Once in a Blue Moon

Prologue

I tossed and turned in my bed trying to shake this nagging feeling that I couldn't quite place. Its been at least a week since the summer sun celebration which I didn't go to. Why would I? I've seen hundreds of them and they were all the same. “sigh”, sighing in defeat I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom as I walked in I turned towards the mirror praying to see something, ANYTHING, different, but what I saw was the same pony looking back a dark blue coat, almost black, a sky blue mane. I look like a colt in his prime and maybe the only part of my body I didn't mind that stayed the same, my Cutie Mark, it is a full moon with a telescope pointing towards it. Not just any moon, but, a blue moon. An event that only happened once every hundred years.

“Looking good”

I leave the bathroom, headed for the front door.

“Maybe some fresh air will help.”

Opening the door and walking out I felt the crisp night air brush against my coat not even bothering to look up at the night sky knowing it wasn't the same. It hasn't been the same since she left...........

After spending a good couple hours outside I head back towards my door, but as I turned my head I caught a glimpse of the sky and my head snapped straight up to see the most magnificent sight i had seen in a thousand years in the sky was the biggest full moon, but that wasn't what caught my eye it was the stars. Every star in the correct place, shining like a miniature sun even the constellations were where they're supposed to be.

I stood there staring at the night sky, not realizing the moon was seeking lower and lower. As the sun peeked over the horizon I woke from my trance.

“I have to contact Meteor Shower right away.”
