she always started feeding all her animals, as it could take quite a long time to be done with it. At some point during this task, Unified would wake up and Fluttershy would make herself a nice little breakfast and give a few gems to Unified so that they could eat together.
Once their breakfast over, Fluttershy would resume her agenda and take care of her many creatures, helping a few of them with their problems like grooming some of them, listen to their words or heal any wounded one, let it be an animal or a pony, even if that last one was thankfully rarer. Meanwhile, Unified was free to either follow Fluttershy, which he did a little bit both out of curiosity for her work and because they simply wanted to be with her, or they could stay under the supervision of Brightwing, the little sparrow, to talk, play some games and even go outside as long as they remained close to the house.
Angel could watch over them, but his relationship with Skaly wasn't the best as the little bunny was still quite wary of the little dragon, so they kept their interactions at a certain minimum, as long as Fluttershy wasn't involved.
The rest of the day would remain quite the same, with a time dedicated in the afternoon for Unified and Fluttershy to be together, with the mare improvising herself as teacher and teaching a few things about Equestria to the little dragon. She quickly noticed that Unified often had the knowledge of many things, most of the time being right about it, yet he could be wrong on the simplest ones. Like saying that the sun couldn't be moved by anyone and that it was doing it on its own. Fluttershy found the idea quite ridiculous, but didn't voice it as Unified was only a baby who didn't know how the world worked, simply correcting Unified and assuring him that it was Princess Celestia that moved the sun everyday and that the moon was moved by her sister Princess Luna.
And today had been pretty much the same until lunchtime, where Fluttershy ate a little salad and a gem was given to each of Unified's heads.
"That looks like grass." Commented Skaly just as he finished his gem, looking at Fluttershy's salad with a slightly unpleasant expression.
"Well, there are a couple of vegetables, mainly lettuce and tomatoes, but no grass. I do have a hay cake for dessert though." Kindly replied Fluttershy.
Her response was met with a gag sound from all three heads.
"It tastes great, I'm sure you will like it." Assured the yellow pegasus.
"You won't force us to taste it?" Asked Rex scared.
"Of course not." Reassured Fluttershy quickly, before continuing a little bit meekly. "But, I would really like it if you could at least try it."
All three heads looked at each other, sharing a silent agreement even if not a word or a thought was exchanged, and turned back to Fluttershy.
"Okay." They all agreed.
They could at least try it. For their mother.
"Great!" Exclaimed Fluttershy as she stood up, picked up the cake that had been waiting on the windowsill, still slightly warm.
"Could I have some too?" Asked Angel as he jumped on the table, not without giving a small, wary glance at Unified, which went unnoticed by Fluttershy.
"Of course Angel." Smiled Fluttershy, very happy to see her cooking be appreciated.
The cake was placed on the table and all three heads of Unified looked up at what seemed to be a completely normal cake. The only difference that they had was the smell, which was different from the kind of cake they remembered, even if they were quite certain that they only tested once cake before, which was the cake Pinkie Pie gave them when they first saw her.
Bringing a knife to cut the cake, Fluttershy swiftly made a few parts, making sure to keep them small both for Unified and Angel, and then she promptly brought the knife back to the kitchen. She didn't voice it, but she was still remembering too well the horrifying accident that took out Rex's head, and she would do anything to make sure it never happened again.
Rex, Sage and Skaly gave their slices of cake a careful examination, looking for anything that they wouldn't like, but they had to concede that it was a boringly simple cake. Made with hay.
The simple thought was enough to make them cringe in disgust. Not even questioning how, they knew they never ate hay before and that they shouldn't be eating hay at all.
Angel was looking from the side with a gleeful smile, quite aware of Unified's distaste at the simple concept of eating Fluttershy's cake. It was like he was expecting them to dislike it, to ruin their mother's mood, and then would berate them for it.
They looked at Fluttershy, who was watching them with anticipation, anxiously waiting for them to try her cake, keeping her forelegs close to herself.
For her though? They would try.
Taking one deep breath, all three heads dipped forward and took a bite out of their slices.
They chew.
They chew some more.
Fluttershy held her breath, a little squeak almost leaving her mouth as she stressfully watched her sons taste her cake, fearing the worst.
Finally, Sage was the first one to finish, and he instantly made his opinion about this hay cake clear.
"It's not bad." He said.
The sigh of relief that Fluttershy let out was one the biggest she ever had, but she had to hear what Skaly and Rex had to say about it.
"Yeah, it's better than I expected." Skaly said, quite to both Angel and Fluttershy's surprise, since he was the most likely to dislike it in their opinion.
"..." Rex didn't say a word.
"Rex?" Asked Fluttershy, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I don't think I like it." He said, lowering his eyes as if expecting to be scolded.
She had a little tinge of disappointment, but quickly reassured herself that it was perfectly fine. Not only did both Sage and Skaly liked her cake, but she knew very well that not everypony liked everything. Tastes and colors were different for everybody after all, even if it was a bit more surprising to see that in Unified since they all shared a single stomach.
Shaking her head to focus on the little head that could only be described as ashamed, she brought a hoof to lift his chin and make him look at her.
"It's alright Rex, you have the right to not like it. Plus, I'm already proud that you at least tasted it." She comforted him.
"Thanks mom." He replied with a wide smile, his worries quickly forgotten.
With that said, Sage and Skaly were about to go finish their slices that a series of knocks on the door echoed through the house, bringing everyone's attention toward it. Skaly's reaction was to frown, wary of a potential danger coming through, but the two other heads were standing at attention too, out of curiosity instead.
"Oh, I wonder who that could be." Said Fluttershy, mostly to herself, as she walked up to the door.
Unified's heads looked around her, trying to get the better look, as she opened the door.
"GOOD MORNING FLUTTERSHY!" Came an incredibly loud shout, taking the dragon by surprise, and sending the yellow pegasus in the air.
"We're under attack!" Shouted Skaly in response.
"What's happening?!" Frantically asked Rex.
"I think they said good morning to Fluttershy?" Suggested Sage, more reasonable and collected than the rest.
Listening to his words, Skaly and Rex looked at the door, where three little fillies were standing, with huge grins on their faces. Fluttershy came down at that moment, a hoof to her chest, and she gave the fillies a small, stern look.
"Fillies, please don't shout like this. You scared me." She scolded them.
"Sorry Fluttershy." Said the first one, a yellow coated filly with a red mane and a pink ribbon on top of it.
"We came to see Unified." Added the second, a unicorn with a white coat, and a mix of light purple and pink for a mane.
"Yeah. A three headed dragon, how cool is that?!" Cheered the third, a pegasus who had brown fur, and purple hairs as a mane.
"I understand, but I'm sure he was scared too." Continued Fluttershy, looking at Unified.
"N-no!" Protested Skaly.
"I was." Easily confessed Rex.
"Not me." Finished Sage.
"Whoa!" All three fillies said at the same time, walking up next to him.
"Can you breathe fire?" Asked the earth pony.
"Well, duh. Didn't you hear what Rainbow Dash said about Twilight's book?" Rolled her eyes the pegasus.
"Oh, right."
"Who are you?" Bluntly asked Skaly.
"Oh! I'm Applebloom, and you've already met my big sister, Applejack." Cheered the earth pony.
"And I'm Scootaloo! Rainbow is like my teacher, my best friend, and like a sister at the same time." Continued the pegasus.
"And I'm Sweetie Belle, Rarity's little sister." Waved the unicorn.
"Ooh! More friends! Hi, Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle! I'm Sage." Excitedly said Sage.
"And I'm Rex! Are you here to play?" Asked the left head.
"I'm Skaly. Why are you so loud?" Skay asked, still frowning at them.
"Skaly, be nice, please." Reminded him Fluttershy.
"I- yes, mom." He conceded.
"And, fillies, let me introduce you to Unified. Now, I know you have many questions, and that you'll want to play some games. But, I want you to stay in the house, alright? I have to feed the chickens, so I'm counting on you to keep an eye on him." She smiled at the fillies, though her tone made it clear that she was very serious about all this.
"Yes, Fluttershy." All three fillies replied.
"Good!" Cheered Fluttershy, certain that the fillies took her words to heart. "Now, play nice while I take care of the chickens, alright."
"Yes, Fluttershy." Repeated the fillies.
"Yes, mom!" Agreed Unified.
The yellow pegasus gave them one last smile, before stepping outside. As soon as the door was closed, the three fillies rushed at Unified, taking him by surprise. He was truly impressed that they could move that quickly.
"Can ya breathe fire?" Instantly asked Apple Bloom.
"Fluttershy said no." Replied Skaly.
"Not if we're not under an adult's supervision." Added Rex.
"Can you fly?" Asked Scootaloo.
"No, our wings are too small." Sage said, a bit disappointed. He really wanted to fly already.
“Can you send messages like Spike?” Asked Sweetie Belle.
“No. We tried, and it burned Twilight’s book. We were told not to try again.” Admitted Sage.
“Cool!” All three fillies replied, with massive grins on their faces.
“Really?” Asked Rex, more than happy to have more friends to play with.
“Well, duh! You’re a dragon with three heads! That’s so cool!” Cheered Scootaloo.
“Do you know games?” Asked Rex.
“Oh, we have many games! Like, pull the rope, shoot the barrel, find the most colorful thing…” Started to count Scootaloo.
“Yeah, but that ain’t nothing. We spend our time crusading for our cutie marks.” Stopped her Apple Bloom.
"Cutie marks? Like what mom has on her flanks?" Asked Rex.
"Yeah! It's hard, and we've already done a lot of things to try finding them out, but we still have nothing." Lamented Sweetie Belle, looking at her own blank flank.
"Why would you look for it? I thought it appeared on its own?" Said Sage.
"Does it hide?" Asked Rex, confused.
"No, but without it, we'll never know what we're meant to do." Added Scootaloo.
"What about us?" Asked Skaly, quite seriously.
"What do you mean?" Asked Apple Bloom.
"Well, dragons don't get cutie marks, right?" He asked.
"Yeah. I think." Confirmed Scootaloo, though she appeared a bit unsure.
"Does this mean we'll never know what we are meant to do?" He continued.
"I mean..." Trailed off Sweetie Belle, twisting her hoof on the ground as she tried avoiding looking at Unified.
"Well ah..." Apple Bloom didn't fare any better.
"I don't know." Said Scootaloo.
At that, Unified was rather divided on what to think. Skaly didn't think this was much of an issue. If they didn't have a cutie mark, this meant that they could do whatever they wanted.
Sage was somewhat of the same mind, thinking it wasn't a big loss, but also disappointed that he wouldn't get that thing that everypony around him would have.
Lastly, Rex was truly, very sad about not getting it. How would they know what to do without the precious cutie marks? Would they share three cutie marks? Or just one, since Sage was in charge of their body? Or would they never get one?
The three fillies were a bit taken aback when Rex started bawling loudly, large tears rolling down his cheeks.
“Oh for the love of- of what?” Started to get angry Skaly, only to stop as he realized he was about to say something he didn’t know.
“Come on Rex, it’s not that bad.” Sage nuzzled Rex, trying to comfort him.
“We’ll never get cutie marks!” Cried Rex.
“Huh…” Scootaloo looked awkwardly at Rex, not liking that she was feeling sappy to see him cry.
“Never get a cutie mark.” Repeated Apple Bloom to herself. They thought about this a few times, and were always comforted by their sisters. But where they were certain that they would get one someday, Unified didn’t have this certitude.
“Oh, don’t cry. It’s gonna be alright.” Sweetie Belle walked closer, using a hoof to gently pull Rex’s head up.
“B-but what if we don’t have cutie marks?” Asked Rex, still crying.
“It’s not even a problem! Spike doesn't have one and he is way older than us. He wasn’t even worried about it.” Skaly said, really not having the patience to deal with Rex’s cries.
“Yeah. Don’t worry, even if we don’t get one, we can still do many other things. Like cooking. It would be easy to cook since we can breathe fire.” Sage tried to cheer Rex up.
“I don’t like cooking.” Skaly warned.
“I never said we were going to try." Growled Sage, really not wanting to fight with Skaly right now.
"S-so it won't b-be a problem?" Asked Rex, sobbing.
"Never. It will be fine, we'll just have to find something we like." Assured Sage.
"Yeah! I'm sure there are lots of things you can do and like without cutie marks!" Cheered Scootaloo.
"Ah like to help ma brother and sister pick up apples, but Ah don't have a cutie mark for that." Added Apple Bloom.
"Really?" Asked Rex again, his tears slowing down.
"Of course." Sweetie Belle strongly affirmed.
"O-okay." Nodded Rex.
"Good! So, do you want to find things you would like? Maybe we could get a cutie mark for helping you find what you like." Suggested Scootaloo.
"Isn't that the whole point of a cutie mark?" Asked Sage.
"Well, yeah, but for us helping you. Which isn't the same."
"I want to know what I like." Said Sage, very interested.
"I know what I don't like, and I feel like I'll know way more before tonight." Grumbled Skaly.
"Don't be a party pooper, it's going to be fun!" Scootaloo pumped her hoof in the air.
"I'm not a party pooper!" Skaly angrily shouted back.
"Unified, is everything alright?" Chirped Brightwing, landing next to the baby dragon.
"She called me a party pooper!" Growled Skaly.
"Well, that's certainly not very nice, but I heard what she said before. You're the only one who said what you didn't like instead of listening to these fillies' advice. Would it be so bad to go find out what you'd like to do?" She advised him patiently.
"No." Admitted Skaly, lowering his head in defeat. He would have to endure his brothers antics, and that's it.
"Huh... who are you talking to?" Asked Sweetie Belle.
"Can ya talk with animals? Like Fluttershy?" Apple Bloom asked, her eyes widening as her smile grew.
"Yeah. Apparently, it's not normal." Replied Sage.
"That's awesome! Fluttershy can do it because of her cutie mark, but why can you?" Asked Scootaloo.
"Don't know." Shrugged Sage.
"But, does it matter if we find something that I like? Sage is the one controlling our body, so if he wants, he could just ignore me." Skaly asked Brightwing a bit shyly, which was unusual for him, quite worried about this.
"I'd never do that!" Sage fiercely replied, offended that his brother could say something like that.
"Now, now. Sage, let me deal with Skaly first, alright?" Moderated Brightwing before things could escalate. "Skaly, I understand how frightening it must be for you to fear being ignored. To know that he could simply choose to never let you do anything you want. But, Sage is your brother, and as he just said, that's not something he should do."
"Yeah." Nodded Sage.
"And now, Sage, I want you to promise me, Skaly and Rex, that you won't stop them from doing what they like. If you all find different things that you like, you must allow your brothers to enjoy themselves too." Brightwing sternly warned the middle head, having an idea of how troublesome it could be in the future if the three brothers couldn't even bear each other's presence.
"I promise." Instantly swore Sage. He would never take his brothers’ freedom away. He was already quite aware of how lucky he was to be the one in charge of their body, he owed his brothers at least that much.
"Good."
"That's sooo annoying! We can't even understand what you're talking about." Scootaloo complained.
"Brightwing just made me swear to never take my brothers’ freedom away." Replied Sage.
"Huh? Then why didn't you do a Pinkie Promise?"
"What's that?" Asked Rex, very interested in learning something new.
"Thats a promise that you can never, ever break. Pinkie Pie will know if you do." Sweetie Belle warned them very seriously.
"Can I do it?" Asked Sage.
"Okay, so, you have to do exactly like me, alright?" Pointed out Scootaloo.
"I'm ready!"
"You just have to say your promise and then you finish with: 'Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!'" Explained Scootaloo, mimicking the motions at the same time.
Sage stop briefly at that, and looked at his very sharp claws. He didn't want to put one in his eyes.
"Hum..." He said a bit unsure about this.
"You can do it with your eye closed." Advised Sweetie Belle.
"Oh, okay! I promise to never abuse my power over my brothers. Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!"
A pink blur suddenly came out from beneath the couch, and an instant later, Pinkie Pie was standing right there, grinning wildly at the little dragon.
"Congratulations on your very first Pinkie Promise! And remember, Pinkie Promises are FOREVER!" She congratulated him quickly and quite loudly, right before jumping beneath the couch and disappearing again.
Unified stood completely still, trying to understand what just happened. All three heads looked around a little until Sage got them on the ground and they looked beneath the couch, only to find a rather clean floor.
"How? Was she here the whole time?" Asked Sage, still looking at where the pink pony could be hiding.
"If that's a prank it's not funny." Frowned Skaly.
"Wow! She's good!" Smiled Rex, very impressed.
"That's just Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie. She does that all the time." Shrugged Scootaloo.
"Yeah, don't worry about it." Added Apple Bloom, nodding quickly. "Now, can we go play games?"
"Hey! We still don't know what we like to do." Complained Rex.
"Oh, right. What about... taking care of animals?" Suggested Sweetie Belle.
"Mom says she doesn't want us to play with animals without her supervision." Sage replied.
"Hmm... have you tried building things?" Suggested Scootaloo.
"No, but mom doesn't want us to use tools without her supervision." He said again.
"Alright, what about picking up apples?" Asked Apple Bloom.
"Mom said that-" Started Sage again.
"That you must be under her supervision?" Scootaloo rolled her eyes, knowing what was coming.
"Yes." Nodded Sage.
"Is there anything that she ain't forbiding you to do?" Asked Apple Bloom.
"Hmm... She says that we can read if we want." Sage replied.
"But we don't know how." Lamented Rex.
"Well that's something that miss Cheerilee can teach you. Anything else?" Asked Scootaloo, really not wanting to spend time reading when they could do something really useful.
"We have a few games that we play with the animals, like pull on the rope." Skaly said, being quite fond of that game of strength.
"That's hard. Are you sure there's nothing that you want to do?" Asked Apple Bloom, starting to get bored.
"Well, I want to go outside." Said Sage.
"Me too." Added Skaly.
"Me three." Said Rex.
"But mom said that we must stay inside." Finished Sage, a bit sad.
"Maybe we can convince her then? Come on girls, let's go!" Cheered Scootaloo, already running toward the door.
Unified was left alone as the fillies were far too fast for him. The three heads looked at each other, a bit surprised at being left alone. But they were also hoping that the fillies would succeed in their mission.
"Do you think she will say yes?" Asked Sage.
"She said no when we asked, why would she say yes to them?" Continued Rex.
"Maybe she trusts them more than us." Growled Skaly.
"Come on, that's ridiculous." Scoffed Sage.
"She knew them before knowing us, meaning that she can, in fact, trust them more." Persisted the right head.
"But we're a baby. You wouldn't trust a baby to know what to do, right?" Asked Sage.
"Well, no. But we're smarter than a normal baby." Skaly countered.
"Are we? We haven't met baby ponies yet." Argued Sage.
"Hmm. You're right." Admitted Skaly, trying to find other ways to support his claim.
He didn't got the time as the three fillies rushed back in, pulling and pushing with them Fluttershy who seemed a bit confused and distressed at the same time.
"Girls!" She called them.
"Here we go! Fluttershy, can we go outside with Unified?" Asked Sweetie Belle.
"I- well, It's just that-" Fumbled a little the meek pegasus.
"Come one, we'll make sure he's safe." Added Apple Bloom.
Contrary to what they expected, those words had the opposite effect on the kind mare, who frowned slightly before steeling herself.
"I'm sorry girls, but no. I don't want Unified to be outside without my supervision." She denied them.
"What? Why?" Asked Apple Bloom, even as Rex started to have tears in his eyes.
The little dragon was watching in silence, and the ponies weren't exactly paying attention to him, but two of the three heads were quite upset with their mother's words.
"Because it's not safe for them." Replied Fluttershy sternly.
"Even if we stay right next to your cottage?" Asked Sweetie Belle, hoping that would be enough.
"I'm sorry girls, but no means no." Fluttershy shook her head. She couldn't let her precious baby get hurt again.
"Aww." The three fillies said at the same time, lowering their head in defeat and disappointment.
All the ponies in the room suddenly jumped in fright as both Rex and Skaly started crying loudly. And as much as it annoyed Skaly, he too wanted to go outside. Even if he didn't approve of his brothers’ babyish way of displaying their frustration.
"Oh! Oh, no, no. Please don't cry." Instantly said Fluttershy, walking up to them and picking the dragon up in her forelegs.
"You don't want us to go outside!" Cried Rex even as he put his head in the fluff of her chest.
"I'm so, so sorry, but its for your own good. I just don't want you to get hurt again." Fluttershy tried to reassure them, crying a little as well.
"Mom." Called Skaly. "I get it, you're worried about us and what happened with that knife. I noticed how jumpy you are every time you need to use one."
"Well, yes. Could you imagine how much worse it would be outside? There are sharp rocks, pointy sticks, and plenty of animals that could hurt you. Even by mistake. It's very dangerous." Continued Fluttershy, surprised that Skaly picked up on her fear of knives.
"And so is your home! I mean, a book could fall on us, we can run into a wall or whatever. Nothing's ever safe." He complained.
With that said, Fluttershy started looking around the living room. And now that Skaly pointed it, she could see many, many dangerous things. Sharp corners of furniture, objects that could fall and many others. She was about to panic that Skaly continued.
"But it doesn't mean that we'll get hurt. We are young, and my brothers aren't that careful, so we will have accidents."
"Yeah! I mean, you live here Fluttershy and you don't get hurt all the time, right?" Asked Scootaloo.
"Well, I mean, yes." Admitted Fluttershy, calming down a little.
"It's the same for everypony. There could be dangers everywhere, but it doesn't mean it will hurt us. Ah could have an apple fall on my head in the orchard, but it doesn't mean it happens often. And it almost never hurts much." Added Apple Bloom.
"Can we please go outside?" Cried Rex, slightly calmer than before.
"Please, mom." Sage added, sniffing loudly.
"I- well, perhaps under my supervision." Conceded Fluttershy, still cradling the baby dragon.
"What about when you're not here? Could we go outside with Unified?" Asked Sweetie Belle.
"No. I'm sorry girls, but even if Unified and you are careful, he is still a baby. I won't leave him outside without adult supervision." Fluttershy still refused, not ready to bulge on that point.
“Aw, alright. Ah guess that’s good enough already.” Acknowledged Apple Bloom.
“Can we go outside?” Asked Rex again, starting to dry his tears.
“I suppose my chickens can wait a little. I’ve already replenished their grain and water.” Conceded Fluttershy, smiling at the little dragon.
“Yes! Come on, let’s go!” Cheered Scootaloo, rushing outside.
“Yeah!” Added Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom, right on the orange pegasus’ heels.
“Come on mom!” Sage encouraged her, moving around and trying to get out of her grip.
“Yeah!” Rex cheered as well.
“Calm down, I’m going.” Told them Fluttershy, going toward the door.
They arrived outside, not that it was their first time, and saw the three fillies excitedly waiting for them on the grass. Fluttershy lowered them to the ground, and they all had a little surprise at the sensation of feeling grass and dirt beneath their claws. They kneaded the ground with a huge grin on their face, right before staring at the fillies.
“I’m gonna get you!” Joyously said Sage, running toward the fillies.
“Yeah!” Skaly loudly shouted, more than ready to chase the three fillies who were starting to run away with huge smiles on their faces as well.
“On my.” Fluttershy let out, slightly worried as she watched over the dragon and the fillies run in the grass, with Unified trying every now and then to jump on the little ponies. He was however quite slower and clumsier than them, so he didn’t really get any good chances. Though it did nothing to damage his good spirit.
Sage was coordinating their body to run after Sweetie Belle at one moment, then a second later he was behind Apple Bloom or Scootaloo. All of them were having the time of their life right now. And while Sage was busy running, Skaly and Rex tried to catch the fillies with their teeth.
“Skaly, Rex! Don’t bite!” Fluttershy called them out.
The two heads barely heard her, but they still listened to her warning. Instead of biting, they tried to use their long necks to capture the fillies.
Sighing in relief, Fluttershy sat down before the porch of her cottage, keeping a keen eye on children. Watching them have so much fun, she realized that she may have been a bit harsh on Unified, even if that was with good intentions in mind. The little dragon was getting far more agile and certain in his movements, and even if he was still far slower than the fillies, it showed that he was growing quickly.
It didn’t really bother Fluttershy, but she was a bit disappointed to see him grow that fast. Not that his body was growing quickly, but Unified was obviously quite smarter than any baby she knew.
Maybe she would have to see with Cheerilee if it would be possible to allow Unified to start school soon.
But there was still quite some time before they would get there, and after a dozen more minutes to play, Unified was panting on the ground with a dopey smile on his face. Their body was tired, and Rex was already passed out, sleeping.
Smiling at them, Fluttershy gently picked them up and placed them on her back, where they tried to hang on with their claws and necks.
“Sorry girls, but I think it’s nap time for Unified.” Said Fluttershy.
“Aw, already?” Asked Scootaloo.
“Well he is a baby.” Reminded her Sweetie Belle.
“Right. Can we come back later?” Apple Bloom asked the yellow pegasus.
“Maybe tomorrow? I think they will be asleep most of the day, as they don’t really spend that much energy playing.” Suggested Fluttershy even as she heard a trio of small snores behind her.
“Okay! See you tomorrow Fluttershy!” Waved Apple Bloom.
“Bye Fluttershy!” Said in unison the other two fillies.
They ran at full speed from her cottage, in the direction of Sweet Apple Acres, so Fluttershy wasn’t worried about them. Sighing in contentment, she went back inside and put Unified on his cushion, where he curled up around himself.
Fluttershy pet his back a few times, appreciating watching them sleep like this, before putting their cover on them.
With that done, she was sure that her little animals would watch over the sleeping dragon, so she made her way back to her chickens, who still had quite a few things to say.
