This court will now hear the case of Sparkle vs Velvet. Mrs. Twilight Velvet, you stand accused of criminal infidelity and the use of dark magic. How do you plea?"
Velvet pantomimed aggressively in her seat, pulling at her hoof cuffs, chained to the defendant desk. Though no words came. A spell had temporarily muted her. Her representing attorney, Diamond Gavel, stepped forward. "My client has pleaded not guilty, Your Honor."
"Bologna!" Twilight Sparkle barked.
Celestia glared at her. "The prosecution will have their chance, Miss Sparkle. Another outburst from you in my courtroom will find you with a muting spell as well!"
"Sorry, Princess."
Celestia gave her robe a tug. "In here, it's 'Your Honor'. Don't make me remind you again." Twilight nodded sheepishly. Celestia put on a small pair of reading glasses and picked up the folder on her pulpit. "The prosecution will present their case against the defendant, along with any evidence and witnesses. The defendant will be offered the rebuttal opportunity to refute these accusations levied against them. After which the jury will deliberate and reach their verdict." Celestia nodded to Twilight. "The prosecution has the floor."
"Thank you, Prin- er, Your Honor!" Twilight stammered as she got up from her seat to address the jury. "Ladies and gentlecolts of the jury, today the prosecution will prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, and with overwhelming evidence, that the defendant, Mrs. Twilight Velvet, is guilty of infidelity.
