//-------------------------------------------------------// DEATHBATTLE: Twilight Sparkle VS Link -by DakariKingMykan- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Twilight VS Link //-------------------------------------------------------// Twilight VS Link https://img.youtube.com/vi/XDQLQpEAP3w/mqdefault.jpg Through a series of tapestries, the story unfolded of what happened...! It all started on a fateful day… a day when their paths crossed! The world of Equestria-- a magical world inhabited by ponies, dragons, and other creatures… It was here that the creatures lived under the watchful eye of their princess, while basking in the glories of friendship, peace, and harmony. But then, one fateful day, a man of great and terrible evil from another world invaded the land and began to lay waste to everything in his path. The Princess and her friends rose to arms to combat this evil man with all their might… …But regardless of all their magic, they were unable to so much as phase the being; let alone bring him down… for this man of evil, in spite of his wicked ways and resources, had been blessed with a golden power far beyond the understandings of even the wisest of Equestrians. Then… just as all hope seemed lost for Equestria, there appeared another individual-- a young man clothed in green, hailing from the same realm as the evil one. The hero had also been blessed by the same golden power as the evil one, and-- wielding a magical blade of evil’s bane, he vanquished the evil madman from the Equestrian world. The citizens, however grateful to the stranger-- the pony princess was outraged and humiliated for being shown-up by these strangers, and vowed to regain her honor and satisfaction. And so it was… that the hero and the princess would meet again, and settle the score. In the wide open fields of Canterlot, Princess Twilight Sparkle stood alone. She had strictly ordered that there be no spectators present out of fear of someone else being hurt. Spike tried to advise her to stop this nonsense. “You don’t have to fight. It doesn’t have to be this way.” “I have to.” she insisted “It’s bad enough my honor was sullied that day, but the power of friendship and harmony wasn’t enough-- I can’t stand for it. If other races find out about this, friendship could fail all over Equestrian, and there could be wars, and struggles and disasters from which none will be exempt from. …A ruler of Equestria, I cannot allow this!” All further efforts to convince her not to fight were in vain. She insisted on going through it. Her opponent soon appeared in a bright beam of blue, sacred light. Link landed softly in the fields, and glared at Twilight from afar. “So you decided to show up.” she sneered at him, but the young man did not respond at all. He just continued to glare at her and growl softly. “What’s wrong? Cat’s got your tongue?” mocked Twilight. Link still did not speak, and mere drew the Master Sword, which he used to vanquish the evil Ganon from this world before. His Hylian shield shimmered in the light on his other arm. Twilight glared at him, with her eyes and horn glowing, and her mane and tail flowing madly. “Let’s do this!” she hissed “It’s time to win my honor back, and the honor of friendship.” “Hey!” chirped a tiny voice. A tiny little fairy named Navi fluttered up but Link’s side and addressed the deranged princess. “Listen! You obviously don’t know what you’re getting into here. So why not make it easier and drop this whole “Honor” thing. You have nothing really prove by facing us.” Twilight stubbornly ignored the little being, only caring to avenge the supposed humiliation of the power of friendship, and Link could see he had no choice either, fearing that Twilight was liable to become more insane than ever. …It was time for a DEATH BATTLE!! FIGHT!! https://img.youtube.com/vi/9ltKrDT34kk/mqdefault.jpg Twilight began by unleashing a bombardment of light pulses from her horn, which Link dodged by side-leaping out of the way. He then nodded his head at Navi. “Watch out!” Navi chirped as she buzzed over towards Twilight while glowing yellow, and then she returned to Link quickly relaying him… “Twilight Sparkle: She’s the ruler of Equestria, and seems to hold a grudge against you. She has many magical powers, but perhaps your own wits and resources may be the key to victory.” That was all she could tell him. Link nodded at her in thanks, and then he charged forth roaring viciously. He took a swing with his sword, but Twilight teleported out of sight making him miss. Shen then appeared hovering overhead of him, and began to open fire on him again with magical beams, forcing Link to roll, backflip, and side-leap to avoid each shot, even raising his shield a few times. “You can’t dodge me forever!” shouted Twilight. Link stood tall and firm, gazing at his sword and then back up at Twilight with narrowed eyes, as he was targeting her. Twilight fired another beam, and this time Link swung his sword at the beam, sending it sailing back up towards her. “What?!” yelped Twilight, and she quickly shielded herself with a light-panel. Suddenly, a chain lathered itself around her hind-legs. Link gave one yank with his Longshot, and slammed Twilight hard on the ground. He then sheathed his sword and shield, and whipped out his bow, and shot an arrow straight for her. Twilight quickly teleported again, avoiding it, and she appeared behind Link, giving him a huge head-butting in the back, sending him skidding along the ground. Twilight then levitated him with her magic, and slammed him hard on the ground multiple times, damaging him further. Link growled, and quickly clicked his boots together twice, magically switching to strong Iron Boots, rendering far too heavy for Twilight to levitate, and she lost her grip, allowing Link to get back on his feet and click his regular boots back on. “Oh, yeah…?!” thundered Twilight, “Let’s see you try this!” She used her magic to conjure up a sandstorm of gravel and dirt, and made them all magically clump together into a massive boulder above Link’s head, which she then let go of, and the boulder slammed down on him. “Got’cha!” Twilight hollered, but her boasting was short-lived, for Link struggled immensely actually pushing up on the boulder with his bare hands thanks to his Golden Gauntlets, and he actually threw the giant boulder back towards Twilight, forcing her to teleport out of the way again. When she reappeared, Link has taken aim with his bow, quickly shooting a magical Ice Arrow, striking her horn, encasing it in ice, rendering it temporarily useless. “ARGH!!” groaned Twilight. Then Link fired more arrows, freezing all four of her legs in place as well so she couldn’t move. “Now’s your chance, Link!” hollered Navi. Link drew out his sword and shield and charged for her again to strike. The blade of the Master Sword was shrouded in a magical aura…! “No!!” shouted Twilight and she shut her eyes tight concentrating hard. “Powers of Harmony, aid me in my moment of need!” Her cuitemark, capable of its own magic, began to glow with a big light, melting the ice instantly, and just in time for her to dodge Link’s attack. He turned and glared at Twilight furiously, and Twilight decided to pick it up a notch. With her horn now free, she began to focus on the sun in the sky, harnessing its power and making her glow brightly. Link fired his arrows at her, but the vaporized upon contact, making Twilight laugh at him, “Not this time, pointy-ears!” She then leapt up high, powering up to deliver and extremely powerful blast at him that he wouldn’t be able to dodge. There was only one thing Link knew to do, and he concentrated hard. “Say Goodbye…!” Twilight thundered, and she unleashed a powerful solar beam straight at her opponent resulting in a big explosion that leveled much of the meadows-- charring the grass and flowers, knocking the trees over, and leaving it all dusty and burning. Twilight looked on at a mountain of rubble where Link stood, believing him to be dead by now… until the mountain began to rumble, and the rocks all gave way revealing Link, shrouded in a barrier of Nayryu’s Love. “You have GOT to be kidding me?!” thundered Twilight. “Haw-Haw!” chuckled Navi “You’ll have to do better than that.” Still, Link was starting to look and feel a little tired, but he still had strength to keep going. His barrier went down, but he then pulled out a bottle of a green potion, gulping it all down which restored his magic to full. “This guy’s got a lot more resources than I thought.” thought Twilight. “No matter what, I can’t let him get the best of me. I’ll just have to harness more sunlight.” That’s what she tried to do, but Link was prepared this time and whipped out his Ocarina of Time and played The Sun’s Song. “Hey, what’s happening?!” cried Twilight, and she saw to her incredible astonishment; day had instantly changed to night, moving the sun out of sight. Link glared at Twilight, as if to tell her she was out of luck. Twilight growled. “Pretty neat trick, but I’m going to bring the Sun right back again.” Link’s eyes widened. “Yeah… I can move it too.” Twilight teased, but before she got a chance to concentrate, Link played another tune-- The Song of Storms, summoning forth a thundershower to cover the sky and making impossible for Twilight to see where to aim. The rain also began to make the field muddy and sloshy, and hard for Twilight to move on her feet, but Link’s boots were well equipped to handle the terrain. Twilight had to think fast as Link came charging at her again, so she teleported herself, and Link and Navi to far south, in the badlands, where, though the sky was too smoggy for her to harness sunlight, the lava pits and scaling rocks were boiling hot. Twilight was able to shroud herself in a thin shell of sparkling aura to keep herself safe from the heat, and Navi wasn’t affected by the heat at all. …But Link… “Link, it’s so hot here, you won’t last very long.” cried Navi. Link nodded, and he stood tall and stiff, magically transforming his tunic from green to red, now rendering himself heat and fire-resistant, much to Twilight’s chagrin. “Ah… come on!!” she wailed. Link looked ready for more as he held his sword and shield out. Twilight was still undeterred, and the battle continued. Rather than risk having her magic turned on her again, Twilight used her magic to levitate hot rocks and bits of shale to form of a magical sword of her own, which she wielded with levitation. She and Link charged at one another, their swords clashed and parried one another. Link blocked a blow with his shield, and Twilight dodged his oncoming attacks. The two blades met in a huge struggle, and Twilight teleported out the way, appearing behind Link to strike him, but her rolled out of the way along the hot grounds, and thrust his sword up high, whacking Twilight’s makeshift blade far away. Twilight roared, and rushed forth to attack again. Link stood ready to intercept… when Twilight suddenly cloned herself several times, until there was ten of her, even Navi couldn’t seem to target or identify the real Twilight. Even though all the other Twilights were fakes, they fired real magical beams at Link, damaging him from multiple angles. When Link slashed at one of the fake Twilights, she simple vanished in a puff of smoke, and then rematerialized again. “Nice try… not!” all ten Twilight’s mocked. “How can you strike the real Twilight if you can’t find her?” Link had no worry of that, for his left eye began to glow with a symbol of the Sheikah-- he was using the Lens of Truth, which made it simple to find the real Twilight, but it was still hard to attack her with all the fakes coming at him. Luckily, he had one attack that was sure to work, and he summoned forth Din’s Fire-- a powerful and blazing fire-wall that stretched out and struck all ten Twilight’s vaporising the fakes and hitting the real Twilight hard in a small explosion that knocked her to the ground, causing her protective barrier to start fading and exposing her to the heat. Link was also beginning to look incredibly woozy from being hit so much, and using a huge burst of his magic. Link then reached for another bottle of Blue Potion, which would heal his energy and his magic. “Oh, no you don’t!” shouted Twilight, and she quickly teleported everyone again… …This time, reappearing under the ocean, causing Link’s potion to flop about and he was unable to drink it, or even breathe for that matter, while Twilight had transformed into her Mer-Pony form to help her breathe and fight better in the water. “Link, you can’t breathe underwater!” Navi shouted. Link knew this, and magically changed his tunic again, from red to blue, which would keep him safe and let him breathe. Twilight sighed, “Figures, he could do that too!” Link also clicked on his Iron Boots to steady himself and walk on the seabed, but now he was really at a disadvantage, for he couldn’t move very fast in water, and the only weapons he could use were his sword, shield, and Longshot. “Aw, what’s wrong?” mocked Twilight “Can’t take the water pressure?!” While in her mer-pony forum, she could swim at great speeds, and she tail swatted Link viciously with each pass. Every time Link tried to strike her with his sword, shoot her with his Longshot, or raise his shield to defend, he was too slow because of the water pushing on him. “Too slow!” sneered Twilight, and she fired a special magic beam at him, which he did manage to dodge, and Link realized how much of this he could use to his advantage. He sheathed his sword, but kept his shield up, and magically transformed it. “Huh? What’s that?!” wondered Twilight. The water was too wavy for her to realize Link now possessed a Mirror Shield. Link then fired his Longshot at her, forcing her to swerve, and she proceeded to fire another beam at him, which bounced off the shield’s surface and blasted her hard, up, up, up and out of the water and onto a beach. She transformed back into her normal self and was starting to feel the toll of the battle weighing down on her. “I can’t… keep this up… much longer!” she panted to herself. She knew Link would come up to the surface any moment, and she had to think fast, and began to soar up the summit on the shore. Link leapt up and out of the water, puffing and panting, and looking ready to drop, but still he refused to give in so easily. “Hey!” cried Navi. “Look! There she goes; up the mountain!” Link looked up at Twilight flying towards the top. He growled and began to rush up to the mountain’s steep slope. Luckily, there were small, strong trees growing out of the side of the slope, which allowed Link to use his Longshot to latch onto them and pull himself up and along. Some trees were too far away, forcing him to leap across gaps in the rocks to get to them. This also forced him to snap on his Hover Boots, to help him float over the larger gaps. He finally managed to make it up to the top of the mountain, but he was so exhausted, it was getting hard for him to see straight. He could even feel and hear a slight “Beep-Beep! Beep-Beep!” repeating in his ear, meaning his health was not good. Suddenly, he spotted something before him; a single begonia flower in a lone flower-pot. Navi could sense something unusual about it. “Link! Watch out! That flower is cursed!!” but Link already seemed to be drawn towards the flower, as it were magically calling to him… which it was. Twilight was hiding near the summit, and it was she who had planted the flower there, and cursed it with the attraction spell to keep Link distracted while she powered up, and he wouldn’t strike back or defend himself. Link was suddenly shrouded in pink, sparkling aura, showing he was fully attracted to the flower and hopeless; no matter how much Navi tried to snap him out of it. That’s when Twilight fluttered up. Her body was glowing brightly, ready for one final, thunderous attack! “LINK, WATCH OUT!!” screamed Navi, but it was no use, he couldn’t seem to hear her. Twilight flew up high and took aim… “For Friendship…! For Harmony…!! FOR HONOR…!!” and she fired the biggest, deadliest blast she had, forcing Navi to flee, and watch in horror as Link was blasted hard, and knocked clear off the mountain. Down, down, down he plummeted landing hard on a pile of jagged rocks on the beach below “LINK!!!!” screamed Navi. Twilight landed on the summit, totally out of breath and panting heavily. “I… I did it!” Though she had used up much of her strength and power in that last blast and casting the spell, she managed to teleport down to the beach, where she found the Master Sword driven into the ground by its blade, and Link’s bloody corpse lying speared and mangled on the rock-bed. “No! Link!!” cried Navi as she fluttered over to him. Twilight felt proud, and prepared to dig a grave for her slaughtered opponent… …She didn’t notice a golden glowing coming from Link’s hand, from the Triforce of Courage. But she stopped digging when she heard a strange tingling sound, followed by an even brighter glow. “What’s that?” she wondered. It turned out that Link didn’t store just potions, but Stray Fairy’s from his world in bottles as well, and the little creature was already loose and sprinkling its magic over Link, totally reviving him, restoring his strength back to full, and magically healing all his wounds. Twilight was trembling fretfully, with her eyes and mouth wide open. “…No! It can’t be!!” Link, fully-revitalized, glared at her, and grabbed his sword out of the ground, and with his shield, his regular green tunic, and his normal boots… he struck a battle pose and looked ready to continue. “Looks like you underestimated the power of the Triforce of the Gods.” taunted Navi “…Exactly why you and your friends failed to beat Ganon before.” Infuriated, Twilight refused to let this happen and rushed forth to attack. “I WILL WIN MY HONOR YET!!” She then charged up with little magic she had intending to freeze Link in place… forgetting about his Mirror Shield. Her blast was reflected right back at her and slammed her up hard against the walls of the mountain, binding her in place. Twilight struggled and fussed, but she was far too weak to break her own spell, and then next thing she saw was Link holding the Master Sword up high; its blade was glowing along with the Triforce of Courage. Link then rushed forth, roaring like a strong knight… Twilight screamed in terror… …And…!! WHAAAAAAAAAM!! …Right… through… the heart! Twilight couldn’t even scream from the immense pain that shot through her as her spell ceased, and she slipped down from the wall, collapsing onto the ground. The last thing she could see was Link standing triumphantly, but still glaring pitifully at her. …And she expired. https://img.youtube.com/vi/Koqd4-LrThA/mqdefault.jpg KO!! Twilight was a skilled fighter, and a strong magic user in her own way, but in the end she was just no match against the Master Sword, the Ocarina of Time, or the Triforce, and her own anger and silly lust for vengeance that did her in. Link then approached the corpse of his fallen opponent. “What a sad and pitiful creature.” said Navi. Link nodded in agreement, but rather than leave Twilight to just rot away, he pulled out his fourth and final bottle, which contained yet another stray fairy, which he then poured onto Twilight’s corpse, which fully healed and revitalized her. “I’m… I’m alive?” She couldn’t believe it, but she was fully healed-- all her wounds were gone, and she felt no pain from where she was impaled. She looked up at Link. “Why would you heal me, after everything that just happened?” Link still did not speak to her, and just continued to look at her, instead he handed her a parchment, and then he and Navi disappeared through a portal, heading back to their own world. Twilight sat where she was, frozen in shock, and when she snapped to her senses, she looked at the parchment Link had given her. It read: “I’m not one much of a speaker, especially when I don’t have to, and I know that talking is pointless, but I wrote this to you before our battle, and only was willing to give it to you now.” Twilight was a mix of feeling insulted and confused, but she kept on reading… “It was never my intention to really destroy you, especially since I knew I would win the battle, and it played exactly as I believe it would… -You underestimated my powers and skills… -You attacked me viciously without thinking too much ahead… -You used up all your strength trying to beat me, and I knew I wouldn’t perish, which sealed the deal. You claimed to be fighting in the name of Friendship and Harmony, but you also were fighting for your honor, and judging from your attitude and stubbornness, that seemed to be all you cared much for. As a hero, I know much about Friendship and Harmony myself, as well as honor, and the only reason I fought you was to help you wake up and realize the error of your judgment.” There was more writing on the other side of the parchment… “You were unable to defeat Ganon for the same reasons you couldn’t stop me, but know this… it was never my intention to truly humiliate you, or one-up you. As the Hero of Time, I was merely following my calling: to protect the innocent and defeat the evil, and to bring understanding and hope for all involved. …That’s why I battled you, and I revived you because you didn’t deserve to be killed. I hope that you learn from this experience, and should we meet again someday, perhaps we can be on better understanding of each other. …Until then, farewell –Link.” Two tears fell onto the parchment as Twilight let it fall on the sand, while she bowed her head in shame, shaking with sadness and misery…at herself for getting carried away with her need for honor. “What have I done?” she sobbed. She would need some time to get a hold of herself, and find her strength to learn from this experience and help her in her future, and the future of her kingdom.
