When Sunset Shimmer escapes Equestria through the mirror portal in search of her ambitions, she finds herself in a world very different from her own, a world in which organized crime reigns supreme. In order to survive, Sunset must take on a new identity and form alliances with her classmates if she wants her street gang to compete with the most prolific crime famiglia in Canterlot: the Melodias, led by the father of her high school rival Octavia. The Rainboom gang, under her leadership, quickly gains power, but everything seems to be going downhill after a standard low-stakes mission, leading to the deaths of many of her subordinates and friends. Will Sunset's ambitions be the death of her?

I have technically been working on this story for almost three years. It all started on January 29, 2019, when a group of friends in a Discord server began talking about the Equestria Girls as gangsters, as one of the promotional images (if I'm not mistaken) for the song "I'm On a Yacht". That developed into a discussion about what guns each of the girls would have, and that started growing in my head as a mafia AU.

Edit 12/1/21: Now with a cover image by my friend ssunsxt! Also, at this time the word count I have published is under 29k, so while it may look like I missed the 50k goal, I actually did meet it -- a day early! -- by writing future chapters while I figured out what to do with current chapters.
