Canterlot is a city of wonder and majesty, its citzens comfortable and proud, its aristocrats wealthy and influential, and its position in the world one of heightened importance. Life there is simply marvelous, as anypony who lives there will confirm with the utmost enthusiasm. Where else in the world could anypony expect to live the joys and brilliance of the capitol? All anyone needs to do is to take a look at the married couples, bachelors, and bachelorettes as they go about their merry lives to see that it is truly the best place in the world. What could possibly be wrong?

Under the facade of lofty pride, an ugly reality bubbles within the mountain city. Twilight Velvet knows herself, if nopony else, and she knows there's something missing.
