My Little Nightmare: Sleep is Tragic
In the beginning, the beginning of all, what was there?
There was energy, the smallest spark of a flame that would ignite the universe and birth it into being. But with this energy there came something else; the lack of it. If there is a something there must always be a nothing, with everything that is there is always something that is not. Everything has an opposite, an antithesis to everything thesis. With energy and photons bursting across the universe, primordial laws being decided and forces created, there had to be concepts to describe the lack of what most beings came to assume was natural.
What is the cold but the lack of heat?
What is darkness but the absence of light?
What is stillness but the faltering of motion?
What is void but the vanishing of mass?
What is evil but the destruction of good?
What is death but the end of life?
What is a Nightmare but the failure of a Dream?
How interesting it is then that these concepts of nothingness could take on faces and forms and minds just as those of the something had. How paradoxical that things of something could represent the absolute of nothing. Just as there exists a being of Dreams does there exist a being of Nightmares.
What happens when two perfectly equal and yet exactly opposite forces collide with one another?
We shall see, won't we?
