The Fellow Traveler
Mister Reality and the Werewolf
Load Full Story"...the lights flickered. And an explosion happened. And a werewolf, THIS BIG took them away and ripped them limb for limb! And it took their--"
"Ok, i heard enough" interrupted the orange pegasus whom was listening to the Miner.
"I sawed it with my own two eyes!" The miner raised his grey good and pointed it to his eyes.
"Well, last time I heard you tell this story, it was Big Foot"
"It was so scarey, you didn't know what it was. But it didn't scare me."
"Ya sure"
"But it was a werewolf! I swear!"
"A werewolf you say?" A blue unicorn randomly walked up behind the orange pony. "Sorry, couldn't help but overhear"
"Come on, you're not actually BELIEVING this miner's tale." the doubter said, mockingly.
"Yes! THIS BIG!"
"Listen, Buddy," Orange explained to the newcomer. "This crazy pony over here just thinks he knows the reason all the miners keep vanishing."
"Miners keep vanishing?" the blue one questioned.
"The werewolf! He's taking them!"
"Well...Buddy is it?" the blue pony started.
"Jock"
"Well, Jock, can you take me to these mines?"
"You seriously believe him, don't you?" the orange one yelled.
"And what may be your name, Mr. Reality?"
"Andy Meaner"
"And who are you?" Jock inquired, even though he probably had no idea what inquired meant.
"Blue Moon" He answered.
"I'll take you to the mines, Mr. Moon" the filthy Earth pony offered.
"And, I guess I'll come too. I want to be there when I prove the old hack wrong" Andy stubbornly announced.
"Tommorow morning, then" Blue said, walking off.
As he walked, he ran into an alley. The pony that came out was a black pegasus. He continued his journey once more.
He tried his best to stay out of attention. As many multicolored equines passed, he wanted to look normal.
"HIIIIII!" WOAH! Wasn't expecting that! "I'm Pinkie Pie what's your name?"
"Thu--"
"Oooo Oooo Oooo! Do you want chocolate or vanilla cake?"
"Um--"
"What are you doing anyway? You act so weird."
Me acting weird? "I--"
"Why haven't I seen you here before? Maybe it's cuz you're NEW here! I know everypony in Ponyville."
Not everypony. "WEll, I--"
"Aren't ya gunna talk?"
"Listen, sorry, but I have to go. I'm busy." She stared at him with those eyes and the wide smile. "Alone."
"Oh....." her smile vanished and her ears dropped.
"I didn't hurt your feelings, did I?"
"No! I just like meeting new ponies!"
"I'll properly meet you later. I'm busy as of now...."
"OKIE DOKIE LOKI!" she said, face brightening again.
She hopped away and the now black Pegasus trudged on.
After the moderate walk, he reached the door he was aiming for. He knocked. The door opened, revealing Henry, his loyal friend. Henry opened the door.
"Sorry for intruding" the black Pegasus appologized.
"Nice to meet you...sir. What brings you to my humble estate?"
"I have yet to give you that travel I promised a while back."
"I don't even know you! I don't remember any promises."
"If you could go anywhere besides Ponyville, Cloudsdale, and Canterlot, where I assume you've already been, where would you go?"
"Probably Manehatten"
"Manehatten it is then"
The Pegasus led the brownish pony outside to a door. Henry didn't remember a door there. The mysterious character put a key in it and turned the knob. The door creaked opened and the Pegasus slipped inside. Henry cautiously approached the white entrance and pushed on it.
"What is this?" Henry's first response was upon walking in.
"This is a RITALIS. Relatively Invisible Travel And Lab Interdimensionial Shuttle."
"Just curious..." the pony started as the Traveler started up the machine. "Why do you randomly come up to my door and take me with you to this strange room of yours that has tons of strange stuff?"
"I believe you may be more familiar with this form..." He turned himself into a unicorn. One that had been known around Ponyville, but his own memories are jumbled with his own mind's pictures.
"Impossible...you're dead!"
"SHHHHHHH!"
"Weren't you rambling about having a mare? Does she know you're alive?"
He replied. "Sigh... That was all in my head. She never existed. But I so wish I could find a mare, you know? But I seem to have this curse where not a single mare stays with me long" He tried his best to contain his emotions.
"Calm down, buddy"
"Buddy? Oh! That reminds me. Would you like to venture the caves and find out what is making the miners vanish?"
"Oh, like the cats dissapearing?"
"...No...this is underground"
"Oh, I see"
Thump
"Well, here we are. Manehatten."
"Wait...what? That's impossible."
"This "room" travels, Henry"
The two walk outside. "Wow. Super vibrant!"
"Seems aweful dull." The unicorn differed. He thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye, but quickly discarded it.
"Well, thanks. Imma go explore." The unicorn waited as Henry ran in the city. He changed back to the blue pony.
He thought he saw it again. A moving shadow. Running through the underbrush. But whenever he looked, nothing. No movement. No shadow. He forgot about it and waited.
