“Blaze!” Rain Sparkle shouted as she ran into her very own study room.
She was a light grey Pegasus with a dark blue mane and tail lined with a white streak and a blue streak. Her cutiemark was a raindrop surrounded by five smaller ones.
Blaze, the red and yellow dragon with purple eyes laid on the ground, dizzy after being hit by the door he had small wings that haven’t seemed to develop making it so he couldn’t fly. He had two pink frills on the side of his head that acted like ears, his body was a yellow while his tummy was white, he had a red frill starting at the top of his head and going all the way to his tail tip.
“Blaze, no time for laying around!” Scolded Rain as she flew high at the shelves looking for a book.
Blaze groaned as he got up, “That didn’t hurt... at all!” He replied with sarcasm.
“Ah ha!” Alerted Rain as she grabbed a book in her hooves.
Rain flew down to the table and flipped through the pages until she found it,
“I knew it! The warnings must be true... on the thousandth year on her banishment, Nightmare Moon will return. We must warn Princess Celestia! Blaze, start a letter!”.
The small dragon sighed as he grabbed a scroll and a quil, he wrote what Rain told him to write.
“Dear Princess Celestia, I inform you of the upcoming disaster, Nightmare Moon is soon to return tonight! I hope you have everything ready for her attack. Your faithful student, Rain Sparkle”.
Once she was one, Blaze rolled the scroll up and sent it away in his fiery breath. He crossed his arms.
“No offence, but I think you’re overacting about this... besides, if it were real wouldn’t the princess already know about her return?” Blaze asked with a bit of concern.
“No! Because I am her best student and she didn’t seem worried at all today! So I have to do what I can!” She shouted at Blaze who scoffed.
He soon blurted our a scroll, Rain was excited as she knew this was from the princess. Blaze una rolled it and cleared his throat.
“Ahem... Dear Rain Sparkle... I have seen, heard and understood all your warning but please! Don’t just focus on some old dusty book, you need to go out and make some new friends!”
Rain gasped in shock at what she heard.

Rain sat in a carriage being pulled by two pegasi guards with a very annoyed expression, her hooves hung over the edge and she road the carriage to some town named Ponyville. She was being sent to take care of and check on the Summer Sun Celebration’s progress and to make friends.
“Well on the bright side, she did find a library tree for you to stay in” Explained Blaze as he enjoyed the view.
Rain did and said nothing for the whole ride, she hated the idea of making friends, especially with the world at a crisis and the princess wasn’t listening to anything she was saying!
Once the carriage landed she jumped off and thanked the pegasi, of course she put on a smile and didn’t say it in a grumpy way as it wasn’t their fault she was here. She looked around wishing she had a map to the small town.
“The princess did say you needed to make friends! And she doesn’t look like a bad start!” Blaze said as he pointed at a unicorn mare skipping along the path.
The mare had a pink coat with white pinto markings and frizzy dark pink hair, her eyes were blue and her cutie mark was a mix of blue and pink confetti. She stopped when she saw Rain right in front of her.
“Uh... hello?” Rain tried to start.
The mare jumped while making an extremely large gasp, she ran away in a hurry. Rain looked at Blaze with annoyance.
“That went so well... I have so many friends...” She said with sarcasm.
“Uh... we can always try again...” Blaze replied a bit sheepishly.

Blaze led Rain to a farm that seemed to harvest citruses called Cool Citrus Acres
“This is really where the food is being prepared?” Groaned Rain.
“Yea! And you might be able to find a new friend!” Blaze proudly shouted.
Rain groaned as she walked to the farm’s enterance, she first saw a light green unicorn mare running around she had a yellow mane and tail with light yellow streaks. She was wearing a dark green bandana around her neck, her cutie mark was a squeezed lemon slice.
“Wahoo!” She exclaimed before noticing Rain and running up to her to shake her hoof, “Howdy there! Ah’m Lemon Squeezy! Welcome to Cool Citrus Arces!”.
“Uh... I was sent by the princess to see how the food is going an-” Rain managed to say before being pulled away by Lemon’s magic.
“You must me new here, allow me to show you mah family!” She said proudly as she sat her at a table.
Food was placed on the table as Lemon called out names of her family. She only caught a few of their names like:
“Lemon Cake, Lime Juice, Sour Drops, Orange Juice, Orange cake!”.
Then Lemon pointed at her younger sister, a yellow filly with am orange mane whose name was Tangerine. Her big brother who was an orange stallion with a green mane, his cutie mark was a lime slice, his name was Big Sour. Then to her granny, a yellow mare with an orange mane named Mandarin.
“Uh huh...” Rain stated, “Well... I must be going now...”.
“Ain’t you gonna stay for brunch?” Asked Tangerine who was making puppy dog eyes with her green eyes.
“Yeah... I’m leaving... sorry?” Rain apologised as she got off the chair.
She saw and heard the whole finish make a huge sad sigh and face, Rain sighed in defeat.
“I’ll take one thing to eat on the way if that makes you happy” She replied.

As Rain and Blaze continued to walk through Ponyville they appreciate how relaxing it was.
“Whoever is in charge of the clouds are doing a very good job” Blaze commented as he spotted a few pegasi remove the remaining clouds.
It was an enjoyable walk, well, until some athletic pony ran into her that caused her to fall into a mud puddle, Blaze laughed but the mysterious pony apologised.
It was a dark orange earth pony mare with a short ruffled mane that went from red to yellow. She had a light yellow blaze marking on her face that stated at the tip of her nose and went to her forehead.
“I didn’t see you there... let me help you up” She laughed as she helped Rain from out the puddle.
“Hmm... let me just” She ran away.
Rain had a look at this mare’s cutiemark, she saw it was a hoofprint on a gold trophy.
“Are you a racer?” Asked Blaze.
After splashing a bucket of water onto Rain that didn’t do much help, the mare got into her hind legs.
“Of course I am! The one and only Sunset Dash!” She exclaimed.
“Wow...” Rain commented, “Well we gotta go!”.
Rain quickly got Blaze onto her back and ran towards the town hall where the decorations were going to be.

“Wow... beautiful!” Blaze commented as the two entered the large building.
There were ribbons, chairs and more decorations.
“Yeah... it’s not bad...” Rain smiled a bit as she looked around.
“No, not the decor! Her!” Blaze exclaimed as he pointed to somepony.
The pony he was pointing to was a light purple pegasus mare with a nearly curled pink mane and tail, her cutiemark were three bows, she was looking through a box taking out ribbons.
“No... no... no...” She commented as she tossed ribbons aside, “Aha!” She squealed in delight.
“Hello... you must be Lavender, I’m Rain and I’m here to check on the progress of the decor”.
Lavender smiled as she turned to face the newcomer but then she gasped in fright. Rain’s mane was wall tangled up and had mud through it.
“Darling! What happened to you?”.
Rain cocked her head, “Oh... you mean my mane?” She asked.
“Darling! We must fix this at once!”.
Lavender grabbed Rain and started running towards a boutique.

Rain stood in front of a mirror all clean and annoyed, for some reason Lavender thought it was necessary to try some outfits on her.
“Too green... too pink... too spiky... too small... too sporty...” She commented until they got to a sparkly saddle, “Now that looks wonderful!” She replied when Rain sighed.
“Thanks for the makeover...” Groaned Rain who noticed Blaze was watching Lavender while love struck, she put him on her back.
“Oh you’re leaving, darling?” Lavender asked.
“Yeah.., I’m busy...” Rain said as she stepped back.
Lavender smiled, “Well, if you ever need a makeover then you can come to me”.
Once out the door Rain took to the sky, Blaze held on tight.
“What are we in a hurry for?” He asked with concern, he didn’t get a reply.

Rain landed in a bush nearby and some birds singing in tune, she took a peek from the bush and saw another pony in front of some birds standing on brunch, she was conducting them.
“Hope this one isn’t so...” Sighed Rain as she got out the bush.
The mare was a light blue colour with a long blue mane with a purple streak her cutie mark was a paw print in the middle of a purple heart. She had light blue sock markings too.
“Excuse me...” Rain said quietly as she approached.
Blaze hid in the bush and watched silently, he noticed a few birds flew away.
“Nice song you have there, what’s your name, mines Rain”.
The mare show looked at her and kicked her hoof nervously.
“River Song...” She whispered.
“Sorry... I didn’t quiet get that...”.
“River S-“ She the gasped when she saw Blaze come out the bush.
She ran towards him knocking over Rain in the process.
“Oh my goodness! A baby dragon! What’s your name?” River Song asked.
Rain got up and started to walk, Blaze got into her back and started to answer the many questions River Song had for him. Soon they parted ways as Rain wanted to explore the town a bit.

The sun started to set while she walked and the celebration was going to start soon so Rain made her way to the place where it was going to take place; the town hall. Once she got inside the pink pinto mare jumped in front of her shouting.
“Surprise!”.
Rain jumped back in shock, Lemon Squeezy, Lavander, River Song and Sunset Dash appeared next to the pink mare.
“My name is Sugar Pop! Were you surprised! Wait- no! It’s obvious you were! Now you have six friends that I gathered up just for you!” Sugar Pop hugged the four ponies at once.
“Uh... yeah... very...” Rain nervously ran into the crowd, Blaze stood there and shrugged.
“Aww... she’s shy” Sugar commented.
Rain at in a corner and avoided any interactions, she hated this day, she waited for the moment. Finally the mayor announced what was going to happen.
“Behind this curtain stands Princess Celestia!”.
Rain smiled, it was the moment she was waiting for, River’s birds tweeted a tune and ponies made excited chatter, the curtain rose revealing nothing! Ponies gasped in shock and confusion.
“Calm down” The mayor hushed, “I’m sure this is a simple reason behind this”.
A dark foggy misty being appeared where the princess was supposed to be, it formed into a black alicorn.
“The reason is me!” It boomed.
Ponies screamed and found places to hide.
Nightmare Moon boasted, “I can see none of you fools know me! None of you read or seen the signs!”.
The alicorn laughed in victory until Rain shouted.
“I know you! The mare of the moon! Nightmare Moon!” She announced proudly as she stood in the middle of the room.
