Chapter 9: Time Skipping bitch or Easy-going King

Mason sitting at the King’s dining room table savored a wholesome breakfast, the air infused with the aroma of fresh fruits and whole grains. His plate boasted a vibrant array of colorful fruits and a bowl cereal with buttered toast with jam on it, embodying a complete breakfast. Across from him, Spike indulged in a carnivorous feast, relishing the succulence of pork and the crispy allure of bacon. A culinary divergence unfolded, showcasing contrasting dietary choices. Amidst bites of nutritious goodness and sizzling meaty indulgence, Mason and Spike shared a meal, their choices embodying the diversity of tastes and within the shared space of the dining table. Mason was reading the agenda next to him with Spike eating and chewing loudly.
Spike asked, “So, what's on the agenda today?
Mason replied, “Well, we have to go to the agricultural hall to assess the progress of this season’s harvest. Then to the military to show off an invention I created and then to the political hall to go over some issues Ive been having with them. We will head back to discuss trade with some visitors coming to the castle as they are running late apparently.”

Spike asked, “It’s been a…what a year and 5-months since we’ve seen the guys. How do you think they are doing?”
Mason replied, “Well, I'm pretty sure they are doing what they are good at while also learning new tricks to their skills.”
Spike retorted, “Speak for yourself the only thing that I have now is thicker muscles and a more toned body. The only skills I have is the different fire. I basically have nothing. When will I gain stronger skills?”

Mason shaking his head in frustration and said, “You're eating meat to catch up on all your years of malnutrition. You’re a dragon not a pony so fruit isn’t a bad or good thing for your body, so your muscles are taking in the protein and helping your muscles develop and stay built.”
Spike replied, “Oh so you're trying to get my body back to liking meat instead of being a vegetarian.”
Mason said, “Yeah, let's head to the agricultural hall and see how Big Mac is doing.”

Mason and Spike walked to the Agricultural Hall. Which was one of the many rooms in the knew Town Hall building. The town hall was close to the newly renovated Griffon Castle. That looks like a proper castle with high tech defenses. Mason incorporated runic magic and modern technology from his world to blend it into a new type of technology. Mason called it Runic engraved Metal or R.E.M. Which was a self explanatory process.

Mason entered the Town Halls agricultural meeting room. Mason saw the farming griffons talking about this season's harvest and how they need to increase production to increase next season's output to create more profit.
Mason asked, “How’s this season's harvest guy’s?”
Thadius replied, “Great! Since Big Mac’s been here we established proper farmland and created wheat and other types of crops to make a successful profit this year and might I add it’s still a wonder to see you in front of us farmers after filling in the Griffin Gorge last year.”
Mason looked around and noticed Big Mac was Meditating in the corner with a green aura glowing around his body. Mason scanning his body nodded in approval with Big Mac’s progress.

Mason looked back at the griffons and asked, “What crop have you guys sold and what have we sustained for this month?”
Thadius replied, “We sold the usual griffon apples, corn, carrots, and potatoes and barely had any irregularities in our crops this season. The animal farms like pigs and sheep are coming along great.”
Mason said, “Good, Remember in order to turn a profit we need to sell the best produce and we need to sell cheap as well. You guys are doing great and working hard always.”
Mason asked a few more questions and gave a little bit of key tips and tricks on farming and Thadius listened and explained that this season's harvest has been the kingdom’s most successful year and the profit margin amount for next month will only get better. Mason looked at his watch and explained that he had an appointment with the Military and the new tech that's going to be issued next month and a few other things.

Mason left with Spike to his right. Mason said, “He will reach greater heights in the next few months if he keeps his training up.”
Spike interested asked, “What do you mean isn’t his abilities that of a Druid and he’s been an apple farmer for his whole life so why wouldn’t his abilities only get better over the amount of time he’s putting in?”
Mason replied, “No, I mean Big Mac is going to plateau and then in his desperation. he will break his barrier limit when it is needed most.”
Mason opened the door to the Military Base still being built. Mason had shown the griffon how to create a militarized structure and other skills from modern times through he kept the creation of guns out of his kingdom he knew better to play with that fire. Naturally Mason had to teach and use rune magic to help the griffons learn and study the information or they could make the engravings themselves and other stuff like runic magic.

Mason stopped at the front of the Bio-dome that he created. Mason remembered seeing blueprints for a globalization of this back in his FBI days. It was something named GCW. That can change the climate of a place by shifting chemicals in the atmosphere. Mason applied that kind of knowledge to a dome and created the perfect climate/ gravity changer to help the griffons build muscle and help them learn maneuver tactics.

Mason noticed Soarin commanding his troops while showing the new helmets how they work and the different modes for offense and defense outside the dome. Mason walked up behind Soarin while he was explaining the safety of the new helmet and the functions it can simulate.
Mason asked, “How does one turn on the fighting simulation?”
Soarin turning around and saluting immediately and replied, “Yes, My King it’s the griffon rune for "on" and what it does is puts the recipient in a sleep stasis to plug the mind into the sim to help them fight in battles needed and simulate the maneuverability of our enemies to calculate the chances of our military has in winning a fight.”
Mason nodded at Soarin and Soarin telling his troops to enter the simulation world to start the basics of sparring and go from there.

Mason asked, “How's it hanging man I haven’t seen you in a year and 5-months?”
Soarin replied, “It’s fantastic! I learned a few new tricks and I want to show them to you.”
Mason said, “Yeah man, let's see it.”

Soarin walked to the track, stopped for less than a second and turned around and asked, “How was that?”
Mason Laughed and replied, “That was amazing and a neat skill and might I say the way you stopped the air from blowing everywhere is a great touch of control.”
Soarin said, “Thanks, Mason, it was all thanks to your training and how you taught…. WAIT AIR WHAT!”

The moment Soarin finished his sentence the air exploded with sound barrier air bursts several times almost as if mortar fire was being sent out. Mason looked at Soarin with a straight face as the wind ripped through the air. Mason said, “When you use that skill you need to take note of the air current and cut the air like a katana or a razor-sharp sword, see the current and slice it with your hand and move through the cut current.”

Soarin asked, “How do you see something that's invisible to the naked eye? Because it makes no sense.”
Mason replied, “You need to train your aura to feel and see the air current. When you are done with work go to the Agricultural Hall and ask to find Big Mac. He can probably teach you a little about aura.”
Soarin said, “Alright, I guess you need to leave to keep up with your busy schedule.”
Mason replied, “Yeah, I’m heading to the Political Hall next.”

Mason waved to Soarin on his way to the political hall and Spike, following Mason, asked, “So what is the next thing I need to do? Because I want to catch up to them as fast as possible.”
Mason, frowning while still walking, said, “You can’t rush power and knowledge you need to work for it and in order to do it right it takes time.”
Spike said, “That’s not fair, what about the others there seem to be cutting corners.”

Mason stopped and looked at Spike and said, “Do you truly believe Big Mac and Soarin cut corners and haven’t worked hard enough. Spike, Big Mac has worked as a Farmer for the longest time so him building muscle is second nature to him. So it makes sense that aura is something he can work at it, and he has a unicorn horn now, so it makes aura building faster. Then there’s Soarin who has been a Wonder Bolt for a little over a decade now. Plus, on top of that he has alicorn genes mixed into his body. Which helps him increase his recover speed and skills. They never cut corners, they worked hard and made it a habit to train. The difference between them is there increased chances to live longer in the upcoming battle that we will face!”
Spike looked back at what they are capable of and replied, “What about me, what can I do, what do my genes tell you when it comes to talent and training?”
Mason said, “You want to know then I'll tell you.” Mason pulled up the diagram and showed Spike his genetic make-up.

Spike asked, “What am I looking at because I’m confused?”
Mason replied, “The first few genes in your DNA strand are your physical appearance and body type which is all about your basic makeup; the middle set is attributes and genetic skills that can’t change or add on. The last set is your hidden genetics or your ancestral genes that help you the most. That's why you need to eat meat and grow your muscles. You have the past dragon king bloodline and other genetic makeup that you have yet to unlock because you haven’t met the requirements.”

Spike said, “So in order to unlock that power I have to meet the ancestral requirements.”
Mason, turning off the hologram, looked at Spike and replied, “Never doubt the training I have set for you because I will never steer my brothers wrong, ok!”
Spike said, “I’m sorry I guess I’m a little jealous of their power and how fast they improve.”
Mason pulled up the information on his human body when he was younger and said, “Take a look at my body as a kid and notice that my genetic makeup counteracts every advantage my body would have had. In fact I was born with a body that fights me every chance it has. You have it lucky Spike that your dragon ancestors are trying to help you and improve the power in your body.”

Spike started to reflect on his thoughts while Mason walked to the political hall. They drew closer to the town halls political building Mason said, “Spike, It’s understandable that you feel jealous. Because it feels like you are lagging behind and trust me! Those who meet the requirements make massive leaps and bounds. Your apart of the dragon race and have the dragon kings bloodline in you. So you will make tremendous strides so wait to make that progress.”

Mason entered the town hall political meeting for the passing of laws. That's when Stygian was sitting in the middle of a group of griffons trying to make a poverty tax so they can make more money. Mason as he entered the room and saw Stygian with his eyes closed rubbing his face in frustration to notice. Mason looked at all of the griffons and said, “Still can’t agree on a law that will benefit the majority I see.”
Stygian looked up elated to see Mason replied, “By Celestia thank you for showing up these literal vultures just want to destroy this newly growing country!”

Mason, going from a happy expression to a pissed one asked, “Is what my political adviser saying true or lying to me?”
Jenkins thinking he could trick Mason replied, “That is absolutely a lie. The political advisor is trying to plot a coup against the new king.”
Mason snapped his fingers and Jenkins the vulture, griffon hybrid mix puffed up and blew up. The other guys started to panic and tried to explain themselves but Mason was about to snap his fingers and looked at the other griffons.

Mason said, “The next time I come in here and hear about you guys wanting to tax the poor I’ll snap my fingers again and all of you will blow up so remember that. I have the power to enforce laws as long as they are reasonable but the moment another law comes to my throne and it’s about taxes on the poor to start rebellion or incite violence against me, I’ll kill you to show the example to the rest of the kingdoms people to know what I do to bad people and traitors.”
Kilgrow replied, “Traitors?”

Mason smiled sinisterly again and asked, “You thought I wouldn’t notice spies and double agents in my counsel, did you?”
Kilgrow said, “What are you going to do with us?”
Mason looked at Stygian and nodded and Stygian opened a dark shadow mouth and teleported them into the dark dungeon to interrogate them.

Mason asked, “So how’s the training going?”
Stygian replied, “I can now transform into anyone and copy their style to a basic understanding. I can also study the mannerisms and other attributes of their skills and with the help of your other powers know I can hide in the light.”
Mason touched Stygians forehead to scan his body to see the power and Mason smiled and said, “Send in the real griffons that you have been training to work for you and make sure this kingdom is a better place.”

The griffons walked in and stood in a line awaiting their next order. Mason walked around them and asked, “Why are you guys standing like that? I just want to get to know you griffons better?”
The griffons relaxed a bit in their uniforms and looked at one another to see who will talk and a female griffon named Grola replied, “My name is Grola and I want to make the Griffon Kingdom a better place for all to live and enjoy our rich culture and learn to live as a family.”
Mason smiled and asked, “Well Grola, can you tell me how you plan to make the kingdom a better place?”

Grola, taking a second to answer said, “Well, I don’t think I have the best way to fix everything in this kingdom, but I believe it would make people think the dirt path to our houses were safer if we had a patrol or guards to catch any dangerous anthro's.”
Mason, listening with a smile, asked, “How do you plan to implement this idea with the law?”
Grola replied, “Well I think we need to create jobs to enforce the laws to protect and serve but I think that we should implement a law to enforce the morals of public rights but also expand upon the rights of the task force to show that the kingdom doesn’t play favorites in the court of justice.”

Mason looked at the others and said, “What Grola has said is the best way to enforce law and show the people of this great kingdom. That they are in control of everything on their property. This group is about, making our kingdom safe and making the law something that benefits the hurt and punishes the evil. This kingdom is created with justice and equality in mind. Remember that unnecessary evil for lawful good is a flawed and broken concept of the judicial court of our neighboring kingdom. The laws you send out are for me to see and inspect. Then I inspect it so if I see a flaw in the law you want to implement. Then I’ll set up a meeting to get better clarification on the law and how to better benefit the people.”

Artsen asked, “What about the anthro’s before us and what happened to them?”
Mason’s look changed from an inspirational smile to a frown and said, “There is one thing I will not stand for and that is corruption in my kingdom and spy's to incite chaos. When you set the bar of your morals to the floor you become something worse than a rat. You become something more akin to trash.”
Artsen replied, “OH.”

Mason asked, “Artsen what by your definition is the worst job you have ever taken?”
Artsen replied, “Retail next to the Griffon Gorge that was pretty bad I guess but ever since you filled it in. I was able to follow my passion which is law.”
Mason retorted, “No, it’s being the king of a kingdom and you will probably ask why? I get it you are skeptical and thinking being a King. That would be awesome everyone would have to do what I say. but when you work retail you can quit or find another job with your reputation in tacked. But as a king you can’t quit or leave your kingdom unattended, or you’d be dooming the people you swore to protect. Not only that but your words carry weight and hold a level of credibility. People will either hate you or love you and that depends on the rules you enforce. Then you either die by being a coward or you get replace by a better king with your reputation being destroyed so everyone who lived in your kingdom. That watched it implode on itself because you were in power. The people will never trust you with anything again. The world will know you, for your failures not for your success. That the sad reality of life. Your success will be overshadowed by your failures always.”

Mason explaining this concept had every anthro in the room he was in; speechless not because Mason knew that failure or quitting was never an option on his list but how Mason believed in the people, he personally trusts make the kingdom great and or capable of so much more. After a little more talking Mason said his goodbyes and headed back to the castle to talk to the neighboring kingdoms newly established trade routes and to discuss the items they would like to buy.

Spike asked, “Did you actually mean what you said about how you trust the people you personally picked to follow you?”
Mason replied, “I genuinely believe in all of you guys and want to see you reach your max potential and of course I want you guys to be better than the best.”
Spike sarcastically retorted, “I think you're full of it. You can’t alway trust everyone that follows you.”
Mason said, “So I shouldn’t trust you then?”
Spike replied, “Why, I just feel like it’s a fool's errand.”

Mason asked, “So what would you do if your girlfriend's life was endangered by a psychopath dictator who wants to control everything?”
Spike replied, “I’d probably find him and kill that son of a bitch!”
Mason shrugged his shoulders with a surprised face and Spike, realizing it, said, “Oh so it’s a leap of faith on the premise of righting wrongs.”
Mason, not looking at Spike, replied, “That’s right Cadence, maybe you should have understood the situation before taking control of my friend.”
Cadence in control of Spike retorted, “What! How did you know it was me? I thought my cover was perfect.”
Mason replied, “Oh, you were close to perfect, but the issue is that Spike never cared about the reason for why we were on this adventure he only cared about training to prove his abilities to me.”

Cadence asked, “It sucks that there is no way to get rid of me since I’m never leaving Spike’s body. So, what are you going to do next?”
Mason replied, “I’m not doing anything because it’s not me that’s going to break the spell.”
Cadence, confused and stunned, said, “What do you mean the spell can’t be broken without the caster dispelling it.”
In that very second Mason stopped in the middle of the hallway in the newly built castle. Spoke a phrase in a language she couldn’t understand. That’s when she felt something boiling to the top of Spikes mind. Almost like there was an entity forcing the spell to tear and break the mental chains on Spikes mind. That’s when Mason smiled and said another phrase in dragon tongue almost immediately. The ancestral dragon roar that came out of Spike's mouth. It ripped the spell to shreds and Spike woke up from the spell. Then his eyes changed colors to red to show he was opening the ancestral dragon bloodline. Spikes green scales on his body turned red and spikes started to protrude from his body.

Mason nodded his head in approval and said, “Now the requirements have been met.”
Spike fainted and Mason teleported him to his bed in the castle and Mason made his way to the Throne Room where he discussed kingly issues.

Mason opened the door and saw Princess Celestia and the Storm King waiting. Mason walking over to his chair and the other two were sitting in regular chairs and said, “Apologies, I was dealing with some money hungry traitors.”
Storm King said, “Let me guess. You beheaded them to make an example out of them for challenging your reign.”
Mason looked at both of the anthros sitting at the table and noticed a few things and replied, “I didn’t. I have a guy for that.”
Storm King laughing said, “I like you more than ever. Well, I almost feel bad for what I’m about to do.”

Mason, changing his expression from smiling to a serious face, asked, “And what pray tell is that because I was informed that this meeting was about trade?”
Storm King, chuckled harder, replied, “Well I would say a “trade” but I have the deed to this kingdom from the original king of this kingdom.”
Mason looked at the deed and read it and Storm King stood up and said, “Well, It’s been fun watching you work and build such a fine kingdom, but I can take over from here.”

Mason in the middle of the Storm King's speech started laughing and said, “This deed is not only fake but now I know what makes you evil. You are a con artist. You forge information and steal all you can. You having the Storm Kingdom would probably be the work of an actual figure. Who took risks and was respected. So in other words probably your mother since the info on you doesn’t say anything about your father. The fact that you have nothing to your name is sadder than you bringing Queen Chrysalis to my castle pretending to be a fake Celestia.”

Storm King stopped giggling and started seething in rage about to say something. Mason sent a wave of bloodlust at the Storm King forcing him to stand still and stay silent.
Mason said, “This is the mark of a TRUE KING! I sit in my Throne before you and command respect and silence even when being threatened. You who was crowned a king have brought nothing but shame to those that came before you, and now you think you deserve respect for this charlatan act you put on. When a man is crowned king he has a responsibility to provide for there people and needs a level of wisdom and knowledge. Not some cheap tricks and a three ring circus act. Power and strength not stupidity and arrogance!”

Mason, getting pissed, said, “I’d love to see how Sombra comes to realize how dumb you are and how much trust he put in a load that was meant to be swallowed. He will not be happy about this because I know this wasn’t his plan was it?” Mason pulled up a radar system to his kingdom's border. Hologram popped up and pointed to the dots shown on the map.
Mason still holding that point on the dots and said, "Did you think I wasn’t going to see your flying fleet hidden in the artificial storm clouds you have created so you can diplomatically watch from a distance. Here let's make it clearer so you don’t say they aren’t yours.”
Mason, using rune magic, transformed the radar into a high tech systematic holographic map that showed his hidden fleet in the cloud cover.

Mason releasing his bloodlust asked, “WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKIN? COMING TO MY KINGDOM AND TRYING TO TAKE IT FROM ME WITH A FEW MAGIC JELLYBEANS! YOU CAME TO MY KINGDOM THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR BUT ILL MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE OUT THE BACK DOOR IN A CASKET OR AN ASHTRAY! YOU DELUSIONAL DUCK EATING CUNT! SERIOUSLY STORM KING WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING. YOU'RE FIGHTING ME, A TRUE KING AND LEADER! FOR YOU TO COME HERE AND TRY TO TAKE WHAT I AND MY GROUP HAVE WORKED FOR AND YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO FORGE A SCRAP OF SHIT PAPER IN MY PRESENCE AND NOW YOU THINK I’LL LET YOU LEAVE ALIVE! I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE IRRITATED TO SEE A WALKING PIECE OF SHIT IN MY LIFE BUT GUESS WHAT YOU TAKE FIRST PLACE AWARD FOR IT! Now get the fuck out of my castle and never come back because if you do I’ll kill you. Then feed the pigs your corpse in one of our farms as nutrients. Oh, before I forget tell Sombra how much of a joke I think he is. In other words he has clown energy oozing out of his pours. He’s pretty much a court jester fucking around keeping a complete failure like you two on his side just my opinion personally.”
Storm King nodded to Chrysalis and ran out of the castle scared and immediately teleported back to their fleet and went back in the direction of the Crystal Empire as fast as their flying boats could go.

Mason laughed hard and heard boots and shoes running to the Throne room. Big Mac, Stygian, Soarin, Spike, and Grill Cheese all appeared and saw Mason sitting on the Throne like a true badass king.
Mason asked, “What? They thought I was going to bend over and take it. They were crazy for even trying to take what’s mine.”
Big Mac replied, “We felt your power explode for a couple of seconds, so we rushed to help and who’s “they”?”

Mason stood up and walked over to them and said, "Well, the Storm King thought he could visit our kingdom and take all we worked so hard to build and fix.”
Spike retorted, “We?”
Mason looked at them with a little confusion and replied, “Well yeah, we all do our part to build this kingdom. So, I can’t say I did all the work.”

Mason, looking over at Grill Cheese and trying to change the subject, asked, “How’s your training going?”
Grill Cheese said, “Check this out.”
Grill Cheese started channeling his chaotic aura to mix elemental energy into his fighting techniques and then pulled out cooking utensils as weapons. Grill Cheese done with his demonstration landed and did a cool pose.

Mason, impressed with his progress nodded and said, “We will be leaving in a few months.”
Stygian replied, “Do you trust that the Storm King won’t try anything or Sombra might take over another person.”
Mason smiled and said, “I have a plan that's why we won’t leave immediately. It’s going to take a while but with the help of Discord we can get it done in less than a few months.”
