Mr. and Mrs. Cake desperately want children, but they have been unsuccessful in their attempts at having them. They hope that if they had kids they'd get extra help around Sugarcube Corner and someone to take over the shop when they're gone, but there are no signs of having children yet. Stress around the workplace and too much work have left their ten-year marriage without passion. Mrs. Cake, knowing this, gets herself into a tangle that eventually the couple resolves to work out, although it was quite the doozy.
