A Freaky Hearth's holiday!
Santa Pony Arrives! Confrontation!
Previous ChapterBoth fillies awoke at the same time. They were confused at first, not realizing they drifted off to sleep.
"Darn... we must of-!"
"Drifted off into a slumber? We sure did. *giggles.*"
Both fillies laughed at each other before turning their heads to the window. The frost on it made it hard to see but they still can tell it was dark out. Dawn will be very soon. The soundful breeze can be heard as it blew against the window.
"I bet it's very very cold right about now!"
"Shh! Charm..."
Charm quickly covered her mouth. She forgot she had to be quite.
"Sorry... my bad! I'm so excited for when Santa Pony comes."
"I get that. He won't come if you're too loud because he'll know you're awake."
"*laughter*" there's a song that supports that."
"So do we just lay here for now and wait for him?"
"Of course sister. We don't want him to know we're up pass our bed time."
"Wouldn't that make us naughty?"
"Shh... yes!"
Mint tugged part of the blanket away from Charm.
"He-hey now. Don't be taking the entire blanket. I want to stay warm too you know."
Charm grabbed what she could of the blanket, then layed back down. Her hooves landed on Mint's stomach.
"Ow! Charm... geeze. Watch where you're placing you hooves."
"My bad Mint. I didn't mean to hurt you."
Mint begrudgingly laid down and stretched her hooves out. Her hooves landed gently on Charm's stomach. Charm was afraid she was going to do the same thing she mistakenly did but she's wrong.
"You're lucky I care about you Charm. Otherwise I would do the same thing to you."
What did Mint mean? Does she think Charm doesn't care about her?
"Huh...? What do you mean Mint? I care about you. It was a mistake, honest."
"I know Charm I'm just mess-!"
The fillies heard something fall down into the fireplace. The fire was put out just for Santa pony to make his entrance down into the home. When the fillies scoped the area using their vigilant eyes they saw a shadow, at first they thought it was a pony but realized it was just their shadow from underneath the blanket projected onto the wall by the moonlight.
"*Sigh!*"
Mint and Charm was getting impatient. How long does it take for Santa Pony to arrive? Doesn't he not come when he knows the fillies are awake. Surely he would know if they're just pretending to be asleep or not?
"Hey Charm. How can you always be positive all the time?"
"Hehehe! I don't know? I'm just am. I view the precious of living as a blessing that shouldn't be taken for granted."
"Uh huh... Well I guess you just are."
"Are you worry about coal Mint?"
Mint nearly blushed but was able to hold it back. No she's not.
"N-no."
"You can't change your personality for a reward. That who you are sister and you're not a mean filly. I mean sometimes you can be but you have your reasons."
Mint smiled, scooting down next to Charm and giving her a hug with a smile on her face. Charm was confused at first but understood the gesture. Charm was very good with empathy.
"Thank you Charm. I am constantly looked at as a rude filly because of my personality. So I thought I wouldn't be considered a behave filly by Santa pony."
"Awe... Even if you're not Mint. I will always have you on my 'good' list."
"Promise?"
"I promise Mint."
"Thank you."
The hug tighten before breaking apart. Was Mint going to lay up here now? Charm doesn't mind cause it is her sister after all but all ponies want their personal space. Charm looked at Mint who had her eyes closed with a smile on her face. She couldn’t help but smile before turning her head the other way.
("Sweet dreams Mint.")
("Sweet Dreams Charm.")
Both fillies closed their eyes slowly but surely. They drifted into a slumber, where they would be taken into a dream by the princess of the night. (Princess Luna.)
The wind outside blew violently. Tree branches fell, causing crashing and crunching sounds as they hit the ground. Ponies was asleep. Well almost all ponies was, besides a certain father who went out in this weather for his two fillies. When he reaches his location, the shed, he went inside, turning on the lights as he did. On a metal work bench was a Santa outfit. When the lights finished coming on, presents was visible. Lots of them. He's going to have to carry all of that?
("Well, at least my fillies will appreciate it.")
The Joyce on their faces is more than worth it. He wasn't going to let his wife come out here and get the presents. He's the colt of the house, so he should do the heavy lifting. Plus Santa pony is a colt not a mare.
("Charm, Charm, Charm, Mint, Mint, Charm, Mint, and Mint.")
The father made sure to count all the presents. Both of the fillies should get an equal amount; even though Mint deserves one or two less. After minutes of packing them into his sack, he walked out of the shed, nearly avoiding a trip as he did, then shutting the door.
"Luna, it's cold out here!"
Shivers forced their way down the colt's spine as he made his way through the snow; wishing he didn't have to be out in this blizzard. Any weather other than the cold is better than this. The air was warm. The fillies was still asleep, cuddling with each other. The view would adore any mother or father. The father couldn't go in from the door, he would have to go in from the chimney quietly. The things he'll do for his fillies. Their happy smiling faces in the morning will be all worth the effort. The father worked his way up to the roof. It was incredibly hard giving the freezing weather and the sliding sheets but he was able to do it. He took a breather near the chimney. The father looked down the chimney to see if there's any sign of fire present.
("Good. Last thing I want is for me to go from very cold to very hot in the matter of seconds.")
The father grabbed the zip line he carried on his back and shot it down the chimney. He made sure to lasso it down very quietly. The father tighten his beard and belt before climbing onto the chimney and looking down.
"*inhales* (Here goes nothing!")
The father climbed down the chummy, realizing when it's too late that zipline isn't secure enough. He switched over using his hooves to maneuver his way down the chimney as the zipline fell. It hurt slightly with every slide down but he'll push threw the pain. For him, pain was a mind conception; so if he just thinks about his fillies happy and smiling faces he'll have no pain.
("Half way there!")
The determination this colt had was unbound. A crashing sound from the zipline was heard. The fillies slightly awoke, Charm rubbing her eyes softly. Mint felt the movements of her sister's hoof, waking up as a result.
"Hey... What's all the ruckus about? Huh?"
A shadow coverd the fillies. Because of the moonlight you can only see the shadow of the colt that just arrived down the chimney. Mint and Charm was afraid of this colt. Yeah it could be Santa pony but what if it's a burglary about to take place? Or something even worse. The fillies hid underneath the blanket, peeking out to watch the colt open his brown sack. The moment they saw him put down a gift and take a gift, they were relief. It had to be Santa pony right? The outfit kinda looks like one too. The colt turned around to the fillies who quickly closed their eyes, faking their snores. The colt turned around, putting presents underneath the tree. The fillies peeked their eyes back open. The colt started setting the stockings up before taking his now empty bag and putting stuff from the table that belong to the fillies in the bag. Wait, why was Santa pony stealing? Maybe to enhance the objects? The more they watch the more they saw him take. To the fillies the objects wasn't junk. The colt walked towards the front door, ready to leave. He was still being covered by the shadow the moonlight help provide.
"*whispers* Charm. Should we stop him?..."
Mint was concerned. Why would Santa pony steal? He wouldn't so that means this isn't Santa pony, but a burglar putting on an act to be Santa pony. Charm was frightened but her sister is right. If this is a burglary then it needs to be stopped. But what can fillies like them do against an adult colt?
"*Whispers* You sure he's stealing?"
"*Whispers* I'm sure Charm. He faking being Santa pony so he can steal. He just put all the stuff on the table into his bag. Why would Santa pony do that?"
"*Whispers* I do-don't know?"
"*Whispers* That's because he wouldn't Charm."
"I see. What should we do then?"
"*Whispers* Come on.
Mint and Charm both stood from the couch, facing the direction the colt was in. As the colt touched the doorknob he heard two familiar voices.
"Stop right there theif!"
Both fillies yelled in union. The colt turned around, shocked by the sight of Mint and Charm. He definitely wasn't expecting them to be awake. What naughty fillies.
