It is a dark and rather spooky night in Ponyville as ponies of all sizes can be seen putting up decorations, for what you may ask? Well for Nightmare Night of course. Every pony loves said night, well except for one...
"Oh why must it be this scary holiday again.." Fluttershy says from the safety of her home as she preps for once again hiding out from the holiday of Nightmare Night despite the previous year of her scaring her friends silly with her "Flutterbat" outfit.
"Oh come now my dear, it can't be that bad." Discord says as he apparers out of nowhere.
"But what about all the monsters and other scary things that ponies dress up as..." Fluttershy said.
Fluttershy was always afraid of Nightmare Night, not many knew why. On two separate occasions her friends tried to get her to at least enjoy the festivities but even though it appeared they were successful Fluttershy still seems to hide away once the holiday comes up.
Discord suddenly had an idea,he grinned then says, " How about the two of us swap places this Nightmare Night? And for the kicker we make your home a little Carnival tent full of Chaos."
"Y-you really think that's a good idea?" Fluttershy asks him.
"Of course it is Fluttershy, it'll be a riot!" Discord says before literally laughing his head off.
"Oh ok fine as long as no pony gets hurt. Oh and um please make sure my animals aren't involved." Fluttershy said.
"Oh alright fine.. " Discord said.
"yay." Fluttershy whisper cheered
"Wonderful, now let's get started." Discord says before snapping his clawed fingers.
Ponyville would be in for a very rude awakening...
Elsewhere in Ponyville, Twilight and friends would be discussing on what activities they would do on this year's Nightmare Night.
For costumes this time around Twilight went with her Princess regalia as she figured that would be a good idea, Pinkie dressed as a weretimberwolf, Apple and Rarity dressed as each other due to yet another lost bet between the two and Rainbow Dash was dressed as a vampire pony.
"Ah still can't believe we lost that bet with Rainbow on who could beat Fluttershy in an arm wrestling contest." Applejack says with her head down in defeat.
"I agree, who knew the shy dear could be so strong..." Rarity says while trying to fix the cowboy hat she now wore.
"Heh, told ya she's strong." Rainbow Dash bragged.
"Girls please calm down, keep in mind the same mare beat rainbow in a staring contest about um... Was is 5 or 6 times?" Twilight says in an attempt to stop the others from arguing.
"Twilight!? I thought we agreed to not mention that again! Aw man..." Rainbow Dash said.
"Oh um sorry Rainbow... Anyway that's besides the point, have any of you figured out what we're doing today?" Twilight said.
"Maybe we can try out this cool looking haunted house the just suddenly appeared near the Everfree, it's Carnival themed!" Pinkie Pie says cheerfully.
"Haunted house? I don't remember seeing anything like that near the Everfree before unless this is Discord's idea for a Nightmare Night scare.." Twilight says.
"Wait a sec don't Fluttershy live over that way, ah hope she ain't in any trouble." Applejack said.
"I bet she's peachy." Pinkie says as she bounces in place.
"Well there's only one way to find out" Twilight says before she gathers everyone else then heads off to Fluttershy's cottage unaware of the possible danger.
On the way to over Fluttershy's Cottage, Twilight and co would notice that said cottage wasn't a cottage anymore but a huge Carnival tent with lots of orange and yellow lights all over the top of it, it also had a couple of mismatched windows and a few chocolate colored clouds that would sometimes rain cotton candy.
"Wow, this definitely looks like the work of Discord alright." Twilight says as she flys around the tent.
"Somethin' don sit right bout this place Twi, it's kinda creepy." Applejack said.
"Yeah what Applejack said." Rainbow Dash says in agreement.
"C'mon girl's it's probably just a trick right? Fluttershy's going to come out in costume and scare us like last time. That'll be super fun." Pinkie Pie says cheerfully.
"I-it's no prank..." An unknown male voice says.
"Gah! Who are you!?" Twilight asks the stallion who she swore wasn't next to them before.
The stallion in question looks eeriely similar to discord if he were a pegasus, however this pony seemed very shy and had an apologetic look on his face.
"I-i'm dizzy twister... I've said too much, the Mistress awaits. Come with me" Dizzy says before he leads the Twilight and friends inside the Carnival tent.
Inside the girls were shocked, it was complete chaos! Walls on the floor, tables and chairs placed in random locations and most of the inside was different colors, some of it was even upside down.
All of a sudden they'd all hear a mischievous giggle which then turns to laughter. Next thing Twilight and friends knew they would find out exactly who the laughing belonged to as Fluttershy herself would suddenly appear in the room. She was definitely not herself as she had Discord's horns, Flutterbat's fangs and mane, her ears resembled an elf's own and she had one bat wing and a normal pegasus wing. The rest of her body was mostly normal.
"Well, well if it isn't my esteemed guests~" "Fluttershy" says in a sickly sweet tone.
"Fluttershy!? What happened to you!" Twilight says in shock.
"Fluttershy" would laugh again, this time being a more mocking kind of laughter.
She the then says "Oh wow that's rich. Fluttershy.. as if. The Name's Anarchy now and you're in my world now ponies. Welcome to the Carnival of Chaos!"
The chaotic mare would laugh some more after introducing herself, Twilight and her friends were both scared and speechless not only was the mare in front of them not exactly Fluttershy but she seemed to enjoy the scared looks on their faces.
Anarchy thens summons a bunch of living cardboard ponies then has them capture Twilight as well as the rest of the main six and then Anarchy would look at the one reading this story and say "Happy Nightmare Night~" then laugh for one last time...
She then proceeds to chase them around a bit alongside said living cardboard ponies before disappearing someplace for a short time before reappearing right in front of the main six who promptly scream and run.
Meanwhile in a secret room deep in the "Carnival of Chaos"...
"Do you think that was a bit too far Discord? I feel really bad..." Fluttershy says in her draconasus costume she had Discord make for her which she now takes off.
"Oh nonsense they'll be fine..." Discord says as he transforms back into a draconequis. "Besides they'll probably be in there for a really short while. I'm not that mean."
"I hope they'll be ok...." Fluttershy says as she watches Twilight and friends get chased around by an illusion of herself and a bunch of "living" cardboard ponies that were actually being moved by Discord's magic.
"As I said, they'll be fine my dear. Now sit back and enjoy the show." Discord says before summoning a teacup full of tea along with some popcorn.
