Oh no! The dreaded author's note is at the top of the story, BEWARE! No, but in some seriousness this story was probably waiting on the backburner for way too long most likely. The original write-up of this story was done way back in 2015 (I think?) and just decided to scrap to and rewrite the entire thing keeping the original idea of a second-person story (Funnily enough, my favorite reads.) inspired by a MLP Sexual Birthday thing I found way back when. Bathing with Sunshine
You let out a hot breath while wiping the sweat from your brow. That good ol' afternoon sun is beating down on you something fierce. You were currently working somewhere in the Canterlot Castle Gardens, helping the old grounds keeper. Bless his soul. Did you have to though? No. Did you want to? Of course! You didn't remember then just like you still don't now. What was her name again? You can't remember right now, but you know that you are ever grateful to the princess and that mare for getting you out of there.
You can't complain though, you're here now with what you believe is a sweet gig. You get to see Celestia on her way when she leaves for matters outside the castle and have seen her in less than modest clothing to boot. The first time you saw her was rather embarrassing for you. Yet she treated the encounter like it was nothing, now it's just part of your life. You feel a hand on your shoulder, pulling you away from your thoughts.
However, in your year of service, you've started to develop feelings for the princess. Kind of hard not to when you're the only one she trusts with a more vulnerable side outside of her sister. It's a special kind of feeling that you're sure Celestia doesn't feel the same way. You continue your job despite it, just as you have been doing.
"Ya done some great work here today, kid. Why don't ya go take a load off for lunch." The old groundskeeper tells you with a smile.
"Thanks. Hey, if you ever need any help, just find me and ask, okay?"
"I think I can manage on my own, but I'll keep that in mind."
With that, you headed off into the castle for a shower and a change of clothes. A burst of cool air hits you right on the face when you open the door. It gives you a refresher and you continue down the halls towards your own room. Yet another perk of the princess 'keeping a close eye' on you. You always felt it was for her own amusement, not that she'd tell you. Like ever. Lady likes to keep her secrets.
You continue making your way through the castle's various halls. Passing other guards where some of the gave you a salute and others just stood there. You start to fumble around in your pockets for your keys as you near your room. The thought of a cool shower after the long hours of work is even more enticing now. You fish out a keyring from your and start to file through your keys on your approach.
The lock clicks and you swing your door open. You take a moment to look down the hall towards Celestia's bedroom. Your room wasn't really far from hers, with the usual justified reason. You can see her door open, almost at a crack. Huh, she must be taking a quick break from her duties. You think to yourself before stepping into your room. You close the door behind you and breath out a sigh of relief.
Your eyes scan your room, it wasn't a small room by any means and has many amenities you'd expect from a royal suite. A rather large bed, larger than you could ever dream of hogging to yourself even if you tried. The one addition to this room that changed since your stay is the simple mannequin you use to store a chest plate that you only wear when outside the palace with the princess. You make your way over to the wardrobe and open it's doors to peer at its contents. Various shirts and pants are hanging inside and you take your time picking out a suitable outfit.
You lay your new clothes out on your bed and turn back to the wardrobe to rummage through some of the drawers for new undergarments. With everything laid out, you start making head way to the bathroom. That shower is calling your name and like tartarus you aren't going to ignore it any longer! You take one step into the bathroom and close the door behind you.
You let the water cascade over you, feeling refreshed after the garden work you put in this morning. As you stand under the water, you start to feel around for the shampoo. You didn't want to open your eyes from the comfort of the liquid rushing over your body. You stop as soon as you hear your name, in an all too familiar tone from an all too familiar mare.
"I should really lock my door." You mutter to yourself.
"That's not going to stop me." Celestia retorts in a sing song tone
You take a moment to peek from the shower to look at the princess, taken aback that she already is naked.
"What in the name of-!" You avert your gaze by ducking back behind the curtain. "Celestia, why?!"
"Oh please, you've seen me like this plenty." You can almost hear her smile as she gets closer. "Plus, I thought my personal guard could use some help washing up."
"Those were different!" You retorted, but no avail as you hear the shower curtain move.
The way she said that last part stirred something inside you. Being ever the gentleman, you keep facing the faucet as Celestia got in with you. It wasn't long until her hands press against your chest and her body against your back. You can't complain, her fur is extremely soft and felt amazing against your skin. You swear you heard her murmur something as she seems to just snuggle into your back. You bring a hand up and touch one of hers.
"Mind passing me the shampoo?" You ask, trying not to sound bothered.
You feel her nod against the back of your neck and one of her hands move from your chest. A moment later, the bottle of shampoo appeared inside your peripheral. Something about her seems...off. You can't quite place a finger on it just yet, but you know somehow. You are the next closest being next to Luna that knows more about Celestia than most ever see in public. You set the bottle back down and start to lather in the suds with one hand, slightly moving out of the shower. You feel her back off some and you find yourself missing her touch a tad. You feel the shower rag press against your back and scrub away in circles. You refuse to look at Celestia right now, unsure if she actually wants you to or not. The back scrub almost feels like a massage with the way she keeps pressing it against your back, starting to relax you.
Before you know it, she spins you around to face her. Your eyes go wide before you practically screw them tight. You feel it again, the rag pressing against your chest, scrubbing in circles. You start to slowly open your eyes to look at the princess. Her mane is wet, down against her shoulders and back, it looks to have lost some of its ethereal glow you are used to. Is she humming? It sounds like she's humming something as she scrubs your chest with the rag. Her eyes fixed on her hands and your body. To you, she looks magnificent.
You dare not look lower, but you do see her smile and it warms your heart some. It was a genuine smile, ones you saw when it was the two of you. Celestia takes a step closer to you and her hand gets lower. You watch her, somewhat curious but you have a feeling where this will go. "Celestia, what do you mean?"

"You're the closest.." She pauses for the moment, trying to find the right word. Then she looks into your eyes. "You're the closest creature to me outside of Luna. All of that time we spent together, albeit short, you've never judged my actions too harshly, you seem to know exactly when I'm bothered, and are always there for me when it seems like nopony else is."
"Well, it is part of the job to be there." You chuckle a little, causing small smile to form between her cheeks. "About the only thing I can't do is tell what you're thinking half the time."
It was her turn to take the step closer now, you can see a glimmer in her eyes.
"I do have one small confession to make..." You say with a sheepish grin.
"Hmm?" Celestia leans in closer.
"I may also feel the same way about you also." You feel your cheeks burning as she stares at you intently.
