A Soldier's Harmony
Remembrance Day Tribute (Hiatus)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterWar is a cruel thing, and it brings out the darkest aspects of Humanity. However, those young men and women who fought, in any war, did so for a reason. They were fighting for their country, for their families, and their loved ones. They chose to lay down their lives and pay the ultimate price. If it weren't for them, we as a people would not be how we are today. We wouldn't have freedom, we wouldn't have the comfort of our day to day lives. We do not forget those who laid down their lives, because without them and their sacrifices, we would have nothing.
For some reason, I haven't seen much talk of the poem,In Flanders Fields, so I'll post it here for everyone to see.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
