What's important
Load Full StoryMaretime Bay 4:00pm
It is 4:00pm in Maretime Bay, the ponies of the beautiful city were seen taking a stroll through the city, having a chat, doing work, and playing with each other like usual, life was steady for the ponies of the land ever since the reunification thanks to the efforts of Sunny Starscout and her friends. The ponies of the city were also seen wearing scarfs, winter caps, and gloves due to it being winter right now.
In the lighthouse of Maretime Bay also known as the home to Sunny, Hitch and Chase Trailblazer, a young six years old colt named Chase Trailblazer aka the son of Sunny and Hitch Trailblazer was seen packing some bits in a small bag from a box filled with bits that he purposely saved up. This is due to the young colt scheduled to meet his friend Bright in Maretime Bay arcade after another successful term at school.
"Alright, that should be everything." Chase said with a smile as he grabbed the bag of bits. "Time to head to the arcade." He told himself in an exhilarated tone.
Then, Chase walked to the door of his bedroom and pulled it open when he got there. After that, he exited his bedroom and prepared to make his way to the front door of his house, however, he was stopped by the sound of his mother calling him.
"Chase!"
The young colt turned around to see his mother walking up to him with a smile. Once Sunny got to her son, she bent down and nuzzled him lovingly like any mother's would show to their children.
"Oh Chasey, how are you doing my little baby colt?" Sunny said as she tightened her embrace on her son Chase, and the young colt blushed in embarrassment when he heard his mother calling him 'little baby', he's already grown up! "Are you going out right now?" The apricot coloured mare asked as she attempted to give him kisses.
"Yes I am." Chase grunted as he broke the hug by pushing himself away from his mother. "I'm scheduled to meet Bright at the arcade for today." He told her.
"Oh okay, do you want to bring some snacks and hot chocolate on the way before you leave my little baby?" Sunny cooed, and Chase shot her an irked expression.
"I'll be fine, and don't call me little baby, I've grown up now." Chase told her in an aggravated tone. After that, the young colt turned around and walked to the front door of his house.
Sunny's eyes then widened when she realized that it was the winter season this month meaning that Chase must wear the scarf, gloves, and hat so that he would not catch a cold.
"Baby wait! You need to wear something to warm yourself in the cold!" Sunny informed him, but, she noticed her son wearing his green winter jacket without her needing to tell him too. This indicates that he can take care of himself.
"I'll be fine mom." Chase said with an aggravated expression as he opened the door of his house.
However, Sunny insisted that he needed to wear some more to prevent himself from catching a cold. Therefore, she walked to the family couch and grabbed a scarf that she purposely sewed for him.
"Chasey wait!" Sunny said as she ran to the door before her son travelled to the arcade.
Chase rolled his eyes in aggravation and turned around to face his annoying mother.
"What is it now mom?"
"You should at least wear this scarf." She cooed.
"I'll be fine with this jacket mom." Chase assured her and he attempted to turn around and head off but, his mother stopped him again.
"Come on Chasey, my sweet little baby, you'll catch a cold if you don't-"
Sunny wasn't able to finish her sentence when Chase turned around in a rapid pace before grabbing the scarf that his mother sewed for him with an annoyed expression. After that, the young colt threw the scarf to the floor and stomped on it with his hoof making her mother gasp in horror.
"Mommy! I said I'll be fine! I'm six, I can take care of myself! And don't call me baby!" Chase exclaimed with an irked expression. After that, the young colt turned around and headed straight to Maretime Bay to meet up with Bright.
Sunny was now seen slowly picking up the scarf with a depressed expression, she thought that her son would love this scarf but, all she did was annoy him. Her heart then crumbled into pieces and she broke down into tears.
Maretime Bay arcade
At the front entrance of Maretime Bay arcade, Chase Trailblazer was seen waiting for his friend Bright Cloverleaf to arrive before he enters to play. However, Bright was a little off schedule.
"Where is he?" Chase asked in a perplexed tone as he looked down on his watch.
"Yo Chase!"
When Chase heard the familiar voice, he turned to his left to see his friend Bright walking up to him. He was seen wearing a red scarf sewed by his mother Izzy Moonbow, he was wearing green gloves, a light blue jacket, and wearing a cap.
"Sup Bright!"
Once Bright got to Chase, the two colt's did their hoof shake and chuckled when they finished.
"Sorry for not being on time, my mother wanted me to wear all of this." Bright told him with an embarrassed chuckle.
"It's okay, what matters is that you're here right now." Chase told him with a smile. "Anyways, ready to play?" He asked.
"You bet I am!" Bright replied in an exhilarated tone. "I've brought enough bits too for some games." He told him.
Chase nodded in satisfaction and the two colts entered the arcade.
Chase and Bright were seen having the time of their lives in the arcade. They paid for some tokens at the cashier area enough to play plenty of games in here. They first played some skee ball which is one of the most popular games in this arcade, and Chase was the winner with him winning lots of tickets. They then played some basketball, and Bright was the one who won this time due to Chase having little experiences when it comes to basketball while Bright was better at the sport. The third game they played was Hover Hockey, and it became a relentless match for the two due to them being able to react quick and hit the puck really hard that it nearly flew off the table, at the end, Chase was the winner of the game.
After ten more games, both colts have used up all of their tokens and won lots of tickets. They then decided to check out at the cashier, and the mare behind the counter was astonished at how many tickets these two colts won along with other stallions and mares in the arcade.
Chase chose a purple teddy bear as his prize, while Bright chose a plushie of a cute dog. After that, both ponies began to make their way to the entrance of the arcade.
"Hey Bright."
"Yes Chase?"
"Don't you find it aggravating that your mother forced you to wear all of that?" He asked.
"No." Bright replied with a shake of his head which made Chase surprised.
"How so?" Chase asked with a raise of his eyebrow. "You're also six years old, and don't you think that you can take care of yourself?" He asked again.
"True but, my mommy is still my mommy." Bright told him as he and Chase stood by the entrance of the arcade centre. "No matter how much blankets she gives me, sew clothes and gloves for me, dance with me. She just cares for me, and I must care and respect for her and my father." He finished.
Chase was beyond astonished by Bright's reply to him, he was nonplussed that he did not mind all of those humiliating things that his mother does to him, all she was doing was taking care of him. The young colt just realized that that was what his mother was trying to do for him too, she was just worried about him and just wants to take care of him. Now, he was ashamed of what he did in front of his own mother.
"Oh, what have I done?" Chased thought with a shameful expression.
"Bright!"
When Bright heard the familiar voice, he turned to his left and saw his mother running up to him with an exhilarated expression.
"Mommy!" Bright exclaimed happily as he spread his hooves.
Once Izzy got to her son Bright, she immediately embraced him in a hug.
"Enjoyed your time in the arcade with Chase baby?"
"Of course I did mommy." Bright replied with a nod. "I used up all of these tickets and won this dog plushie! And it is for you." He told her.
Izzy gasped when she saw the cute plushie, she then grabbed it and looked down at her son with a pleasant and grateful smile.
"Thank you so much honey." Izzy cooed as she embraced her son in a loving hug, and Bright hugged back. A brief second, the unicorn mare levitated her son in the air and placed him on her back. "Come Brighty, let's go home and drink some hot chocolate." She said
"Aww yeah! Bye Chase!"
As Chase watched his friend Bright and aunt Izzy Moonbow walking back to their home in Bridlewood lovingly like how any families are. The sight couldn't help but make the young colt feel warm and happy from it, it reminded him of the times his mother Sunny loved him very much and carried him on her back all the time when he was a little baby. Now, Chase was feeling remorseful for all of the offensive and impudent things that he has said to his own mother.
"I must make things right." Chase said sternly. Then, the young colt started to run back to his house.
After a three minutes run from town, Chase has returned back to his house. When he reached the front door, he first took a deep breath before slowly pushing it open. After that, he took a small peek through the door and noticed his mother sobbing on the couch, the sight has made him express even more guilt.
"Oh mommy." Chase said quietly in guilt as he entered his house.
On the couch, Sunny was seen sobbing quietly due to how foolish that she thinks she is for thinking that her son Chase would need to follow these instructions from her, after all, he is all grown up meaning that he can make all of these decisions by himself, and disregard her if he wanted to.
"Oh, I'm miss my baby colt." Sunny sobbed.
"Mommy?"
When Sunny heard the familiar voice, she looked to her left to see her son Chase sitting on the couch next to her while gently placing his right hoof on her left torso.
"Oh Chase, you've finished playing in the arcade with Bright?" Sunny asked wiping away her tears.
"Yes."
"Honey, I'm sorry for embarrassing you like that, I should've known better."
"No mommy, I should be the one who apologizes to you." Chase told her. "After all, all you were trying to do is to take care of me due to you being concerned for my health and wellbeing during times like this, and I'm sorry for ruining the perfect scarf that you sewed for me." He finished, then, he offered her his teddy that he won from the arcade.
Sunny couldn't help but feel heartwarmed by her son Chase's apology as well as his understanding towards her. The apricot coloured mare then grabbed the teddy bear, and set it aside for now. After that, she tried to hug him but suddenly, a cold breeze stopped her from doing it.
"Oh, here mommy, you don't want to catch a cold." Chase said as he grabbed his scarf and wrapped it around his mother's neck, and Sunny felt warm once again.
"Oh, thank you so much my sweet little baby." Sunny said in a grateful tone as she embraced her son in a loving hug, she then layed down on the couch on her back with Chase on top of her. "You're growing up so fast." She cooed in a proud tone.
"I know, but, I'm always your sweet little baby even as I mature." Chase cooed as he slowly slid his head under the scarf and stared into his mother's eyes lovingly.
Sunny couldn't help but shed a tear of happiness from her son's statement, she then wrapped her hooves around his back again and gently embraced him in a hug.
"Oh thank you sweetie." Sunny said in a grateful tone. "I love you Chasey my sweet little baby." She cooed.
"You're welcome mommy." Chase said as he gently wiped the tears away from his mother's eye. "I love you too, my sweet mommy." He cooed as he gently snuggled in his mother's warm body.
