First time writing a story or fanfic so criticism is very welcome. might need someone to help me fix my story. Don't expect much and I will try my best to write this story. I hope you enjoy! 
Chapter 1 The Big Day!
"Never thought I would find myself in Qatar." a young human man grumbles to himself after finally getting of the 6-7 hour flight from England to Qatar, sighing he picks up his baggage before signaling for a taxi. After putting his luggage into the car and giving his destination to the driver he received a call. Not just any call but from a Mr. Roux. Mr. Roux his collogue his teacher, friend, and one of the most important names in Archaeology. Mr. Roux was a kind old man that took him under his wing in the field of Archaeology, he was a family friend like an uncle to him, and someone that Edward respected deeply. After all he invited Edward to his 'find of the century'.
"Hello uncle Roux?" he cheerfully answered the call.
"Edward my boy! I am so happy to hear from you! Did you have a good ride?"
Shaking his head "It was fine uncle, I cant wait to help you this 'big find' of yours." he chuckled.
he was answered by a hearty laugh. "I cant wait for you to be here. You would not believe what we found!"
"Try me." Edward challenged with a smirk.
"We found a- oh no you cheeky boy, almost making me spill the tea," Mr. Roux laughed. "Nice try I want it to be surprise for you! But on other news. After you grab your supplies at the office we set up in the city you will have to drive yourself to the site you will be given everything you need other than what you packed."
Edward raised an eyebrow at that. "Why alone? I though you would pick me up?"
A tired sigh could be heard from the other side of the phone. "We are low on staff for this project and we need all the vans and trucks here at the moment so you will be going solo but don't worry it is easy to get to our location but you might need to spend the night under the stars."
If there was one thing Edward did not like it was camping which was not to best for someone with a job that spends time in the wild outdoors like him, but his love and thirst for knowledge in Archaeology made it worth it. "I understand uncle I will be there tomorrow."
"Thank you for understanding Edward I hope to see soon!" Edward smiled and hung up the phone. It did not take much time before he was at his destination. Thankfully his off-road van was already prepared by the employees. Loaded with a least a months worth of food which Edward found excessive and supplies and other necessary good for the job. After packing his luggage and work material he set off join his uncle on his big find.
It was a sunny day in Maretime Bay for Sunny Starscout it was not a fun time for the orange earth pony mare. No mam after Sprout a red earth pony stallion, has viciously destroyed her home in an attempt to kill/subdue her friends, and would have made her homeless if Hitch an amber earth pony stallion did not let her stay in his guest room. Hitch was cool like that and was her oldest friend. Shaking her head to focus on the task at hoof, which was her ruined house. Hitch and her friends after the whole fiasco with Sprout and getting all of three tribes their magic back, they offered to help sunny make a new home but right now they had to clear all the rubble.
Izzy Moonbow a purple unicorn mare was ecstatic to practice her new magic which they found could be used to move objects. Along with the pegasi sisters Zipp Storm a white mare and Pipp Peddles a gentle pink mare, the work to move the ruins was relatively fast, Pipp mostly took picture and messed with her phone but did her pert what she was needed.
Helping find whatever they could salvage in the prosses made them all very tired moving big rocks takes work yo and unicorn magic has limits apparently, which Sunny marked down in her notebook. After moving a massive rock from that basically smashed the kitchen thanks to Zipp, Pipp and Hitch. Sunny was able to recover a rug and a few pans.
"Hey what's that?" Izzy pointed to the hatch that was once coved up by the rug.
"I- I dont know?" Sunny sheepishly shrugged. Hitch stepped forward,
"Maybe there is something important down there? Oh! Maybe more stuff that your dad left behind" He smiled to Sunny.
Sunny's face lit up like fireworks. "EEEEEEEE!! Maybe there is more stuff about what happed when all the ponies were united!" She exclaimed.
"That would be so cool!" Pipp added as she took out her iPone and took a selfie and of her and her friends with the hatch adding a caption "Going Down!"
Zipp tried to pull it open with a grown the hatch... did not budge. "Ahh come on! I bet there is really awesome stuff in there!" She cried. Hitch confidently gave it a try "Stand back ladies Sheriff Hitch got this." again it did not budge to which he tried again. and again. Izzy exclaimed. "Ohhhh I want to try!" she giggled. Using her magic she pulled again with little success. With a raspberry Izzy gave up pouting a little peeved by the stubbornness of the hatch. Sunny grabbed the hatch "What if we..." she turned the ring attached to the hatch counterclockwise before opening it. Zipp and Hitch groaned.
"Strong lock." Izzy commented with a giggle. Peering down Sunny saw only darkness with the exception f the first few steps leading down into the void.
"Hey everypony! Me and my best buddies are going down into a spooky mysterious basement! I hope we ca- Hey!" Pipp exclaimed mid livestream as Sunny yoinked her phone to illuminate the path down before carefully making her way down. With each step the old wood groaned in protest. Sunny, Izzy, Hitch, Zipp and Pipp reached the bottom looking around using the light of the phone they were able to find an old lamp and a few candles with some matches on a table at the end of the stairs. Lighting them and each taking one they were able to see a large sized room with chests, books, scrolls, and a large table covered in dust in the center.
"Woooow" Izzy gasped in amazement.
"Well lets hope there is something interesting here." Pipp remarked to her audience on her phone.
"I bet these hold even more knowledge of our past!" Sunny beamed happily trotting over to the books, Hitch and Zipp took tried to open a chest to look inside while Izzy looked around at the books some of the scrolls before setting one down opening it on the table. Reading it carefully she started to realize what she was looking at.
A spell named 'Entono fos' It was a step by step guide to how to preform it, It's explained it was to create a 'light to ward off the darkness'. Izzy read it over before closing her eyes to attempt the spell. Slowly and surely a small light slowly lit up around her horn. Pipp gasped.
"Hey look! Izzy is making light! how cool is that!" she exclaimed to her audience and friends. Hitch, Zipp and Sunny stopped what they were doing to look at Izzy gobsmacked.
"Wow" Hitch and Zipp breathlessly commented.
"Izzy! How does it feel to do that? How did you know how to do that? Ohh your were able to do your first spell!" Sunny rapid fired her questions.
"It feels warm and this scroll told me how to!" Izzy explained to Sunny showing her the scroll. Sunny read it amazed on that there were scrolls on magic not only that she was living under them this whole time! Hitch stepped closer to look at the scroll.
"It doesn't tell you how to zap and read our minds dose it?" he joked.
"Nope!" Izzy chuckled. Hitch noticed something on the table, a pattern. Looking closer he realized what he was looking at he was looking at a map. No not of Maretime bay, not of Bridlewood, not of Zephyr Heights. No. Much bigger something much more impressive.
