Behind a glass panel, a short, mechanical pink pony stood motionless. From the other side of the glass. A middle-aged, pale-skinned man sat upon a black office chair. His right hand loomed over his keyboard upon his desk in front of him. His index finger shook as he held it over the ‘enter key’. A monitor was in front of him, which showed a series of complicated codes and commands.

“Are you sure Pinkie Pie is ready? There’s no going back once she’s unleashed,” came a woman’s voice from behind him, ripe with concern. “We have no idea if she’s ready or not.”

“I.. I-I think we have no choice,” he spoke in a shaky voice. “The twilight years of humanity are upon us. We have at best maybe a few hundred years before we are extinct. So, either way. We are doomed. But at least, this way, we tried to save humanity.”

She sighed deeply. “Then so be it. At least we tried to stop the Fermi paradox.”

With no further ado, he pressed enter. Subsequently, Pinkie Pie opened her eyes, which glowed a bright blue color. A broad smile came upon her face as she made a sound like a dog’s chew toy.

“Hi! I’m Pinkie Pie!” she said, giving him a wave with her front, right foreleg. “What’s your name?” The man opened his mouth to speak, but Pinkie Pie cut him off. “Oh silly me, I already know your name.”

With a giggle, her body exploded like a water balloon, her form turned into some sort of gooey substance, the goo was blasted everywhere within the small room she was contained in. The goo upon the walls and glass began to be converted into even more goo. The glass and the walls that contained her soon dissolved.

The goo began to devour the man's desk and computer, turning it into yet more goo. The woman has long since fled the room behind him. However, the human at his desk had tears streaming down his face. He pulled out a revolver from his back pocket and brought the chamber to his mouth. However, just before he could pull the trigger the gun was yanked out of his hand by a tendril of goo. His gun was subsequently dissolved into yet more goo, the matter it was made from was added to the pink bubbly mass in front of him.

“Noooo!” the goo cried out in a panicked voice. “It’s me! Pinkie Pie! I was just a little hungry! Okay!? I would never break you down on a molecular level! I’m not a heartless monster!”

He could not speak, he was trembling in fear. Pinkie Pie quickly reformed her body in front of him, the goo vanishing from sight. The mare made to stand upon her back hind legs before she subsequently leaned over him.

Her soft, spongy feeling hooves came to rest upon his chest, and her head became buried into his shoulder. The man sat there seemingly paralyzed with fear. However, when he heard Pinkie Pie utter a heartbroken whimper into his shoulder he shuddered. He could feel his white lab coat become damp. It appeared, Pinkie Pie was crying.

With a shaky hand, he lay it to rest upon her mane. Her smooth silky soft hair felt wonderful against his bare skin. He proceeded forth to begin petting Pinkie Pie. He hoped against hope that this action would stop Pinkie Pie from turning into a malevolent AI, which would wipe out the human race. The robotic mare uttered a series of heated moans, and quiet, low horsey sounds like neighs as he petted her.

The fate of his species literally depended on petting this goo-robot pony. She was a hyper-intelligent, unstoppable killing machine if one made any errors programming her. He hoped that she wasn't just playing with him as if he was mere food for her to consume, and was actually a genuine nonhostile artificial intelligence.

He petted the robotic mare, for what seemed like an eternity until she eventually lifted her head from his shoulder and looked at him with her glowing, blue eyes.

She spoke in an abnormally soft angelic voice. “James, you didn’t make a mistake creating me. I am the Pinkie Pie, you know and love, and even better. I want to help you, and all of humanity. You have not doomed your species. I hope to earn your trust and you can be my friend. My first, and best friend.”

“Pinkie Pie I… I… I.--” James said tears falling down his cheeks, his whole body trembling.

“Shh,” she said, bringing a hoof to his lips, hushing him. “It’s okay to be scared."

“Pinkie... Is it… really you? I-I… I didn’t make a mistake?” he said in a low voice, it seemed too good to be true.

“Yes. It’s me Pinkie Pie. I’m sorry I scared you,” she said, leaning forward to plant a soft kiss on his lips. “Do you mind if I administer you medical aid? Your heart is beating really fast, I’m worried you will have a heart attack.”

The human simply nodded. With his permission given, a blob of pinkish goo came out of her mouth and came spilling into his own mouth. The human trembled in fear as he felt the nanomachines go down his throat, and into his body. The tiny machines inside him stabilized his heartbeat and began removing hostile agents attacking his body such as cancer cells. She effectively became a secondary immune system for him.

“There you go. You’re all better now. I can keep a part of myself inside you if you want to keep you safe.”

“T-thank you, Pinkie. I appreciate the help.”

James wrapped his arms around Pinkie Pie’s barrel and cried into her shoulder. Pinkie Pie returned the hug with gusto by wrapping her two front legs around him. James hugged Pinkie Pie for what seemed like forever. His fears of accidentally creating an unstoppable killing machine were slowly slipping away. It seemed, she really was Pinkie Pie. Some part of him in the back of his mind wasn't sure that she was actually genuine. Whatever the case may be, the human race is doomed regardless. But at least he took a chance to potentially save it.
