Prologue

“Why’d I bother coming this year?” The short, ash coloured pegasus asked herself.

“It’s the same as last year and the year before that.”

The summer sun celebration was indeed the same as it had been for years, a new place doesn’t change much. The nights festivities had been drawing to a close as the mayor of this year’s location begun the announcements of Princess Celestia. The dark coloured mare looked away as the fanfare began, a loud gasp caught her attention. She looked toward the balcony but, there was no Celestia. Shortly after, clouds of dark blue and indigo quickly crept onto the balcony, a moment later a tall alicorn with a black coat appeared. The crowd asked her “ Where’s the Princess?”. Her response was grim, something Meteor Shower was afraid of.

“Am I not royal enough for you?” The alicorn asked. “Does my crown no longer count, now that I’ve been imprisoned for a thousand years? Do any of you even know who I am?”

Few ponies spoke, but Meteor Shower was already outside. Everypony should know who this alicorn is. Unfolding her wings from the gown she wore only on special occasions, She flew.

She flew to her home, a ways outside of the town of Ponyville. She quickly shed the gown, barely hanging it. She knew that she must contact Blue Moon.
