Check herself over, Twilgiht had neither scratch nor bruise, nor flames dancing over her crystalizing coat, just normal her, and teh supplies used, gone.
Anotehr failure with...an interesting ending.
Levitating a nearby quill and notepad, Twilight noted that ntohing happened, but due to her suspicions, she would keep this logged.
"Nothing good ever comes out of a failure, even nothing at all."
Setting downt eh piece of paper, she checked the clock as it chimed at her angrily, as if tryign to point out the late time.
With a sigh, she pulled the weights down, allowing the clock to run a few more days before she needed to pull them again.
A weight driven clock, plus chimes, plus the beautiufl case, all fitting on the wall. An addition that hasn't been there for more than a month, the clock having been found in a pile of old junk that a mare was throwing out of her house.
The clock, along with an old, and refurbished, solid wood desk, were what Twilight found, and had placed in the base floor of the library.
Sighign again, Twilight yawned, then made her way up the stairs into her room, and into bed, covers crawling over her till her snout was uncovered only.
In the winter days, it got cold in the library, especially since you couldn't have a fire, and sitting out in the breath freezing cold, working, made her only shiver heavily as the warmth began to take Twilight into wonderful sleep.
Pain...nausea...hunger...All of which Twilight could feel, but did not register in ehr mind. It continued in order.
Pain...nausea...hunger...craving?
Opening her eyes, they felt like chalk tasted. Dry, tart, and very, very powdery.
The light still hadn't even peaked over the trees, much less, the horizon, yet. A small craving gettign Twilight up in the middle of the night. Dismissing the fact that it was too early to get up, she removed herself from her bed anyway, the chill of the night gripping her quickly. She tensed up, then, levitating her blanket off her bed, wrapped it around her, keeping her mostly warm, except for her hooves, and head.
The trip downt eh stairs to the kitchen was quick, and indifferent. Nothing new.
The kitchen light was already on, the purple dragon caught red handed with the tub of ice cream, and the spoon in his mouth.
He was frozen, staring at the purple mare as she walked sleepy eyed from the doorway, to the fridge.
Opening the metal door, Twilight picked out the jug of apple cider she ahd nto touched yet, and took the cap off, levitating it to herself.
The thick, sweet cider filled her mouth, and, takign big gulps, quickly down the entire gallon within less than a minute, not stopping, not taking a breath.
She looked at the jug, empty, then tossed it in the trash, and, cravign satisfied, she turned around, walked back to ehr room, where she went back to sleep.
Spike swallowed the ice cream which melted in his mouth, and put the spoon int eh sink, tub of ice cream back int eh freezer.
Watching the doorway, he turned off the light, then ran out, and back upstairs.
Twilight woke up uncomfortably to the pain of pressure sitting in her lower stomach.
Nature's call.
In this case, Twilight felt like a ten centimeter wide ball of metal was sitting in her bladder, and that wasn't too good. Throwing the covers off, she hurried into the bathroom, a sigh of relief humming through the door.
Exiting the small bathroom, the toilet flushed on it's own, magic at work.
Twilight noticed two things at that time.
One, the sun was fitlerignt hrough the leaves, indicating that it was noon, and no longer morning.
I'll have Spike's tail for this..., she thought, but quickly dismissed that as somethign else caught her eye.
Her vanity mirror, which Rarity had gotten her about a month ago, half covered in dust, sat in the corner, staring at her, and showing what it saw. A reflection of ehr, which Twilight did not at all recognize for the most part.
Granted, teh usual, morning mane, and messed up tail hair, were just...average, but...there was soemthing new.
At this point, she was lookign at it directly. She could see only her front, and that meant two thigns to her ituation.
One, it could just be an illusion, and her suddenly risen suspicion could jsut be paranoia from the spell mishap.
Two...this could mean a very, very uncomfortable situation.
Approaching the mirror, the difference it made gettign clsoer eased her slightly, but...then she turned.
Her heart would liked to have dropped low, or brust straight from her chest, and with every hard thud, Twilight thought it would.
There, in the mirror, was an exact replica of her, but, her belly.
Swollen. Round. Full. Whatever you'd like to call it, this was something that Twilight had seen only a few times before.
Every few months, a mare would walk in, belly the same. Even in books, Twilight had seen this.
"But...Impossible!"
She panicked, then stopped, thinkingback to the night before, recallign the form of magic she was using.Then it hit her.
Out of her excitement to get a new spell working, she had failed, and that spell was originally meant to create a long lost toy.
Though, she remembered some of the procedures from an old spell she saw a logn time ago.
Pulling the entire section of books from her personal shelf, Twilight opened each book, and flitted through, finding it int he last book, which only worsened the fear she had.
Reading quickly, and in plain letters, the spell stated was the exact one she was puttign together, unknowingly, last night.
Though, she skipped a step. That's why she failed. And with failuer, the spell still took effect.
Pregnancy acceleration.
But she wasn't pregnant.
"Oh, Celestia, this is going to be something painfully new..."
As if making her point, warm fluids ran down her legs quickly, the same as if she could no longer hold it, and wet herself.
Her belly felt lighter, but tighter at the same time, and a contraction racked her midsection, nearly receiving a tear for it.
Twilight tried to fit the books back in place, but not even the first could make it to the shelf before her magic faultered.
She just elt go, and concentrated, the scenery around her changing to the dull, clean environment of a hospital.
Two mares were spooked, not including the one behind the desk. Receiving two screams and a question, Twiligth answered.
"I need...nurse Tenderheart...now!"
"Oh dear!", the receptionist exclaimed, horn glowing.
Not even a few seconds later, Twilight was put in a hospital bed, and three matres rolled her into the next room.
