Nightmare Night used to be about offering candy to Nightmare Moon so she wouldn't eat you. But with the alicorns gone, this interpretation has all but died out. In Zephyr Heights, the night has become a night of 'spooky' costumes, 'spookier' stories and, of course, candy.

Pipp is having the worst day ever, and Zipp is having the best, and they're confident there's nothing to fear. As princesses, Surrounded by the guard, even more so. So when a lurking danger approaches, they're blindsided.

Spoilerish: I'm going into uncharted territory here. This isn't the usual kind of story I write, but I wanted to write something for Nightmare Night and the idea I had stretched me a little out of my comfort zone. Sometimes the characters seem a bit different to usual, and this probably isn't what happened, so I'm going to slap an AU tag on to be safe.
