Sunset was hired to intercept a convoy en route from the Sparkle Family to Canterlot. Only, she didn't know that the convoy wasn't one of trade, it was to escort an important mare. Twilight Sparkle herself, the heiress of the Sparkle Family.

However, as Sunset struggles to keep Twilight in check as she delivers the mare to her employers, the two develop a bond between them. Twilight starts to warm to the mercenary, and Sunset can't believe she could actually stand the scholar.

Before Sunset manages to deliver Twilight to her employers, news arrive. Canterlot had been taken over by two dark alicorns, and they were starting to subjugate the rest of Equestria.

Sunset and Twilight must figure out how to work together, or die. For the two new alicorn rulers have ordered the capture of all dangerous mercenaries, and the top mages of the country. Has the large bounty for them been mentioned yet?
