A Twisted Test For Two
Testing Terminated
Previous Chapter"GAAAH!" Hazel shot bolt upright in his bed, sweating bullets. He looked around in confusion for a few moments before he realized he was in his bedroom. What a horrible nightmare he had just had, and yet the details were swiftly leaving his mind. He remembered being unable to move his legs, and he vaguely remembered seeing some pony he had never met before but the rest was fleeting. And yet he had this feeling of dread but he didn't know why. Suddenly his stomach growled angrily, and his eyes widened.
"Cinnamon!" He screamed. He threw himself out of bed and practically flew out the front door. It was still in the very early hours of the morning, the sun had yet to rise and the air was cold and crisp. Hazel barely noticed as he galloped down the street. He knew this street well, he and Cinnamon Twirl had grown up in this neighborhood. He could find his way to her house with his eyes closed. Arriving at the house in question, he pounded the front door impatiently. Come on he thought to himself, please please Celestia please let her be home it was just a dream it was just a dream it was- The door opened, revealing a very frazzled looking Cinnamon Twirl.
"Hazel?" She said groggily, "What are you-!" She suddenly found herself on the receiving end of a tackle hug.
"Thank Celestia!" He cried as he nuzzled her. "You're okay!"
"Yes Hazel I'm... I'm fine." She said somewhat shakily, returning the embrace. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"I had a really really very bad awful nightmare. It was so real, and you... I thought you had..." he shook his head. "It doesn't matter. You're here. It was just a bad dream."
"Funny you should mention that, because uh... I kinda had a nightmare about you too." She said sheepishly.
"... you don't think...?" Hazel started.
He and Cinnamon locked eyes for a moment, before, both agreeing, "Nah. Just a coincidence."

The Fae spirit known as Midnight cackled to herself. "That worked far better than I had hoped. Two minds, twice the terror, and enough power to mask myself from that pesky dream guardian?" She laughed a joyful laugh. "It's a dream come true! Heh."
Her red eyes flashed. "I think I just might be onto something here."
