Previous Chapter[…] and while he has since long passed, perhaps none of his research and discoveries were as important as those that resulted in the founding of The Dream Library. Despite it not being a tangible resource that’s accessible in the waking world, its establishment nonetheless revolutionized global communication and collaboration across nations, cultures, and languages in ways that historians of the past could only dream of. In a sense, Silver Eclipse paved the foundations of the modern Library of Alexandria.
[…] But what drove the first librarian to embark on his quest to preserve and share knowledge? Well, in his own words,
“This is the culmination of nearly a decade of planning, practice, and persistence. You see, all throughout history, countless men and women have devoted themselves to the mission of collecting and preserving knowledge to pass onto others. This was an admirable mission, though, one that was limited by the constraints of the waking world.
Ever since the Riverview Cataclysm, my focus has been on doing what I could to help others. I think everyone that had any remote connection to Riverview could say the same, of course. But what could I do to actually help? Well I’m a historian, and I’ve always believed that sharing the stories and dreams of those that we’ve lost helps keep a part of them alive forever. If I could help do this for others, maybe the world could start to be a better place.
In all of my studies and research, one thing has become far clearer than anything else. Time, is the greatest danger to this goal.
I don’t expect to be remembered in the history books, but my dream is that somehow, what I’m doing in the dream realm will inspire others to do the same.”
It is abundantly clear that Silver Eclipse finally found a purpose in the gifts he was granted post-ETS, and as they say, the rest was history.
