Nightmare Night used to be about offering candy to Nightmare Moon so she wouldn't eat you. As innocent as this is, it reflects a former fear. In Maretime Bay, the night has been surrounded by paranoia and superstition, a favorite night for pro-separation activists.

Sunny is seeking shelter from one of her worst fears, even though the pony races are reunified. Perhaps, this night could lead to something better? Or will it be worse than ever before?

Spoilerish: I'm going into uncharted territory here. This isn't the usual kind of story I write, but I wanted to write something for Nightmare Night and the idea I had stretched me a little out of my comfort zone. Sometimes the characters seem a bit different to usual, and this probably isn't what happened, so I'm going to slap an AU tag on to be safe.
