Ch1: My brother is getting...MARRIED?!
A scroll dropped onto a red and white checkered blanket, as 5 mares, and a small baby dragon, stare at a pale filly.
'My brother is getting married... my BROTHER is getting married to a... a PRINCESS?!'
Twilight just stared into the sky, taking a moment to process what she has been told. All five of her friends, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash looked really exited and also shocked in the short notice of the marriage. Not just any marriage.. but a royal wedding between Twilights brother, Shining Armor, and some Princess Mi-Amour Cadenza.
Applejack trotted up to Twilight, having a huge grin on her face."Your brother is getting married?! Congratulations Twilight, that's great news!!"
Twilight blinked, then stared at the horizon infront of her, Trotting away slowly.
"Yeah, that's great news, that I just got from a wedding invitation, not from my brother, but from a piece of paper?.."
Twilight stopped just a little infront of her friends and Spike, not showing a sign of anger, but disappointed. She closed her eyes, and opened them again, facing the ponies and dragon before her.
"I'm glad he's getting married, really, I am. It's just..." They all looked concerned now, urging her to carry on. Twilight sighed, before continuing "he's always been my BBBFF ever since I was young, an-"
"Not to be rude sugercube, but what does BBBFF stand for?"
Applejack smiled sheepishly as Twilight facehoofed. "Big brother best friend forever"
All of her friends whoad as she started to carry on. "And he's always told me everything, you know? We never hid anything important to eachother, not as important as some royal wedding..."
Twilight sat down as she frowned. She had always trusted Shining Armor with everything. They always would spend time together, make jokes, pull pranks, and help eachother out. But after a last minute letter informing her about a wedding between her brother and a princess, she doesnt feel.. important to him anymore. Not how he used to.
Rarity was the first one to come over to Twilight, and give her a squeeze on the shoulder. She now looked up at the fashionesta, seeing her gentle white smile. "Twillght dearie, I'm sure your brother has been busy ever since dating royalty, not to mention the wedding that will take place in two days."
She was right, in a way. But that still was a excuse. There would be time from many years off being able to tell her this. However, Twilight just needed to act okay, she didn't want to spoil the occasion for her friends and Spike.
She pulled a fake smile, and stood up to meet her friends eye to eye. "Thanks girls, I needed that. Now..."
Twilight turned in the direction to the train station, spotting it from the hill they were relaxing on. A small buzzing sound started to rise in her head, starting a little headache, which collided with the anxiety she was feeling right now. Twilight took a deep breath, and fixed on that perfect fake smile again. "Let's get ready for the wedding of our lives.."
{----------}
The journey to Cantorlot was amazing!! Well, except for Twilight.
Spike, and the 5 mares were practically squealing with joy. All of her friends were assigned with various jobs in the preparations for the wedding. As for Twilight, all she had to do is make sure everything was perfect. But from the looks of things, it was going downhill for her already.
They were all in the VIP cart, due to saving Equestria a few times now, and for being the element bearers. On one table, Spike, Rarity and Fluttershy were discussing various ideas for the brides dress, creating sketches and annotations in a small yet chunky book.
As for Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, they were all taking about the food and how to prepare the 'best wedding ever.' But for Twilight, she found a more secluded section of the train, sitting near a window as she was in deep thought. Well, she was trying to at most.
A strange buzzing sound started to be noticeable when she was at the picnic. At first, it was easy to ignore it, but now it was so loud that she can only barley hear ponies while they talk. But not just that, but she felt way more tired than she was earlier on, with a massive headache at it too.
Twilight lied onto one of the chairs and placed a ice pack on her fore head, trying to ease the pain. This had never happened before, never had she had a headache this severe in her lifetime. And this, this was just torture at most. If you had ever been repeatedly hit on the head with huge rocks at high speeds, the aftermath is what Twilight felt right now, but the pain never fading away.
'Why does it hurt s-'
A flash of pain appeared in her head, making her wince and bring the ice pack forcibly against the source. All of her friends were so caught up with the wedding, that they didn't notice Twilight on the earge of crying.
She didn't know why this was happening. In all of her life, she had never experienced so much pain in her life. Nothing added up. Twilight was completely fine yesterday, and all she did was study throughout the day. But, it had to be happening for a reason. However, that answer won't be acknowledged right now. It was overwhelming to be thinking too much now.
Twilight squeezed her eyes shut, trying to find a solution to her problem. Then it clicked. A numbing spell. Hopefully, it can last till tonight so she has enough time to find some tablets. Trying to catch her breath, she breathed in and out, getting her heart rate back to normal.
She smiled a little, now concentrating with the pain in her head, which was pretty much impossible due to the buzzing sound.
Twilight found an area in which the pain was radiating at most, preparing to launch the spell..until...
Small smarks of purple magic sputtered out of her horn, causing the lavender filly to start panicking.
'My magic..WHAT HAPPEND To-'
A loud whistle was heard, indicating that they were coming up to their destination. Twilight slightly lifted herself up, peaking through the window.
Cantorlot, the home to Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. All those precious memories roaming through the large city. She smiled just a little wider now, but now noticing something very..peculiar...
'Is that..a pink sheild?..'
A humongous pink shield, filled with sparkles, was dominating over Cantorlot, which wasn’t normaly there. Something must be happening. Something big. But she will get her answers later, Twilight needed to get this spell in place, or atleast, easing the pain so she could think normally.
She started to build up as much magic inside her as she could, trying to block out any buzzing sounds or pain in the way. But nothing was happening. Smaller sparks were coming out instead, not that smooth purple aura.
However, that changed as the pink sheild enveloped the unicorn, suddenly getting some magical energy. This sudden feeling of energy rushed through Twilights horn, but it didn't last. The energy was dying fast, starting to feel slightly tired as seconds went by. She needed to enchant the spell, and fast.
With all of Twilights energy, she placed the numbing spell, which will last for 5 hours at most. That should be plenty of time though. All that sudden magical energy was completely gone, feeling a little woozy and exhausted.
Slowly sitting up straight, Twilight sighed in relief as the feeling finally stopped. Which sadly, didn't get rid of the buzzing noise.
'Why do I hear buzzing? I asked the girls of they heard buzzing sounds, but they don't hear it. Strange...'
Twilight frowned, realising they were about to stop at the station. And just on queue, Pinkie Pie and Spike came up to her, grabbing one of her hooves as now she was being dragged to the rest of her friends.
"Come on silly. Time to get rid of that serious face and get ready to PARTY!!"
Twilight was confused in what Pinkie said, seeing her pink friend about to burst with pure joy. But she was able to hear 'ready to party' just slightly. She placed that same fake smile again, having a mix of a genuine smile.
She was about to see her brother since the fall of Nightmare moon. It was so exciting to be able to see Shining after so much that has happened. Sure, it has only been 5 months, but it was still quite a bit of time without seeing him.
They all stood at the trains door, as every pony, and Spike, were right beside her, all smiling warmly and excited to start preparing for the occasion.
With that said, the door opened, leaving all of her friends exiting the train with their belongings, leaving Twilight to slowly trot out.. wondering who this Princess Mi-Amour Cadenza was..and how to get rid of these indescribable noises...

Sup, so I'm not good at this stuff, and I'm busy quite a lot due to school, and I'm pretty young so I'm not the best writer ever, but I hope you enjoyed this. If you are confused with some changes from the actual show, please read the au information in the description.
Thanks :)
Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack were the first ones to peek out the train, spotting hundreds of guards standing around the premises. Cantorlot looked the same as always. The massive Castle never failed to amaze ponies every trip. Certainly, you would think it wouldn't hold ontop of the cliff due to its heaviness, but Princess Celestia enchantiled the mountain to be able to hold anything without fail for a very, VERY long time.
But that wasn't the only thing that was noticeable. Guards were placed everywhere. And I mean, everywhere. Every guard to the solar monarch looked completely the same. Two varies of coat colours in white and grey, the white guards having blue eyes as the grey had brown. The reason to this was to tell the difference between the groups of pegisi and unicorns, which was white for pegisi and grey for unicorns. It was odd to find earth ponies as guards in Cantrorlot, but if so, they would have a white coat with brown eyes, or a grey coat with blue eyes. With of course, no wings or horn.
Golden armour was worn with every individual, 6 pieces for the head, chest, and 4 hooves. A blue star was imbedded into the chest, all having white/light blue manes. From the looks of things, they all had wooden spears with metal spikes at the tip, holding them firmly while on petrol.
Rainbow Dash just whoa'd at the sheer amount of guards, eyes wondering place to place.
"Hey, what's with all the guards?" Rainbow Dash plainly questioned, as the three mares started to trot outside.
"I'm sure they're just taking the necessary precautions" Rarity concluded, now turning to Rainbow Dash. "Royal weddings do bring out the strangest of ponies"
Before Rainbow Dash was going to ask another question, a strange noise was heard inside the train, not knowing what kind of pony could make such a sound. Wait, never mind, it was just Pinkie.
"ahahaAhaHAAAAAAA CHOOOO!"
Confetti and small streamers flew out of the pink mares mouth, staring into space for a few seconds before smiling and trotting off. Fluttershy and Twilight started to exit the train, however, the lavender unicorn stopping briefly at the door.
Taking a few glances at her surroundings, Rainbow Dash wasn't kidding when she said there were a lot of guards. She knew why there would be hundreds of guards. It was the first royal wedding since, who knows when. But it looked like a more 'ready to attack' stance than just standing there for looks. This worried Twilight even more.
'First a massive sheild, now the guards? There can't be just a wedding going on.'
She cast a glance between her friends before staring at the guards once again.
'I need to figure out why there are so many guards and a sheild. Maybe we are under attack?? No. That's nonsense, if we were I would of been informed already.'
Frowning slightly, Twilight finally stepped of the platform, trotting closer to her friends.
Rarity had a determined face, smiling proudly as she started to squeal once again. "Now let's get going, we've got work to do"
And just like that, everypony started to walk away, but stopping as they waited for Applejack. The orange earth pony smiled at her once again, turning her head to meet the unicorn.
"And you've got a big brother to go congratulate."
Twilight looked again at the guards, then the castle. She sort of understood what Applejack stated. Something on the lines of 'you've-' 'big broth-' 'congratulate'. She wasn't sure how to greet her brother. In all honesty, there wasn't a feeling to describe how she was trying so hard not to have a panic attack.
Twilight sighed, then shared a glance at the apple farmer. "I guess so. I'll meet up with you guys later, okay?"
Applejack, still smiling at the unicorn, nodded as she went to catch up with the others. All 5 of her friends started to trot away, being met with some of the guards to do a brief inspection.
{------------}
A few moments later, Twilight started to search for Shining Armor, trying to think where he would be at this moment. However, that problem vanished as a white coated guard with brown eyes casually came up to Twilight, saluting before speaking.
"Miss Twilight Sparkle, Captin Shining Armor is waiting at the balcony near the war room. I shall escort you to him"
The filly briefly nodded before following the earth pony infront of her, knowing exactly what the guardsman said. The buzzing was starting to fade, just briefly, but it was still difficult to hear every word. Twilight looked at the stallion infront of her with a questionable look.
'Why do I need a escort? I perfectly know where the war room i-'
Twilight merely froze, before slowly catching up with the guard.
'Wait war room?! There must be a threat towards Cantorlot and the wedding. Normaly no pony is stationed in the area unless something big is about to commence'
Oh this wasn't going to end well, she knew it.
A few minutes later, they arrived at their destination. The guard bowed slightly, which had never happened to her before, and trotted away back to his station. Before she could think about the stallions strange behaviour, she heard a familiar voice.
Twilight lifted her head, noticing 3 white pegisi flying of into the distance, as 3 grey unicorns moved to the left stairwell. There were stairs either side of the building, golden steps with a red carpet ontop for its royal look.
There was a wooden door just in the middle on Twilights level, a golden door frame surrounding the double doors. Even so, two smaller doors were placed wither side, mostly used to place a few spare spears in case of emergencies.
The building was not as big at the whole castle, but was certainly bigger than the libary in Ponyvile. Two small towers were placed on the middle floor, which this building had 5 floors to it. Each part had a specific section in preparations for wars or attacks. The bottom was the holding rack for basic but reliable weapons. The second floor was where orders were normaly held, as the third, fourth and fifth floor were for containing office's, maps and information about different lands.
It's colour scheme was in variation of a dark pink, purple, violet, gold/dark gold and white as its primary colour. Pink streamers were noticeable all around Cantorlot due to the wedding, flowers brightening the mood of the celebration.
"TWILY!"
Flinching a little, she looked above her, seeing the one and only, Shining Armor. His white coat and blue mane nearly blend with the pegisi's look, but his armor was completely different to the others. Instead of just solid gold, he had a shade of purple surrounding him, the gold outlining the pieces. Shining didn't have any Armor below his chest, only having the two main parts to a normal guards uniform. And instead of the plain blue star, a pink star was replaced onto his chest, resembling the Sparkle house.
The stallion gleefully smiled, placing his helmet onto the wall before meeting up with his 'baby' sister. Twilight glared at her brother, showing a little disappointment to his eyes.
"Hey Shining, I see you've been quite busy lately" Twilight stated, pointing at the direction of guards.
The stallion stopped infront of the filly before embracing her in a tight hug.
"I've missed you, kid! And yeah, the I will be very busy for the next two days. A wedding sure does tire you out, especially being the Captin of the Royal guard" he chuckled, letting go of Twilight to be met with a sad look.
It was hard to decipher what her brother just commented, but due to his obvious movements in his lips, she was able to figure out what he said. And that annoyed her.
"Yes I know. But why didn't you tell me about the wedding sooner? Or if you were seeing somepony! You realise that you're getting married to royalty?" The unicorn started to feel her headache returning, even the buzzing was rising louder in her head, making her a bit dizzy.
"Yes I know. And I'm sorry Twily. But the past 5 months have been so hectic, I didn't have time to tell you in person." Shining Armor sighed, pointing at the sheild.
The stallion glanced at Twilight, sighing before her continued. "Princess Celestia has requested a major increase in security lately. And I know what you're thinking. But no, it's nothing to do with the wedding."
He started to trot to a small pond, stopping at the edge to be met with his reflection. "Recently, we discovered a threat that was being made towards Cantorlot. We don't know who they are, and why they want to do so, but we need to be prepared for anything"
Twilight had never seen her brother this serious, nor this worried to. She catched up with Shining, placing a hoof on his shoulder. The stallion looked up to meet his sister head to head, noticing her small yet sympathetic smile.
"I understand Shiny. Thank you for telling me this. It kinda makes sense now, it was troubling me when I first saw the sheild." Both of them shared a awkward yet happy chuckle.
"Thanks Twily for not panicking as you usually do, it helps"
"Haha, very funny. It took all of my will power to not do so" Twilight dead-panned, Shining Armor, in the corner of her eye, on the edge of bursting into laughter.
The stallion looked up to the sky, sighing before tapping Twilight on her shoulder.
"I need to cast another spell for the sheild. Try to cover your eyes, don't want to get you blind" he laughed, the unicorn filly still frowning at him, just before she turned to the opposite direction.
'Okay, so I was right. There is an attack. But why didn't they close of the wedding till it was over? Surely Princess Celestia or Princess Luna would do so.'
It was odd really. A wedding when there was a threat towards the city? You would be reasonable to close off the wedding till the danger was gone. But it still went on as scheduled.
Twilight jumped as she saw the shelid get hit by a similar aura, radiating pink magic around the area before it went back to its original look. She turned over to see her brother, rubbing his forehead while his horn created some sort of noise. The unicorn stallion started to wobble a little, before shaking his head to meet Twilight eye to eye.
"That..that's what I have to do every hour or so. Not the best feeling, but it has to be done."
Shining Armor started to go towards a stairwell, shortly following him up. They turned a right as they reached the top, silently trotting to a small bridge that connected the war room and a tower.
They both stopped on the middle of the bridge, the white stallion glancing at the troubled unicorn.
"I..I see. Sorry if I was sounding rude earlier. I just wished you'd.. you would of told me sooner that's all. It is your wedding in a few days after all. However.."
Shining wore a soft expression on his face, having a small smirk on his muzzle.
"I'm happy for you. You've met your special somepony. But a very, special somepony." Twilight teased, jabbing a hoof at her relived brother. "Now, who's the lucky bride hm? I've actually never heard of a Princess called Mi-Amore Cadenza"
"Did somepony say my name? I swear I head somepony around here.."
A pink alicorn peered around the corner around the war rooms tower. Her mane was perfectly groomed up to standards. Purple, pink and yellow striped ran through her mane and tail, the bottom of her hair curled to not touch the floor. She wore a golden crown and chest plate, the crown containing 2 amethysts that stood out behind her horn.
Two violet eyes met two purple ones, all standing there in silence.
Twilight, who was trying to calm herself down, was now pale. The buzzing became even louder now, making the numbing spell to wore off slightly. She twigged in pain a little, rubbing her head as the alicorn started to speed walk to the filly.
The lavender unicorn met her eyes with the gleeful princess, keeping her hoof to her head.
"Wait..a-are you..."
