As Julie continued her worship, Mary rolled off of Celestia onto the sand, now more like a quagmire due to their combined juices. She looked up at Celestia, giving her a tired smile, and the Princess nodded back with a perfectly neutral, perfectly Celestia expression.
Mary had been around the alicorn long enough to know that this meant she was hiding something. She’d probably want to have a conversation about the days events. Mary wasn’t looking forward to it, but she tried to put it out of her mind for the moment. She didn’t want to ruin her afterglow with thoughts of conscience.
Lying on her back as she gazed into the sky, Mary noticed movement high in the clouds. She narrowed her eyes, watching the thing lazily hover overhead, and the afternoon light reflected against some kind of glass underneath the flying object. A glass pointed right at the three of them.
Mary closed her eyes, trying and failing to put this out of her mind, too. She thought about asking Celestia to blast the thing out of the sky, but that would likely cause more problems. In the end, she just hoped whoever was watching enjoyed the show.
