MLP: Agents of Harmony Season 2

It had been a long week for Sunset Shimmer and her friends at CHS. Finals were approaching in the coming week with tests to study for, exams to be prepared for, as well as plenty of studying to do. And Sunset happened to be the one who was taking it more seriously than Twilight usually does for once.

After spending the last few days spending 80% of her time studying for her exams, Twilight decided to come over to Sunset’s place for the weekend to spend some time with her, have some study time together with her, as well as discuss some important stuff with Sunset since Twilight could tell Sunset was hiding something that she wanted to find out, what it was, and if it was worrying her.

When they arrived back at her apartment after school that day Twilight’s mother came to stop by shortly after to drop off some stuff for Twilight before leaving to go run some errands and telling her daughter to have a great time with Sunset.

After spending the next three and a half hours going over some studying for their Geometry and Calculus finals to make sure they were well prepared, the two girls decided to call it a day for studying and watch a movie as well as order some take out.

Sunset ordered them some pizza while Twilight selected a movie for them to watch.

After their movie ended two and a half hours later, they noticed how late it was and decided to call it a night as the two girls got ready for bed.

After taking turns showering and then changing into their pajamas, they crawled into Sunset’s bed, and eventually, they both fell right to sleep after their long week of studying for finals.

But not entirely.

Twilight was the only one asleep as she had fallen asleep with Sunset’s arm wrapped around her like a stuffed animal.

Twilight smiled and whispered Sunset’s name a few times while she snored quietly, but Sunset was still wide awake right next to her.

She couldn’t seem to fall asleep because her mind was flowing with lots of stress and thoughts about her future.

After spending forty-five minutes listening to Twilight’s snoring and still couldn’t find a way to fall asleep Sunset decided to get some fresh air to get these stressful thoughts out of her mind.

As she stepped outside onto her patio she felt the cold wind blowing through her hair as she shivered a little before looking around at the many buildings and streets lighting up the night.

She took several deep breaths before she thought to herself what she should do once she graduated from CHS.

She already knew she was gonna stay in this world and continue to return to Equestria to see Princess Celestia and Twilight occasionally for visits and that she wanted to stay mainly because of her friends she’s made as well as her girlfriend, Princess Twilight’s counterpart often called Sci Twi to not get the two of them mixed up.

But when thinking about continuing to be with Twilight, Sunset was worried about what if something happens and they end up breaking up and she’d be alone again like how it was for her after the Fall Formal a year and a half prior. Or what if she ran into her human counterpart and Twilight ends up loving her and Sunset starts to feel left out since she isn’t from this world.

And lastly, Sunset hadn’t given much thought to what she wanted to have a career in once she started college.

She did love making art and painting but she wasn’t sure she’d succeed doing that. She enjoys video games and even though she’d try becoming a video game designer by working for a selected company. But it sounded even more complicated.

“What do I do with my future? I-I don’t even know what career I want to major in or what to do. I never thought my life would change after coming to this place. I don’t even know if Twilight can even help me with this.”

At this point, Sunset was just lost in her thoughts and wasn’t sure what to do at all with her future.

She soon felt a tear come down her face before she eventually released a flood of tears.

Twilight awoke to the sound of someone crying before noticing Sunset was missing on the opposite side of the bed.

She then spotted the door to Sunset’s patio was wide open and could hear Sunset and was able to tell that she was crying.

After grabbing her glasses and slippers, Twilight soon proceeds to Sunset’s patio to help calm her down.

When she stepped onto the patio, Sunset didn’t even hear or notice her until Twilight placed her arm on Sunset’s shoulder.

“Sunset, what’s the matter? Are you ok?”

“Sniff I’m fine Twilight. I just had a bad dream and I couldn’t sleep, that's all.”

But Twilight could tell Sunset was lying.

“Sunset Shimmer, I know you're lying to me.”

“No, I’m not, it’s the truth.”

“Sunset, whenever you lie your left eye twitches 3 times. And that’s when I can tell that you're hiding something from me.”

Sunset soon realized that she needed to share these thoughts now more than ever now so Twilight won’t continue to ask her what’s making her feel this way.

“Alright, Twilight you got me. The reason I’m out here and crying is that I’m...”

“Your what?”

“I’m worried about my future. With the seven of us graduating in less than two weeks from now I’m scared for what my future will be like with the changes and not seeing our friends all the time since they’re all going to different colleges. But for me, I still don’t even know what I want to pursue a career in, or where I should go.”

Twilight could tell this must have been what Sunset was hiding from her and their friends, and it was worse than she thought it would be.

“I know how you feel, Sunset. I’m scared too. But there are times in our lives we have to deal with these changes whether we like it or not. Sometimes the sacrifices we make will turn out not so bad after all.”

“But this is all new to me, Twilight. I spent many years as a student for Princess Celestia before I came here and became a bully before I turned into that demon and soon became one of the most hated students at CHS. I also can’t stop thinking about what might happen if we ever meet my counterpart as well. It worries me that you might fall in love with her and love her more than me.”

Sunset soon started to cry again before Twilight grabbed ahold of her as Sunset was soon startled by Twilight.

“Sunset Shimmer, look at me! LOOK AT ME!”

Sunset soon did so as she stopped her crying as Twilight had gotten her attention.

“I’d never leave you Sunset. You’ve helped me so much since the Friendship Games and I just don’t want to leave you at all. You have no family left, you don’t have many places to go other than your apartment and Equestria, and there’s no one out there that can replace the Sunset I love very much” Twilight replied as she wiped a tear-off Sunset’s face.

“Yo-you really mean it Twilight?”

“Yes Sunset, all of it. You mean everything to me, which is why I’m gonna help you with finding your new career for your future. You're gonna need all the help you’ll need if you want to find that goal you want in life. Because in my heart, I know you’ll find it.”

“But, it’s my future, shouldn’t I try doing this on my own as I should?”

“Everyone needs help when they need it, Sunset. And right now, I think you need some.”

Sunset smiled happily at Twilight before hugging her in the process.

Twilight soon stroked Sunset’s hair as Sunset decided to release the last of her tears to get it all out of her system before she started to hiccup from all the crying.

“Come on, let’s go inside. It’s late and it’s getting quite chilly out here. We have another day ahead of us coming.”

“Ok Twilight.”

Twilight smiled happily at Sunset as she led a sleepy Sunset back inside with the stars twinkling above them.

After getting back into bed Sunset still looked a bit upset before she felt Twilight’s arm wrapping around her shoulder.

“So, the main reason you wanted to be with me this weekend was that I was worrying you?”

“Mhm. I could tell something was worrying you and I wasn’t surprised at all that it involved your future and a career to choose. My brother felt the same when he was getting close to finishing high school himself when I was younger.”

“He did? How did your family handle it?”

“Well, he gave it some time to think it over before he decided to do a career as a police officer. He was proud of his decision and it was all thanks to him telling me and my parents first before he started college.”

“That explains why you knew I was worried about something.”

“Yep, that and I do care about you Sunset. A lot. You're the only person I’ve ever felt such a connection with these last few years. And I don’t ever want to leave you. Especially since you don’t have any family left. I don’t care what many people would say to me that I’m dating you, as long as I’m with you I’ll always be happy. You’re the spark in my heart that’ll never fade away.”

“Neither do I Twi, neither don’t I. I feel the same for the love I have for you.”

They soon smiled at each other before they decided to get some shut-eye as the time was now a little after two in the morning.

As Sunset adjusted herself in her bed a few more of her worried thoughts came back into her mind.

“Twilight, do you think we might ever meet my counterpart? And if so, what should we do when it happens?”

“I wouldn’t worry about that if I were you Sunset. It’s best to take it 1 day at a time, and not worry about it till it happens, alright.”

“Alright then, thanks for helping me Twilight. Sometimes it’s hard to control your stress and emotions. Especially since I’m the Element of Empathy.”

“Everyone needs help in their life sometimes, Sunset. And I will always be here to lend you a hand or hoof when you need it.”

Sunset soon started to feel sleepy and soon within a few seconds had fallen fast asleep.

Twilight soon removed her glasses before she tucked Sunset in more and held her in her arms once more.

She could hear her breathing and it was a sign that their late-night chat had gone well.

“I love you Sunset. Sleep tight.”

And soon enough Twilight was asleep well as she was happy to see Sunset was stress-free now and that their weekend was gonna be just fine.

The next morning Twilight was up bright and early. She decided to make breakfast for Sunset as she made it in Sunset’s kitchen doing her best not to wake her girlfriend up.

A few minutes later Sunset awoke to the smell of scrambled eggs and toast until she spotted Twilight walking up the steps to her bed with a tray in her hands.

“Morning Sunset. Hungry?”

Twilight soon laid the tray on Sunset’s bed with some toast, scrambled eggs, and some orange juice to wash it down.

“What’s with the breakfast? You could have waited until I got up to make it?”

“Well, it’s basically just because you deserve a day of relaxation Sunset. You’ve been working really hard lately for finals next week, and I think you deserve a day off from studying.”

“But aren’t you the one who would not want to and rather study more?”

“Well yes, but we all need it from time to time, and I think you need it the most” Twilight replied as she kissed Sunset before she got a blush from her in return.

“Thank you Twilight. It means alot.”

“Of course, now why don’t you get started on your breakfast before it gets cold. I hope you like it.”

Thanks, Twilight” Sunset said as she took a bite of her toast.

Twilight soon then proceeded to head back down to the kitchen to make herself some breakfast before she felt her arm being pulled away and Sunset bringing her back to bed.

“Sunset? What’s wrong?”

“Is it alright if we can, maybe just stay here for now and then head out later?”

“Whatever you want Sunset.”

Sunset soon started to cry again but this time it was happy tears as Twilight brought her up for another hug as she smelled Sunset’s hair that had a hint of cinnamon in it.

“Thank you Twilight. I love you.”

“I love you too Sunset.”
