Hitch walked up the trail to the rebuilt lighthouse. Sunny had already moved back in, and had invited him for the moving in party. He came of to the light house he could see the touches from each of the races. The pegasi had added their tech to the building, The unicorns had added their crystals and style, and the earth ponies had added their own little points of charm to the old building. Sunny's home had become a point of coming together for the three pony tribes, and a monument to their coming together again, and doubtless Sunny loved living in it.
He knocked on the door. "Sunny, I'm here."
"One second," Sunny, called. He could hear her running though the house getting to the door. "Hi, Hitch, I'm glad you made it come in come in I've got something to show you!" She grabbed his hoof and ran to her couch. "Okay okay so you won't believe this but I got this amazing book. From a dragon, a real life dragon! He's huge, easily dwarfing the size of even this light house. The book right almost forgot he gave me this book right and its about his old friends!"
"Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Apple Jack. Right."
"Exactly and-wait how did you know that?" Sunny asked looking at Hitch a little confused.
"Well you got your book from a dragon, I think his names Spike right. I can believe that because this is going to sound weird, but I got my book from the pseudo dimi-god child of Fluttershy and Discord, she lives about a half days walk outside of town with a bunch of kleptomaniac and very bad behaved bunnies."
"You're serious?"
"Hey I didn't doubt you about the dragon did, a little mutual trust to make me feel like I'm not completely insane is really all that I'm asking."
"Right okay, at least I'm not the one sounding crazy."
"Hey what's that supposed to mean, you don't believe me I'll take you there." Sunny giggled at Hitch's over reaction.
"Fine fine I believe you too I guess." Sunny sat down next to Hitch and then pulled out her book. "So, I guess that I don't have to explain what this is, or that dragons exist, but now I want to know if you got one too then who else got one?"
"Look if the others got them then I'll bet everything that Izzy got Pinkie Pie's." Hitch opened the book and pointed out the pink party pony.
"I'm not stupid enough to take that bet. Pipp definitely got Rarity's. Though I wonder whether or not Zipp got Apple Jack's or Rainbow Dash's? And then who has the sixth book?"
"I'm sure we'll get answers to them, soon, but you were saying that the book was talking to you?"
"Right got a bit carried away there." She pulled her book over to them keeping it on the crystal coffee table that had been donated to her from the pegasi royal family. "So you see!" She flipped to the last couple dozen pages. They were all blank, until she got to the one she had written on describing never giving up and seeing beyond the differences. Underneath that there was a strange font.
"That Sunny is a very good and important lesson to learn." Hitch started reading. "I'm glad that not just you learned that lesson but that you managed to teach it to others as well. Sincerely, T.H." He looked at Sunny. "Who's TH?"
"I'm not sure."
"Do you have a quill and ink?" He looked around.
"Yeah here why?" She gave him her dad's favorite pen. "We have pens you know you don't have to use an ink and quill."
"Fine then don't let me be dramatic." He playfully pouted at her. "Now let's see. Hello T.H. Today I learned a valuable lesson, that sometimes what a friend really needs is for you to sit down and just listen to them. Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer. P.S. Who, where, and pardon me asking what are you?" He finished writing.
"Aw look at that I taught you another valuable friendship lesson already."
"Actually that I learned that from Screwball, she had a lot of things to talk about while I was at her place."
"The immortal pseudo dimi-god daughter of Fluttershy, who lives with cute bunnies?" She gave him a playful smile.
"It sounds crazy when you say it like that."
"Well if the horse shoe fits."
"Very funny Sunny, Miss I met a dragon larger than the lighthouse. I guess we can be crazy together right?" He laughed. "Wait look." He pointed to the book as the page glowed a soft gold as a line of text appeared in the same strange font. The both read it.
Hello Hitch that is a good lesson to learn, and I'm really glad that you were there for Screwball she's a very old friend of mine, and she's having a bit of a rough patch right now after having to give up her mother's book. I think you should pay her another visit soon, I would but sadly I am a bit rooted in place. As for who, where, and what I am, well you have all already met me, not officially though, you walked past me on the path from Zephyr to Bridle Wood. They looked at the last three words in near disbelief. "Well do you believe me now that Screwball is real?"
"You realize we're talking to the Tree of Harmony right?"
"Well yeah, we're talking to a tree part and parcel of what life is like with Sunny."
"Not just a tree the Tree. The tree that Twilight got the Elements of Harmony from. The tree that their student's found then the next generation after them!"
"I know I just like watching you get worked up about it. We're telling Izzy and the others right?"
"Absolutely YES! Let's go right now!"
"Alright lead the way." He followed her out of her house heading to town to get supplies for their trip.
