"BEEP BEEP BEEP." “UGH shut the buck up, can't a colt get some sleep around here?” I trudge slowly out of my bedroom when I remembered I hadn't even started on my letter to Meteor Shower so I sat down at my desk and pulled of my quill and paper. Dear Meteor Shower last night I made a discovery and I must speak with you right away signed, Blue Moon “Their now i just have to......." "KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK" Ha perfect timing” Getting up and heading towards the door, I rolled up the scroll to give to the only person I could trust it with. Opening the door I can't help but smile at one of the few ponies I consider a friend. “Hi there Ditzy, perfect timing, I need a scroll delivered." I say to the crossed eyed mare. “Hi there Bluey, sure thing, but first here's your mail.” she says slightly muffled with all the papers and envelopes in her mouth. “Thanks Ditzy.” I throw the mail on the table. “Oh! I almost forgot, it's two bits for a scroll delivery.” “O alright, give me a sec.” I head back into the house for her bits and a muffin. “Here Ditzy.” I hoofed her the bits, “Oh, and here's a muffin. I know they're your favorite.” “Oh! Thank you, thank you. I really REALLY love muffins.” She says, snatching the muffin out of my hand and devouring it in mere moments. “Your welcome Ditzy, but I really need that letter delivered ASAP.” “I'm on it, and thanks again for the muffin.” She says as she flies away. I can't help but chuckle at that looneys mares antics, but I soon realized it would be awhile before meteor even got my letter. So I had at least a couple hours of free time, with it being my day off. “GRUGGGGGG” (I'm not good at noises that is supposed to be a stomach growl) “Well, that solves one problem.” I headed for the kitchen. Just as I open the fridge door I come to a stunning realization that I have no food. “Oh for Celestia sake!” Slamming the fridge door in anger. It wasn't that much of a big deal to get food, but that isn't the problem. It is all the ponies in the middle of town. While Ditzy and Meteor shower are my friends, they are pretty much the only ones. It's not that I don't like any pony, it's just I have learned over the years not to get too attached to too many ponies. It's better for everypony that way. “Sigh” Seeing no other option I grab my saddle bag and bits. “Might as well get this over with.” After a long fly, I finally make it to Ponyville. “I guess this is the price I pay for living so far from Ponyville.” Landing in the middle of town I set off for supplies, remembering that I've only been to Ponyville a couple of times, and only for food and the occasional quill. “Ok. Just got to do this fast and then I'm back home.” As I said those last words a very loud gasp could be heard. I turned around to a pink blur with a triple balloon cutie mark sprint off in the other direction. “Sigh. I have a feeling this is not going to end well.” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Two Chapter 2 After a couple of hours of walking I had most of my groceries and I hadn't seen that pink mare anywhere “Ok only one more thing on the list......... Apples” I say pulling out my shopping list I walked around looking for the apple cart for what seemed like hours, but to no avail thats when I stumbled across a new building in ponyville “Huh............what's this” I read the sign in front the building “Ponyville library” “Huh? How long has this been here 've never seen it before?” seeing as i couldn't find the apple cart I stepped inside the new establishment. walking in all I see is walls and walls of books and a big table in the middle, but there didn't seem to be any pony even there “Hello anypony there” I say seeing if anypony was in the back or something “YEAH YEAH I'LL BE RIGHT THERE JUST GIVE ME A MINUTE” says somepony from upstairs I turned my head to see who this mystery pony was, but it wasn't a pony not even close it was a dragon a very small purple and green dragon walking down the stairs “Oh............ hi there” says the little dragon “Hi I was just che...........” just then I got cut off by another yelling voice from upstairs “SPIKE WHOS AT THE DOOR” just then another pony walks down the stairs and this time it WAS a pony a unicorn with a purple coat and purple mane with a streak of pink going through it and a six star cutie mark “Oh.........hi there welcome to the library how may I help you” she says with a sheeps grin “like I was saying to um sorry what was your name” I say to the little dragon “Spike my name is Spike and thats Twilight Sparkle” he says pointing to the mare “Like I was saying to Spike I was just coming to check out the new library Ms.Sparkle” I say to the mare. “Oh please just twilight will be fine, but i have to say i've been here for a week and I haven't seen you around town before are you new to town?” she says “Um no i've lived in ponyville for a while i just live on the outskirts of town” I say rubbing the back of my neck. “Oh why do you live on the outskirts of towns?” she asks “If you don't mind I have to go I just came to check out the new library” I say edging my way towards the door I didn't know this mare well enough to tell her way and I didn't want to I have enough friends with just Ditzy and Meteor shower “Oh ok have a good day” she says eyeing you down suspiciously “Yeah it was nice meeting you Twilight, but like I said I really have to go sooooooooo bye” I say backing out the door and walking away “Whew that was a little too close for comfort” I say as I head back in the direction of my house so I could get some sleep -----------------------------------------------------MEANWHILE----------------------------------------------------- “There's something I don't like about that stallion and i’m gonna get to the bottom of it” says Twilight “Oh come on twilight just leave him alone he probably has a good reason for living away from town” says spike as he heads back upstairs for some sleep as well “YAWN Maybe you're right spike, but i'm keeping my eyes on him.............. now lets go to bed it's getting late and you need your sleep you are a baby dragon after all” says twilight as she follows spike upstairs -----------------------------------------------------BACK TO PRESENT-------------------------------------------- After another fly back to my house i was completely exhausted from not only flying, but also lugging back all my groceries i could barely even make it inside “I really got to find a faster way back to my house” i say to myself heading towards my bedroom so i could get some sleep for tomorrow completely ignoring everything else. Oblivious to the huge stack of mail on my coffee table and the one scroll sticking out with the word urgent stuck to it --------------------------------------------------THE NEXT DAY----------------------------------------------- KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK “Seriously can't i get a couple hours of extra sleep for once” I yelled to no one in particular tossing the pillow over my head “Blue are you home i got your letter and i came over here as soon as i woke up” said the voice “Wait thats Meteor shower” Meteor shower was my other friend she was a black coated mare with a purple and blue colored mane and a meteor streaking through the sky as her cutiemark. “HOLD ON I'M COMING” I rushed out of my bedroom getting all tangled up in the blanket and slamming my head into the door SLAM “ MOTHERBUCKER CELESTIA THAT BUCKING HURT” I screamed at the top of my lungs “Blue are you ok” she said through the door No answer “I'm coming in. Stand clear.” She said as she pivoted on her front hooves Before I could say anything the door swung open and slammed into my face YET again “Blue what are you doing on the floor?” “Oh you know just enjoying the nice hard floor. WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED? YOU KICKED THE DOOR IN MY FACE!” I screamed at her still feeling the stinging in my snout. “I said to stand clear.” She said. "Anyway, what are you doing here Meteor?" I said rubbing my still aching snout “Oh! I got your letter, you said you made a discovery or something” she said pulling the letter you sent her yesterday “Also I have something important to tell you” “Cool I have something to tell you to” In unison “PRINCESS LUNA IS BACK” “What how do you know” “Stop doing that” “Ok ok how do you know she is back” said Meteor “I saw the stars the other night and they were just like they were a thousand years ago when she used to place them, but how do you know she is back?” “She showed up at the summer sun celebration, didn't you get my letter?” I looked at the pile of mail on my coffee table zeroing in on the lone scroll I just noticed was sticking out of the pile then it hit me “NIGHTMARE MOON IS BACK WE HAVE TO DO SOMETH.................” “Don't worry celestia changed her back she is back to normal” “Sigh,Thats good to hear” I said letting out a breath I didn't know was holding “Soooooooo what are you going to do now” I smiled at her “Pack your bags Meteor we are heading to canterlot” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Three //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Three Chapter 3 “Are you sure you want to do this?” Meteor asked, looking at me with concern. I was pacing around the room a little nervous it wasn't everyday that somepony just barged right into see the princess, especially without a royal summons. “Yes, I have to talk to Celestia about what to do next.” “Ok, but what are you going to say? Hi princess I was just wondering if you could help me seduce your sister.” she said with a hint of sarcasm “I don't know, but I've known Celestia for a long time surely she can give me SOME advice.” Just then two royal guards walked out “Come with us, you are next to see the princess.” We then followed them down along hallway towards a pair of large oak doors. I gulped. I was really nervous, it wasn't because I was seeing the princess. No, I had known Celestia for hundreds of years. No I was nervous because of the nature of our visit, Luna. I had never told Celestia of my love for her younger sister, and now I was going to walk right up to her and tell her in person. As we walked into the grand meeting hall I couldn't help but feel even more nervous. I looked over to Meteor, but she was too busy staring at all the scenery. She had been to the castle before, heck she has even meet the princess a couple of times, but she was looking around like this was her first visit. We stopped right in front of Celestia's throne and bowed to her. “Hello there my little ponies, I am to understand that this meeting is urgent.” she said in a most regal yet pleasant voice. I raised my head to answer. “ Yes, princess, it is. We must speak with you in um..........private” I said shaking in my horseshoes She gave us a small nod and bid her guards to leave. Once they were gone she started to talk. “Now Blue Moon what is this Urgent business we need to discus?” I laughed nervously. “ Oh you know just catching up, soooooo how have you been? You look really good, have you lost weight.” Celestia eyed me suspiciously. “You seem rather nervous, what is bothering you my friend?” “Oh its nothing in fact it can wait until next time we mee, lets say ohh I don't know like a couple hundred years? Yeah that sounds good” I said heading for the doors. But before I could reach them Meteor jumped in my way “Oh no you don't, we came all this way so you could ask Miss Celestia your question. I'm not letting you back out now.” she said pushing me back into the middle of the room. “Sigh. You're right Meteor, what would I do without you” Getting up I turned to face Celestia. “Ok Celestia I came here to ask about your sister, Princess Luna, and to tell you of my feelings for her” I instantly closed my eyes waiting for the blast of magic that I was sure was going to hit me, but it never came all I heard was laughter I opened my eyes to see Celestia suppressing a giggle. “Is that what this is about? I have known about your infatuation with my sister for a very long time and I am quite surprised that it took you this long to tell me” she said still trying not to laugh. I just sat there with a blank expression on my face trying to comprehend just what was going on, but nothing was coming to me, my brain was fried my oldest secret wasn't even a secret in the first place. “Um Miss Celestia Blue Moon came here to ask for your help at trying to win over Luna’s heart, considering he couldn't do it the first time” Meteor said trying to difuse the situation. Celestia looked at her confused. “What do you mean he couldn't do it the first time? He has never tried asking out my sister.” Now it was Meteors turn to looked confused. “But he told me he tried and she turned him down.” Celestia just looked at me. “Lying to your friend is never a good idea Blue” “Huh, fine I guess I should tell you the truth. I never really tried to ask Luna to be my very special somepony. Every time I got near her I got really shy and hid. In fact I don't even know if she knows who I am.” I said hanging my head in shame. Meteor walked over to me and gave me an angry hug “ Its ok I get what you're saying,” She then proceeded to slap me in the face. “and that's for lying to me!” All I could do was rub my burning face where she had slapped me, I knew I deserved it and I didn't even bother to protest. “Well now that that is out of the way we can proceed, Blue, I am sorry, but I can't help you it will be up to you to win over my sisters heart.” Celestia said apologeticaly. All I could do was look at her. “ I understand princess, come on Meteor we have to head home now. I'm sure the princess has a lot of work to do” Without another word we bid the princess farewell and started our flight home. “Ok Blue, what's going on? Why did we just leave like that, we could have went to Luna or something.” I kept my focus trying my best to ignore her. I really didn't want to talk about this, all I wanted to do was go home, crawl into bed, and stay there. “Hello? Equestria to Blue are you even listening to me?” I couldn't take it any more I flew straight for my house leaving Meteor behind. I still couldn't face Luna, even the idea of doing so got me all shy and scared. I landed in front of my house and ran inside, locking the door behind me to make sure Meteor didn't follow. I didn't want to talk to her, not now. I knew all she would do was try and get me to go back to canterlot and talk to Luna. “Blue let me in. We have to go back so you can talk to the princess! You need to tell her how you feel” She said through the door. “No Meteor I can't, I'm not going to. Not right now, no, just give me some time ok?” “Sigh” “Ok Blue I will give you some time, but we will go back to canterlot and you will talk to Luna.” She said with emphasis on the word will. “Ok.” “I got to go Blue, it's getting late. I'll see you in a couple of days. Try to get out or something, you spend all of your time in your house.” She then started walking off. I stood there in the dark contemplating what I should do. I couldn't just hideout, Meteor would come back and drag me back to canterlot. I sat there thinking before I finally went to bed. --------------------------------------------------THE NEXT DAY-------------------------------------------------- I was still laying in my bed. I couldn't get to sleep, there was still too much on my mind. I just lay there until fate decided to play a cruel trick. GRUGGGG (Again not good with sounds its a stomach growl) I realized I hadn't eaten since yesterday. I got out of bed and made my way out to the kitchen, but when I got there nothing looked good, but then I remembered back in town there was a big building that looked like gingerbread, it looked like a bakery. I looked down at my stomach with pleading eyes. “Are you really that hungry?” GRUGGGG “Sigh” “Fine” And so I set out to find this bakery even though I really didn't want to leave my house. When I got to ponyville I wasn't happy, in fact I was down right mad. I didn't want to be in this town, it was too happy and colorful for me to handle right now. All around I saw ponies with smiling faces and it made my blood boil. Never-the-less I had to get my food and get out as fast as possible, or at least before I snapped at some pony and attracted too much attention . I finally found the bakery, or should I say "Sugar Cube Corner" as the sign said on the front. To my surprise the building was made out of actual gingerbread and smelled amazing. “Ok just got to go in, buy some cupcakes and then its back to the house” As I entered the building I noticed it was kind of packed with different ponies trying to buy their own treats and other delicious goodies. I made my way to the front of the crowd so I could by my food, but when I got there there was no one at the counter, not a single pony. “Um hello is anypony there?” I looked behind the counter and nopony was there then I turned around to the same pink mare that ran away from me the other day, but this time she wasn't running no this time she was talking really REALLY fast I only caught part of what she was saying it was something like “himynameispinkiepiewhatsyoursohyoumustbenewintowncauseiveneverseenyubeforeandiknoweveryponyinponyvilleandwhenisayeveryponyimeanEVERYPONY” After that I couldn't take it anymore. All the happy, all the smiles, while I was wallowing in my own depression. It was too much. “SHUT UP! Just shut up all I wanted to do was buy a couple of cupcakes and be on my way, is that too much to ask?!” I let it all out all my depression, all of my anger from these last couple days on this one mare, This mare that I didn't even know. She looked at me with tear filled eyes before running outside, I could hear her sobs as she ran and all I felt was guilt. I walked out of Sugar Cube Corner getting glares and dirty looks from all the ponies that saw and heard me yell at her. All I wanted to do was go home and hide, hide forever, but before I could I was tackled by a strange blue blur. “HEY WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE YELLING AT PINKIE PIE LIKE THAT HUH” “….” “WELL ARE YOU GONNA ANSWER ME OR DO I HAVE TO BEAT THE ANSWER OUT OF YOU” She raised her hoof getting ready to strike, but before she could she was enveloped in a purple aroma and pulled back. “Rainbow stop. Get off of him” It was the same mare from the library. Twilight she was holding the rainbow maned mare in the air with her magic. Then she saw me and her expression changed from one of shock to one of confused anger. “Ok who are you and what did you do to make Rainbow this mad at you?” She said stomping her hoof, releasing the mare from her grasp. “He yelled at pinkie pie and made her run away crying.” Said the mare who’s name I guess is Rainbow. “He WHAT!!” Now she looked really mad. I got up off the ground and dusted myself off, but before I could speak I was enveloped in the same purple aura and thrust in the face of Twilight. “Ok you have three seconds to tell me who you are, got that?” I could tell she was dead serious, not only by her intense stare, but her magic was starting to tighten around my body. “I will tell after you let me go” It was getting hard to breath now. “Fine” She dropped me with a thud. “Ok my name is Blue moon and I'm sorry for yelling at your friend. I have had a rough couple of days dealing with some personal stuff.” I said rubbing the back of my neck. “THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN YELL AT ANYPONY YOU WANT TO” Ok now this mare was getting on my nerves all her yelling was not helping my mood and neither was this interogation. “Hush Rainbow, now I don't know why you are having a bad time, but Rainbow is right just because you're in a bad mood doesn't mean you can take it out on other ponies." “You don't know what I've been through ok? Now I'm sorry for yelling at your friend, I really am, but just leave me alone” Now I sounded like the biggest jerk on the planet, but right now I didn't care, so far today I have yelled at a mare, been tackled by another mare, questioned by Twilight, and I still never got my damn cupcake. Now both Twilight and Rainbow were pissed at me. I realized I wasn't going to get out of this easily if I wanted to get home I had to calm down and think of a plan and I think I already had one. “HEY GET BACK HERE!!!” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Four //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Four Chapter Four Ok maybe not my best plan, but it was effective nonetheless I had finally ditched the Rainbow mare the bad news I was lost in a town I knew nothing about with a rage induced mare after me yeah what a great start to a great day. “Ok just stay calm just gotta figure out where I am so I can get home” I was somewhere on the outskirts of ponyville near the everfree forest. I looked up a head and I could see a little cottage in the clearing with a bunch of little critters playing around it. “Who would live this close to the everfree forest they must be on brave pony” I walked up to the house and took a look around to see if anypony was home and when I turned the corner I saw a little yellow pegasus with bright pink hair and big blue eyes. “Um hello could you tell me........” Before I could finish she let out a very soft and very frightened sound and then jumped into a bush “epp” “Um sorry for scaring you, but I was just wondering if you could tell me which way was east. “...” “Hello” “....” “Look i'm sorry if i scared you I didn't mean to its just been a really long day and all I want to do is get home” She poked her head out of the bush this time “ I've never seen you in town before..................are you new ......if you don't mind me asking that is” I was getting sick of all the questions, but something about her said I could trust her. “Sigh” “No i'm not new i've lived near ponyville for quite sometime just on the outskirts of ponyville” “Oh why do you do live so far from town” She was starting to inch her way out of her bush with each word. “Its.....complicated and I don't feel like talking about it” “Oh ok I will let you get going then” I was about to leave, but something just kept telling me to talk to this mare and get it all out tell her everything. “Wait...........it's these last couple of days have been very stressful some things have come up from my past” She stopped and looked at me “If you want to talk about it I have some free time right now........that is if you want to” “Thanks Ms.ummmm” “Fluttershy” “Fluttershy”I have a good feeling about this mare. -----------------------------------------------------MEANWHILE----------------------------------------------------- “Dangit I nearly had him oh when I get my hooves on him im gonna.......” That jerk of a pony had just barely slipped through her hooves and now she was looking all over for him. “Rainbow did you find him yet?” “No Twilight he’s gone probably booked it somewhere that coward” “Well just keep a lookout he could still be around town somewhere hiding” “Ayeya captain egghead” With that Rainbow dash zoomed off. ------------------------------------------------BACK AT FLUTTERSHYS-------------------------------------- “Ok why don't you start from the beginning Mister ummmm i'm sorry I never asked your name” “Thats ok Fluttershy and its Blue moon” I said as sat down on her couch. “Ok Blue why don't you tell me about today..............thats if you want to” I didn't realize it before, but this mare is actually really shy. “Ok where to begin............. I guess I should start with why i'm lost in the first place I was being chased by a rainbow colored mare and..............” “Wait you were being chased by Rainbow dash why what did you do?” Oh so her name was Rainbow dash, but how did she know this mare. “I may have kind of sort of yelled at one of her friends and then told her to leave me alone, but I have a question how do you know her?” “Shes one of my best friends ever since we were young, but another question who did you yell at?” “Oh I don't remember her name, but she was bright pink with bright pink puffy hair and a balloon cutie mark” “Thats Pinkie pie another friends of mine” Crap figures I piss off the friends of the first new mare I meet that I want to be my friend. “Ok Fluttershy i'm just gonna tell you what happened these last couple days, but not everything just the stuff you need to know ok?” “Ok Blue” “Ok so someone from my past that I haven't seen a really long time came back and I still couldn't face them so I ran away again before I could face her.......” “Her?” {Crap did I just say that} “Um............ yes her anyway I was mad at myself, and I let it build and build until I met your friend Pinkie where I let it out and made her cry and after that I felt mad at myself, ashamed, and now guilty for yelling at a pony that didn't even do anything to deserve it” Wow I actually feel a little bit better for talking with her. “Thats an interesting story Blue, but you have to go apologize to Pinkie” She was right I had to make things right with her. “Your right Fluttershy just one problem I don't have a clue where she even is” I said hanging my head in defeat. “Well you're in luck because I do now lets go” She was already at the door. “Ok Fluttershy lead the way” Me and this mare are going to be really good friends I could feel it. ------------------------------------------------OVER PONYVILLE------------------------------------------------ “Twilight can I stop now he’s obviously gone” Twi and Rainbow had been looking for Blue for hours and still had not hide nor hair of him. “Sure Rainbow lets land over there I think I see Fluttershy” ----------------------------------------------------BACK TO ME----------------------------------------------------- “Man Fluttershy you live really far from town” We had been walking for a couple hours and had finally made it back to ponyville. “Oh yeah well most of the animals don't like to live too close to the town theres to much noise” Man learning about Fluttershy is awesome I found out she is like the town animal caretaker and she watches and takes care of all the animals in ponyville and she can communicate with them in all my years she has to be one of the most interesting ponies i've met. “Hey Fluttershy” Oh crap I know that voice. I looked up to see not only Rainbow dash, but Twilight riding on her back. {Ohno ohno ohno } was all could think this was not going to end well. “Hi Fluttershy what are you up.........HEY ITS YOU WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH FLUTTERSHY” I was trying my best to hide behind Fluttershy I really didn't feel like getting punched in the face. “Um I would like to apologize for being rude before I was not myself” {please take the apology i don't want to get punched} “Fine, but i'm keeping my eye on you buddy you got that” She was still mad, but at least she wasn't gonna beat me to a pulp. “Um girls this is Blue moon he was lost and didn't know how to get home so he asked me and then we got to talking and he told me all about his problem with you girls so he asked if I could take him to Pinkies so he could apologize” “Really?” “Yes he feels bad for how he acted” “Yeah I really do” {Man Fluttershy barely knows me and she is already standing up for me} “Ok well then we want to come with you to make sure you actually apologies to Pinkie” “Thats fine with me, ok Fluttershy lead the way” ok now I have two angry mares coming with me to apologize to a mare I yelled at yeah this day just gets better and better at least I can set things right with Pinkie. We got to sugarcube corner, but it was closed and there was soft crying coming from inside and a couple of voices so i pressed my ear to the door. “Its alright sugarcube” “Yes darling now why don't you tell us whos got you so down” It sounded like a couple of mares trying to talk to Pinkie I leaned in I bit closer to hear, but someone left the door open. “Yeah who did this to you pinkie we will go get them right now” “It.......it was......” Before she could finish I fell through the door and onto the floor right in front of them. “Him it was him hes the big meanie mean pants” She looked terrible her hair was flat and strait she had been crying for hours by the looks of it and it was all my fault. "I hope you're here to apologize to Pinkie pie cause if u aint” She look ready to kick me in the face. “Thats exactly why he's here Applejack” Twilight said stepping over me I got up on my hooves, but Rainbow pushed me back down as she walked in. {I guess I deserved that one} “We'll get to it darling” I walked over to Pinkie seeing her like this was painful and it was my fault. “Pinkie I am so sorry for yelling at you it was not the right thing to do I had to much anger built up and I let it out on you I hope you can forgive me” “All Right” Her hair poofed up and she bounced off -__- “What just happened” Fluttershy walked over to me. “She forgave you Blue isn't that great” “But just like that she forgives me how is that possible” “Thats just the way Pinkie pie is” Wow that was easier than I thought it was going to be. “Now that thats out of the way why don't you tells us what made you so mad in the first place” Oh I should have seen that coming. “Twilight please just let this go ok I don't want to talk about it” “Well considering you yelled at Pinkie and were rude to me and and rainbow I think you owe us and explanation” “Fine, but not here lets go to your library twilight” . . . . . . . . . . “Ok girls what i'm about to tell you never leaves this group understood?” They all nodded. “Ok well like I told Fluttershy someone from my past came back someone I thought i would never see again” "You also said it was a she” “Yeah I did fluttershy, but not just any she this mare is princess Luna" "Yeah right like you know princess Luna" "It's true I've known her for a very long time before she turned evil" "If what you're saying is true then that would make you........ Blue Sighed “Let’s start at the beginning" //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter five //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter five Chapter Five “Ok girls it all started on the day I was born, Twilight how much do you know about a blue moon?” “Um not very much all I know is that its a rare occurrence only happening once every hundred years and not even Luna controls it, it just happens” she rubbing the back of her head with her hoof. “Thats right, but also the moon itself radiates magic when it rises” “Ok, but what does that have to do with you being one thousand years old and the princess?” Said rainbow a little annoyed. “I was getting to that you see my birthday falls on the day the blue moon rises and because of that I absorbed some of its magic when I was born which made me a little...... different” FLASHBACK: 1000 years “wa wa” “The child is born the birth is complete.......oh my” “What what's wrong with him?” Said the stallion at the edge of the room. “He appears to already have his cutie mark sir Lunar eclipse” “Thats impossible” Eclipse said, trotting over to his new son. A beautiful blue colt with a light blue mane with a silver streak all the way down to his tail, he held up his so in the moonlight and there on his flank was a moon, a blue moon. “I must see the unicorn council right away” He said bolting out of the hut. BACK TO PRESENT “Wait just a second you were born with your cutie mark?” Said twilight. “Well kind of only half of my cutie mark was there” I stood up and showed them my flank “You see my cutie mark is a blue moon with a telescope the telescope showed up a few years later now back to my story” “Council I must speak with you its about my son” Eclipse said while running into the council of unicorns hut. “Yes, what is thy problem sir Eclipse” said a head unicorn with a booming voice. “I believe my son is cursed you must help him please Starswirl you must help” Eclipse was on his knees begging. “Let me see the child” Eclipse hoofed Starswirl his son and he began examining him with his magic “ I am sorry sir Eclipse I can not help, but I know of someone who can come with and be swift” Starswirl lead Lunar eclipse towards the forbidden forest with his son in tow. “Where are we going Starswirl I thought you were going to help my son not lead us to nowhere” Starswirl stops and turns to him. “I am and we are going to the home of my teacher and are leader” With that he pushed some bushes out of the way to reveal a large royal castle. “You....you don't mean the princesses” Eclipse was scared he had never seen the princesses no one had it was said they had power beyond measure. “If anyone can help your son its them, but you have to trust me”. regaining his composure he stepped forward “Lets go.” Starswirl led him through a long hallway at the end stood a large oak door with a sun and moon symbols carved into it. He opened the door and there sitting on two thrones one as bright as the sun and the other as beautiful as the night were the princesses. “My most faithful student what is the nature of this visit?” Celestia asked with a warm smile. “Princess we believe this stallions son has been cursed he was born with a cutie mark” Starswirl said stepping forward. “That is most peculiar my we see this child” Said the lunar princesses. “Yes of course your highnesses” He hoofed them the colt and the princesses went about examining him. After about ten minutes both princesses released their magic and set the child down. “Well what alles my son?” Said Eclipse with worry in his voice. Celestia stepped forward “There is nothing wrong with your son sir Eclipse in fact you should be blessed” “Blessed I do not understand?” This time Luna stepped forward “You see when a unicorn gives birth she searches for magic to aid in the process and with the blue moon at full rise she called upon its magic and that is what transformed your son.” “But that still doesn't explain his cutie mark or anything....” “We are sorry, but me and my sister must take our leave we wish you many happy days my little ponies.” With that they teleported away leaving Eclipse to think of what the princess had said. "And that's all I know over the years I started to look into the blue moon research it, but to no avail. " The whole room stood silent all the girls just looked at me. "Wow that's amazing so you really are one thousand years old darling." Said rarity breaking the silence. “Yeah I am” I said rubbing the back of my neck. “Wow you must have been ALL kinds of party’s oh I bet it must have been fun huh was it was it?” I just sat there thinking about all the years i’ve been alive all I had seen all I had done then I finally answered “No Pinkie it was not fun i’ve lived too long i’ve seen my so much, my family my friends I say them turn to dust before my very eyes” “Oh my” “I’m sorry” “Oh darling” “Holy cow” “Thats terrible sugarcube” “That must have been terrible I, I mean we can only imagine what you went through Blue” I didn't hear any of them I was lost in my own little world images of everypony I knew flashed into my head all at once then it stopped on one pony the only pony who seemed to be there the only one who outlasted the years just like me......Luna “I have to go, thank you all of you I need to tell that story i’ve lived with it for so long i-it feels good to get it off of my chest” I started towards door, but I was stopped “Wait are you going to be ok Blue I-I mean walking home that is?” Fluttershy said getting up. “Yeah i’ll be fine good night everypony.” and with that I started on my way home feeling like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders for once I felt a little happy. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Six //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Six Chapter six “Come on Blue! It’s time to go see Princess Luna.” She pounded on blues door “No, go away. leave me alone!” I said resentfully. “Blue! Do I need to kick the door in and drag you to the castle?” “....’ “I hope you’re clear of the door” Meteor said, pivoting on her hooves. Before she could buck the door it opened. “Come on Blue, It’s time you faced her.” Meteor said, turning to face him. “But what if she” Meteor cut in. “No, no buts!” I continued anyway “ doesn't like me, what if i'm no good what if.......” “Well, if that happens.......” Meteor half whispered the last words. “ Doesn’t matter, I’m sure there are plenty of mares that would have you as their special somepony.” She looked down, hiding her face. “Darnit Meteor what would I do without you.“ I said giving her a hug. Meteor jumped a little. “I don’t know, never confront the person you feel most for?” “what was that?” “Nothing...” Meteor then whispered something, just under Blue’s hearing. “We should go now.” “Right, you're right lets get going.” The two began the long flight toward the castle of Canterlot. When the duo landed they were immediately greeted by the castle guards. Most of them knowing Blue Moon and his apprentice Meteor Shower.”Hey um Meteor how did you get this meeting with the princess anyway?”Blue asked, wondering. “Oh! I asked Mi-, “ Meteor noticed a few guards around. “Princess Celestia if we could set it up.” She started walking toward the main hallway. “Really you just asked and she set it up, just like that.” Yeah, why not? She probably would have done it easier if you asked.” Meteor was spacy, admiring the castle yet again. I started getting nervous so he started prepping himself ”ok just don't get nervous. You can do this, you CAN do this.” “What are you doing?” Meteor asked hearing me mumble under his breath. “You sound crazy.” “Says the one staring around the castle looking like shes about to steal something.” “Wha... Do you really think I would do something like that? I am appalled, Blue.” She looks at me slyly. “Well, there is something here I might try to steal.” “And what might I ask would that be?” Meteor stopped and turned to face him. “Oh nothing, just Miss Celestia’s crown.” Meteor turned and started walking again. “I wouldn't be saying stuff like that in the castle you could get thrown in the dungeon.” I said laughing at Meteor. “Come on Blue, you know I’m joking.” She then mumbles again. “Well, I’m sure Princess Luna is waiting for us.” “Yeah lets go before I lose my nerve again” Meteor takes off toward the massive, amethyst doors at the end of the hall. Each with Luna’s insignia engraved on it. She waits for me to reach the doors before knocking. “ENTER.” A loud voice echos from inside the room. Meteor covered her ears at the sheer volume. I just stood there “Ah the royal Canterlot voice.” Meteor recovered enough to open the door. I followed her inside. “Uh... Princess Luna, I’ve come with my friend Blue Moon. On very important business.” “I WAS TOLD THIS WAS TO BE A PERSONAL MEETING.” Luna looked at Meteor funnily as she covered her ears. “Uah hi princess do you remember me its me Blue Moon.” She looked at the little stallion eyeing him up and down. “I CANNOT SAY THAT YOU ARE IN MY MEMORIES.” “Um princess I know you’ve been gone for a while, but you don’t need to keep using the royal Canterlot voice.” “WHAT DO YOU MEAN? THIS IS THE TONE OF VOICE ALL OF THE ROYAL FAMILY SPEAK WITH TO THEIR SUBJECTS.” She looked at me, slightly confused. “Yeah, well that’s fine, but I think you’re gonna make my apprentice go deaf.” I said pointing to Meteor, still covering her ears. “Oh, I see” Luna said, lowering her voice. “My sister said something about my subjects being unused to the Royal Canterlot Voice.” “There that’s better now, as I was saying I am Blue Moon. I don’t know if you remember, but I was the little colt that was brought to you over one thousand years ago. I am also the stallion you saved five hundred years later in the royal gardens.” Meteor looked at me confused. “I- Isn’t that impossible? Only alicorns have been known to live this long.” Luna replied, just as confused as Meteor. “Thats not important right now Luna. What is important is why I’m here, I’m here to show my feelings and ask you to be my special somepony.” I said, my voice filled with confidence. Luna looked down at me, concern in her eyes. “I cannot.” She finally said. “And why not?” Meteor yelled up to her. “I just can’t. Not to one so... unregal.” Meteor glared at her, astonished. “That is NO reason to deny somepony at least a chance!” Meteor unfurled her wings. “ONE WHO IS TRULY REGAL WOULD DEFEND THEMSELVES!” Luna said, returning to the royal Canterlot voice. I could tell that Meteor snapped. Her wings moved with incredible speed. In a moment she was across the room. The small, grey pegasus had done something nopony had ever dared. The Princess held her face. A red hoofprint throbbed on her cheek. The guards, caught off guard (haha), took a moment to react, barely stopping Meteor from striking her again. Luna sat there, astonished. She then looked back to me. “At this point, I would sooner accept her than you.” Luna immediately chose to regret that comment. Meteor broke from the guards magic and flew to attack her again. The red mark on Luna’s face became even more so. After the second hit I came back to reality, snatched up Meteor and bolted out of the room. The guard’s right on our tail along with a pissed off Luna. At first Meteor resisted my attempts to get us out of there. When she finally got back to her senses she flew nearly as fast away as she had toward the Princess. "Meteor what the hell were you thinking SLAPPING the princess, are you INSANE!?" “I don’t care who it is, nopony should talk like that.” A bolt of lightning zipped in between me and Meteor causing us to shut up and focus We turned a corner and pulled ahead of them only for a little bit “We need to get out of here we have to hide” As we turned another corridor we came upon a four way path all leading to a door. “Great which way do we go?” I looked around to each door “I don't know” An angry yell came from behind us shaking the windows and our knees. “Eenie, meenie, minie, MO!” Meteor grabbed me and crashed through the door closest to us and closing it behind her “Ok I think we're safe Blue.....Blue?” I didn't hear her, I was too busy staring in fear at the large, white, all powerful alicorn taking a bite out of her sandwich. “I take it things did not go well with my sister?” {What have i gotten myself into?} Author's Note I will be posting every week from now till the story is finished so keep an eye out for new chapter CIAO!! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Seven //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Seven Chapter Seven “Hi princess, sorry to interrupt your lunch, we were just, uh, looking for the royal garden! That’s believable. Yeah, Blue wanted to show me some of the old statues, right Blue?” Meteor nudged me, snapping me from my scared state. “Yeah yup thats just what we're doing and not nothing else ha ha ha ha” “You know Blue, I’ve known you longer than anypony.” She stood and walked over to me, stopping directly in front of me “And in all that time I’ve come to learn that you are a terrible liar, so why don’t you tell what is really going on.” I have only been scared of a few ponies in my lifetime and Celestia is definitely one of them especially when she is not yelling, now I know why Clover the clever had a nervous breakdown. I lowered my head not wanting to look her in the eye “It didn't work princess your sister didn't except my love.” “But that doesn't explain why you and your friend came bursting into the dining hall.” “Yeah that would be my fault princess I may have slapped your sister after she rejected him.....I'm sorry.” “Why would you do that?” “She didn't just reject him she called him unworthy, unfit to be with her. She took his heart and stomped on it right in front of him. She didn’t show any remors...” I cut her off I didn't want her to keep talking I didn't want to hear anymore. “Your sister and I won't be together Celestia I tried and failed and now i’m gonna head home if thats ok with you.” I didn't feel sad well not completely I felt more relieved somehow. “Well Blue i’m sorry to hear that, but I hope to see you again soon.” With that Celestia left the hall. “Blue? Are you ok?” “Yeah, yeah i'm fine Meteor lets just go home I don't want to be here anymore.” “B-but what about Luna? I’m sure she’s still mad at me.” She said looking around. I thought about what she said “You know what I really don’t care” I walked over to the window and swung it open “let her be mad all I want to do now is go home and have a drink or two or twelve” I unfurled my wings and looked back “would you care to join me?” She looked at me and nodded “That actually sounds pretty good.” I jumped out the window with Meteor in tow now wasn't the time to feel sorry for myself no now was the time for action and I knew just where to go. Royal gardens “We can not believe thou let those two get away what kind of soldier art thou?!” Luna was scolding the two guards for letting the two criminals get away. “thou shalt be punished for this in the harshest of fashions!” “That is enough little sister” Celestia landed next to her younger sister “I think you have scared them quiet enough now come walk with me.” “And you big sister how could you let them just leave with no punishment they have committed a crime of the highest caliber one punishable by dea...” “That is enough Luna! Now I know you're a little upset over this whole matter, but you must understand that stallion has been through so much” She looked down at her sister “and after all this time he finally shares his feelings and for you to reject him i’m surprised he was as calm as he was little sister.” “But sister he is a common pegasus stallion one of many who thinks they are worth to court us, what makes him so special what makes him worthy?” She asked “You really don’t remember him little sister has it really been that long?” Celestia looked into the water of the fountain. “Sister?” Luna asked eyeing her older sibling “I want you to try and remember Luna, back 1000 years ago and when you do I want you to come see me, but not until then do you understand?” “Yes I understand” Celestia left in a flash of light “I understand that a certain little pegasus is going to pay for her crimes” Edge of Ponyville “So, Blue, where are we going?” “Well in all the time I’ve lived near ponyville theres only been one place I go frequently.” “And that would be where exactly?” She looked at me raising an eyebrow I looked at her with a smile. “Soooo a bar? A bar is the only place in ponyville you've been to multiply times, don’t you find that the least bit worrying?” “No, no I don't and this is not just any bar my dear Meteor” I pointed to the sign above the building “this is Frostys owned and operated by the one and only Frosty mug the best bartender in all of Equestria.” I opened the door and ushered her in. “If you say so.” She walked in and I followed, after her taking in the glow. “Uh Blue this place is a dump.” She waves her arm around the room. I shoved my hoof into her mouth “*Shush* don't let Frosty hear you say that” “Who is this Frosty mug anyway?” “Well Frosty is an older grumper earth pony who takes great pride in his bar its his baby “His baby is falling apart.” She kicks a table making it fall apart “WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT MY BAR?!” “Oh here we go....... FROSTY old man how have you been hows the misses?” “Dead and lousy and who is this you got with you Blue she looks like trouble.” “Well she can be at time’s, but shes cool.” “Hey! I’m standing right here!” “Well alright, but if she starts something she’s out of here you got that missy?” Frosty pointed his hoof in Meteors face and walked away. “Why you little...” Meteor was about step forward “Now Meteor calm down i’m sure he didn’t mean it now go find a place to sit i'll get us some drinks. “Whatever” “Good now do you want anything special?” “Yeah... I’ll take a Celestia Sunrise” She said laying her head on the table. “Got it” I started my way over to the bar “Hey Frosty I need one hard cider and a Celestia Sunrise.” “Sure” He poured the drinks and hooved them to me “Hey what’s the deal with the mare she a fling or something?” “What no, no she’s just a friend why would you ask that?” “Well i’ve been around the block a couple times and well i’ll just let you figure it out” With that frosty walked to the other end of the bar. I stood there staring into our drinks “No I couldn’t be, could it” “HEY BLUE! WHERE ARE THOSE DRINKS!?” I snapped out of my thinking “Nawww Frostys wrong...... I think?” I walked with the drinks back over to our table “Ok so are you ready to drink away the day?” I didn’t hear a response all I heard was the sound of glass hitting table. Meteor looked at me holding my drink “Well come on slow-poke I’m not gonna wait on ya, HEY CAN I GET ANOTHER ONE OVER HERE!” “Wow ok” I slammed down my cider and signaled for another one. “Look Blue I know you didn’t want to talk about what happened at the castle” “And I still don’t” I took a swig of my drink. “But you said some interesting things back there, like Luna saving you I haven't heard that story before in fact I haven't heard a whole lot about your past, in fact just how you were born and that’s it what else is there I wonder where you've been oh have you been to Prance or or...” I slammed my cup on the table getting her attention “Look Meteor I didn't bring you hear to tell you my whole life’s story I came here to have a drink and maybe have some fun with my friend ok?” She looked down and nodded “Yeah I understand” “Thank you now” I raised my mug “Lets drink!!” One drunken stooper later... “Ah why does my head hurt and why can’t I feel my legs” I opened my eyes catching the sunlight making me slam them shut “Damn........ ok lets try this again” I opened my eyes and looked around “Ok good i’m at my house that’s good, now why can't I move?” I looked down at my body “Oh mother of Celestia” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Eight //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Eight Chapter eight “Star what the hell are you doing laying in my bed!” I yelled kicking the passed out stallion off me. “Wha.....huh.....five more minutes” Broken Star the only pony I know that drinks as much as me and is now drooling on my floor “Star why are you in my house?” “Wha...where am I” Star opened his eyes “Ow ow ow no nope never again” He clasped his head in pain from his hangover. “That does not answer my question” I said getting out of bed. “Oh Blue hey how’s it going, what are you doing in my house?” He said slowly getting to his hooves. “This is my house” I said helping him up “and that still doesn't answer my question” “Oh well sorry about that I guess we had a few to many huh?” He said laughing. “Star what happened last night all I can remember is going to the bar having a few drinks and..and that’s it” I said looking at him. “Well I walked into the bar around 2 am and saw you pounding back the drinks like there was no tomorrow then I joined in and BOOM here we are, I guess I passed out too when I brought you back haha sorry about that” “Well at least I made it home safe I don’t need a FUI thanks for that by the way” I said patting him on the back “now how about some coffee on me?” “Yeah that sounds good I need a pick me up feels like I got hit by a meteor” He laughed as he walked past me. “Ha a meteor....wait a meteor.....METEOR?!” I yelled running into the living room searching. “Um what are you doing, did you say Meteor she’s probably at home... though come to think of it I haven't seen her in a couple days” He said rubbing his chin. “This is not good she could be anywhere” “What’s the big deal? She's a tough girl, she’ll be fine! Now how about that coffee?” “No no that’s not the problem she went out drinking with me last night and now she’s gone” I said grabbing him by the shoulders. He grabbed my hooves and took them off his shoulders very calmly “Blue I only have one thing to say to you” He jumped forward and pinned me against the wall “What in all of Equestria would possess you to take my DAUGHTER out drinking with you?!” He had me pinned and I could barely breath “Look i’m sorry it was an impulse she was with me I was upset it just happened ok?” “Dammit Blue *sigh* fine, but we have to find her” He loosened his grip and let me go. “Agreed now where do we start?” I said rubbing my neck where he was squeezing me. Star rubbed the back of his neck “I don’t know let’s try the bar maybe Frosty can tell us something?” “Great idea lets....” I was cut off by a hoof in my face. “Look Blue don’t think that you're forgiven, cause your not.” I looked into his eyes and I could tell he was dead serious and I knew not to mess with a worried dad thats one of my great life lessons that i’ve come to learn its not my first time in this situation man who knew Starswirl could throw such a mean right hook. I nodded “Yeah, yeah I got it now lets go” Derpy's house “Oh...... maybe I shouldn't have had that last drink owww” Derpy said pressing her hoof to her head. “You said it Derpy, my head is pounding. I shouldn’t have had that last celestia sunrise” “AH..... wah.... Meteor what are you doing in my house and more importantly in my bed?!” Meteor flopped around in Derpy’s bed “Oh well you showed up at the bar last night and me and you started drinking, then I left cause Blue ditched me, but I couldn’t make it so you let me stay here last night do you understand?” “I t-think so, but why are you in my bed?” “Oh, well I guess I do crazy stuff when I drink.” She said getting out of bed. “O-ok I guess” She said shaking her head. Meteor and Derpy both walked into the living room “So um are you hungry I can make some breakfast if you like?" "No, that's ok Derpy, I should probably go check on Blue he had a lot to drink last night before I lost him I got to make sure he's not laying face down in a ditch somewhere," Meteor opened the front door. "but thanks anyway. I'll see you later." Meteor closed the door tightly, she heard a faint wing-beat and looked up, seeing the slanted iris of a bat pony. “Aaa-mmmph” She tried to scream as a second Lunar Guard hit the back of her head. Out of a crack in the window blinds Derpy watched her unconscious friend carried through the sky toward Canterlot. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Nine //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter Nine Chapter Nine Star knocked on Frosty's door “Frosty hey you in there? We need to talk to you, Frosty!” Star pounded on the door of the bar. “Look Star you need to calm down you look like a crazy pony and not in your usual way” I said prying his hoof away from the door. “I don’t care Blue we need to find my daughter!” “Look calm down ok? I’m sure she’s fine maybe Frosty let her use the spare cot he keeps in the back.” “*sigh* ok ok you're probably right it’s just I-I don't want to lose her Blue I can't lose her again” I put my hoof on his shoulder. “I know I know” “Are you two colt cuddlers gonna stand there all day or are you gonna explain why you pounding on my door?” I shoved Star away from me “ Well you see, this isn't what it look’s like!” “Yeah right and Celestia is just a cake enthusiast” He said waving his hoof. “Frosty! you can make fun of Blue later. Is my daughter in there?” “Who’s your girl?” I pulled Frosty aside “Do you remember that mare I brought to the bar last night?” I said rubbing my neck. “Yeah so wh.... oh I got ya and no she’s not here I saw her leave with the mail mare after you ditched her.” “Ditzy she’s with Ditzy?” “Yeah her” “Thanks Frosty you’re a big help” I reached out my hoof to shake his, but instead all I got was a piece of paper “ What’s this?” I looked at the paper. “That, is the bill for you drinks last night I want my money by the end of the month” He slammed the door in my face. I've seen hundreds of them and they were all the same. “sigh”, sighing in defeat I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom as I walked in I turned towards the mirror praying to see something, ANYTHING, different, but what I saw was the same pony looking back a dark blue coat, almost black, a sky blue mane. I look like a colt in his prime and maybe the only part of my body I didn't mind that stayed the same, my Cutie Mark, it is a full moon with a telescope pointing towards it. Not just any moon, but, a blue moon. An event that only happened once every hundred years. “Looking good” I leave the bathroom, headed for the front door. “Maybe some fresh air will help.” Opening the door and walking out I felt the crisp night air brush against my coat not even bothering to look up at the night sky knowing it wasn't the same. It hasn't been the same since she left........... After spending a good couple hours outside I head back towards my door, but as I turned my head I caught a glimpse of the sky and my head snapped straight up to see the most magnificent sight i had seen in a thousand years in the sky was the biggest full moon, but that wasn't what caught my eye it was the stars. Every star in the correct place, shining like a miniature sun even the constellations were where they're supposed to be. I stood there staring at the night sky, not realizing the moon was seeking lower and lower. As the sun peeked over the horizon I woke from my trance. “I have to contact Meteor Shower right away.”
